| 1 | A Novel Simple Visual Tracking Algorithm Based on Hashing and Deep Learning显示文摘Deep network has been proven efficient and robust to capture object features in some conditions.It still remains in the stage of classifying or detecting objects.In the field of visual tracking,deep network has not been applied widely.One of the reasons is that its time consuming made the strong method could not meet the speed need of visual tracking.A novel simple tracker is proposed to complete tracking task.A simple six-layer feed-forward backpropagation neural network is applied to capture object features.Nevertheless,this representation is not robust enough when illumination changes or drastic scale changes in dynamic condition.To improve the performance and not to increase much time spent,image perceptual hashing method is employed,which extracts low frequency information of object as its fingerprint to recognize the object from its structure.64-bit characters are calculated by it,and they are utilized to be the bias terms of the neutral network.This leads more significant improvement for performance of extracting sufficient object features.Then we take particle filter to complete the tracking process with the proposed representation.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is efficient and robust compared with the state-of-the-art tracking methods. | ZHU Suguo DU Junping REN Nan | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,5: | 14 |
| 2 | Evaluation of health benefit using Ben MAP-CE with an integrated scheme of model and monitor data during Guangzhou Asian Games显示文摘Guangzhou is the capital and largest city(land area:7287 km2)of Guangdong province in South China.The air quality in Guangzhou typically worsens in November due to unfavorable meteorological conditions for pollutant dispersion.During the Guangzhou Asian Games in November 2010,the Guangzhou government carried out a number of emission control measures that significantly improved the air quality.In this paper,we estimated the acute health outcome changes related to the air quality improvement during the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games using a next-generation,fully-integrated assessment system for air quality and health benefits.This advanced system generates air quality data by fusing model and monitoring data instead of using monitoring data alone,which provides more reliable results.The air quality estimates retain the spatial distribution of model results while calibrating the value with observations.The results show that the mean PM_2.5concentration in November 2010 decreased by 3.5μg/m^3 compared to that in 2009 due to the emission control measures.From the analysis,we estimate that the air quality improvement avoided 106 premature deaths,1869 cases of hospital admission,and 20,026 cases of outpatient visits.The overall cost benefit of the improved air quality is estimated to be 165 million CNY,with the avoided premature death contributing 90%of this figure.The research demonstrates that Ben MAP-CE is capable of assessing the health and cost benefits of air pollution control for sound policy making. | Dian Ding Yun Zhu Carey Jang Che-Jen Lin Shuxiao Wang Joshua Fu Jian Gao Shuang Deng Junping Xie Xuezhen Qiu | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,4: | 13 |
| 3 | Design and demonstration of a next-generation air quality attainment assessment system for PM_(2.5)and O_3显示文摘Due to the increasingly stringent standards, it is important to assess whether the proposed emission reduction will result in ambient concentrations that meet the standards. The Software for Model Attainment Test—Community Edition(SMAT-CE) is developed for demonstrating attainment of air quality standards of O3 and PM2.5. SMAT-CE improves computational efficiency and provides a number of advanced visualization and analytical functionalities on an integrated GIS platform. SMAT-CE incorporates historical measurements of air quality parameters and simulated air pollutant concentrations under a number of emission inventory scenarios to project the level of compliance to air quality standards in a targeted future year. The software, RSM-VAT, uses a response surface modeling(RSM) methodology and serves as a visualization and analysis tool(VAT) for three-dimensional air quality data obtained by atmospheric models. The software features a number of powerful and intuitive data visualization functions for illustrating the complex nonlinear relationship between emission reductions and air quality benefits. | 5 | A case study of development and application of a streamlined control and response modeling system for PM_(2.5)attainment assessment in China显示文摘This article describes the development and application of a streamlined air control and response modeling system with a novel response surface modeling-linear coupled fitting method and a new module to provide streamlined model data for PM_(2.5) attainment assessment in China.This method is capable of significantly reducing the dimensions required to establish a response surface model,as well as capturing more realistic response of PM_(2.5) to emission changes with a limited number of model simulations.The newly developed module establishes a data link between the system and the Software for Model Attainment Test—Community Edition(SMAT-CE),and has the ability to rapidly provide model responses to emission control scenarios for SMAT-CE using a simple interface.The performance of this streamlined system is demonstrated through a case study of the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) in China.Our results show that this system is capable of reproducing the Community Multi-Scale Air Quality(CMAQ) model simulation results with maximum mean normalized error < 3.5%.It is also demonstrated that primary emissions make a major contribution to ambient levels of PM_(2.5) in January and August(e.g.,more than50%contributed by primary emissions in Shanghai),and Shanghai needs to have regional emission control both locally and in its neighboring provinces to meet China's annual PM_(2.5)National Ambient Air Quality Standard.The streamlined system provides a real-time control/response assessment to identify the contributions of major emission sources to ambient PM_(2.5)(and potentially O_3 as well) and streamline air quality data for SMAT-CE to perform attainment assessments. | Shicheng Long Yun Zhu Carey Jang Che-Jen Lin Shuxiao Wang Bin Zhao Jian Gao Shuang Deng Junping Xie Xuezhen Qiu | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,3: | 9 |

| 7 | The biological effect of metal ions on the granulation of aerobic granular activated sludge显示文摘As a special biofilm structure,microbial attachment is believed to play an important role in the granulation of aerobic granular activated sludge(AGAS).This experiment was to investigate the biological effect of Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),Zn^(2+),and K+which are the most common ions present in biological wastewater treatment systems,on the microbial attachment of AGAS and flocculent activated sludge(FAS),from which AGAS is always derived,in order to provide a new strategy for the rapid cultivation and stability control of AGAS.The result showed that attachment biomass of AGAS was about 300%higher than that of FAS without the addition of metal ions.Different metal ions had different effects on the process of microbial attachment.FAS and AGAS reacted differently to the metal ions as well,and in fact,AGAS was more sensitive to the metal ions.Specifically,Ca^(2+),Mg^(2+),and K+could increase the microbial attachment ability of both AGAS and FAS under appropriate concentrations,Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Zn^(2+)were also beneficial to the microbial attachment of FAS at low concentrations,but Cu^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Zn^(2+)greatly inhibited the attachment process of AGAS even at extremely low concentrations.In addition,the acylated homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing system,the content of extracellular polymeric substances and the relative hydrophobicity of the sludges were greatly influenced by metal ions.As all these parameters had close relationships with the microbial attachment process,the microbial attachment may be affected by changes of these parameters. | Wen Hao Yaochen Li Junping Lv Lisha Chen Jianrong Zhu | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,6: | 8 |

WB0104 consists of a circular 2765030 bp chromo- some with 61.69% G+C content and two circular plasmids of 267968 and 242707 bp. The genome contains 2727 open reading frames (ORFs). The systems of replication, transcription, translation, carbohydrate and energy metabolism are intact, but the repair system is incomplete. About 640 predicted ORFs have been found to encode transporter pro- teins, which account for about one fourth of total predicted ORFs, noticeably higher than other docu- mented bacteria. | 10 | Performance and role of N-acyl-homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing(QS) in aerobic granules显示文摘The present study investigated the relationship between N-acyl-homoserine lactone(AHL)-based quorum sensing(QS) and the physico-chemical properties of aerobic granules.Stable mature granules were observed in SBR2 and SBR3 with average diameters of 0.96,and1.49 mm,respectively. The sludge densities of aerobic granules in SBR2 and SBR3 were1.0246,and 1.0201 g/mL,respectively,which were higher than that of flocculent sludge in SBR1(1.0065 g/mL). The results showed that the activity of AHL-based QS in SBR2 and SBR3 amounted to 2.4- and 2.1-fold induction,however,that in SBR1 with flocculent sludge was1.6-fold induction. In addition,the results also showed that the activity of AHL-based QS in the three reactors rose in the feast condition,and then dropped with the consumption of substrate. However,the activity of AHL-based QS in these three reactors recovered again in prolonged starvation. Furthermore,the results showed that the enhancement of AHL-based QS favored the extracellular polymeric substance production of microorganisms in activated sludge. Thus,it could be concluded that aerobic granules showed higher AHL-based QS than flocculent sludge,which resulted from the higher sludge density of aerobic granules than flocculent sludge. AHL-based QS was related to the metabolism energy in the feast condition; however,in prolonged starvation,microorganisms would emit more AHL-like molecules to protect themselves to resist starvation. | 12 | Development of small molecule extracellular signal-regulated kinases(ERKs) inhibitors for cancer therapy显示文摘The mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2(ERK1/2) signaling pathway is widely activated by a variety of extracellular stimuli, and its dysregulation is associated with the proliferation, invasion, and migration of cancer cells. ERK1/2 is located at the distal end of this pathway and rarely undergoes mutations, making it an attractive target for anticancer drug development. Currently, an increasing number of ERK1/2 inhibitors have been designed and synthesized for antitumor therapy, among which representative compounds have entered clinical trials. When ERK1/2 signal transduction is eliminated, ERK5 may provide a bypass route to rescue proliferation, and weaken the potency of ERK1/2 inhibitors. Therefore, drug research targeting ERK5 or based on the compensatory mechanism of ERK5 for ERK1/2 opens up a new way for oncotherapy. | 14 | Determining antimicrobial resistance profiles and identifying novel mutations of Neisseria gonorrhoeae genomes obtained by multiplexed MinION sequencing显示文摘Gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases worldwide. To cure infection and prevent transmission,timely and appropriate antimicrobial therapy is necessary. Unfortunately, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the etiological agent of gonorrhea, has acquired nearly all known mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance(AMR), thereby compromising the efficacy of antimicrobial therapy. Treatment failure resulting from AMR has become a global public health concern. Whole-genome sequencing is an effective method to determine the AMR characteristics of N. gonorrhoeae. Compared with next-generation sequencing, the MinION sequencer(Oxford Nanopore Technologies(ONT)) has the advantages of long read length and portability. Based on a pilot study using MinION to sequence the genome of N. gonorrhoeae, we optimized the workflow of sequencing and data analysis in the current study. Here we sequenced nine isolates within one flow cell using a multiplexed sequencing strategy. After hybrid assembly with Illumina reads, nine integral circular chromosomes were obtained. By using the online tool Pathogenwatch and a BLAST-based workflow, we acquired complete AMR profiles related to seven classes of antibiotics. We also evaluated the performance of ONT-only assemblies. Most AMR determinants identified by ONT-only assemblies were the same as those identified by hybrid assemblies. Moreover, one of the nine assemblies indicated a potentially novel antimicrobial-related mutation located in mtrR which results in a frame-shift, premature stop codon, and truncated peptide.In addition, this is the first study using the MinION sequencer to obtain complete genome sequences of N. gonorrhoeae strains which are epidemic in China. This study shows that complete genome sequences and antimicrobial characteristics of N.gonorrhoeae can be obtained using the MinION sequencer in a simple and cost-effective manner, with hardly any knowledge of bioinformatics required.
