| 2 | Status and perspectives of hierarchical porous carbon materials in terms of high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,although a promising candidate of next-generation energy storage devices,are hindered by some bottlenecks in their roadmap toward commercialization.The key challenges include solving the issues such as low utilization of active materials,poor cyclic stability,poor rate performance,and unsatisfactory Coulombic efficiency due to the inherent poor electrical and ionic conductivity of sulfur and its discharged products(e.g.,Li2S2 and Li_(2)S),dissolution and migration of polysulfide ions in the electrolyte,unstable solid electrolyte interphase and dendritic growth on an odes,and volume change in both cathodes and anodes.Owing to the high specific surface area,pore volume,low density,good chemical stability,and particularly multimodal pore sizes,hierarchical porous carbon(HPC)mate rials have received considerable attention for circumventing the above pro blems in Li-S batteries.Herein,recent progress made in the synthetic methods and deployment of HPC materials for various components including sulfur cathodes,separators and interlayers,and lithium anodes in Li-S batteries is presented and summarized.More importantly,the correlation between the structures(pore volume,specific surface area,degree of pores,and heteroatom-doping)of HPC and the electrochemical performances of Li-S batteries is elaborated.Finally,a discussion on the challenges and future perspectives associated with HPCs for Li-S batteries is provided. | Yinyu Xiang Liqiang Lu Ajay Giri Prakash Kottapalli Yutao Pei | 2022 | Carbon Energy2022,4,3: | 3 |
| 3 | A Comprehensive Review of Animal Models for Coronaviruses: SARSCoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV显示文摘The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease(COVID-19) caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) has already affected a large population of the world. SARS-CoV-2 belongs to the same family of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERSCoV). COVID-19 has a complex pathology involving severe acute respiratory infection, hyper-immune response, and coagulopathy. At present, there is no therapeutic drug or vaccine approved for the disease. There is an urgent need for an ideal animal model that can reflect clinical symptoms and underlying etiopathogenesis similar to COVID-19 patients which can be further used for evaluation of underlying mechanisms, potential vaccines, and therapeutic strategies. | 6 | Silica Induced Early Fibrogenic Reaction in Lung of Mice Ameliorated by Nyctanthes arbortristis Extract显示文摘Objective To investigate the pharmacological effect of Nyctanthes arbortristis (NAT) leaf extract in the prevention of lung injury induced by silica particles. Method Lung injury was induced in Swiss mice through inhalation exposure to silica particles (<5m) using a Flow Past Nose Only Inhalation Chamber at the rate of -10 mg/m3 respirable mass for 5 h. Lung bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid collected between 48 and 72 h was subjected to protein profiling by electrophoresis and cytokine evaluation by solid phase sandwich ELISA. Lung histopathology was performed to evaluate lung injury. Results Inhalation of silica increased the level of tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a), and of the 66 and 63 kDa peptides in the BAL fluid in comparison to sham-treated control. Pre-treatment of silica exposed mice with NAT leaf extract significantly prevented the accumulation of TNF-a in the BAL fluid, but the 66 and 63 kDa peptides remained unchanged. The extract was also effective in the prevention of silica-induced early fibrogenic reactions like congestion, edema and infiltration of nucleated cells in the interstitial alveolar spaces, and thickening of alveolar septa in mouse lung. | 16 | Assessment of long-term climate variability and its impact on the decadal growth of horticultural crops in central India显示文摘Background:The impact of climate change on horticultural production is of utmost concern worldwide.One such vulnerable region of horticultural importance is the Madhya Pradesh state in the central part of India.It is crucial to analyse the long-term trend in climatic variations and its effect on horticultural crop production.Therefore,this study focuses on detecting trends in mean annual precipitation and temperature of 115 years for the 15 districts covering all the regions of the state as well as projections of all the Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP)climatic scenarios for 2050 and 2080 of Madhya Pradesh state.The decadal(2010–2020)insight into the area and production of horticultural crops is undertaken which will help forecasting the future growth trend.For a better insight,case study on four horticultural crops is undertaken to assess their decadal growth trend vis-à-vis climate parameters in these 15 districts.Results:The Mann–Kendall test for 1901–2016 and Sen’s slope indicated a non-significant change in long-term trend for precipitation except for increasing change in Khargone and decreasing change in Rewa districts.Signifi-cant increasing trend of average temperature is obtained for Hoshangabad,Jabalpur,Sagar and Rewa districts.The Sen’s slope indicated an increase of 0.005 to 0.009℃for maximum temperature and 0.005 to 0.012℃for minimum temperature annually.The projections of all the RCP climate scenarios for the years 2050 and 2080 indicated non-significant variation in precipitation but an increase in maximum(1.4 to 4.1℃)and minimum(1.45 to 4.65℃)annual temperatures.An increasing trend in area and production for horticultural crops is also observed in central India for the study period.There is yield increase in all the crops selected in case study except for potato,which recorded a decreased yield between the years 2010–2015.Conclusion:The Mann–Kendall test and projections indicate towards climate change with a temperature rise.Though the decadal study indicates an increasing trend in horticultural crops,the districts identified to be affected by climate change need to have a plan to lessen the horticultural loss in the state.This study contributes to understand-ing the future climate change trends and its impact on horticultural crop production to formulate various adaptation strategies. | Gaurav Sharma Amita Sharma Nishant Kumar Sinha Om Prakash Sharma Ashutosh Singh Ajai Kumar Pandey Abhishek Kumar Sudhir Kumar Trivedi Bharti Sao Mukesh Kumar Sahu | 2022 | Ecological Processes2022,11,1: | 0 |
| 17 | Is de novo membranous nephropathy suggestive of alloimmunity in renal transplantation?A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Post-transplant nephrotic syndrome(PTNS)in a renal allograft carries a 48%to 77%risk of graft failure at 5 years if proteinuria persists.PTNS can be due to either recurrence of native renal disease or de novo glomerular disease.Its prognosis depends upon the underlying pathophysiology.We describe a case of post-transplant membranous nephropathy(MN)that developed 3 mo after kidney transplant.The patient was properly evaluated for pathophysiology,which helped in the management of the case.CASE SUMMARY This 22-year-old patient had chronic pyelonephritis.He received a living donor kidney,and human leukocyte antigen-DR(HLA-DR)mismatching was zero.PTNS was discovered at the follow-up visit 3 mo after the transplant.Graft histopathology was suggestive of MN.In the past antibody-mediated rejection(ABMR)might have been misinterpreted as de novo MN due to the lack of technologies available to make an accurate diagnosis.Some researchers have observed that HLA-DR is present on podocytes causing an anti-DR antibody deposition and development of de novo MN.They also reported poor prognosis in their series.Here,we excluded the secondary causes of MN.Immunohistochemistry was suggestive of IgG1 deposits that favoured the diagnosis of de novo MN.The patient responded well to an increase in the dose of tacrolimus and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor.CONCLUSION Exposure of hidden antigens on the podocytes in allografts may have led to subepithelial antibody deposition causing de novo MN. | Prakash I Darji Himanshu A Patel Bhavya P Darji Ajay Sharma Ahmed Halaw | 2022 | World Journal of Transplantation2022,12,1: | 0 |

| 19 | Pharmacognostic evaluation of leaf and root bark of Holoptelea integrifolia Roxb.显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the pharmacognostic characters of an important medicinal plant, Holoptelcu integrifolia(H.integrifolia) Roxb.Methods:The pharmacognostic studies were carried out in terms of organoleptic,microscopic,macroscopic and fluorescence analysis.Results: The characteristic microscopic features of leaves were observed as trichomes,multicellular trichomes,xylem cells,phloem cells,collenchyma,vascular bundles,spongy parenchyma and palisade cells.The characteristic microscopic features of root bark included cork cambium, primary cortex,phloem fibers,medullary rays,endodermis,pericycle and lignified fibers in the transverse section and longitudinal section.The characteristic microscopy of root bark powder showed the presence of cortex cells,sieve tubes,calcium oxalate crystals and lignified fibers.
