Pattern of latest tectonic motion and its dynamics for active blocks in Sichuan-Yunnan region, China显示文摘Based on the concept of 'active blocks' and spatial distribution of historical earthquakes with surface ruptures as well as major and subordinate active faults. The Sichuan-Yunnan region can be divided into four first-order blocks. They are the Markam block (I), the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block (II), Baoshan-Pu'er block (III), and Mizhina-Ximeng block (IV). Cut by sub-ordinate NE-trending active faults, the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block (II) can be further divided into two sub-blocks: the northwestern Sichuan sub-block (II1) and the middle Yunnan sub-block (II2), while the Baoshan- Pu'er block (III) can be further divided into three sub-blocks: Baoshan sub-block (III1), Jinggu sub-block (III2), and Mengla sub-block (III3). A quantitative study of offset landforms is carried out and the basic types of active faults and their long-term slip rates along the major boundaries of active blocks of different orders in the Sichuan-Yunnan region are determined, through slip vector analysis, the motion states of the active blocks are clarified and the deformation coordination on the block margins is discussed. It is suggested that the tectonic motion of the blocks in this region is a complex or superimposition of three basic types of motions: southeastward sliding, rotating on vertical axis, and uplifting. The Markam block (I), the northwestern Sichuan sub-block (II1), and middle Yunnan sub-block (II2) have a southeastward horizontal sliding rate of 1-5 mm/a, clockwise rotating angular rate of 1.4-4(/Ma, and uplifting rate of about 1 mm/a. The Baoshan-Pu'er (III) and Mizhina-Ximeng (IV) blocks have also been extensively clockwise rotated. This pattern of motion is a strain response to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates and the localized deformation and differential slip on the block margins associated with the northward motion of the Indian Plate. Because a set of transverse thrusts between the blocks absorbs and transforms some components of eastward or southeastward sliding motion, the eastward escape or extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau is limited as 'imbricated thrusting transformation-limited extrusion model'. | XU Xiwei (徐锡伟) WEN Xueze (闻学泽) ZHENG Rongzhang (郑荣章) MA Wentao (马文涛) SONG Fangming (宋方敏) YU Guihua (于贵华) | 2003 | Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z2: | 127
Image formation of brain function in patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis treated with moxibustion显示文摘OBJECTIVES:Functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) technology was used to study changes to the resting state blood flow in the brains of patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA) before and after treatment with moxibustion at the acupoint of the left Dubi(ST 35) and to probe the cerebral mechanism underlying the effect of moxibustion.METHODS:The resting state brain function of 30 patients with left KOA was scanned with fMRI before and after treatment with moxibustion. The analytic methods of fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuation(fALFF) and regional homogeneity(ReHo) were used to observe changes in resting state brain function.RESULTS:The fALFF values of the right cerebrum,extra-nucleus,left cerebellum, left cerebrum and white matter of patients after moxibustion treatment were higher than before treatment, and the fALFF values of the precentral gyrus, frontal lobe and occipital lobe were lower than before treatment(P<0.05,K≥85).The ReHo values of the thalamus,extra-nucleus and parietal lobe of patients were much higher than those before moxibustion treatment, and the ReHo values of the right cerebrum, left cerebrum and frontal lobe were lower than before treatment(P<0.05,K≥85).CONCLUSION:The influence of moxibustion on obvious changes in brain regions basically conforms to the way that pain and warmth is transmitted in the body, and the activation of sensitive systems in the body may be objective evidence of channel transmission. The regulation of brain function by moxibustion is not in a single brain region but rather in a network of many brain regions. | Hongwu Xie Fangming Xu Rixin Chen Tianyou Luo Mingren Chen Weidong Fang Fajin Lü Fei Wu Yune Song Jun Xiong | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2: | 7
Coagulation factors VII, IX and X are effective antibacterial proteins against drug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria显示文摘Infections caused by drug-resistant“superbugs”pose an urgent public health threat due to the lack of effective drugs;however, certain mammalian proteins with intrinsic antibacterial activity might be underappreciated. Here, we reveal an antibacterial property against Gram-negative bacteria for factors VII, IX and X, three proteins with well-established roles in initiation of the coagulation cascade. These factors exert antibacterial function via their light chains (LCs). Unlike many antibacterial agents that target cell metabolism or the cytoplasmic membrane, the LCs act by hydrolyzing the major components of bacterial outer membrane, lipopolysaccharides, which are crucial for the survival of Gram-negative bacteria. The LC of factor VII exhibits in vitro efficacy towards all Gram-negative bacteria tested, including extensively drug-resistant (XDR) pathogens, at nanomolar concentrations. It is also highly effective in combating XDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii infections in vivo. Through decoding a unique mechanism whereby factors VII, IX and X behave as antimicrobial proteins, this study advances our understanding of the coagulation system in host defense, and suggests that these factors may participate in the pathogenesis of coagulation disorder-related diseases such as sepsis via their dual functions in blood coagulation and resistance to infection. Furthermore, this study may offer new strategies for combating Gram-negative “superbugs”. | Jinwu Chen Xiaojie Li Ling Li Ting Zhang Qing Zhang Fangming Wu Diyue Wang Hongze Hu Changlin Tian Dongsheng Liao Liang Zhao Danxia Song Yongyun Zhao Chuanfang Wu Xu Song | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,9: | 6
Catalytic transfer hydrogenation of levulinate ester intoγ-valerolactone over ternary Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst显示文摘An effective catalytic transfer hydrogenation (CTH) process of bio-based levulinate esters into γ-valerolactone (GVL) was explored over ternary Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst which was prepared by coprecipitation method and could be sustainably used. As a result, quantitative conversion of ethyl levulinate (EL) and 99.0% yield of GVL were obtained in the CTH process using i-PrOH as hydrogen donor. The Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst with high-surface-area could be reused at least four times without the loss of catalytic activity. Furthermore, the structure and properties of Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 catalyst was characterized through XRD, BET, SEM, TEM and H2-TPR. Also, the influence of different support oxides and calcination temperatures was investigated. | Chuntao Zhang Zhibao Huo Dezhang Ren Zhiyuan Song Yunjie Liu Fangming Jin Wanning Zhou | 2019 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,5: | 2
Catalytic conversion of ethyl lactate to 1,2-propanediol over CuO显示文摘An efficient conversion of biomass-derived ethyl lactate to 1,2-propanediol(1,2-PDO) over CuO was investigated.Among the catalysts we tested, CuO, Cu2 O and Co showed excellent catalytic activity for the conversion of ethyl lactate to 1,2-PDO in water, and CuO was more active and gave the best result. The 1,2-PDO yield of 93.6% was achieved when Zn acted as a reductant. The results indicated that in situ formed hydrogen by the oxidation of Zn in water is more effective than gaseous hydrogen, which failed to produce the 1,2-PDO from ethyl lactate. From a practical point of view, the present method may provide a useful route for the production of 1,2-PDO from ethyl lactate. | Song Zhang Zhibao Huo Dezhang Ren Jiang Luo Jun Fu Lu Li Fangming Jin | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,1: | 1
Over 50,000 Metagenomically Assembled Draft Genomes for the Human Oral Microbiome Reveal New Taxa显示文摘The oral cavity of each person is home to hundreds of bacterial species. While taxa for oral diseases have been studied using culture-based characterization as well as amplicon sequencing, metagenomic and genomic information remains scarce compared to the fecal microbiome. Here, using metagenomic shotgun data for 3346 oral metagenomic samples together with 808 published samples,we obtain 56,213 metagenome-assembled genomes(MAGs),and more than 64%of the 3589 species-level genome bins(SGBs)contain no publicly available genomes. The resulting genome collection is representative of samples around the world and contains many genomes from candidate phyla radiation(CPR)that lack monoculture. Also,it enables the discovery of new taxa such as a genus Candidatus Bgiplasma within the family Acholeplasmataceae.Large-scale metagenomic data from massive samples also allow the assembly of strains from important oral taxa such as Porphyromonas and Neisseria. The oral microbes encode genes that could potentially metabolize drugs.Apart from these findings,a strongly male-enriched Campylobacter species was identified.Oral samples would be more user-friendly collected than fecal samples and have the potential for disease diagnosis. Thus, these data lay down a genomic framework for future inquiries of the human oral microbiome. | Jie Zhu Liu Tian Peishan Chen Mo Han Liju Song Xin Tong Xiaohuan Sun Fangming Yang Zhipeng Lin Xing Liu Chuan Liu Xiaohan Wang Yuxiang Lin Kaiye Cai Yong Hou Xun Xu Huanming Yang Jian Wang Karsten Kristiansen Liang Xiao Tao Zhang Huijue Jia Zhuye Jie | 2022 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,2: | 1
Carboxymethylation of the polysaccharide from the fermentation broth of Marasmius androsaceus and its antidepressant mechanisms显示文摘To investigate the structure-activity relationship of polysaccharide and obtain a better antidepressant polysaccharide, the antidepressant-like activity of a carboxymethyl polysaccharide(C-MEPS2)subjected to submerged fermentation was systematically studied.PC12-H cell and Kunming mice were used to investigate the differences and their mechanism in the antidepressant effects of C-MEPS2 and MEPS2.Cell experiments have showed that C-MEPS2 has a better antidepressant effect than MEPS2.C-MEPS2 could exert antidepressant effects related to catecholamine synthesis with specifi c sites of TH,D2DR,and P-CAMKII.In addition,C-MEPS2 could repair the Res-induced damage in PC12-H cell, stabilize the mitochondrial membrane potential and regulate intracellular Ca^(2+) concentration, thus reducing cell apoptosis caused by RES.Antagonists common dosing experiments on animals further proved that CMEPS2 could signifi cantly improve the antidepressant effect of derivatives without affecting the antidepressant mechanism of MEPS2.It is speculated that it may be related to carboxymethylated modifi cation. | Yu Qiu Yan Su Jia Song Fangming Mou Jia Gou Xiaoqi Geng Xinyue Li Zhiqiang Nie Jianxin Wang Yu Zheng Min Wang | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6: | 0
Primary Screening for Proteins Differentially Expressed in the Myocardium of a Rat Model of Acute Methamphetamine Intoxication显示文摘The mechanism of myocardial injury induced by the cardiovascular toxicity of methamphetamine(MA)has been shown to depend onalterations in myocardial proteins caused by MA.Primary screening of the expression of myocardial proteins in a rat model of MA intoxicationwas achieved by combining two‑dimensional electrophoresis and mass spectrometry analyses, which revealed a total of 100 differentiallyexpressed proteins.Of these,13 displayed significantly altered expression. Moreover,Western blotting and real‑time reverse transcriptionquantitative polymerase chain reaction analyses of several relative proteins demonstrated that acute MA intoxication lowers protein expressionand mRNA transcription of aldehyde dehydrogenase‑2 and NADH dehydrogenase(ubiquinone)1 alpha subcomplex subunit 10.In contrast,MA intoxication elevated the protein expression and mRNA transcription of heat shock protein family B(small)member 1.By combiningbehavioral assessments of experimental rat models with the histological and pathological changes evident in cardiomyocytes,a mechanismaccounting for MA myocardial toxicity was suggested.MA alters the regulation of gene transcription and the subsequent expression of certainproteins that participate in myocardial respiration and in responding to oxidative stress, resulting in myocardial dysfunction and structuralchanges that affect the functioning of the cardiovascular system. | Guoqiang Qu Sizhe Huang Liang Liu Tianshui Yu Rufeng Bai Hongxia Liu Fangming Song Yongqi Wen Haidong Zhang | 2016 | Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2016,2,3: | 0
Design and performance of an air inflatable suit in enhancing personal thermal management显示文摘Maintaining human thermal comfort in cold indoor environments is crucial but usually involves excessive energy consumption and massive greenhouse gas emissions. Thermoregulating the human body by using advanced clothing is emerging as a promising solution to effectively and energy-efficiently achieve personal thermal management. An air inflatable suit(AirST)using a series of air chambers as the thermal insert was developed for the purpose of adjusting clothing thermal insulation and hence improving personal thermal comfort. The thermal insulation regulating performance of AirST was investigated through thermal manikin tests and wear trials. Compared with the AirST without air inflation, AirST after inflation with air had a desired effect, which could not only increase local clothing thermal insulation by a range from 4.5% to 24.8% but also alleviate cold strain and provide significantly higher local skin temperatures, mean skin temperature and mean body temperature. After inflation, AirST successfully improved the whole-, upper-and lower-body thermal sensations in a cool environment. The acceptable heating setpoint temperature by the air conditioner could be decreased while using AirST with inflation, which saved approximately 30% of building energy consumption. As the AirST without air inflation can also be worn as regular windproof clothing, this versatility saved approximately 12 kg CO_(2)e emissions in the production process. | HE JiaZhen LU YeHu SU WenZhen WANG FangMing SONG WenFang WANG LaiLi WANG Min | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,9: | 0
