1Over-expression of an Arabi-dopsisd δ-OAT gene enhances salt and drought tolerance in transgenic rice显示文摘d-OAT, ornithine--aminotransferase, is the key enzyme involved in proline biosynthesis. In this study the Arabidopsis d -OAT gene was transferred into rice (Oryza sativa L. ssp japonica cv. Zhongzuo 321), whose successful integration was demonstrated by PCR and Southern blot analysis. The over-expression of the gene in transgenic rice was also confirmed. Biochemical analysis showed that, under salt or drought stress conditions, proline contents in the leaves and roots in transgenic rice plants were 5- to 15-fold of those in non-transgenic controls. Under stress conditions, germinating rate of transgenic lines is higher than that of controls. Although the growth of rice plants tested were more and more retarded with the increasing of NaCl concentration, the transgenic plants grow faster compared to the controls under the same stress condition. Meanwhile, the resistance to KCl and MgSO4 stresses was also found enhanced in trans-genic rice. Furthermore, the over-expression of d -OAT also improved the yield of transgenic plants under stress condi-tions. The average yield per plant of transgenic lines in-creases about 12%—41% more than that of control lines under 0.1 mol/L NaCl stress. 3Prediction of surface and interfacial tension based on thermodynamic data and CALPHAD approach显示文摘In this article, following a brief introduction concerning experimental measurements of surface and interfacial tensions, methods for calculating surface tension and surface segregation for binary, ternary, and multicomponent high-temperature melts based on Bulter’s original treatment [1] and on available physical properties and thermodynamic data, especially excess Gibbs free energies of bulk phase and surface phase versus temperature obtained from thermody- namic databases using the calculation of phase diagram (CALPHAD) approach, with special attention to the model pa- rameter β, have been described. In addition, the geometric models can be extended to predict surface tensions of multicom- ponent systems from those of sub-binary systems. For illustration, some calculated examples, including Pb-free soldering systems and phase-diagram evaluation of binary alloys in nanoparticle systems are given. On the basis of surface tensions of high-temperature melts, interfacial tensions between liquid alloy and molten slag as well as molten slag and molten matter can be calculated using the Girifalco-Good equation [2]. Modifications are suggested in the Nishizawa’s model [3] for esti- mation of interfacial tension in liquid metal (A)/ceramics (MX) systems so that the calculations can be carried out based on the sublattice model and thermodynamic data, without deliberately differentiating the phase of MX at high temperature. Fi- nally, the derivation of an approximate expression for predicting interfacial tension between the high-temperature multi- component melts, employing Becker’s model [4] in conjunction with Bulter’s equation and interfacial tension data of the simple systems is described, and some examples concerning pyrometallurgical systems are given for better understanding.QIAO Zhiyu CAO Zhanmin Tanaka Toshihiro 2006Rare Metals2006,25,5:3
4Surface Tension Calculation of Undercooled Alloys显示文摘Based on the Butler equation and extrapolated thermodynamic data of undercooled alloys from those of liquid stable alloys, a method for surface tension calculation of undercooled alloys is proposed. The surface tensions of liquid stable and undercooled Ni-Cu (xNi=0.42) and Ni-Fe (xNi=0.3 and 0.7) alloys are calculated using STCBE (Surface Tension Calculation based on Butler Equation) program. 10Enhanced carbon solubility in solvent for SiC rapid solution growth:Thermodynamic evaluation of Cr-Ce-Si-C system显示文摘The carbon dissolution in solvent plays a key role in the process of solution growth route for SiC single crystal,which could determine the growth rate and quality of the products.However,the carbon dissolving ability of binary alloy solvent still needs to be improved.Here,we demonstrate the improved carbon dissolution and enlarged carbon supersaturation in Cr-Ce-Si ternary solvent,showing great potential for SiC solution growth.The phase relations of Cr-Ce-Si-C system were determined by using CALPHAD method based on thermodynamic parameters of CeCr_(2)Si_(2)C.It is indicated that the Cr-Ce-Si ternary solvent shows much larger carbon solubility in temperature range from 1700 to 2000℃compared to Cr-Si binary one,Furthermore,the carbon supersaturation in solvent is also significantly increased in low temperature range after the addition of Ce,leading to a rapid growth rate.Our work not only demonstrates the feasibility of adding Ce in the alloy solvent for rapid growth of SiC crystal,but also provides an example for investigating the C solubility in ternary solvent.Lingling Guo Guobin Wang Jiawei Lin Zhongnan Guo Zesheng Zhang Hui Li Zhanmin Cao Wenxia Yuan 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,8:1

17Thermodynamic assessment of the Ni-Sb binary system显示文摘The Ni-Sb binary alloy system was thermodynamically assessed using CALPHAD approach in this article. Excess Gibbs energies of solution phases, liquid and fcc phases, were formulated using the Redlich-Kister expression. The intermediate phases were modeled by the sublattice model with (Ni,Va)0.5(Ni,Sb)0.25(Ni)0.25 for Ni3Sb_HT phase and (Ni,Va)0.3333(Sb)0.3333(Ni,Va)0.3333 for NiSb phase. The other phases including Ni3Sb, Ni7Sb3, and NiSb2 were treated as stoichiometric compound owing to their narrow composition ranges. 20Study on Mechanism of Explosive Spalling of ULC Castables During Rapid Drying显示文摘Inner vapor pressure and temperature of vulnerable explosive spalling positions in refractory castables during rapid drying were measured by embedding pressure transmitting pipes and thermocouples during casting. The measured vapor pressure, temperature, and tensile strength of the castables were analyzed and discussed. A hollow sphere shell model was used to analyze the stress induced by the vapor pressure based on the structure of refractory castables. The mechanism of refractory castables explosive spalling caused by vapor-induced pore split was proposed.
