1Decision support for integrated river basin management—Scientific research challenges显示文摘Integrated River Basin Management(IRBM)has been a long discussed way to sustainably manage water and land resources;yet,very few examples of effective IRBM are found because there is a lack of sufficient scientific support,as well as institutional accommodation,to successfully implement it.This paper overviews the major challenges with IRBM,the promising scientific approaches for the implementation of IRBM,and the areas of needed research,with considerable issues and experiences from China.It is expected that novel research will draw together disparate disciplines into an integrated scientific framework,upon which better modeling tools,stakeholder involvement,and decision-making support can be built.Cutting-edge new technologies will bring ideas of IRBM forward to theory and finally to practice.The paper will prompt scientists to undertake research to fill in the gaps in the current IRBM knowledge base and provide practitioners guidance on how to incorporate scientifically based information within the IRBM decision process.CAI XiMing Landon MARSTON GE YingChun 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,1:7

4Dynamic evolution of oxide scale on the surfaces of feed stock particles from cracking and segmenting to peel-off while cold spraying copper powder having a high oxygen content显示文摘The oxide scale present on the feedstock particles is critical for inter-particle bond formation in the cold spray(CS)coating process,therefore,oxide scale break-up is a prerequisite for clean metallic contact which greatly improves the quality of inter-particle bonding within the deposited coating.In general,a spray powder which contains a thicker oxide scale on its surface(i.e.,powders having high oxygen content)requires a higher critical particle velocity for coating formation,which also lowers the deposition efficiency(DE)making the whole process a challenging task.In this work,it is reported for the first time that an artificially oxidized copper(Cu)powder containing a high oxygen content of 0.81 wt.%with a thick surface oxide scale of 0.71μm.,can help achieve an astonishing increment in DE.A transition of surficial oxide scale evolution starting with crack initiations followed by segmenting to peeling-off was observed during the high velocity particle impact of the particles,which helps in achieving an astounding increment in DE.Single-particle deposit observations revealed that the thick oxide scale peels off from most of the sprayed powder surfaces during the high-velocity impact,which leaves a clean metallic surface on the deposited particle.This makes the successive particles to bond easily and thus leads to a higher DE.Further,owning to the peeling-off of the oxide scale from the feedstock particles,very few discontinuous oxide scale segments are retained at inter-particle boundaries ensuring a high electrical conductivity within the resulting deposit.Dependency of the oxide scale threshold thickness for peeling-off during the high velocity particle impact was also investigated.Xiao-Tao Luo Yi Ge Yingchun Xie Yingkang Wei Renzhong Huang Ninshu Ma Chidambaram Seshadri Ramachandran Chang-Jiu Li 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,8:1
5A bi-functional strategy involving surface coating and subsurface gradient co-doping for enhanced cycle stability of LiCoO_(2) at 4.6 V显示文摘Layered LiCoO_(2)(LCO)acts as a dominant cathode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)in 3C products because of its high compacted density and volumetric energy density.Although improving the high cutoff voltage is an effective strategy to increase its capacity,such behavior would trigger rapid capacity decay due to the surface or/and structure degradation.Herein,we propose a bi-functional surface strategy involving constructing a robust spinel-like phase coating layer with great integrity and compatibility to LiCoO_(2) and modulating crystal lattice by anion and cation gradient co-doping at the subsurface.As a result,the modified LiCoO_(2)(AFM-LCO)shows a capacity retention of 80.9%after 500 cycles between 3.0and 4.6 V.The Al,F,Mg enriched spinel-like phase coating layer serves as a robust physical barrier to effectively inhibit the undesired side reactions between the electrolyte and the cathode.Meanwhile,the Al,F,Mg gradient co-doping significantly enhances the surficial structure stability,suppresses Co dissolution and oxygen release,providing a stable path for Li-ions mobility all through the long-term cycles.Thus,the surface bi-functional strategy is an effective method to synergistically improve the electrochemical performances of LCO at a high cut-off voltage of 4.6 V.Yun He Xiaoliang Ding Tao Cheng Hongyu Cheng Meng Liu Zhijie Feng Yijia Huang Menghan Ge Yingchun Lyu Bingkun Guo 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2:0
6Proliferation in rat gastric mucosal cells induced by chronic ethanol feeding through the ROS/BMK1 pathway显示文摘Objective: To investigate the correlation between the gastric mucosal cell proliferation and low-concentration alcohol intake in a chronic drinking rat model, and to investigate the possible role of ROS/BMK1 pathway in this process. Methods: SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: control group, administered with tap water; ethanol group, with 6% ethanol in the drinking water; quercetin group, with quercetin (100 mg/kg) by intragastric gavage twice a day; ethanol+quercetin group, administered with quercetin combined with 6% ethanol. The cell proliferation in rat gastric mucosa was analyzed by flow cytometery and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) immunohistochemical staining. Activation of ERKs and BMK1 was evaluated by the expression and phosphorylation of these kinases using Western Blot analysis. Results: Compared to the controls, the cell proliferation in gastric mucosa of rats exposed to the ethanol for 7 d was enhanced, and the activation of BMK1 was also increased in this period. Otherwise quercetin, as a free radical scavenger, attenuated increased cell proliferation and activation of BMK1 in rat stomach treated with ethanol. However, no changes of ERKs expression and phosphorylation occurred in the rats in all groups. 10The quantitative proteome atlas of a model cyanobacterium显示文摘Cyanobacteria are a group of oxygenic photosynthetic bacteria with great potentials in biotechnological applications and advantages as models for photosynthesis research. The subcellular localizations of the majority of proteins in any cyanobacteria remain undetermined, representing a major challenge in using cyanobacteria for both basic and industrial researches. Here, using label-free quantitative proteomics, we map 2027 proteins of Synechocystis sp. PCC6803, a model cyanobacterium, to different subcellular compartments and generate a proteome atlas with such information. The atlas leads to numerous unexpected but important findings, including the predominant localization of the histidine kinases Hik33 and Hik27 on the thylakoid but not the plasma membrane. Such information completely changes the concept regarding how the two kinases are activated. 11Influencing factors and mechanism of iodine-induced stress corrosion cracking of zirconium alloy cladding:A review显示文摘Failure of the zirconium alloy claddings due to iodine-induced stress corrosion cracking(I-SCC)will increase the risk of fission product leakage.The progress of I-SCC has been comprehensively investigated in a massive amount of published literature.For a comprehensive understanding of I-SCC,this review focuses on summarizing the mechanisms and influencing factors of I-SCC.Results show that micropits are formed on the surface of zirconium alloys due to the reaction between iodine and zirconium,and then small pits gradually gather to form pit clusters.Cracks are easily generated in pit clusters and propagate along the grain boundary.After reaching a particular condition,the crack will transform into transgranular direction propagation.As the crack develops,it finally becomes a ductile fracture.We also summarize various factors that may affect I-SCC.The specific cracking conditions are linked to elements,such as iodine concentration,temperature,microstructure,and alloying elements.Nonetheless,the improvement of the I-SCC resistance of zirconium alloys needs to be further explored.More attention can be paid to material properties,such as alloying elements,microstructure,and surface treatment,to improve the I-SCC resistance of zirconium alloys.Yusha Li Changchun Ge Yanhong Liu Guangbin Li Xiaoxu Dong Zongxing Gu Yingchun Zhang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,4:0
