1A special numerical method for fluid-structure interaction problems subjected to explosion and impact loading显示文摘A three-dimensional(3D) embedded Eulerian-Lagrangian method is proposed to simulate the 3D fluid-structure interaction(FSI) problems subjected to explosion and impact loading. This method achieves a high-quality calculation of fluid and structure deformation by adding Lagrangian particles to Eulerian grids. The overall computational domain is solved by the Eulerian method, and the Lagrangian particles with specified volume and influence domains are used to track structural deformations. The bidirectional mapping of physical quantities is achieved using the weighted average of the influence domain, which are based on the topological relationship between Eulerian grids and Lagrangian particles. Then, the data dependence solution and parallel algorithm realization are presented for the large-scale numerical calculations of explosion and impact problems. Additionally, the corresponding parallel program is developed based on the message passing interface(MPI) standard, and the parallel efficiency of parallel hydrocode are tested. The numerical results of typical explosion and impact problems are compared with corresponding experimental data to verify the effectiveness of the method. These comparisons show that the embedded EulerianLagrangian method successfully combine the advantages of both the Eulerian and Lagrangian methods to efficiently calculate the processes of large deformation and dynamic damage to the materials. 2Acoustic sound speed profile inversion based on orthogonal matching pursuit显示文摘The estimation of ocean sound speed profiles(SSPs)requires the inversion of an acoustic field using limited observations.Such inverse problems are underdetermined,and require regularization to ensure physically realistic solutions.The empirical orthonormal function(EOF)is capable of a very large compression of the data set.In this paper,the non-linear response of the sound pressure to SSP is linearized using a first order Taylor expansion,and the pressure is expanded in a sparse domain using EOFs.Since the parameters of the inverse model are sparse,compressive sensing(CS)can help solve such underdetermined problems accurately,efficiently,and with enhanced resolution.Here,the orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP)is used to estimate range-independent acoustic SSPs using the simulated acoustic field.The superior resolution of OMP is demonstrated with the SSP data from the South China Sea experiment.By shortening the duration of the training set,the temporal correlation between EOF and test sets is enhanced,and the accuracy of sound velocity inversion is improved.The SSP estimation error versus depth is calculated,and the 99%confidence interval of error is within±0.6 m/s.The 82%of mean absolute error(MAE)is less than 1 m/s.It is shown that SSPs can be well estimated using OMP.Qianqian Li Juan Shi Zhenglin Li Yu Luo Fanlin Yang Kai Zhang 2019Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,11:4
3NANOINDENTATION SIMULATION OF PE/POSS UNDER DIFFERENT SHAPES OF INDENTERS显示文摘In this paper,the nanoindentation simulation on the two models of neat polyethylene(PE) and the polyethylene incorporated with 25wt% POSS(POSS-PE) is performed to reveal the reinforcing mechanism of the mechanical properties.The influence of the indenter shapes on nanoindentation is researched by using three different shapes of diamond indenters(cube-corner indenter,cylindrical indenter with spherical tip and cylindrical indenter with flat tip).The molecular mechanics method is adopted to eliminate the temperature effects.Under different indenters,the load-displacement responses,hardnesses(indentation hardness and Martens hardness) and Young's moduli of PE and POSS-PE are obtained.Compared with PE,all the mechanical properties are improved dramatically.Then,we analyze the source of loading drop phenomena and the enhancement mechanism of POSS.Furthermore,the result shows that the different shapes of indenters cause a large impact on indentation hardness,but a little impact on Martens hardness.And Young's modulus of the flat indenter is much larger than that of cube-corner indenter and spherical indenter.Enlai Hu Yi Sun Fanlin Zeng Jianmin Qu 2011Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2011,24,4:3
4Optimal dynamic pricing for smart grid having mixed customers with and without smart meters显示文摘This paper investigates an optimal day-ahead dynamic pricing problem in an electricity market with one electricity retailer and multiple customers. The main objective of this paper is to support the retailer to make the best day-ahead dynamic pricing decision, which maximizes its profit under the realistic assumption that mixed types of customers coexist in the electricity market where some customers have installed smart meters with the embedded home energy management system in their home whereas other customers have not installed smart meters. To this end, we propose a hybrid demand modelling framework which firstly uses an optimal energy management algorithm with bill minimization to model the behavior of customers with smart meters and secondly use a data-driven demand modelling method to model the behavior of customers without smart meters. Such a hybrid demand model can not only schedule usages of home appliances to the interests of customers with smart meters but also be used to understand electricity usage behaviors of customers without smart meters. Based on the established hybrid demand model for all customers, a profit maximization algorithm is developed to achieve optimal prices for the retailer under relevant market constraints. 5Experimental and theoretical investigation of the failure behavior of a reinforced concrete target under high-energy penetration显示文摘The dynamic mechanical properties of concrete and reinforced concrete targets subjected to high-speed projectile impact loading have a significant influence on the impact resistance of protective structures.In this study,high-speed projectile penetration and perforation of concrete and reinforced concrete structures was carried out to determine the high-energy impact loading.The failure behaviors of projectile penetration and perforation of the concrete and reinforced concrete targets were investigated,and the destruction characteristics of the targets were measured.An analytical model was established using the principle of minimum potential energy.The results show that the theoretical predictions are consistent with the experimental data,indicating that the energy method is effective for predicting the dynamic mechanical properties of concrete and reinforced concrete targets under high-speed projectile penetration.Fanlin Meng Tianbao Ma Xiangzhao Xu 2020Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,1:2

13Comparison of two Bayesian-point-estimation methods in multiple-source localization显示文摘Environmental uncertainty represents the limiting factor in matched-field localization. Within a Bayesian framework, both the environmental parameters, and the source parameters are considered to be unknown variables. However, including environmental parameters in multiple-source localization greatly increases the complexity and computational demands of the inverse problem. In the paper, the closed-form maximumlikelihood expressions for source strengths and noise variance at each frequency allow these parameters to be sampled implicitly, substantially reducing the dimensionality and difficulty of the inversion. This paper compares two Bayesian-point-estimation methods: the maximum a posteriori(MAP) approach and the marginal posterior probability density(PPD) approach to source localization. The MAP approach determines the sources locations by maximizing the PPD over all source and environmental parameters. The marginal PPD approach integrates the PPD over the unknowns to obtain a sequence of marginal probability distribution over source range or depth.Monte Carlo analysis of the two approaches for a test case involving both geoacoustic and water-column uncertainties indicates that:(1) For sensitive parameters such as source range, water depth and water sound speed, the MAP solution is better than the marginal PPD solution.(2) For the less sensitive parameters, such as,bottom sound speed, bottom density, bottom attenuation and water sound speed, when the SNR is low, the marginal PPD solution can better smooth the noise, which leads to better performance than the MAP solution.Since the source range and depth are sensitive parameters, the research shows that the MAP approach provides a slightly more reliable method to locate multiple sources in an unknown environment.LI Qianqian MING Pingshou YANG Fanlin ZHANG Kai WU Ziyin 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,6:1
14Comparative performances of new and existing indices of crown asymmetry:an evaluation using tall trees of Eucalyptus pilularis(Smith)显示文摘Over the past 50 years,crown asymmetry of forest trees has been evaluated through several indices constructed from the perspective of projected crown shape or displacement but often on an ad hoc basis to address specifi c objectives related to tree growth and competition,stand dynamics,stem form,crown structure and treefall risks.Although sharing some similarities,these indices are largely incoherent and non-comparable as they diff er not only in the scale but also in the direction of their values in indicating the degree of crown asymmetry.As the fi rst attempt at devising normative measures of crown asymmetry,we adopted a relative scale between 0 for perfect symmetry and 1 for extreme asymmetry.Five existing crown asymmetry indices(CAIs)were brought onto this relative scale after necessary modifi cations.Eight new CAIs were adapted from measures of circularity for digital images in computer graphics,indices of income inequality in economics,and a bilateral symmetry indicator in plant leaf morphology.The performances of the 13 CAIs were compared over diff erent numbers of measured crown radii for 30 projected crowns of mature Eucalyptus pilularis trees through benchmarking statistics and rank order correlation analysis.For each CAI,the index value based on the full measurement of 36 evenly spaced radii of a projected crown was taken as the true value in the benchmarking process.The index(CAI 13)adapted from the simple bilateral symmetry measure proved to be the least biased and most precise.Its performance was closely followed by that of three other CAIs.The minimum number of crown radii that is needed to provide at least an indicative measure of crown asymmetry is four.For more accurate and consistent measures,at least 6 or 8 crown radii are needed.The range of variability in crown morphology of the trees under investigation also needs to be taken into consideration.Although the CAIs are from projected crown radii,they can be readily extended to individual tree crown metrics that are now commonly extracted from LiDAR and other remotely sensed data.Adding a normative measure of crown asymmetry to individual tree crown metrics will facilitate the process of big data analytics and artifi cial intelligence in forestry wherever crown morphology is among the factors to be considered for decision making in forest management.Fanlin Kong Huiquan Bi Michael McLean Fengri Li 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,1:1
15The binding epitope of sintilimab on PD-1 revealed by AbMap显示文摘PD-1 plays an important role as an immune checkpoint.Sintilimab is a newly approved PD-1 antibody for cancer immunotherapy with an unknown binding epitope on PD-1.In this study,to elucidate the molecular mechanism by which sintilimab blocks PD-1 activation,we applied Antibody binding epitope Mapping(AbMap)to identify the binding epitope of sintilimab.An epitope was successfully identified,i.e.SLAPKA,aa 127-132.By constructing a series of point mutations,the dominant residues S127,L128,A129,P130,and A132 of PD-1 were further validated by western blot analysis,biolayer interferometry,and flow cytometry.Structural analysis showed that the epitope is partially within the binding interface of PD-1 and PD-L1,and this epitope also partially overlaps with that of nivolumab and pembrolizumab.These results demonstrate that sintilimab can attenuate PD-1 activation by directly competing with the interaction between PD-1 and PD-L1 through binding with the key residues of the FG loop on PD-1.This study also demonstrates the high efficiency and accuracy of AbMap for determining the binding epitope of therapeutic antibodies.Mingliang Ma Huan Qi Chuansheng Hu Zhaowei Xu Fanlin Wu Nan Wang Danyun Lai Yang Li Hainan Zhang Hewei Jiang Qingfeng Meng Shujuan Guo Yani Kang Xiaodong Zhao Hua Li Sheng-ce Tao 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,5:1

17Microstructure evolution and corrosion resistance of AZ31 magnesium alloy tube by stagger spinning显示文摘This study fabricates an AZ31 magnesium alloy tube by spinning technology-power stagger forward spinning.The microstructure evolution of the tube is investigated by combining electron backscatter diffraction and transmission electron microscopy analysis,and the corrosion resistance is measured by an electrochemical corrosion test.Results show that the grains are obviously more uniform and finer along the wall thickness’s direction of the AZ31 alloy tube after the third spinning pass.The number of twins ascends first and then descends,while the varying trend of low-angle grain boundaries(LAGBs)is opposite to that of the twins as the spinning pass increases.With the increase of the total spinning deformation,the deformation texture initially increases and the c-axis of the{0001}crystal plane gradually rotates to the axial direction of the tube;the deformation texture then decreases and the orientation of grains becomes more random.The main mechanism of grain refinement is dynamic recrystallization by the twin-induced way and bowing out of the nucleation at grain boundaries during the first and second pass.However,the dominant mechanism of the refined grain is the high-temperature dynamic recovery in the third pass,and the microstructure mainly consists of substructured grains.After the spinning deformation,the corrosion resistance of the AZ31 alloy tube decreases due to the combined effect of twins and high density-dislocations.Fanlin Zheng Hongsheng Chen Yuanqi Zhang Wenxian Wang Huihui Nie 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,7:1

19MULTISCALE SIMULATION OF INCIPIENT PLASTICITY AND DISLOCATION NUCLEATION ON NICKEL FILM DURING TILTED FLAT-ENDED NANOINDENTATION显示文摘Multiscale simulations of the tilted flat-ended nanoindentation with different tilted angles(from 5?~30?) on the(-1 1 0) surface of nickel crystal were studied using the QC method.The model of the indentation is a flat-end indenter inclined by an angle ε driven into a halfplane vertically. Load-displacement responses, initial stages of the plasticity deformations and dislocation emissions for nickel film at different inclined angles were obtained and analyzed as well.An energy criterion was successfully proposed to analyze the critical load for the first dislocation emission beneath the edge of the indenter. Simulation results agree well with analytical ones.An elastic model based on the contact theory and the Peierls-Nabarro dislocation model were combined to analyze when and where the dislocation will be emitted beneath the lower surface of an inclined indenter. Results indicate that the key parameter is the ratio of the contact halfwidth to the position of the slip plane. This parameter shows the range in which a dislocation will probably be emitted. This mechanism explains the simulation results well.
