Space experimental investigation on thermocapillary migration of bubbles显示文摘Results from a space experiment on bubble thermocapillary migration conducted on board the Chinese 22nd recoverable satellite were presented. Considering the temperature field in the cell was disturbed by the accumulated bubbles, the temperature gradient was corrected firstly with the help of the temperature measurement data at six points and numerical simulation. Marangoni number (Ma) of single bubble migrating in the space experiment ranged from 98.04 to 9288, exceeding that in the previous experiment data. The experiment data including the track and the velocity of two bubble thermocapillary migration showed that a smaller bubble would move slower as it was passed by a larger one, and the smaller one would even rest in a short time when the size ratio was large enough. | CUI HaiLiang HU Liang DUAN Li KANG Qi HU WenRui | 2008 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,7: | 4
Study on flow characteristics of solid/liquid system in lysozyme crystal growth显示文摘During the process of lysozyme protein crystallization with batch method, the macroscopic flow field of solid/liquid system was observed by particle image velocimetry(PIV). Furthermore,a normal growth rate of(110) face and local flow field around a single protein crystal were obtained by a long work dis-tance microscope. The experimental results showed that the average velocity, the maximal velocity of macroscopic solid/liquid system and the velocity of local flow field around single protein crystal were fluctuant. The effective boundary layer thickness δeff, the concentration at the interface Ci and the characteristic velocity V were calculated using a convection-diffusion model. The results showed that the growth of lysozyme crystal in this experiment was dominated by interfacial kinetics rather than bulk transport, and the function of buoyancy-driven flow in bulk transport was small, however, the effect of bulk transport in crystal growth had a tendency to increase with the increase of lysozyme concentra-tion. The calculated results also showed that the order of magnitude of shear force was about 10-21 N,which was much less than the bond force between the lysozyme molecules. Therefore the shear force induced by buoyancy-driven flows cannot remove the protein molecules from the interface of crystal. | CUI HaiLiang YU Yong CHEN WanChun KANG Qi | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,9: | 1
VprBP mitigates TGF-β and Activin signaling by promoting Smurf1-mediated type Ⅰ receptor degradation显示文摘The transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)family controls embryogenesis, stem cell differentiation, and tissue homeostasis. However, how post-translation modifications contribute to fine-tuning of TGF-βfamily signaling responses is not well understood.Inhibitory(I)-Smads can antagonize TGF-β/Smad signaling by recruiting Smurf E3 ubiquitin ligases to target the active TGF-βreceptor for proteasomal degradation.A proteomic interaction screen identified Vpr binding protein(VprBP)as novel binding partner of Smad7.Mis-expression studies revealed that VprBP negatively controls Smad2 phosphorylation,Smad2–Smad4 interaction,as well as TGF-βtarget gene expression.VprBP was found to promote Smad7–Smurf1–TβRI complex formation and induce proteasomal degradation of TGF-βtype I receptor(TβRI).Moreover,VprBP appears to stabilize Smurf1 by suppressing Smurf1 poly-ubiquitination.In multiple adult and mouse embryonic stem cells, depletion of VprBP promotes TGF-βor Activin-induced responses. In the mouse embryo VprBP expression negatively correlates with mesoderm marker expression, and VprBP attenuated mesoderm induction during zebrafish embryogenesis. Our findings thereby uncover a novel regulatory mechanism by which Smurf1 controls the TGF-βand Activin cascade and identify VprBP as a critical determinant of embryonic mesoderm induction. | Yihao Li Chao Cui Feng Xie Szymon Kietbasa Hailiang Mei Maarten van Dinther Hans van Dam Andreas Bauer Long Zhang Peterten Dijke | 2020 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,2: | 1

Rambutan-like hierarchically porous carbon microsphere as electrodematerial for high-performance supercapacitors显示文摘Used as high-performance electrodes, both structural and compositional alterations of carbon materials play very important roles in energy conversion/storage devices.Especially in supercapacitors, hierarchical pores and heteroatom doping in carbon materials are indispensable. Here the rambutan-like hierarchically porous carbon microspheres(PCMs)have been constructed via a hydrothermal treatment, followed by carbonization/activation.The hierarchically porous microstructure is composed of three-dimensional porous carbon networks, which give rise to a large surface area. Moreover,N and O functional groups are introduced in the as-prepared samples, which could generate the extra pseudocapacitance.Benefitting from the interconnected hierarchical and open structure,PCM exhibits outstanding capacitive performance, for example, superior specific capacitance and rate capability(397 and 288 F g^(−1) at 0.5 and 20A g^(−1),respectively),as well as long cycling stability(about 95%capacitance retention after 10,000 cycles). These encouraging results may pave an efficient way to fabricate advanced supercapacitors in the future. | Chunfeng Shao Shujun Qiu Guiming Wu Boyang Cui Hailiang Chu Yongjin Zou Cuili Xiang Fen Xu Lixian Sun | 2021 | Carbon Energy2021,3,2: | 1
Comparative Analyses and Phylogenetic Relationships between Cryptomeria fortunei and Related Species Based on Complete Chloroplast Genomes显示文摘Cryptomeria fortunei(Chinese cedar)is a highly adaptable woody species and one of the main forest plantation trees in subtropical high-altitude areas in China. However, there are few studies on its chloroplast(cp)genome. In this study, the complete cp genome of C.fortunei was sequenced and evaluated via comparative analyses with those of related species(formerly the Taxodiaceae)in Cupressaceae. The C.fortunei cp genome was 131,580 bp in length, and the GC content of the whole genome was 35.38%.It lost one relevant large inverted repeat and contained 114 unique genes, including 82 protein-coding genes,28 tRNAs and 4 rRNAs.The relative synonymous codon usage(RSCU)of codons ending with A/U was more than twice that of codons ending with G/C.Thirty long repeat structures(LRSs)and 213 simple sequence repeat(SSR)loci were detected in the C.fortunei cp genome.Comparative analyses of 10 cp genomes revealed that substantial rearrangements occurred in the gene organization.Additionally,6 cp hotspot regions(trnS-GGA,ycf1,trnP-GGG,trnC-GCA,psbZ and accD)were identified, and 4 genes(petL,psbM,rpl22 and psaM)had likely underwent positive selection.Phylogenetic analysis showed that Cupressaceae,Taxaceae and Cephalotaxaceae clustered to form a clade and that C.fortunei was most closely related to C.japonica(Japanese cedar),C.japonica cv.Wogon Hort and Taxodium distichum(baldcypress). These results provide references for future studies of population genetics, phylogenetic status and molecular markers among Cupressaceae species and for the cultivation of improved varieties. | Yingting Zhang Junjie Yang Zhenhao Guo Jiaxing Mo Jiebing Cui Hailiang Hu Jin Xu | 2020 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,4: | 0
Single-atomic Mn sites coupled with Fe_(3)C nanoparticles encapsulated in carbon matrixes derived from bimetallic Mn/Fe polyphthalocyanine conjugated polymer networks for accelerating electrocatalytic oxygen reduction显示文摘The construction of robust coupling catalysts for accelerating electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)through the modulation of the electronic structure and local atomic configuration is critical but remains challenging.Herein,we report a facile and effective isolation-polymerization-pyrolysis(IPP)strategy for high-precision synthesis of single-atomic Mn sites coupled with Fe_(3)C nanoparticles encapsulated in N-doped porous carbon matrixes(Mn SAs/Fe_(3)C NPs@NPC)catalyst derived from predesigned bimetallic Fe/Mn polyphthalocyanine(FeMn-BPPc)conjugated polymer networks by solid-phase reaction approach.Benefiting from the synergistic effects between the single-atomic Mn-N_(4)sites and Fe_(3)C NPs as well as the confinement effect of NPC,the Mn SAs/Fe_(3)C NPs@NPC catalyst exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity and stability for ORR.The assembled Znair battery displayed larger power density of 186 mW·cm^(−2)than that of Pt/C+Ir/C-based battery. It also exhibits excellent stability without obvious voltage change after 106 cycles with 36 h.Combing in-situ Raman spectra with in-situ attenuated total reflectance surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy(ATR-SEIRAS)characterization results indicated that the Mn-N_(4)site as an active site for the O_(2)adsorption-activation process, which effectively facilitates the generation of key*OOH intermediates and*OH desorption to promote the multielectron reaction kinetics.Theoretical calculation reveals that the excellent electrocatalytic performance originates from the charge redistribution and the d orbital shift resulting from Mn-Fe bond, which buffers the activity of ORR through the electron reservoir capable of electron donation or releasing. This work paves a novel IPP strategy for constructing high-performance coupling electrocatalyst towards the ORR for energy conversion devices. | Yuan Pan Min Li Wanliang Mi Minmin Wang Junxi Li Yilin Zhao Xuelu Ma Bin Wang Wei Zhu Zhiming Cui Hailiang Yin Yunqi Liu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,9: | 0
Bioinspired Multifunctional Self-Sensing Actuated Gradient Hydrogel for Soft-Hard Robot Remote Interaction显示文摘The development of bioinspired gradient hydrogels with self-sensing actuated capabilities for remote interaction with soft-hard robots remains a challenging endeavor. Here, we propose a novel multifunctional self-sensing actuated gradient hydrogel that combines ultrafast actuation and high sensitivity for remote interaction with robotic hand. The gradient network structure, achieved through a wettability difference method involving the rapid precipitation of MoO_(2) nanosheets, introduces hydrophilic disparities between two sides within hydrogel. This distinctive approach bestows the hydrogel with ultrafast thermo-responsive actuation(21° s^(-1)) and enhanced photothermal efficiency(increase by 3.7 ℃ s^(-1) under 808 nm near-infrared). Moreover, the local cross-linking of sodium alginate with Ca^(2+) endows the hydrogel with programmable deformability and information display capabilities. Additionally, the hydrogel exhibits high sensitivity(gauge factor 3.94 within a wide strain range of 600%), fast response times(140 ms) and good cycling stability. Leveraging these exceptional properties, we incorporate the hydrogel into various soft actuators, including soft gripper, artificial iris, and bioinspired jellyfish, as well as wearable electronics capable of precise human motion and physiological signal detection. Furthermore, through the synergistic combination of remarkable actuation and sensitivity, we realize a self-sensing touch bioinspired tongue. Notably, by employing quantitative analysis of actuation-sensing, we realize remote interaction between soft-hard robot via the Internet of Things. The multifunctional self-sensing actuated gradient hydrogel presented in this study provides a new insight for advanced somatosensory materials, self-feedback intelligent soft robots and human–machine interactions. | He Liu Haoxiang Chu Hailiang Yuan Deliang Li Weisi Deng Zhiwei Fu Ruonan Liu Yiying Liu Yixuan Han Yanpeng Wang Yue Zhao Xiaoyu Cui Ye Tian | 2024 | Nano-Micro Letters2024,16,4: | 0
