| 1 | Low-Level Temperature Inversions and Their Effect on Aerosol Condensation Nuclei Concentrations under Different Large-Scale Synoptic Circulations显示文摘Knowledge of the statistical characteristics of inversions and their effects on aerosols under different large-scale synoptic circulations is important for studying and modeling the diffusion of pollutants in the boundary layer. Based on results generated using the self-organizing map(SOM) weather classification method, this study compares the statistical characteristics of surface-based inversions(SBIs) and elevated inversions(EIs), and quantitatively evaluates the effect of SBIs on aerosol condensation nuclei(CN) concentrations and the relationship between temperature gradients and aerosols for six prevailing synoptic patterns over the the Southern Great Plains(SGP) site during 2001–10. Large-scale synoptic patterns strongly influence the statistical characteristics of inversions and the accumulation of aerosols in the low-level atmosphere. The activity,frequency, intensity, and vertical distribution of inversions are significantly different among these synoptic patterns. The vertical distribution of inversions varies diurnally and is significantly different among the different synoptic patterns. Anticyclonic patterns affect the accumulation of aerosols near the ground more strongly than cyclonic patterns. Mean aerosol CN concentrations increase during SBIs compared to no inversion cases by 16.1%, 22.6%, 24.5%, 58.7%, 29.8% and 23.7% for the six synoptic patterns. This study confirms that there is a positive correlation between temperature gradients and aerosol CN concentrations near the ground at night under similar large-scale synoptic patterns. The relationship is different for different synoptic patterns and can be described by linear functions. | 2 | Failure modes of coal containing gas and mechanism of gas outbursts显示文摘In order to explain the mechanism for gas outburst, the process of evolving fractures in coal seams is described using system dynamics with variable boundaries. We discuss the failure modes of coal containing gas and then established the flow rules after failure. The condition under which states of deformation convert is presented and the manner in which these convert is proposed. In the end, the process of gas outbursts is explained in detail. It shows that a gas outburst is a process in which the boundaries of coal seams are variable because of coal failure. If the fractures are not connected or even closed owing to coal/rock stress, fractured zones will retain a certain level of carrying capacity because of the self-sealing gas pressure. | 5 | Development and prospect of direct‐current circuit breaker in China显示文摘The direct‐current circuit breaker(DCCB)is the most ideal choice for DC fault isolation in DC grids.Despite a late start,China's research and development on the DCCB have made outstanding achievements.This article provides a brief glance of current China's DCCB development status.It begins by sorting out the technical route according to the topology of DCCB.Then it systematically summarises both mechanical and hybrid DCCBs with focussing on the aspects of topology structure and principle,key technology and characteristics,prototype development and application.It is apparent that Chinese scientists and engineers confronted the worldwide problem of large capacity DC breaking,and put forward a comprehensive solution which consists of an innovative topology structure based on coupled negative voltage circuit,breaking throughs on the key technologies such as highly controllable and reliable fault current commutation,millisecond‐level ultra‐fast and efficient electromagnetic repulsion mechanism,high tolerance and high stability power electronic switch,low residual voltage and fast response energy consumption device,etc.The article states that the world's first set of hybrid high‐voltage(HV)DCCB,and the first set of mechanical HV DCCB have been developed.These DCCBs will soon be deployed to the DC grids which have the highest voltage levels therefore require the strongest breaking capacity.These achievements are leading the world in the development and application of DCCB.The article also discusses the overall development trends of DCCB in the areas of new topologies,key techno-logical breakthroughs and application scenarios,etc.These discussions serve as references for DCCB's future technological advancement and its ever‐expanding applications. | Weijiang Chen Rong Zeng Junjia He Yi Wu Xiaoguang Wei Taixun Fang Zhanqing Yu Zhao Yuan Yifei Wu Wandi Zhou Bing Yang Lu Qu | 2021 | High Voltage2021,6,1: | 6 |
| 6 | Geochronology, Geochemistry and Tectonic Setting of the Bairiqiete Granodiorite Intrusion(Rock Mass) from the Buqingshan Tectonic Mélange Belt in the Southern Margin of East Kunlun显示文摘This study focuses on the zircon U–Pb geochronology and geochemistry of the Bairiqiete granodiorite intrusion(rock mass) from the Buqingshan tectonic mélange belt in the southern margin of East Kunlun. The results show that the zircons are characterized by internal oscillatory zoning and high Th/U(0.14–0.80), indicative of an igneous origin. LA–ICP–MS U–Pb dating of zircons from the Bairiqiete granodiorite yielded an age of 439.0 ± 1.9 Ma(MSWD = 0.34), implying that the Bairiqiete granodiorite formed in the early Silurian. Geochemical analyses show that the rocks are medium-K calc-alkaline, relatively high in Al2O3(14.57–18.34 wt%) and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous. Rare-earth elements have low concentrations(45.49–168.31 ppm) and incline rightward with weak negative to weak positive Eu anomalies(δEu = 0.64–1.34). Trace-element geochemistry is characterized by negative anomalies of Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf and Ti and positive anomalies of Rb, Th and Ba. Moreover, the rocks have similar geochemical features with adakites. The Bairiqiete granodiorite appears to have a continental crust source and formed in a subduction-related island-arc setting. | 7 | Resistance Characteristics of Arc in Long Air Gap显示文摘Arc resistance is an important parameter for characterizing long arcs in air, and its laboratory testing is of importance for accurate arc modeling of electromagnetic transient caused by short circuit fault. Therefore, we constructed an experimental system to study the cha- racteristics of long AC arc in air. Driven by currents of 10 kA or 40 kA (root mean square value), the system produces arcs with different initial lengths of 1 m, 2 m and 4 m, and the movement of the arcs are captured by a high-speed camera. After performing experiments using the system, we carried out analysis and comparisons of the arc resistance of arcs with different lengths and different currents, as well as a study of the relationship between the macro-morphology and the resistance of the arcs. Conclusions were drawn from the experimental re- sults: the arc voltage had obvious saturation characteristics; the arc resistance increased with the increase of arc length and the decrease of current; the arcs bended or extended significantly in time and the peak arc voltage within a single cycle increased correspondingly; the arcs had voltage and current in the same phase. | 10 | Water-resisting ability of cemented broken rocks显示文摘Using the self-designed testing system, the seepage tests for cemented broken rocks were conducted, and the impact of different factors on water-resisting ability was analyzed. The results show that(1) seepage process of the cemented broken rocks can be divided into two categories: in one category, seepage instability occurs after a period of time, in the other, the permeability decreases slowly and tends to be stable,and seepage instability does not occur;(2) cementing performance of cementing agent and grain size distribution are the decisive factors for water-resisting ability, with the increase of cementing performance and the mass percentage of large grains, the water-resisting ability of the specimen strengthens;(3)aggregate type has little effect on seepage stability, for the specimens with different aggregate types,the permeability and the duration of seepage instability have small difference;(4) initial porosity has a certain effect on the water-resisting ability of the specimen, but has no decisive role. | 11 | Closing performances of double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch显示文摘To develop high-voltage-pulsed power switches with better performances,a multi-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch is proposed in this study.Based on established test pro-totype for double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch,closing processes of double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch are discussed combined with laser-produced plasma.Closing performances of double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch under different gap polarity configurations,operating voltages,laser energies and laser split ratios are inves-tigated.Closing time delay characteristics of double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch and single-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch are compared later.The test results prove that,affected by the imbalanced developed initial plasma between gaps,double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch with two positive gaps and 1:1 laser split ratio presents best closing performances than other switches.With the rise of laser energy,closing delay time and jitter time of double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch both decrease,while the influences from increasing voltages are weak.Closing delay time of P-P type double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch can be controlled within 103�1.5 ns under 90 mJ laser energy,and it is about 10 ns longer than single-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch.For some direct current applications with changing voltage directions,P-N type double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch with 1:1 laser split ratio shows more stable closing per-formances.In addition,closing performances of double-gap laser-triggered vacuum switch can be further improved by optimizing the developments of initial plasma in series gaps. | Zhanqing Chen Xiongying Duan Minfu Liao Hao Zhang Ming Zhang Jiyan Zou | 2021 | High Voltage2021,6,2: | 1 |
| 12 | Analysis of Low-level Temperature Inversions and Their Effects on Aerosols in the Lower Atmosphere显示文摘High-quality and continuous radiosonde, aerosol and surface meteorology datasets are used to investigate the statistical characteristics of meteorological parameters and their effects on aerosols. The data were collected at the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Southern Great Plains climate research facility during 2000–15. The parameters and vertical distribution of temperature inversion layers were found to have strong diurnal and seasonal changes. For surface-based temperature inversion (SBI), the mean frequency and depth of temperature inversion layers were 39.4% and 198 m, respectively. The temperature difference between the top and bottom of SBI was 4.8℃, and so the temperature gradient was 2.4℃(100 m)^-1. The detailed vertical distributions of temperature inversion had been determined, and only the temperature inversion layers below 1000 m showed diurnal and seasonal variations. Mean surface aerosol number concentrations increased by 43.0%, 21.9% and 49.2% when SBIs were present at 0530, 1730 and 2330 LST, respectively. The effect of SBI on surface aerosol concentration was weakest in summer (18.1%) and strongest in winter (58.4%). During elevated temperature inversion events, there was no noticeable difference in surface aerosol number concentrations. Temperature differences and temperature gradients across SBIs correlated fairly well with aerosol number concentrations, especially for temperature gradients. The vertical distribution of aerosol optical properties with and without temperature inversions was different. Surface aerosol measurements were representative of the air within (below), but not above, SBIs and EIs. | 20 | Effect of Palrnatine on lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury by inhibiting activation of the Akt/NF-κB pathway显示文摘Inflammation plays an important role in the development of acute lung injury(ALI).Severe pulmonary inflammation can cause acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)or even death.Expression of proinflammatory interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)in the process of pulmonary inflammation will further exacerbate the severity of ALI.The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of Palrnatine(Pa)on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced mouse ALI and its underlying mechanism.Pa,a natural product,has a wide range of pharmacological activities with the potential to protect against lung injury.Western blotting and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)assays were performed to detect the expression and translation of inflammatory genes and proteins in vitro and in vivo.Immunoprecipitation was used to detect the degree of P65 translocation into the nucleus.We also used molecular modeling to further clarify the mechanism of action.The results showed that Pa pretreatment could significantly inhibit the expression and secretion of the inflammatory cytokine IL-1β,and significantly reduce the protein level of the proinflammatory protease iNOS,in both in vivo and in vitro models induced by LPS.Further mechanism studies showed that Pa could significantly inhibit the activation of the protein kinase B(Akt)/nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling pathway in the LPS-induced ALI mode and in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells.Through molecular dynamics simulation,we observed that Pa was bound to the catalytic pocket of Akt and effectively inhibited the biological activity of Akt.These results indicated that Pa significantly relieves LPS-induced ALI by activating the Akt/NF-κB signaling pathway. | Xingchi KAN Yingsheng CHEN Bingxu HUANG Shoupeng FU Wenjin GUO Xin RAN Yu CAO Dianwen XU Ji CHENG Zhanqing YANG Yanling XU | 2021 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,11: | 1 |
