1β-Glucosidase treatment and infestation by the rice brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens elicit similar signaling pathways in rice plants显示文摘β-Glucosidase has been reported to induce the production of herbivore-induced plant volatiles. How-ever, how it works remains unclear. Here, we investigated the levels of salicylic acid (SA), jasmonic acid (JA), ethylene, and H2O2, all of which are known signaling molecules that play important roles in in-duced plant defense in rice plants treated with β-glucosidase, and compared these to levels in plants infested by the rice brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens (Stl). Results showed that wounding and treatment by β-glucosidase increased the levels of SA, ethylene, and H2O2, but not JA, in all plants compared to control plants. The signaling pathways activated by β-glucosidase treatment are similar to those activated by an infestation by N. lugens, although the magnitude and timing of the signals elicited by the two treatments are different. 2Imaging-Based Characterization of Perthite in the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation Tight Sandstone of the Ordos Basin,China显示文摘This work investigated the element distribution of perthite from the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation tight sandstone in the Ordos Basin of northern China by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS). FE-SEM results indicate significant differences in the morphology of Na-rich feldspar when K-rich feldspar is the main component of the perthite. EDS results show that different types of perthite have clearly defined differences on different element indexes. Additionally, indexes such as average-weight-K(K-rich)/Na(Na-rich), maximumweight-K(Na-rich)/Na(Na-rich) and average-atomic-K(K-rich)/Na(Na-rich) might be the most effective ones to identify perthite types. 4Separation-enrichment method for airborne disease spores based on microfluidic chip显示文摘Airborne diseases are likely to cause crop yield reduction,which has aroused widespread concern.In this study,a two-stage separation-enrichment structure microfluidic chip with a compound field for separation and enrichment of the greenhouse crops airborne disease spores directly from gas flow was developed.The chip is mainly composed of three parts:arc structure pretreatment channel,semicircular electrode structure and collection tank.COMSOL 5.1 software was used to simulate the designed microfluidic chip.30μm particles were used to represent P.xanthii spores,25μm particles were used to represent P.cubensis spores,and 16μm particles were used to represent B.cinerea spores.The simulation results showed that the separation and enrichment efficiency of 16μm particles,25μm particles,and 30μm particles was 88%,91%,and 94%,respectively.The experimental verification results were observed under a microscope.The results showed that the separation and enrichment efficiency of B.cinereal spores,P.cubensis spores and P.xanthii spores was 75.7%,83.8%and 89.4%,respectively.As a result,the designed microfluidic chip can be used to separate and enrich the spores of airborne diseases of greenhouse crops,which can provide a basis for the research of real-time monitoring technology for greenhouse airborne diseases.Yafei Wang Xiaodong Zhang Ning Yang Guoxin Ma Xiaoxue Du Hanping Mao 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,5:1

6A meta-analysis of caspase-8-652 6N del polymorphism and digestive tract cancer risk显示文摘Caspase-8(CASP8) is one key regulator of apoptosis of T lymphocytes and is encoded by the CASP8 gene. It has been reported that the six-nucleotide deletion polymorphism(-652 6 N del) of the CASP8 gene had effect on some cancer risk. Few studies explored the association between CASP8 gene polymorphism and digestive tract cancer risk.To evaluate the association between the CASP8-652 6 N del polymorphism and the risk of digestive tract cancer, we conducted this meta-analysis. We found that CASP8-652 6 N del polymorphism was associated with a significantly reduced risk of digestive tract cancer in the co-dominant model(del/del vs. ins/ins: OR= 0.82, 95%CI= 0.72-0.95;del/ins vs. ins/ins: OR = 0.92,95%CI = 0.87-0.97;dominant model(del/ins + del/del vs. ins/ins: OR = 0.91,95%CI =0.87-0.96, recessive model: del/del vs. del/ins + ins/ins: OR = 0.85, 95%CI = 0.75-0.97). In the stratified analysis by cancer types, we found that all genetic models had protective effect on gastric cancer. Similar results were observed for colorectal cancer under heterozygote comparison and dominant model, but not under homozygote comparison or recessive model. In addition, a significantly decreased risk was found on esophageal cancer for most genetic models,except heterozygote comparison. When stratified by ethnicity and source of control, an evidently decreased risk was identified in the Asian populations and population-based studies. 7Recognition of weeds at asparagus fields using multi-feature fusion and backpropagation neural network显示文摘In order to solve the problem of low recognition rates of weeds by a single feature,a method was proposed in this study to identify weeds in Asparagus(Asparagus officinalis L.)field using multi-feature fusion and backpropagation neural network(BPNN).A total of 382 images of weeds competing with asparagus growth were collected,including 135 of Cirsium arvense(L.)Scop.,138 of Conyza sumatrensis(Retz.)E.Walker,and 109 of Calystegia hederacea Wall.The grayscale images were extracted from the RGB images of weeds using the 2G-R-B factor.Threshold segmentation of the grayscale image of weeds was applied using Otsu method.Then the internal holes of the leaves were filled through the expansion and corrosion morphological operations,and other interference targets were removed to obtain the binary image.The foreground image was obtained by masking the binary image and the RGB image.Then,the color moment algorithm was used to extract weeds color feature,the gray level co-occurrence matrix and the Local Binary Pattern(LBP)algorithm was used to extract weeds texture features,and seven Hu invariant moment features and the roundness and slenderness ratio of weeds were extracted as their shape features.According to the shape,color,texture,and fusion features of the test samples,a weed identification model was built.The test results showed that the recognition rate of Cirsium arvense(L.)Scop.,Calystegia hederacea Wall.and Conyza sumatrensis(Retz.)E.Walker were 82.72%(color feature),72.41%(shape feature),86.73%(texture feature)and 93.51%(fusion feature),respectively.Therefore,this method can provide a reference for the study of weeds identification in the asparagus field.Yafei Wang Xiaodong Zhang Guoxin Ma Xiaoxue Du Naila Shaheen Hanping Mao 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,4:0
8PDGFR kinase inhibitor protects against septic death via regulation of BTLA显示文摘Sepsis,defined as life-threatening organ failure caused by a dysregulated host response to severe infection,is a major cause of death among intensive care unit patients.Therapies targeting on immunomodulatory is a new research field in sepsis treatment.B-and T-lymphocyte attenuator(BTLA)is an inhibitory costimulatory factor molecule of B and T lymphocytes.Studies have shown that elevated expression of BTLA in lymphocytes can reduce mortality in sepsis,but its regulatory compounds and the underlying mechanism remains to be elucidated.Here,we show that treatment with CP-673451 significantly decreases mortality of septic mouse.CP-673451 is a PDGFR kinase inhibitor which can promote the expression of BTLA,inhibit the release of chemokines such as CXCL13,and reduce first the chemotaxis of B cells to the peripheral blood and vital organs.CP-673451 also inhibits both the release of cytokines and chemokines such as IL-1β,IL-6,IL-10,TNF-α,CCL1,CCL2 and CCL7 and reduces both the chemotactic ability of T cells.This suggests that CP-673451 may prevent septic death by inhibiting lymphocyte chemotaxis and alleviating“cytokine storm”.In conclusion,our study provides a new therapeutic target and an effective compound for sepsis treatment.Qiang Wang Jin Deng Jianhui Sun Huacai Zhang Di Liu Chu Gao Jinchao Qiu Wenyi Liu Guoxin Qu Dalin Wen Juan Du Anqiang Zhang Ling Zeng Jianxin Jiang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,10:0
9Highly sensitive detection of daminozide using terahertz metamaterial sensors显示文摘In order to solve the problems of low sensitivity and complex sample pretreatment in traditional detection,a method was proposed in this study to detect daminozide using terahertz combined with a metamaterial sensor,which enables real-time and label-free molecular detection with high sensitivity.The correlation between the transmission frequency shift and absorbance of daminozide solution at different concentrations was analyzed.The simulation and experimental results showed that this metamaterial sensor could achieve highly sensitive sensing of daminozide solutions at 0.05 mg/L.The maximum quality factor(Q_(max))of the two peaks could reach 5.78 and 13.05,and the maximum figure of merit(FOM)of the two peaks can reach 0.82 and 1.72.The maximum sensitivity of two resonance peaks reached 38.148 GHz/(mg·L)and 133.516 GHz/(mg·L)when the concentration of daminozide in the solution was 2000 mg/L.There was an obvious positive correlation between the transmission and transmission,frequency shift and frequency shift,and absorbance and absorbance of the resonance peak of daminozide solutions.Therefore,this platform not only opens up new possibilities for the microanalysis of the chemical composition of substances in solutions but also provides a valuable reference for the design of other metamaterial-based sensors in the field of food safety.Hanping Mao Xiaoxue Du Yuting Yan Xiaodong Zhang Guoxin Ma Yafei Wang Yong Liu Bin Wang Xiaoyue Yang Qiang Shi 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6:0
