Effect of heat treatment on LPSO morphology and mechanical properties of Mg-Zn-Y-Gd alloys显示文摘The mechanical properties and microstructure were investigated under different Zn content and heat treatment conditions in a Mg-Zn-YGd cast alloy.A part of the long period stacking order(LPSO)phases transformed to W-M^ZnaRE?phases with an increase in Zn content from 0.9 at.%to 1.8 at.%,and the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)increased from 229 MPa to 248 MPa.With solution treatment at 480°C,the content of the LPSO phase and strength sharply decreased in the Mg-1.8Zn-0.8Y-0.8Gd alloy, whereas this change was not significantly observed in the Mg-0.9Zn-O.8Y-O.8Gd alloy. After solution treatment, the elongation significantly improved and the UTS sharply decreased in both alloys. The lamellar and filminess LPSO phases were observed with aging treatment at 200℃.Moreover,the strengthening efficiency of lamellar and filminess LPSO phases was lower than that of the block LPSO phases. Therefore, the UTS of the T6 state was lower than that of the as-cast alloy. | Hongxin Liao Jonghyun Kim Taekyung Lee Jiangfeng Song Jian Peng Bin Jiang Fusheng Pan | 2020 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,4: | 14

Comparison of microstructures and mechanical properties of composite extruded AZ31 sheets显示文摘The microstructures and mechanical properties of the composite extruded AZ31/AZ31 and AZ31/4047 Al sheets were investigated and made a comparison to the conventional extruded AZ31 sheet.Owing to the introduced intense shear deformation at the interface during the composite extrusion, grain refinement and tilted texture were detected in AZ31 layers of the AZ31/AZ31 and AZ31/4047 Al sheets, while the conventional extruded AZ31 sheet exhibited a relative coarse, inhomogeneous microstructure and strong basal texture. The compressiontension yield ratio was increased gradually from the AZ31 to the AZ31/AZ31 and AZ31/4047 Al sheets.Besides, the AZ31/4047 Al sheet could successfully accomplish the whole bending forming process at room temperature, while the AZ31 and AZ31/AZ31 sheets were both bend-formed to failure with significant cracks in the outer tensile region under the identical bending parameters. Moreover, under the same bending strain, both the outward offset degree of strain neutral layer and the sheet thickening were more serious in the AZ31/4047 Al composite sheet than those of the AZ31 and AZ31/AZ31 sheets. The foremost reason was the quite wide gap of material properties between Mg alloy AZ31 layer(tensile loading in the outer region)and Al 4047 layer(compressive loading in the inner region). | Yanfu Chai Yan Song Bin Jiang Jie Fu Zhongtao Jiang Qingshan Yang Haoran Sheng Guangsheng Huang Dingfei Zhang Fusheng Pan | 2019 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019,7,4: | 11
Influence of different extrusion processes on mechanical properties of magnesium alloy显示文摘AZ31 Mg alloy sheets were processed by the conventional symmetrical extrusion(CSE)and the asymmetric extrusion(ASE).Progressive-asymmetric extrusion(PASE)and severe strain-asymmetric extrusion(SASE)were employed for ASE processes. The texture at near-surface and mid-layer zones of ASE sheets was diverse penetrating the normal direction(ND).This was attributed to an additional asymmetric shear strain deformation during the ASE process.(0002)basal planes of PASE sheets tilt to the shear deformation direction.Meanwhile, the basal texture intensity of PASE sheets has been weakened compared with one in CSE sheets.Grain refinement and tilted weak basal texture obtained by SASE process dramatically enhances the room temperature strength and plasticity of the extruded AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets. The microstructure and mechanical responses were examined and discussed. | Qingshan Yang Bin Jiang Hucheng Pan Bo Song Zhongtao Jiang Jiahong Dai Lifei Wang Fusheng Pan | 2014 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2014,2,3: | 11
Clarifying the roles of grain boundary and grain orientation on the corrosion and discharge processes of α-Mg based Mg-Li alloys for primary Mg-air batteries显示文摘The corrosion behavior at open circuit potential(OCP)and discharge properties under applied anodic currents of twoα-Mg based Mg-Li alloys,i.e.,LAZ131 and LAZ531,with different microstructural features for primary Mg-air batteries are investigated. The results show that the grain boundaries contribute equally to the corrosion and discharge processes, which are attacked preferentially than the grain interiors and accelerate the dissolution processes ofα-Mg based Mg-Li alloys.The(10-10)/(11-20)orientated grains are attacked preferentially than the(0002)orientated grains on the corrosion and discharge process. The increased corrosion rate and improved discharge properties are attributed to the refinement of grain size, decreased content of(0002)orientated grains and increased content of(10-10)/(11-20)orientated grains.Of those, the LAZ531 alloy possesses high and steady discharge voltage at small discharge current density for long time, with the values of 1.4801 V at 2.5 mA cm^(-2)and 1.3742 V at 10 mA cm^(-2). | Huabao Yang Liang Wu Bin Jiang Wenjun Liu Jiangfeng Song Guangsheng Huang Dingfei Zhang Fusheng Pan | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,3: | 9
Glass modified barium strontium titanate ceramics for energy storage capacitor at elevated temperatures显示文摘A glass with composition of B_(2)O_(3)-Bi_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-CaO-BaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-ZrO_(2)(BBSZ)modified Ba_(x)Sr_(1-x)TiO_(3)(BST,x=0.3 and 0.4)ceramics were prepared by a conventional solid state reaction method abided by a formula of BST+y%BBSZ(y=0,2,4,7,and 10,in mass). The effect of BBSZ glass content on the structure, dielectric properties and energy storage characteristics of the ceramics was investigated. The dielectric constant reduced but the endurable electrical strength enhanced due to the BBSZ glass addition in BST ceramics. In particular, the dielectric loss of the ceramics at elevated temperature(e.g.200℃)can be strongly suppressed from tanδ>20%to tanδ<3% after BBSZ glass modification. For Ba_(0.3)Sr_(0.7)TiO_(3)+2%BBSZ ceramics,an optimized energy storage density(γ=0.63 J/cm^(3))and efficiency(η=91.6%)under an applied electric field of 160 kV/cm was obtained at room temperature.Meanwhile, the temperature dependent polarization-electric field(P-E)hysteresis loops were measured to evaluate the energy storage characteristics of the ceramics potential for high voltage capacitor application at elevated temperatures. | Zong-Yang Shen Yu Wang Yanxue Tang Yuanying Yu Wen-Qin Luo Xingcai Wang Yueming Li Zhumei Wang Fusheng Song | 2019 | Journal of Materiomics2019,5,4: | 9
Effects of Y on the Microstructure, Mechanical and Bio-corrosion Properties of Mg-Zn-Ca Bulk Metallic Glass显示文摘The micro-alloying effects of Y on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and bio-corrosion behavior of Mg69-xZn27Ca4Yx(x= 0, 1, 2 at.%) alloys were investigated through X-ray diffraction, compressive tests, electrochemical treatments, and immersion tests. The Mg69Zn27Ca4 alloy was found to be absolutely amorphous, and its glass-forming ability decreased with the addition of Y. The Mg68Zn27Ca4Y1 alloy exhibited an ultrahigh compressive strength above 1010 MPa as well as high capacity for plastic strain above 3.1%.Electrochemical and immersion tests revealed that these Y-doped MgeZ neC a alloys had good bio-corrosion resistance in simulated body fluid(SBF) at 37℃. The results of the cytotoxicity test showed high cell viabilities for these alloys, which means good bio-compatibility. | Jingfeng Wang Yang Li Song Huang Yiyun Wei Xingfeng Xi Kaiyong Cai Fusheng Pan | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,12: | 8
P-E hysteresis loop going slim in Ba0.3Sr0.7TiO3-modified Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 ceramics for energy storage applications显示文摘(Ba0.3Sr0.7)x(Bi0.5Na0.5)1-xTiO3(BSxBNT,x=0.3–V0.8)ceramics were prepared to investigate their structure, dielectric and ferroelectric properties.BSxBNT ceramics possess pure perovskite structure accompanied from a tetragonal symmetry to pseudo-cubic one with the increase of x value, being confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Raman results. The Tm corresponding to a temperature in the vicinity of maximum dielectric constant gradually decreases from 110℃(x=0.3)to-45℃(x=0.8),across Tm=36℃(x=0.5)with a maximum dielectric constant(ɛr=5920@1 kHz)around room temperature. The saturated polarization Ps gradually while the remnant polarization Pr sharply decreases with the increase of x value, making the P-E hysteresis loop of BSxBNT ceramics goes slim.A maximum difference between Ps and Pr(Ps-Pr)is obtained for BSxBNT ceramics with x=0.5,at which a high recoverable energy density(Wrec=1.04 J/cm3)is achieved under an applied electric field of 100 kV/cm with an efficiency ofη=77%.Meanwhile,the varied temperature P-E loops, fatigue measurements, and electric breakdown characteristics for the sample with x=0.5 indicate that it is promising for pulsed power energy storage capacitor candidate materials. | Dongxu LI Zong-Yang SHEN Zhipeng LI Wenqin LUO Xingcai WANG Zhumei WANG Fusheng SONG Yueming LI | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,2: | 8
Microstructure and Thermal Conductivity of As-Cast and As-Solutionized Mg–Rare Earth Binary Alloys显示文摘The microstructure and thermal conductivity of four groups of Mg–rare earth(RE) binary alloys(Mg–Ce,Mg–Nd, Mg–Y and Mg–Gd) in as-cast and as-solutionized states were systematically studied. Thermal conductivity was measured on a Netzsch LFA457 using laser flash method at room temperature. Results indicated that for as-cast alloys, the volume fraction of second phases increased with the increase of alloying elements. After solutionizing treatment, a part or most of second phases were dissolved in α-Mg matrix, except for Mg–Ce alloys. The thermal conductivity of as-cast and as-solutionized Mg–RE alloys decreased with the increase of concentrations. The thermal conductivity of as-solutionized Mg–Nd,Mg–Y and Mg–Gd alloys was lower than that of as-cast alloys. Thermal conductivity of as-solutionized Mg–Ce alloys was higher than that of as-cast alloys, because of the elimination of lattice defects and fine dispersed particles during solutionizing treatment. Different RE elements have different influences on the thermal conductivity of Mg alloys in the following order: Ce < Nd < Y < Gd. Ce has the minimum effect on thermal conductivity of Mg alloys, because of the very low solubility of Ce in the α-Mg matrix. The variations in the atomic radius of the solute elements with Mg atom( r), valence, configuration of extranuclear electron of the solute atoms, and the maximum solid solubility of elements in the α-Mg matrix were suggested to be the main reasons for the differences in thermal conductivity of resulting Mg–RE alloys. | Liping Zhong Jian Peng Song Sun Yongjian Wang Yun Lu Fusheng Pan | 2017 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2017,33,11: | 7
Effects of long-term fertilization with different substitution ratios of organic fertilizer on paddy soil显示文摘In recent years, the abuse of chemical fertilizers has caused numerous environmental problems, such as soil acidification and compaction.Replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers can effectively alleviate these problems. However, the effects of alternative organic fertilizers remain unclear. To explore the effects of organic fertilizer substitution on rice yield and paddy soil physicochemical properties and bacterial community structure,we conducted a 5-year experiment using different proportions of organic fertilizer substitution in a double-cropping rice field in Jiangxi,China. Our results showed that replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers can reduce soil acidification, increase soil organic matter content, nutrient contents, and enzyme activities, improve soil physicochemical properties and microbial community, and enhance soil metabolism.Appropriate organic substitution also had positive effects on rice production. These findings enhance our understanding of the effects of different alternative organic fertilization methods and have important theoretical significance for the promotion of the use of organic fertilizers in the future. | Weifeng SONG Aiping SHU Jiai LIU Wenchong SHI Mingcong LI Wenxue ZHANG Zuzhang LI Guangrong LIU Fusheng YUAN Shuxin ZHANG Zengbing LIU Zheng GAO | 2022 | Pedosphere2022,32,4: | 7
Ce and W co-doped CaBi_(2)Nb_(2)O_(9) with enhanced piezoelectric constant and electrical resistivity at high temperature显示文摘Ce and W co-doped CaBi_(2)Nb_(2)O_(9) ceramics with chemical formula Ca_(0.96)Ce_(0.04)Bi_(2)Nb_(2-x)W_(x)O_(9)(CCBNW100x,x=0-0.07)are fabricated via conventional solid state sintering method,to investigate the effect of W addition on the structure, electrical resistivity, dielectric and piezoelectric properties.A piezoelectric constant d33 of 13.4 pC/N is obtained in CCBN-W2 ceramics,>100% higher than that of pure CaBi_(2)Nb_(2)O_(9)(d_(33)=5.8e6.4 pC/N).Of particular significance is that the electrical resistivity of CCBN-W2 ceramics(r=3.7×109 U cm at 500℃)is three orders of magnitude higher than pure CaBi_(2)Nb_(2)O_(9)(r=2.9×10^(6) U cm at same temperature). All these properties, together with its low dielectric loss(tandδ0.13%)and excellent d33 thermal stability up to 800℃,merit the CCBN-W2 ceramics for high temperature piezoelectric sensing applications. | Zong-Yang Shen Chen Qin Wen-Qin Luo Fusheng Song Zhumei Wang Yueming Li Shujun Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Materiomics2020,6,3: | 7

Review of Mg alloy corrosion rates显示文摘A review of the literature confirmed that the intrinsic corrosion rate of high-purity Mg as measured by weight-loss is 0.3mm/y in a concentrated chloride solution.Atmospheric corrosion of Mg alloys has produced corrosion rates of Mg-Al alloys an order of magnitude lower than the intrinsic corrosion rate of Mg in a concentrated chloride solution of 0.3 mm/y.The only successful strategy to produce a Mg alloy with a corrosion rate in a concentrated chloride solution substantially less than the intrinsic corrosion rate as measured by weight loss of Mg of 0.3 mm/y has been to improve the protectiveness of the corrosion product film. | Andrej Atrens Zhiming Shi Syeda UMehreen Sean Johnston Guang-Ling Song Xianhua Chen Fusheng Pan | 2020 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,4: | 5
Preparation, structure and properties of Mg/Al laminated metal composites fabricated by roll-bonding, a review显示文摘Laminated metal composites(LMCs) are a unique composite material and have great application prospects in automobiles, ships, aircraft, and other manufacturing industries. As lightweight materials, the Mg/Al LMCs are expected to combine the advantages of both Mg and Al alloys to broaden their application prospects. Roll-bonding is the most popular process for the fabrication of Mg/Al LMCs due to high production efficiency and good product quality stability. The roll-bonding process involves the deformation of the substrates and the formation of the interfacial diffusion layer. The latter will directly determine the interface bonding strength of Mg/Al LMCs. Bonding strength is very sensitive to the thickness of the reaction layer in the diffusion layer. When the thickness of the reaction layer exceeds 5 μm, the bonding strength decreases sharply. Therefore, controlling the thickness of the reaction layer is very important for the design of rolling parameters. The latest research also showed that the addition of intermediate layer metal and the construction of three-dimensional interfaces can further improve the interface bonding strength. How to apply these methods to roll-bonding is the focus of future research. Recently, a new rolling technique, corrugated roll/plat roll rolling+flat roll/flat roll rolling has been developed to fabricate Mg/Al LMCs. It can effectively promote the deformation of the hard layer and generate a wavy interface, resulting in the enhancement of the bonding quality and rolling quality. In the current review, the effects of rolling parameters and subsequent annealing on the interface structure of Mg/Al LMCs were elaborated in detail. The application of some special rolling techniques in the preparation of Mg/Al LMCs was also summarized. The latest research results on the relationship between interface structure and mechanical properties of Mg/Al LMCs were reviewed. Finally, further research directions in this field were proposed. | Tingting Liu Bo Song Guangsheng Huang Xianquan Jiang Shengfeng Guo Kaihong Zheng Fusheng Pan | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,8: | 4
The effects of orientation control via tension-compression on microstructural evolution and mechanical behavior of AZ31 Mg alloy sheet显示文摘The grain orientation control via twinning activity on deformation features is of great significance to offer a key insight into understanding the deformation mechanism of Mg alloy sheets.The{10–12}twinning were performed by pre-strain paths,i.e.,tension(6%)and compression(5%)perpendicular to the c-axis along extrusion direction(ED),to investigate the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of AZ31 Mg alloy sheets. The distinction in the texture evolution and strain hardening behavior was illustrated in connection with the pre-strain paths for the activities of twinning and slip. The result shows that the activation of the deformation mode was closely bound up with the grain orientation and the additional applied load direction.The{10–12}twin-texture components with c-axis//ED were generated by precompression, which can provide an appropriate alternative to accommodate the thin sheet thickness strain and enhance the room temperature formability of Mg alloy sheet. | Qingshan Yang Bin Jiang Bo Song Zujian Yu Dewei He Yanfu Chai Jianyue Zhang Fusheng Pan | 2022 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,2: | 4
Construction of molecule-selective mixed matrix membranes with confined mass transfer structure显示文摘Extraordinary mass transfer phenomenon is usually found when the small molecules pass through a confined structure, whose effective size is commensurate with the mean free path of the molecules. Small changes in the confined mass transfer structure(including size, morphology and properties) will lead to significant fluctuations of the mass transfer coefficient. The mass transfer of the penetrant molecules in the dense membranes for pervaporation, gas separation and so on, is located in the scope of confined mass transfer. Incorporating nanofillers into polymer matrix to construct mixed matrix membranes(MMMs) is an effective approach to tune the confined mass transfer structure and enhance the performance of the widely used polymeric membranes. This review focuses on the construction and manipulation of the confined structure in the polymeric membranes via incorporating one-dimensional(1D), two-dimensional(2D) and three-dimensional(3D) fillers. The comparison of the MMMs for pervaporation is summarized, and the research prospective of the MMMs is provided. | Weidong Li Fusheng Pan Yimeng Song Meidi Wang Hongjian Wang Shalik Walker Hong Wu Zhongyi Jiang | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,11: | 3
