| 1 | Lateral Hypothalamic Area Glutamatergic Neurons and Their Projections to the Lateral Habenula Modulate the Anesthetic Potency of Isoflurane in Mice显示文摘The lateral hypothalamic area(LHA)plays a pivotal role in regulating consciousness transition,in which orexinergic neurons,GABAergic neurons,and melanin-concentrating hormone neurons are involved.Glutamatergic neurons have a large population in the LHA,but their anesthesia-related effect has not been explored.Here,we found that genetic ablation of LHA glutamatergic neurons shortened the induction time and prolonged the recovery time of isoflurane anesthesia in mice.In contrast,chemogenetic activation of LHA glutamatergic neurons increased the time to anesthesia and decreased the time to recovery.Optogenetic activation of LHA glutamatergic neurons during the maintenance of anesthesia reduced the burst suppression pattern of the electroencephalogram(EEG)and shifted EEG features to an arousal pattern.Photostimulation of LHA glutamatergic projections to the lateral habenula(LHb)also facilitated the emergence from anesthesia and the transition of anesthesia depth to a lighter level.Collectively,LHA glutamatergic neurons and their projections to the LHb regulate anesthetic potency and EEG features. | Shiyi Zhao Rui Li Huiming Li Sa Wang Xinxin Zhang Dan Wang Juan Guo Huihui Li Ao Li Tingting Tong Haixing Zhong Qianzi Yang Hailong Dong | 2021 | Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,7: | 5 |
| 2 | The next detectors for gravitational wave astronomy显示文摘This paper focuses on the next detectors for gravitational wave astronomy which will be required after the current ground based detectors have completed their initial observations, and probably achieved the first direct detection of gravitational waves. The next detectors will need to have greater sensitivity, while also enabling the world array of detectors to have improved angular resolution to allow localisation of signal sources. Sect. 1 of this paper begins by reviewing proposals for the next ground based detectors,and presents an analysis of the sensitivity of an 8 km armlength detector, which is proposed as a safe and cost-effective means to attain a 4-fold improvement in sensitivity. The scientific benefits of creating a pair of such detectors in China and Australia is emphasised. Sect. 2 of this paper discusses the high performance suspension systems for test masses that will be an essential component for future detectors, while sect. 3 discusses solutions to the problem of Newtonian noise which arise from fluctuations in gravity gradient forces acting on test masses. Such gravitational perturbations cannot be shielded, and set limits to low frequency sensitivity unless measured and suppressed. Sects. 4 and 5 address critical operational technologies that will be ongoing issues in future detectors. Sect. 4 addresses the design of thermal compensation systems needed in all high optical power interferometers operating at room temperature. Parametric instability control is addressed in sect. 5. Only recently proven to occur in Advanced LIGO, parametric instability phenomenon brings both risks and opportunities for future detectors. The path to future enhancements of detectors will come from quantum measurement technologies. | 3 | Multi-objective Optimisation Design of Water Distribution Systems:Comparison of Two Evolutionary Algorithms显示文摘In order to compare two advanced multi-objective evolutionary algorithms,a multi-objective water distribution problem is formulated in this paper.The multi-objective optimization has received more attention in the water distribution system design.On the one hand the cost of water distribution system including capital,operational,and maintenance cost is mostly concerned issue by the utilities all the time;on the other hand improving the performance of water distribution systems is of equivalent importance,which is often conflicting with the previous goal.Many performance metrics of water networks are developed in recent years,including total or maximum pressure deficit,resilience,inequity,probabilistic robustness,and risk measure.In this paper,a new resilience metric based on the energy analysis of water distribution systems is proposed.Two optimization objectives are comprised of capital cost and the new resilience index.A heuristic algorithm,speedconstrained multi-objective particle swarm optimization( SMPSO) extended on the basis of the multi-objective particle swarm algorithm,is introduced to compare with another state-of-the-art heuristic algorithm,NSGA-II.The solutions are evaluated by two metrics,namely spread and hypervolume.To illustrate the capability of SMPSO to efficiently identify good designs,two benchmark problems( two-loop network and Hanoi network) are employed.From several aspects the results demonstrate that SMPSO is a competitive and potential tool to tackle with the optimization problem of complex systems. | Haixing Liu Jing Lu Ming Zhao Yixing Yuan | 2016 | Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology(New Series)2016,23,3: | 3 |

| 6 | Changes of plant species diversity and biomass with reclaimed marshes restoration显示文摘Wetland restoration had been implemented for more than two decades in Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China.To assess the restoration effi ciency of wetland vegetation,we investigated plants composition of community,plant species diversity and aboveground biomass of restored sites in a chronosequence of restoration(1,2,3,6,8,11,15 and 25 years)in the Sanjiang Nature Reserve.As comparison,we also investigated the same factors in a cropland and a natural marsh adjacent to the restored sites.The results showed that wetland plant species can invade quickly after croplands were abandoned when there were suitable hydrology conditions.On the early stage of the restoration,weeds were main plant species in the restored sites.Wetland species appeared at the same time but diff ered from the dominant species from the adjacent natural marshes.Common native wetland species could dominance the community after 3-year restoration.Species richness and diversity increased on the early stage,and then decreased to the similar level of the natural marsh with the extension of restoration.Plant biomass could restore easier than the species composition and diversity.Our results indicated that plant species composition and diversity of abandoned reclaimed wetlands can restore gradually by natural succession in Sanjiang Plain.However,25-year restoration site had similarity index of only 56%with the natural marsh,which revealed that two decades are not enough for complete restoration of vegetation. | Xin Jin Xiaoxin Sun Haixing Li Danhui Zhao Dong Li Lei Wang Xiuling Man | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,1: | 2 |
