1Optimization of Adaptive Transit Signal Priority Using Parallel Genetic Algorithm显示文摘Optimization of adaptive traffic signal timing is one of the most complex problems in traffic control systems. This paper presents an adaptive transit signal priority (TSP) strategy that applies the parallel genetic algorithm (PGA) to optimize adaptive traffic signal control in the presence of TSP. The method can optimize the phase plan, cycle length, and green splits at isolated intersections with consideration for the performance of both the transit and the general vehicles. A VISSIM (VISual SIMulation) simulation testbed was developed to evaluate the performance of the proposed PGA-based adaptive traffic signal control with TSP. The simulation results show that the PGA-based optimizer for adaptive TSP outperformed the fully actuated NEMA control in all test cases. The results also show that the PGA-based optimizer can produce TSP timing plans that benefit the transit vehicles while minimizing the impact of TSP on the general vehicles.Guangwei Zhou Albert Gan L. 2The unconditional stable and convergent difference methods with intrinsic parallelism for quasilinear parabolic systems显示文摘A kind of the general finite difference schemes with intrinsicparallelism for the boundary value problem of the quasilinearparabolic system is studied without assuming heuristically thatthe original boundary value problem%for the quasilinear parabolic systemhas the unique smooth vector solution. By the method of a prioriestimation of the discrete solutions of the nonlinear differencesystems, and the interpolation formulas of the various norms ofthe discrete functions and the fixed-pointtechnique in finite dimensional Euclidean space, the existence anduniqueness of the discrete vector solutions of the nonlineardifference system with intrinsic parallelismare proved. Moreover the unconditional stability ofthe general finite difference schemes with intrinsic parallelismis justified in the sense of the continuous dependence of thediscrete vector solution of the difference schemes on the discretedata of the original problems in the discrete W(2,1)2 norms. 4IL-17A-dependent gut microbiota is essential for regulating diet-induced disorders in mice显示文摘The gut microbiota plays a key role in obesity and related metabolic disorders, and multiple factors including diet, host genotype, and age regulate it. Many studies have examined the contribution of extrinsic factors to the regulation of the gut microbiota, but the importance of the host genetic constitution cannot be ignored. Interleukin 17A(IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is important in the defense against infection and diseases. Here, we investigated the association among IL-17, a high-fat diet(HFD), and the gut microbiota. Mice deficient in IL-17A were resistant to diet-induced obesity and related diseases. Compared with the Ⅱ-17^(-/-)mice, wild-type(WT) mice challenged with HFD showed obvious weight fluctuations, such as those seen in type 2 diabetes, and hematological changes similar to those associated with metabolic syndrome. However, housing WT mice and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice together significantly alleviated these symptoms in the WT mice. A metagenomic analysis of the mouse feces indicated that the microbial community compositions of these two groups differed before HFD feeding. The HFD mediated shifts in the gut microbial compositions, which were associated with the mouse phenotypes.We also identified potentially beneficial and harmful species present during this period, and drew networks of the most abundant species. A functional analysis indicated pathway changes in the WT and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice when fed the HFD. 5Toward emerging gallium oxide semiconductors:A roadmap显示文摘Owing to the advantages of ultra-wide bandgap and rich material systems,gallium oxide(Ga_(2)O_(3))has emerged as a highly viable semiconductor material for new researches.This article mainly focuses on the growth processes,material characteristics,and applications of Ga_(2)O_(3).Compared with single crystals and the epitaxial growth of other wide-bandgap semiconductors,large-size and high-quality��-Ga_(2)O_(3) single crystals can be efficiently grown with a low cost,making them highly competitive.Thanks to the availability of high-quality single crystals,epi-taxial films,and rich material systems,high-performance semiconductor devices based on Ga_(2)O_(3) go through a booming development in recent years.The defects and interfaces of Ga_(2)O_(3) are comprehensively analyzed owing to their significant influence on practical applications.In this study,the two most common applications of Ga_(2)O_(3) materials are introduced.The high breakdown electric field,high working temperature,and excellent Baliga’s figure-of-merit of Ga_(2)O_(3) represent an inspiring prospect for power electronic devices.In addition,the excellent absorption in deep-ultraviolet band provides new ideas for optoelectronic detectors and ensures the dramatic progress.Finally,the summary,challenges,and prospects of the Ga_(2)O_(3) materials and devices are presented and discussed.Yuan Yuan Weibing Hao Wenxiang Mu Zhengpeng Wang Xuanhu Chen Qi Liu Guangwei Xu Chenlu Wang Hong Zhou Yanni Zou Xiaolong Zhao Zhitai Jia Jiandong Ye Jincheng Zhang Shibing Long Xutang Tao Rong Zhang Yue Hao 2021Fundamental Research2021,1,6:5
6Palynological evidence sheds new light on the age of the Liuqu Conglomerates in Tibet and its geological significance显示文摘The Liuqu Conglomerates consist of a suit of terrestrial molasse deposits formed in a foreland basin of the Himalaya-Tibet orogenic belt before the collision of India and Eurasia.These deposits record considerable geological information regarding the late tectonic evolution of the Neotethyan ocean.The palynological study of interlayers of mudstone and mud-sandstones indicates an Oligocene age.The palynological assemblage consists mainly of deciduous broad-leaved angiosperms,with some coniferous gymnosperms and evergreen broad-leaved angiosperms.The deposits reflect a broad-leaved deciduous forest or mixed with conifer-broad-leaved forest ecotypes,showing a warm-temperate or temperate zone climatic environment.This work provides significant new information about the tectonic evolution,paleogeography,and paleoenvironment of southern Tibet during the Cenozoic.WEI LiJie LIU XiaoHan YAN FuHua MAI XueShun LI GuangWei LIU XiaoBing ZHOU XueJun 2011Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,6:5
7Responses of alkaline phosphatase activity to wind-driven waves in a large,shallow lake:Implications for phosphorus availability and algal blooms显示文摘Phosphorus is a vital nutrient for algal growth,thus,a better understanding of phosphorus availability is essential to mitigate harmful algal blooms in lakes.Wind waves are a ubiquitous characteristic of lake ecosystems.However,its effects on the cycling of organic phosphorus and its usage by phytoplankton remain poorly elucidated in shallow eutrophic lakes.A mesocosm experiment was carried out to investigate the responses of alkaline phosphatase activity fractions to wind waves in large,shallow,eutrophic Lake Taihu.Results showed that wind-driven waves induced the release of alkaline phosphatase and phosphorus from the sediment,and dramatically enhanced phytoplanktonic alkaline phosphatase activity.However,compared to the calm conditions,bacterial and dissolved alkaline phosphatase activity decreased in wind-wave conditions.Consistently,the gene copies of Microcystis phoX increased but bacterial phoX decreased under wind-wave conditions.The ecological effects of these waves on phosphorus and phytoplankton likely accelerated the biogeochemical cycling of phosphorus and promoted phytoplankton production in Lake Taihu.This study provides an improved current understanding of phosphorus availability and the phosphorus strategies of plankton in shallow,eutrophic lakes.Jian Zhou Xiaoxia Han Boqiang Qin Guangwei Zhu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1:4
8Regorafenib-loaded poly(lactide-co-glycolide) microspheres designed to improve transarterial chemoembolization therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)has been widely introduced to treat hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)especially for unresectable patients for decades.However,TACE evokes an angiogenic response due to the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),resulting in the formation of new blood vessels and eventually tumor recurrence.Thus,we aimed to develop regorafenib(REGO)-loaded poly(lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA)microspheres that enabled localized and sustained drug delivery to limit proangiogenic responses following TACE in HCC treatment.REGO-loaded PLGA microspheres were prepared using the emulsion-solvent evaporation/extraction method,in which DMF was selected as an organic phase co-solvent.Accordingly,we optimized the proportion of DMF,which the optimal ratio to DCM was 1:9(v/v).After preparation,the microspheres provided high drug loading capacity of 28.6%,high loading efficiency of 91.5%,and the average particle size of 149μm for TACE.IR spectra and XRD were applied to confirming sufficient REGO entrapment.The in vitro release profiles demonstrated sustained drug release of microspheres for more than 30 d To confirm the role of REGO-loaded microspheres in TACE,the cell cytotoxic activity on HepG2 cells and anti-angiogenic effects in HUVECs Tube-formation assay were studied in combination with miriplatin.Moreover,the microspheres indicated the potential of antagonizing miriplatin resistance of HepG2 cells in vitro.Pharmacokinetics preliminary studies exhibited that REGO could be sustainably released from microspheres for more than 30d after TACE in vivo.In vivo anti-tumor efficacy was further determined in HepG2 xenograft tumor mouse model,demonstrating that REGO microspheres could improve the antitumor efficacy of miriplatin remarkably compared with miriplatin monotherapy.In conclusion,the obtained REGO microspheres demonstrated promising therapeutic effects against HCC when combined with TACE.Xiang Li Guangwei He Feng Su Zhaoxing Chu Leiming Xu Yazhong Zhang Jianping Zhou Yang Ding 2020Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,6:4
9Genome-wide dissection of segregation distortion using multiple inter-subspecific crosses in rice显示文摘Mendelian inheritance can ensure equal segregation of alleles from parents to offspring, which provides fundamental basis for genetics and molecular biology. Segregation distortion(SD) leads to preferential transmission of certain alleles from generation to generation. Such violation of Mendelian genetic principle is often accompanied by reproductive isolation and eventually speciation. Although SD is observed in a wide range of species from plants to animals, genome-wide dissection of such biased transmission of gametes is rare. Using nine inter-subspecific rice crosses, a genome-wide screen for SD loci is performed, which reveals 61 single-locus quantitative trait loci and 194 digenic interactions showing distorted transmission ratio, among which 24 new SD loci are identified. Biased transmission of alleles is observed in all nine crosses, suggesting that SD exists extensively in rice populations. 72.13% distorted regions are repeatedly detected in multiple populations, and the most prevalent SD hotspot that observed in eight populations is mapped to chromosome 3. Xian alleles are transmitted at higher frequencies than geng alleles in inter-subspecific crosses, which change the genetic composition of the rice populations. Epistatic interaction contributes significantly to the deviation of Mendelian segregation at the whole-genome level in rice, which is distinct from that in animals. 10Isolation and expression pattern analysis of novel ESTs from human fetal brain显示文摘In order to learn the mechanism of brain development and differentiation, 90 expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were isolated by differential display from the cerebrum and cerebellum of 13-week and 33-week fetal brains. After searching database, 74 of them represented novel genes, some of them were homologous to the brain development related genes. 11Experimental observation of coherent interaction between laser and erbium ions ensemble doped in fiber at sub 10 mK显示文摘Rare-earth ions doped in solid-state materials are considered promising candidates for quantum information applications,especially for photonic quantum memory.Among them,erbium ions doped in an optical fiber have attracted a lot of attentions due to their ability to provide efficient photon-atom interaction on a telecom-C band compatible transition.The coherent photon-atom interaction,which is crucial for quantum memory,has not yet been investigated for erbium ions doped in fiber at the temperature of sub 10 m K with the magnetic environment.In this paper,we experimentally observe optical nutation,which results from the coherent interaction between laser and erbium ions ensemble,in a piece of 9.5-m-long fiber with the erbium concentration of 200 ppm.We also extract the transition dipole moment from the results of optical nutation and further investigate its dependence on laser wavelength and magnetic field.A transition dipole moment of(3.424±0.019)×10^-32 C·m is obtained at the wavelength of 1537 nm and magnetic field of 0.2 T.Our results could pave the way for realizing solid-state quantum networks at telecom-C band.Qi XI Shihai WEI Chenzhi YUAN Xueying ZHANG You WANG Haizhi SONG Guangwei DENG Bo JING Daniel OBLAK Qiang ZHOU 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,8:3

13Morphology analysis of tracks in the aerogels impacted by hypervelocity irregular particles显示文摘As an attractive collector medium for hypervelocity particles,combined with outstanding physical properties and suitable compositional characteristics,SiO2 aerogel has been deployed on outer space missions and laser shock-loaded collection experiments.In this paper,impact experiments were conducted to understand the penetration process of irregular grains,irregular Al_(2)O_(3) grains with two different sizes and speeds(~110μm@7 km/s,~251μm@2.3 km/s)at various density silica aerogels.By classifying the shapes of projectile residues and tracks,the morphology of tracks was analyzed.It was observed that there were several kinds of typical tracks in the penetration of irregular grains,accompanied by residues with the shapes of near-sphere,polyhedron,streamlined body wedge,and rotator.The rotational behavior was demonstrated by the final status of one flake projectile as direct evidence.In addition,there was no obvious relationship between the track length and experimental parameters,which may be caused by the uncertain interaction between aerogels and irregular particles.In addition,it confirmed the existence of fragmentation,melting situation by observing the shape of the impact entrance hole.At the same time,optical coherence tomography was used to observe the detail of tracks clearly,which provided a method to characterize the tracks nondestructively.Ai Du Yi Ma Mingfang Liu Zhihua Zhang Guangwei Cao Hongwei Li Ling Wang Peijian Si Jun Shen Bin Zhou 2021High Power Laser Science and Engineering2021,9,2:1

17Homogeneous Synthesis and Characterization of Quaternized Cellulose Derivatives in NaOH-urea Aqueous Solutions显示文摘Quaternized cellulose( QC) derivatives were synthesized by reacting cellulose with 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride( CHPTAC) in an aqueous solution of Na OH-urea. The chemical structures and physical properties of the obtained QC derivatives were characterized using nitrogen content analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy( FT-IR),~1H-nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR),X-ray diffraction( XRD),and thermal gravity analysis( TGA). The FT-IR and ~1H-NMR results confirmed the successful introduction of cationic quaternary ammonium groups into the main chain of cellulose. A series of QC derivatives with the degree of substitution( DS) values ranging from 0. 33 to 0. 80 were derived by adjusting the molar ratio of CHPTAC to anhydroglucose unit( AGU) of cellulose,concentration of cellulose in the Na OH-urea solution,as well as reaction temperature and time. According to the DS values of the QC derivatives,the optimized synthetic conditions were as follows: 25℃ reaction temperature,3% cellulose in Na OH-urea solution,the molar ratio of etherification agent to glycosidic cellulose of 15∶ 1,and 12 h reaction time.
