1Evaluation index system of shared energy storage market towards renewable energy accommodation scenario:A China’s Qinghai province context显示文摘With the ever-increased installed capacity of renewable energy generation units in a power system,the so-called shared energy storage(SES),a novel business model under the umbrella of the shared economy principle,has the potential to play an essential role in the accommodation of renewable energy generation.However,unified evaluation standards and methods,which can help decision-makers analyze the performance of the SES market,are still not available.In this paper,an evaluation index system of the SES market is designed based on the trading rules of China’s Qinghai province and the structure-conduct-performance(SCP)analytical model.Moreover,the definition and characteristics of the indices,which can show the performance of the SES market from different perspectives,are given.Furthermore,the ideal cases are presented as the evaluation benchmark based on the development expectation of the SES market,and the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)are applied to evaluate the SES market comprehensively.Finally,a case study based on actual data of the SES trading pilot project in Qinghai shows that the evaluation index system can reflect the operation status,existing problems and influencing factors of the SES market.Baomin Fang Weiqiang Qiu Maochun Wang Wei Zhou Zhenzhi Lin Fushuan Wen 2022Global Energy Interconnection2022,5,1:5
2Bi-level Coordinated Planning of Active Distribution Network Considering Demand Response Resources and Severely Restricted Scenarios显示文摘Due to the uncertainty and fluctuation of distributed generation(DG)and load,the operation of active distribution network(ADN)is affected by multi-dimension factors which are described by massive operation scenarios.Efficient and accurate screening of severely restricted scenarios(SRSs)has become a new challenge in ADN planning.In this paper,a novel bi-level coordinated planning model which combines the short-time-scale operation problem with the long-time-scale planning problem is proposed.At the upper level,the demand response(DR)resource,an effective non-component planning resource characterized by low capacity price,high energy price,and short contract term,is co-optimized with the configuration of lines and energy storage systems(ESSs)to achieve the economic trade-off between the investment cost and the operation cost under SRSs.At the lower level,with the planning scheme obtained from the upper level,massive operation problems are optimized to minimize the daily operation cost;and the SRSs are provided to the upper level through a shadow-price-based scenario screening method,which simulates the planning information(i.e.,the restricted degrees of operation scenarios)feedback process from ADN operators to ADN planners.Case studies on a 62-node distribution system in Jianshan New District,Zhejiang Province,China,illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed bi-level coordinated planning model considering DR resources and SRSs.Huang Yixin Lin Zhenzhi Liu Xinyi Yang Li Dan Yangqing Zhu Yanwei Ding Yi Wang Qin 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,5:3
3Impact of Simultaneous Activities on Frequency Fluctuations:Comprehensive Analyses Based on Real Measurement Data from the FNET/GridEye显示文摘Simultaneous human activities,such as the Super Bowl game,would cause certain impacts on frequency fluctuations in power systems.With the help of FNET/GridEye measurements,this paper aims to give comprehensive analyses on the frequency fluctuations during Super Bowl LIV held on Feb.2,2020,so as to better understand several phenomena caused by simultaneous activities which will help system operations and controls.First,recent developments of the FNET/GridEye are briefly introduced.Second,the frequency fluctuations of the Eastern Interconnection(El),western electricity coordinating council(WECC),and electric reliability council of Texas(ERCOT)power systems during Super Bowl LIV are analyzed.Third,frequency fluctuations of Super Bowl Sunday and ordinary Sundays in 2020 are compared.Finally,the differences of frequency fluctuations among different years during the Super Bowl and their change trends are also given.Furthermore,several possible explanations,including the simultaneity of electricity consumption at the beginning of commercial breaks and the halftime show,the increasing usage of the Internet,and the increasing size of TV screens,are illustrated in detail in this paper.Shengyuan Liu Shutang You Chujie Zeng Yinfeng Zhao Wenxuan Yao Yilu Liu Zhenzhi Lin 2021CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2021,7,2:1

6KPI-based Real-time Situational Awareness for Power Systems with a High Proportion of Renewable Energy Sources显示文摘With the increasing complexity of power systems and the widespread penetration of renewable energy sources(RES),real-time situational awareness for power systems is of great significance for operational scheduling.Considering the impact of RES on power system operations,a situational awareness key performance index(KPI)system for power systems with a high proportion of RES is proposed in this paper,which consists of reserve capacity abundance,ramp resource abundance,center of inertia(COI)frequency deviation,interface power flow margin,synthesized voltage stability,and angle stability margin.Then,the KPIs are synthesized and visualized by the decision tree method and radar chart method,respectively,for monitoring the operation states(i.e,normal,alert,and emergency states)of power systems with a high proportion of RES.Numerical simulations are conducted in a revised New England 16-machine 68-bus power system and an actual CEPRI-RE power system in the northwest region of China with a high proportion of RES.The results show that the proposed KPI-based situational awareness method is able to accurately monitor the real-time state of power systems with a high proportion of RES,and can assist power dispatchers to make effective decisions.Tianhan Zhang Shengyuan Liu Weiqiang Qiu Zhenzhi Lin Lingzhi Zhu Zhao Dawei Minhui Qian LI Yang 2022CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2022,8,4:1

12Controlled Islanding Strategy Considering Uncertainty of Renewable Energy Sources Based on Chance-constrained Model显示文摘Controlled islanding plays an essential role in preventing the blackout of power systems.Although there are several studies on this topic in the past,no enough attention is paid to the uncertainty brought by renewable energy sources(RESs)that may cause unpredictable unbalanced power and the observabilit>T of power systems after islanding that is essential for back-up black-start measures.Therefore,a novel controlled islanding model based on mixed-integer second-order cone and chance-constrained programming(MISOCCP)is proposed to address these issues.First,the uncertainty of RESs is characterized by their possibility distribution models with chance constraints,and the requirements,e.g.,system observability,for rapid back-up black-start measures are also considered.Then,a law of large numbers(LLN)based method is em-ployed for converting the chance constraints into deterministic ones and reformulating the non-convex model into convex one.Finally,case studies on the revised IEEE 39-bus and 118-bus power systems as well as the comparisons among different models are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.The results show that the proposed model can result in less unbalanced power and better observability after islanding compared with other models.Shengyuan Liu Tianhan Zhang Zhenzhi Lin Yilu Liu Yi Ding Li Yang 2022Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2022,10,2:1

16Data-driven Two-step Day-ahead Electricity Price Forecasting Considering Price Spikes显示文摘In the electricity market environment,electricity price forecasting plays an essential role in the decision-making process of a power generation company,especially in developing the optimal bidding strategy for maximizing revenues.Hence,it is necessary for a power generation company to develop an accurate electricity price forecasting algorithm.Given this background,this paper proposes a two-step day-ahead electricity price forecasting algorithm based on the weighted Knearest neighborhood(WKNN)method and the Gaussian process regression(GPR)approach.In the first step,several predictors,i.e.,operation indicators,are presented and the WKNN method is employed to detect the day-ahead price spike based on these indicators.In the second step,the outputs of the first step are regarded as a new predictor,and it is utilized together with the operation indicators to accurately forecast the electricity price based on the GPR approach.The proposed algorithm is verified by actual market data in Pennsylvania-New JerseyMaryland Interconnection(PJM),and comparisons between this algorithm and existing ones are also made to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can attain accurate price forecasting results even with several price spikes in historical electricity price data.Shengyuan Liu Yicheng Jiang Zhenzhi Lin Fushuan Wen Yi Ding Li Yang 2023Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2023,11,2:1

18Clustering Analysis of Black-start Decision-making with a Large Group of Decision-makers显示文摘The optimization of black-start decision-making plays an important role in the rapid restoration of a power system after a major failure/outage.With the introduction of the concept of smart grids and the development of real-time communication networks,the black-start decision-makers are no longer limited to only one or a few power system experts such as dispatchers,but rather a large group of professional people in practice.The overall behaviors of a large decision-making group of decision-makers/experts are more complicated and unpredictable.However,the existing methods for black-start decision-making cannot handle the situations with a large group of decision-makers.Given this background,a clustering algorithm is presented to optimize the black-start decision-making problem with a large group of decision-makers.Group decision-making preferences are obtained by clustering analysis,and the final black-start decision-making results are achieved by combining the weights of black-start indexes and the preferences of the decision-making group.The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by a practical case.This work extends the black-start decision-making problem to situations with a large group of decision-makers.Liu, Weijia Lin, Zhenzhi Wen, Fushuan Xue, Yusheng Dai, Yan Sun, Weizhen Wang, Chao 2012电力系统自动化2012,36,8:0
