Evaluating Beijing’s human carrying capacity from the perspective of water resource constraints显示文摘As the demands on limited water resources intensify, concerns are being raised about the human carrying capacity of these resources. However, few researchers have studied the carrying capacity of regional water resources. Beijing, the second-largest city in China, faces a critical water shortage that will limit the city’s future development. We developed a method to quantify the carrying capacity of Beijing’s water resources by considering water-use structures based on the proportions of water used for agricultural, industrial, and domestic purposes. We defined a reference structure as 45:22:33 (% of total, respectively), an optimized structure as 40:20:40, and an ideal structure as 50:15:35. We also considered four domestic water quotas: 55, 75, 95, and 115 m 3 /(person·yr). The urban carrying capacity of 10–12 million was closest to Beijing’s actual 2003 population for all three water-use structures with urban domestic water use of 75 m 3 /(person·yr). However, after accounting for our underlying assumptions, the adjusted carrying capacity is closer to 5–6 million. Thus, Beijing’s population in 2003 was almost twice the adjusted carrying capacity. Based on this result, we discussed the ecological and environmental problems created by Beijing’s excessive population and propose measures to mitigate these problems.Yingxuan Zhang Min Chen Wenhua Zhou Changwei Zhuang Zhiyun Ouyang 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,8:14
Efficacy and advantages of modified Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments based on'kidney reinforcing'for chronic aplastic ane-mia:a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To compare the efficacy of modified treatments based on 'kidney reinforcing' in the management of chronic aplastic anemia(CAA),and explore their advantages and specialties.METHODS:One hundred and eleven patients with CAA were randomly divided into three groups:kidney reinforcing alone(KA),'kidney reinforcing and Qi tonifying'(KQ),and 'kidney reinforcing and blood circulation invigorating'(KC).Normal and positive control groups were also formed. All patients were treated for 6 months(two courses).Hemograms,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndrome scores, and therapeutic effects were assessed, and changes in T-lymphocyte subsets, regulatory T cells and cytokines were detected.RESULTS:The KQ and KC groups had lower TCM syndrome scores than the positive control group after 6 months(P < 0.05).The KQ group had a higher overall efficacy than the positive control group after 3 months(P < 0.05),while platelet counts increased in the KC group after 6 months(P < 0.05).CD3+ T-lymphocyte ratios decreased only in the KQ group, while CD3 + CD4 + CD8-Tlymphocytes increased only in the KC group after 6 months(P <0.05).Levels of interferon-γ,tumor necrosis fac-tor-α,interleukin(IL)-2 and IL-6 decreased and levels of IL-4 and IL-10 increased in all treated groups after 6 months.Levels of IL-6 in the KQ and KC groups were lower than those in the positive control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Treatments based on kidney reinforcing have a rebalancing effect on cytotoxic and T helper cells, and regulate expression of interferon-γ,IL-2,IL-6 and IL-4.KQ may be more effective in treating CAA,and KC may have an advantage in platelet recovery.Wu Dijiong Shen Yiping Ye Baodong Fang Bingmu Lin Shengyun Chen Zhilu Jiang Huifang Feng Changwei He Lüyuan Gao Yanting Liu Yonglin Liu Yonghua Zhu Jiajia Wu Liqiang Shao Keding Zhou Yuhong 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4:6
Effect of Short-term Forest Bathing in Urban Parks on Perceived Anxiety of Young-adults: A Pilot Study in Guiyang, Southwest China显示文摘Forest can be taken as a natural therapy to alleviate perceived anxiety of visitors. Given the geographical difference between urban and rural forest environments, little is known about the urban forest therapy effect of anxiety alleviation with reference to the rural forest. In this study, forty-three university students(aged from 19 to 23) were recruited as participants to visit the forest parks at urban and rural areas of Guiyang City on 21 and 23 December 2016. The forest experience was separated by four sceneries. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires by self-evaluating specific anxiety change from 12 questions with scores from 1 to 10 at both entrance and exit of the parks. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and paired t-test were used to compare the change of anti-anxiety scores during forest bathing and between urban and rural forests, respectively. Results revealed that forest bathing in the urban park can alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0028), exam-pass pressure(P = 0.0040) and love-affair relationship(P = 0.0286). Although rural forest bathing can also alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0222), meanwhile, it maintained the anxiety about campus life(P < 0.0001). Forest tree richness tended to be higher in the rural forest park than in the urban one, which in contrast decreased the anxiety alleviation from inter-communication in the rural forest park(P = 0.0487). Principle component analysis indicated that participants tended to perceive more decline of anxiety from social contact in the urban forest. In conclusion, university students were recommended to pay a short visit to the urban forest with partners if they felt anxious about personal affairs and felt necessary to talk with others. For general people's visiting, urban forest trees can be controlled in diversity to some extent to look orderly and alleviate perceived anxiety.ZHOU Changwei YAN Lingbin YU Lifei WEI Hongxu GUAN Haoming SHANG Chongfei CHEN Feiyu BAO Junzhou 2019Chinese Geographical Science2019,29,1:5
Theories, technologies and practices of lacustrine shale oil exploration and development:A case study of Paleogene Kongdian Formation in Cangdong sag,Bohai Bay Basin,China显示文摘As the main factors affecting stable and high production and the production regularity of lacustrine shale oil are unclear, the theoretical understandings, key exploration and development technologies, development effect and production regularity of lacustrine shale oil have been analyzed and summarized based on 700 m cores taken systematically from Paleogene Kong 2 Member of 4 wells in Cangdong sag, over 100000 analysis data and formation testing data.Three theoretical understandings on shale oil enrichment and high production have been reached:(1)High-quality shale with“three highs and one low”is the material base for shale oil enrichment.(2)Medium-slightly high thermal evolution degree is the favorable condition for shale oil enrichment.(3)Laminar felsic shale is the optimal shale layer for oil enrichment in semi-deep lake facies.Key exploration and development technologies such as shale oil enrichment layer and area evaluation and prediction, horizontal well pattern layout, shale oil reservoir fracturing, optimization of shale oil production regime have been established to support high and stable shale oil production.Under the guidance of these theoretical understandings and technologies, shale oil in Cangdong sag has achieved high and stable production, and 4 of them had the highest production of over 100 tons a day during formation testing. In particular,Well GY5-1-1 L had a daily oil production of 208 m^(3).By April,2022,the 28 wells combined have a stable oil production of 300–350 tons a day,and have produced 17.8×10^(4) t of oil cumulatively. It is found that the shale oil production of horizontal well declines exponentially in natural flow stage, and declines in step pattern and then tends stable in the artificial lift stage.Proportion of light hydrocarbons in produced shale oil is in positive correlation with daily oil production and decreases regularly during production test.ZHAO Xianzheng ZHOU Lihong PU Xiugang JIN Fengming HAN Wenzhong SHI Zhannan CHEN Changwei JIANG Wenya GUAN Quansheng XU Jing LIU Xuewei ZHANG Wei MA Jianying 2022Petroleum Exploration and Development2022,49,3:4
Efficient catalytic conversion of jatropha oil to high grade biofuel on Ni-Mo_(2)C/MCM-41 catalysts with tuned surface properties显示文摘The activity of Mo_(2) C-based catalyst on vegetable oil conversion into biofuel could be greatedly promoted by tuning the carbon content, while its modification mechanism on the surface properties remained elusive.Herein, the exposed active sites, the particle size and Lewis acid amount of Ni-Mo_(2) C/MCM-41 catalysts were regulated by varying CH_(4) content in carbonization gas.The activity of Ni-Mo_(2) C/MCM-41 catalysts in jatropha oil(JO)conversion showed a volcano-like trend over the catalysts with increasing CH_(4) content from 15%to 50%in the preparation process. The one prepared by 25%CH_(4) content(NiMo_(2) C(25)/MCM-41)exhibited the outstanding catalytic performance with 83.9 wt%biofuel yield and95.2%C_(15)-C_(18) selectivity.Such a variation of activity was ascribed to the most exposed active sites, the smallest particle size, and the lowest Lewis acid amount from Ni^(0) on the Ni-Mo_(2) C(25)/MCM-41 catalyst surface. Moreover, the Ni-Mo_(2) C(25)/MCM-41 catalyst could also effectively catalyze the conversion of crude waste cooking oil(WCO)into green diesel. This study offers an effective strategy to improve catalytic performance of molybdenum carbide catalyst on vegetable oil conversion.Xiangze Du Keyao Zhou Linyuan Zhou Xiaomei Lei Huiru Yang Dan Li Changwei Hu 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10:2
Micropore structure characteristics and quantitative characterization methods of lacustrine shale-A case study from the member 2 of Kongdian Formation, Cangdong sag, Bohai Bay Basin显示文摘To better understand the micropore characteristics of lacustrine shale and develop quantitative methodsfor characterizing lacustrine shale, the reservoir space types, structures and spatial distribution patternsof effective pores in the shale of Member 2 of Kongdian Formation in Cangdong sag are studied usingcores, thin sections, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM),nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), whole-rock X-ray diffraction (XRD) data, etc. Various shale porositycalculation methods are evaluated. The study results show that the reservoir spaces of the shale mainlyinclude three types, i.e., matrix pores, organic pores and fractures. Flaky pore throats formed bydissolution-induced pores and mould pores can improve the pore connectivity. NMR effective porosity ofthe shale varies from 0.59% to 4.42% with an average of 2.38%, accounting for 49.54% of the total NMRporosity and 34.53% of the gas porosity. The shale is divided into the unimodal-type felsic shale, bimodaltype felsic shale, carbonate shale and mixed shale. The different lithologies exhibit linear correlationsamong NMR, gas and effective porosities. The shale has effective porosity of 0.56%-4.53% with an averageof 2.12%. Furthermore, the shale reservoir is divided into four classes: Class I reservoir with effectiveporosities of more than 2.5%;Class II1 reservoir with effective porosity of 2.0%-2.5%;Class II2 reservoirwith effective porosity of 1.5%-2%;and Class III reservoir with effective porosity of less than 1.5%.Lihong Zhou Changwei Chen Fei Yang Wenzhong Han Quansheng Guan 2020Petroleum Research2020,5,2:2

Tuning the selectivity of natural oils and fatty acids/esters deoxygenation to biofuels and fatty alcohols:A review显示文摘The chemical transformation of natural oils provides alternatives to limited fossil fuels and produces compounds with added value for the chemical industries. The selective deoxygenation of natural oils to diesel-ranged hydrocarbons,bio-jet fuels,or fatty alcohols with controllable selectivity is especially attractive in natural oil feedstock biorefineries. This review presents recent progress in catalytic deoxygenation of natural oils or related model compounds(e.g.,fatty acids)to renewable liquid fuels(green diesel and bio-jet fuels)and valuable fatty alcohols(unsaturated and saturated fatty alcohols).Besides,it discusses and compares the existing and potential strategies to control the product selectivity over heterogeneous catalysts. Most research conducted and reviewed has only addressed the production of one category;therefore,a new integrative vision exploring how to direct the process toward fuel and/or chemicals is urgently needed. Thus, work conducted to date addressing the development of new catalysts and studying the influence of the reaction parameters(e.g.,temperature,time and hydrogen pressure)is summarized and critically discussed from a green and sustainable perspective using efficiency indicators(e.g.,yields,selectivity,turnover frequencies and catalysts lifetime).Special attention has been given to the chemical transformations occurring to identify key descriptors to tune the selectivity toward target products by manipulating the reaction conditions and the structures of the catalysts. Finally, the challenges and future research goals to develop novel and holistic natural oil biorefineries are proposed. As a result, this critical review provides the readership with appropriate information to selectively control the transformation of natural oils into either biofuels and/or value-added chemicals. This new flexible vision can help pave the wave to suit the present and future market needs.Yingdong Zhou Javier Remon Zhicheng Jiang Avtar S.Matharu Changwei Hu 2023Green Energy & Environment2023,8,3:1

Water-soluble brown carbon in atmospheric aerosols from the resource-dependent cities:Optical properties, chemical compositions and sources显示文摘As a vital type of light-absorbing aerosol, brown carbon(BrC)presents inherent associations with atmospheric photochemistry and climate change. However, the understanding of the chemical and optical properties of BrC is limited, especially in some resource-dependent cities with long heating periods in northwest China. This study showed that the annual average abundances of Water-soluble BrC(WS-BrC)were 9.33±7.42 and 8.69±6.29μg/m^(3)in Baotou and Wuhai and the concentrations, absorption coefficient(Abs_(365)),and mass absorption efficiency(MAE365)of WS-BrC presented significant seasonal patterns, with high values in the heating season and low values in the non-heating season;while showing opposite seasonal trends for the Absorption Angstr?m exponent(AAE_(300-400)).Comparatively,the levels of WS-BrC in developing regions(such as cities in Asia)were higher than those in developed regions(such as cities in Europe and Australia),indicating the significant differences in energy consumption in these regions.By combining fluorescence excitation-emission matrix(EEM)spectra with the parallel factor(PARAFAC)model,humic-like(C1 and C2)and proteinlike(C3)substances were identified, and accounted for 61.40%±4.66%and 38.6%±3.78%at Baotou, and 60.33%±6.29%and 39.67%±4.17%at Wuhai, respectively. The results of source apportionment suggested that the potential source regions of WS-BrC varied in heating vs.non-heating seasons and that the properties of WS-BrC significantly depended on primary emissions(e.g.,combustion emissions)and secondary formation.Haoji Wang Yue Su Yangzheng Liu Fei Xie Xingjun Zhou Ruihong Yu Changwei Lü Jiang He 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4:0
Investigation of dynamics of discrete framed structures by a numerical wave-based method and an analytical homogenization approach显示文摘In this article, the analytical homogenization method of periodic discrete media(HPDM)and the numerical condensed wave finite element method(CWFEM) are employed to study the longitudinal and transverse vibrations of framed structures. The valid frequency range of the HPDM is re-evaluated using the wave propagation feature identified by the CWFEM. The relative error of the wavenumber by the HPDM compared to that by the CWFEM is illustrated in functions of frequency and scale ratio. A parametric study on the thickness of the structure is carried out where the dispersion relation and the relative error are given for three different thicknesses. The dynamics of a finite structure such as natural frequency and forced response are also investigated using the HPDM and the CWFEM.Zhou Changwei Sun Xiangkun Mohamed Ichchou Abdel-Malek Zine Jean-Pierre Lainé Stephane Hans Claude Boutin 2017Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,1:0
The Experimental Study of Talc and Antigorite Evolution under Dry-Thermal Condition显示文摘The Xiuyan Jade samples were treated under thermal conditions. By polarizing microscope, the three kinds of jade were choosed. With DTA-TG analysis, three transition temperatures were obtained which were 600℃, 770℃ and 840℃. The study interpreted the mechanism of Xiuyan Jade under thermal condition through XRD analysis results. The mechanism of antigorite thermal activation was as following: when the temperature reached 600℃, the hydroxyl in octahedral sheet began dehydrating, and the new mineral phase forsterite was found, but the layer structure was maintained; when the temperature reached 770℃, the layer structure of antigorite was destroyed; when the temperature reached 840℃, the crystallinity of forsterite was improved, then another new mineral phase enstatite appeard. For talc, it was likely turn to enstatite directly while the temperature rising, and the appearance of SiO2 was most likely due to the conversion of talc.ZHANG Chao GAO Wenyuan ZHOU Shanglu WANG Shujun YANG Changwei HUANG Fei MAo Ning 2013矿物学报2013,33,S1:0
Enhancement of T cell infiltration via tumor-targeted Th9 cell delivery improves the efficacy of antitumor immunotherapy of solid tumors显示文摘Insufficient infiltration of T cells severely compromises the antitumor efficacy of adoptive cell therapy(ACT)against solid tumors. Here,we present a facile immune cell surface engineering strategy aiming to substantially enhance the anti-tumor efficacy of Th9-mediated ACT by rapidly identifying tumor-specific binding ligands and improving the infiltration of infused cells into solid tumors.Non-genetic decoration of Th9 cells with tumor-targeting peptide screened from phage display not only allowed precise targeted ACT against highly heterogeneous solid tumors but also substantially enhanced infiltration of CD8+T cells, which led to improved antitumor outcomes.Mechanistically, infusion of Th9 cells modified with tumor-specific binding ligands facilitated the enhanced distribution of tumor-killing cells and remodeled the immunosuppressive microenvironment of solid tumors via IL-9 mediated immunomodulation.Overall,we presented a simple,cost-effective,and cell-friendly strategy to enhance the efficacy of ACT against solid tumors with the potential to complement the current ACT.Tao Chen Yucheng Xue Shengdong Wang Jinwei Lu Hao Zhou Wenkan Zhang Zhiyi Zhou Binghao Li Yong Li Zenan Wang Changwei Li Yinwang Eloy Hangxiang Sun Yihang Shen Mohamed Diaty Diarra Chang Ge Xupeng Chai Haochen Mou Peng Lin Xiaohua Yu Zhaoming Ye 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,5:0
Structural and electronic effects boosting Ni-doped Mo_(2)C catalyst toward high-efficiency C-O/C-C bonds cleavage显示文摘The selective cleavage of C-O and C-C is facing a challenge in the field of catalysis. In the present work,we studied the influence of doped Ni on the structure and electronic properties,as well as the selective C-O/C-C bond cleavages in the hydrodeoxygenation of palmitic acid over Ni-Mo_(2)C catalyst. The catalytic activity on Ni doped Mo_(2)C with TOF of 6.9×10^(3)h^(-1)is much superior to intrinsic Mo_(2)C catalyst, which is also higher than most noble metal catalysts.Structurally, the doped Ni raises the active particle dispersion and the coordination numbers of Mo species(Mo-C and Mo-O),improves the graphitization degree to promote the electron transfer, and increases the amount of Lewis and Br?nsted acid, which are responsible for the excellent hydrodeoxygenation performance. The Ni promotes simultaneously C-O and C-C bonds cleavage to produce pentadecane and hexadecane owing to the increase of electron-rich Mo sites after Ni doping. These findings contribute to the understanding of the nature of Ni-doped Mo_(2)C on the roles as catalytic active sites for C-O and C-C bonds cleavage.Xiangze Du Jinjia Liu Dan Li Hui Xin Xiaomei Lei Rui Zhang Linyuan Zhou Huiru Yang Yan Zeng Hualong Zhang Wentao Zheng Xiaodong Wen Changwei Hu 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,,12:0
Assembly and analysis of the Populus deltoides mitochondrial genome:the first report of a multicircular mitochondrial conformation for the genus Populus显示文摘Genomics research of Populus deltoides,an important timber species that is widely planted worldwide,is an important part of poplar breeding.Currently, the nuclear and chloroplast genome of P.deltoides have been sequenced, but its mitochondrial genome(mitogenome)has not been reported. To further explore the evolution and phylogeny of P.deltoides, the mitogenome of P.deltoides I-69 was assembled using reads from Nanopore and Illumina sequencing platforms and found to consist of 802,637 bp and three circular chromosomes(336,205,280,841,and 185,591 bp)containing 58 genes(34 protein-coding genes,21 tRNA genes, and 3 rRNA genes).RNA analysis in combination with several species showed signifi cantly fewer RNA editingsites in the mitogenomes of poplar and other angiosperms than in gymnosperms.Sequence transfer analysis showed extensive mitogenome rearrangements in Populus species, and with evolution from lower to higher plants,tRNA transfer from chloroplasts to mitochondria became increasingly frequent. In a phylogenetic analysis, the evolutionary status of P.deltoides was determined, and the section Populus was supported. Our results based on the fi rst report of a multicircular conformation of the Populus mitogenome provide a basis for further study of the evolution and genetics of P.deltoides and other Populus species and for breeding programs.Yanshu Qu Pengyan Zhou Chunfa Tong Changwei Bi Li’an Xu 2023Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,3:0
