| 1 | The characteristic periodicity analysis of the radio flux variability of quasar PKS 1510-089显示文摘A wavelet analysis method is introduced to study the possible periods of PKS 1510-089 in radio bands. By compiling the radio light curve of PKS 1510-089 at frequencies of 22 and 37 GHz from 1990 to 2005, and using the wavelet analysis method, the evidence of quasi-periodic activity in PKS 1510-089 was obtained. The results indicate that: (1) There are two stable outburst periods of T1=(1.80±0.06) yr and T2= (0.90±0.07) yr presenting in the isoplethal map of PKS 1510-089 at the radio band 37 GHz; (2) there is an outburst period of T1=(1.80±0.06) yr presenting at the radio band 22 GHz; (3) by the continuum of the isograms map, we find the primary period of PKS 1510-089 is T1=(1.80±0.06) yr, and the period of T2= (0.90±0.07) yr may be the half period. The above results are consistent with the reports of Xie et al. (2004, 2005, 2008), Wu et al. (2005) and Liu & Fan (2007), using the other methods. | 10 | Identification and mapping of soybean and maize crops based on Sentinel-2 data显示文摘Soybean and maize are important raw materials for the production of food and livestock feed.Accurate mapping of these two crops is of great significance to crop management,yield estimation,and crop-damage control.In this study,two towns in Guoyang County,Anhui Province,China,were selected as the study area,and Sentinel-2 images were adopted to map the distributions of both crops in the 2019 growing season.The data obtained on August 18(early pod-setting stage of soybean)was determined to be the most applicable to soybean and maize mapping by means of the Jeffries-Matusita(JM)distance.Subsequently,three machine-learning algorithms,i.e.,random forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM)and back-propagation neural network(BPNN)were employed and their respective performance in crop identification was evaluated with the aid of 254 ground truth plots.It appeared that RF with a Kappa of 0.83 was superior to the other two methods.Furthermore,twenty candidate features containing the reflectance of ten spectral bands(spatial resolution at 10 m or 20 m)and ten remote-sensing indices were input into the RF algorithm to conduct an important assessment.Seven features were screened out and served as the optimum subset,the mapping results of which were assessed based on the ground truth derived from the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)images covering six ground samples.The optimum feature-subset achieved high-accuracy crop mapping,with a reduction of data volume by 65%compared with the total twenty features,which also overrode the performance of ten spectral bands.Therefore,feature-optimization had great potential in the identification of the two crops.Generally,the findings of this study can provide a valuable reference for mapping soybean and maize in areas with a fragmented landscape of farmland and complex planting structure. | Bao She Yuying Yang Zhigen Zhao Linsheng Huang Dong Liang Dongyan Zhang | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,6: | 0 |
| 11 | Plant-derived squalene supplementation improves growth performance and alleviates acute oxidative stress-induced growth retardation and intestinal damage in piglets显示文摘Piglets are particularly susceptible to oxidative stress,which causes inferior growth performance and intestinal damage.Squalene(SQ),a natural bioactive substance enriched in shark liver oil,shows excellent antioxidant properties and can currently be obtained at a low cost from deodorizer distillate during the production of plant oil.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of plant-derived SQ supplementation on the growth performance of piglets and explore the beneficial roles of SQ against oxidative stress and intestinal injury in diquat-challenged piglets.Forty piglets were randomly divided into five groups and fed a basal diet supplemented with SQ at 0,500,1000,or 2000 mg/kg for 5 weeks.Acute oxidative stress was induced in the piglets with diquat(10 mg/kg BW)at the fourth week of the experiment,followed by a 7-d recovery period.Results showed that before the diquat challenge,SQ supplementation significantly improved growth performance(average daily gain and feed conversion ratio)and serum antioxidant status,and after the diquat challenge,SQ supplementation significantly mitigated diquat-induced growth arrest,intestinal villous atrophy,intestinal epithelial cell apoptosis,intestinal hyperpermeability,and deficiency of intestinal epithelial tight junction proteins(zonula occludens-1,occludin,and claudin-3).Under oxidative stress induced by diquat,SQ supplementation consistently improved the antioxidant status of the small intestine,liver,and muscle.In vitro,SQ was shown to alleviate hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)-induced increase of the levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species and apoptosis of porcine intestinal epithelial cells.Taken together,SQ supplementation improves growth performance and effectively alleviates acute oxidative stress-induced growth retardation and intestinal injury via improving antioxidant capacity in piglets.Our findings may provide an efficient strategy for alleviating oxidative stress-induced inferior growth performance and intestinal damage in piglets. | Junquan Tian Qian Jiang Xuetai Bao Fan Yang Yuying Li Haihui Sun Kang Yao Yulong Yin | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,4: | 0 |
