1TiN Paper for Ultrafast-Charging Supercapacitors显示文摘Ultrafast-charging energy storage devices are attractive for powering personal electronics and electric vehicles.Most ultrafast-charging devices are made of carbonaceous materials such as chemically converted graphene and carbon nanotubes.Yet,their relatively low electrical conductivity may restrict their performance at ultrahigh charging rate.Here,we report the fabrication of a porous titanium nitride(TiN)paper as an alternative electrode material for ultrafast-charging devices.The TiN paper shows an excellent conductivity of 3.67×104 S m−1,which is considerably higher than most carbon-based electrodes.The paper-like structure also contains a combination of large pores between interconnected nanobelts and mesopores within the nanobelts.This unique electrode enables fast charging by simultaneously providing efficient ion diffusion and electron transport.The supercapacitors(SCs)made of TiN paper enable charging/discharging at an ultrahigh scan rate of 100 V s−1 in a wide voltage window of 1.5 V in Na2SO4 neutral electrolyte.It has an outstanding response time with a characteristic time constant of 4 ms.Significantly,the TiN paper-based SCs also show zero capacitance loss after 200,000 cycles,which is much better than the stability performance reported for other metal nitride SCs.Furthermore,the device shows great promise in scalability.The filtration method enables good control of the thickness and mass loading of TiN electrodes and devices.Bin Yao Mingyang Li Jing Zhang Lei Zhang Yu Song Wang Xiao Andrea Cruz Yexiang Tong Yat Li 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,1:3

113D extrusion of multi-biomaterial lattices using an environmentally informed workflow显示文摘The conventional building material palette has been proven limited in terms of adaptability to our current environmental challenges. Innovations in computational design and digital manufacturing have supported the broadening of biomaterial applications as an alternative. While biomaterials are characteristically responsive to stimuli such as temperature and humidity, their unpredictable behaviour is a hurdle to standardization and architectural utilisation. To examine the nexus between material formulation, computation and manufacturing, multi-biomaterial lattice structures were produced through an environmentally informed workflow. Customized biomaterial development resulted in three candidate biopolymer blends with varying levels of hydro-responsiveness and transparency. The computational strategy included a machine learning clustering algorithm to customise results and dictate material distribution outputs. To test the workflow, environmental data of solar radiation exposure and solar heat gain from a specific location was used to inform the material deposition via pneumatic extrusion for the design and digital fabrication of a deformation-controlled prototype of 350 mm × 350 mm. This led to a series of multi-biomaterial wall panel components that can be applied at architectural scale. 12Traps and trumps from adjacent-to-tumor samples in gastric cancer research显示文摘The search for cancer biomarkers is frequently based on comparisons between tumors and adjacent-to-tumor samples. However, even after histological confirmation of been free of cancer cells, these adjacent-to-tumor samples might harbor molecular alterations which are not sufficient to cause them to look like cancer, but can differentiate these cells from normal cells. When comparing them, potential biomarkers are missed, and mainly the opportunity of finding initial aberrations presents in both tumors and adjacent samples, but not in true normal samples from non-cancer patients, resulting in misinterpretations about the carcinogenic process. Nevertheless,collecting adjacent-to-tumor samples brings trumps to be explored. The addition of samples from non-cancer patients opens an opportunity to increase the finds of the molecular cascade of events in the carcinogenic process.Differences between normal samples and adjacent samples might represent the first steps of the carcinogenic process.
