1Traditional herbal medicine in preventing recurrence after resection of small hepatocellular carcinoma: a multicenter randomized controlled trial显示文摘BACKGROUND: Disease recurrence is a main challenge in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). There is no generally accepted method for preventing recurrence of HCC after resection. OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of a traditional herbal medicine (THM) regimen and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in preventing recurrence in post-resection patients with small HCC. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS: This is a multicenter, open-label, randomized, controlled study, which was undertaken in five centers of China. A total of 379 patients who met the eligibility criteria and underwent randomization were enrolled in this trial. One hundred and eighty-eight patients were assigned to the THM group and received Cinobufacini injection and Jiedu Granule, and the other 191 patients were assigned to the TACE group and received one single course of TACE. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Primary outcome measures were the annual recurrence rate and the time to recurrence. Incidence of adverse events was regarded as the secondary outcome measure. RESULTS: Among the 364 patients who were included in the intention-to-treat analysis, 67 patients of the THM group and 87 of the TACE group had recurrence, with a hazard ratio of 0.695 (P = 0.048). Median recurrence-free survival of the patients in the THM and TACE groups was 46.89 and 34.49 months, respectively. Recurrence rates at 1, 2 and 3 years were 17.7%, 33.0% and 43.5% for the THM group, and 28.8%, 42.5% and 54.0% for the TACE group, respectively (P = 0.026). Multivariate analysis indicated that the THM regimen had a big advantage for prolonging the recurrence-free survival. Adverse events were mild and abnormality of laboratory indices of the two groups were similar. CONCLUSION: In comparison with TACE therapy, the THM regimen was associated with diminished risk of recurrence of small-sized HCC after resection, with comparable adverse events. 3Clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of primary liver cancer with integrative traditional Chinese and Western medicine显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is an important part of the treatment of primary liver cancer(PLC) in China; however, the current instructions for the integrative use of traditional Chinese and Western medicine for PLC are mostly based on expert opinion. There is no evidence-based guideline for clinical practice in this field. Therefore, the Shanghai Association of Chinese Integrative Medicine has established amultidisciplinary working group to develop this guideline, which focuses on the most important questions about the use of TCM during PLC treatment. This guideline was developed following the methodological process recommended by the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development.Two rounds of questionnaire survey were performed to identify clinical questions; published evidence was searched; the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation approach was used to evaluate the body of evidence; and recommendations were formulated by combining the quality of evidence, patient preferences and values, and other risk factors. The guideline was written based on the Reporting Items for Practice Guidelines in Healthcare tool. 4Perinatal complications and live-birth outcomes following assisted reproductive technology: a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Background:With the development of assisted reproductive technology(ART)and its increasing success rate in the mainland of China,more attention has been paid to the safety of ART.In this study,we explored the associations between conception by ART and pregnancy/perinatal complications,and neonatal outcomes compared with similar outcomes following spontaneous conception.Methods:This retrospective cohort study of pregnancies over a 3-year period(2013-2015)was performed at Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital,Beijing,China.Subjects were divided into two groups:conception by ART(n=2256)or spontaneous conception(n=6768).According to different fertilization modes,the ART group was divided into in vitro fertilization(IVF,n=1873)and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI,n=383)subgroups.The ART group was also divided into two different embryo transfer methods;fresh embryo transfer(ET,n=1583)and frozen embryo transfer(FET,n=673)subgroups.Pregnancy complications,perinatal complications,and neonatal outcomes of the enrolled subjects were investigated and analyzed by univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression.Results:After adjustment for maternal age,gravidity,parity,maternal education,smoking,alcohol consumption,and body mass index(BMI),pregnancies conceived by ART were associated with a significantly increased incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM;OR 1.88,95%CI 1.56-2.27),gestational hypertension(OR 2.18,95%CI 1.83-2.60),and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP)(OR 2.79,95%CI 2.15-3.64),compared with spontaneous conception.These associations were similar for the singleton group.In the twin group,only the incidence of ICP was significantly higher than in controls.We found that pregnancies conceived by ART were associated with perinatal complications,including placental abruption(OR 2.14,95%CI 1.33-3.45),premature rupture of membranes(PROM;OR 1.24,95%CI 1.06-1.45),postpartum hemorrhage(OR 2.89,95%CI 2.33-3.59)and polyhydramnios(OR 2.01,95%CI 1.29-3.16).The singleton group had a similar result with placental abruption,but not with fetal membranes ruptures before labor and polyhydramnios.There were no significant differences in the incidence of these perinatal complications in the twin group.Some neonatal outcomes,including preterm labor(OR 4.29,95%CI 3.84-4.80)and low birth weight(OR 1.72,95%CI 1.42-2.08),were more likely to occur with singleton births after ART.However,there were no significant differences for these outcomes from twin pregnancies.Perinatal complications and neonatal outcomes were consistent between the IVF and ICSI subgroups.The FET and ET subgroups showed a similar increase in complications,except for the incidence of placental abruption.After taking into account the effects of parity,birth plurality and maternal age,the ART group still exhibited increased maternal and neonatal complications,although some differences narrowed or disappeared.Conclusions:This retrospective cohort study demonstrated that patients who underwent ART were at increased risk of several adverse pregnancy outcomes compared with women who conceived spontaneously.These complications may be attributed in part to the relatively high multiple pregnancy rate after ART.Elective single embryo transfer should be promoted in China to reduce the obstetrical risks of ART pregnancy.Singletons of ART pregnancy exhibited increased maternal and neonatal complications as well,suggesting that underlying infertility or other maternal or parental factors may contribute to the adverse outcomes.Ling-Ling Lei Yong-Lian Lan Shu-Yu Wang Wei Feng Zhi-Jin Zhai 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,20:24
5Constraint-induced movement therapy enhances angiogenesis and neurogenesis after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘Constraint-induced movement therapy after cerebral ischemia stimulates axonal growth by decreasing expression levels of Nogo-A,RhoA,and Rho-associated kinase(ROCK)in the ischemic boundary zone.However,it remains unclear if there are any associations between the Nogo-A/RhoA/ROCK pathway and angiogenesis in adult rat brains in pathological processes such as ischemic stroke.In addition,it has not yet been reported whether constraint-induced movement therapy can promote angiogenesis in stroke in adult rats by overcoming Nogo-A/RhoA/ROCK signaling.Here,a stroke model was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion.Seven days after stroke,the following treatments were initiated and continued for 3 weeks:forced limb use in constraint-induced movement therapy rats(constraint-induced movement therapy group),intraperitoneal infusion of fasudil(a ROCK inhibitor)in fasudil rats(fasudil group),or lateral ventricular injection of NEP1-40(a specific antagonist of the Nogo-66 receptor)in NEP1-40 rats(NEP1-40 group).Immunohistochemistry and western blot assay results showed that,at 2 weeks after middle cerebral artery occlusion,expression levels of RhoA and ROCK were lower in the ischemic boundary zone in rats treated with NEP1-40 compared with rats treated with ischemia/reperfusion or constraint-induced movement therapy alone.However,at 4 weeks after middle cerebral artery occlusion,expression levels of RhoA and ROCK in the ischemic boundary zone were markedly decreased in the NEP1-40 and constraint-induced movement therapy groups,but there was no difference between these two groups.Compared with the ischemia/reperfusion group,modified neurological severity scores and foot fault scores were lower and time taken to locate the platform was shorter in the constraint-induced movement therapy and fasudil groups at 4 weeks after middle cerebral artery occlusion,especially in the constraint-induced movement therapy group.Immunofluorescent staining demonstrated that fasudil promoted an immune response of nerve-regeneration-related markers(BrdU in combination with CD31(platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule),Nestin,doublecortin,NeuN,and glial fibrillary acidic protein)in the subventricular zone and ischemic boundary zone ipsilateral to the infarct.After 3 weeks of constraint-induced movement therapy,the number of regenerated nerve cells was noticeably increased,and was accompanied by an increased immune response of tight junctions(claudin-5),a pericyte marker(a-smooth muscle actin),and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2.Taken together,the results demonstrate that,compared with fasudil,constraint-induced movement therapy led to stronger angiogenesis and nerve regeneration ability and better nerve functional recovery at 4 weeks after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.In addition,constraint-induced movement therapy has the same degree of inhibition of RhoA and ROCK as NEP1-40.Therefore,constraint-induced movement therapy promotes angiogenesis and neurogenesis after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury,at least in part by overcoming the Nogo-A/RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway.All protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of China Medical University,China on December 9,2015(approval No.2015 PS326 K).Zhi-Yong Zhai Juan Feng 2019Neural Regeneration Research2019,14,10:22
6Isolation and characterization of dengue virus serotype 2 from the large dengue outbreak in Guangdong, China in 2014显示文摘Dengue has been well recognized as a global public health threat,but only sporadic epidemics and imported cases were reported in recent decades in China.Since July 2014,an unexpected large dengue outbreak has occurred in Guangdong province,China,resulting in more than 40000 patients including six deaths.To clarify and characterize the causative agent of this outbreak,the acute phase serum from a patient diagnosed with severe dengue was subjected to virus isolation and high-throughput sequencing(HTS).Traditional real-time RT-PCR and HTS with Ion Torrent PGM detected the presence of dengue virus serotype 2(DENV-2).A clinical DENV-2 isolate GZ05/2014 was obtained by culturing the patient serum in mosquito C6/36 cells.The complete genome of GZ05/2014 was determined and deposited in Gen Bank under the access number KP012546.Phylogenetic analysis based on the complete envelope gene showed that the newly DENV-2 isolate belonged to Cosmopolitan genotype and clustered closely with other Guangdong strains isolated in the past decade.No amino acid mutations that are obviously known to increase virulence or replication were identified throughout the genome of GZ05/2014.The high homology of Guangdong DENV-2 strains indicated the possibility of establishment of local DENV-2 circulation in Guangdong,China.These results help clarify the origin of this epidemic and predict the future status of dengue in China.ZHAO Hui ZHAO Ling Zhai JIANG Tao LI Xiao Feng FAN Hang HONG Wen Xin ZHANG Yu ZHU Qin YE Qing TONG Yi Gang CAO Wu Chun ZHANG Fu Chun QIN Cheng Feng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,12:21
7Changes in Waist Circumference and Abdominal Obesity among Chinese Adults over a Ten-year Period显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to describe changes in waist circumference(WC) and prevalence of abdominal obesity over a period of 10 years among Chinese adults in different socio-economic status(SES). Methods Data derived from the China Nutrition and Health Surveillance during 2002 and 2010-2012. We calculated the mean WC and the prevalence of abdominal obesity by gender, place of residence, SES indicators(education, income, and marital status), and body mass index(BMI) categoriesand used pooled t-tests to assess the differences between the two time periods. Results 26.0% of men and 25.3% of women had abdominal obesity in 2010-2012. The age-adjusted mean WC increased by 2.7 cm among men and 2.1 cm among women; the age-adjusted prevalence of abdominal obesity increased by 7.7% among men and 5.3% among women. The rising trends were observed in all subgroups except for a negative growth in high-income women. People living in rural areas with low education and income and with a BMI of 18.5 to 23.9 kg/m^2 had a greater absolute and relative increase in WC. People living in rural areas with low income had a greater relative increase in abdominal obesity. Conclusion The mean WC and prevalence of abdominal obesity among Chinese adults have increased during the past 10 years. 8Polyphenolic Compound and the Degree of Browning in Processing Apple Varieties显示文摘Polyphenolic compound in processing apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) varieties and the relationship between polyphenol content and enzymatic browning were studied to provide reference for raw material selection and processing method optimization. The content of polyphenol compound in 10 processing apple varieties (4 cider and 6 juice varieties) were analyzed using the Folin-Ciocalteu method and HPLC. The degree of browning and the activities of polyphenol oxidase were also studied. The content and proportion of the polyphenol varied depending on the variety. Bitter varieties globally showed a higher polyphenol concentration than sweet or acid varieties. Proanthocyanidins, chlorogenic acid, (+)-catechin, (-)-epicatechin were high-concentrated polyphenols in apple fruits. Phloridzin, the unique polyphenol of apple, was abundant in the bitter variety Frequin rouge fruit. Total polyphenols, proanthocyanidins, (+)-catechin, and phloridzin had higher correlations with browning. The correlation was low between chlorogenic acid and browning. The polyphenolic profiles were correlated with the apple types. Cider apples contained more polyphenol than juice apple varieties. 9Effects of subchronic oral toxic metal exposure on the intestinal microbiota of mice显示文摘Oral exposure to toxic metals such as cadmium(Cd), lead(Pb), copper(Cu) and aluminum(Al) can induce various adverse health effects in humans and animals. However, the effects of these metals on the gut microbiota have received limited attention. The present study demonstrated that long-term toxic metal exposure altered the intestinal microbiota of mice in a metal-specific and time-dependent manner.Subchronic oral Cu exposure for eight weeks caused a profound decline in gut microbial diversity in mice,whereas no significant changes were observed in groups treated with other metals. Cd exposure significantly increased the relative abundances of organisms from the genera Alistipes and Odoribacter and caused marked decreases in Mollicutes and unclassified Ruminococcaceae. Pb exposure significantly decreased the abundances of eight genera: unclassified and uncultured Ruminococcaceae, unclassified Lachnospiraceae, Ruminiclostridium_9, Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group, Oscillibacter, Anaerotruncus and Lachnoclostridium. Cu exposure affected abundances of the genera Alistipes, Bacteroides,Ruminococcaceae_UCG-014, Allobaculum, Mollicutes_RF9_norank, Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group,Ruminococcaceae_unclassified and Turicibacter. Al exposure increased the abundance of Odoribacter and decreased that of Anaerotruncus. Exposure to any metal for eight weeks significantly decreased the abundance of Akkermansia. 11A Facile Recovery Process for Cathodes from Spent Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries by Using Oxalic Acid显示文摘A simplistic and novel leaching process is developed to dispose spent lithium iron phosphate(LiFePO_(4))batteries.In this paper,oxalic acid is selected as a leaching reagent to recover lithium as a resource and remove phosphorus from LiFePO_(4) batteries,benefiting from its low natural effects.The physical properties of spent cathode materials(before leaching)and residues(after leaching)are identified by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electronic microscopy(SEM)with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS).The total amounts of Li and Fe are analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES).The process occurs under conditions of a 0.3 mol·L^(-1) oxalic acid concentration,a temperature of 80℃,a reaction time of 60 min and a solid/liquid ratio of 60 g·L^(-1).It can effectively precipitate92%ferrum in terms of FeC_(2)O_(4)·2H_(2)O from LiFePO4,with the leaching efficiency of Li achieving up to 98%.This method demonstrates a new strategy for dealing with spent lithium iron phosphate batteries with a low cost and low environmental impact.Li Li Jun Lu Longyu Zhai Xiaoxiao Zhang Larry Curtiss Yi Jin Feng Wu Renjie Chen Khalil Amine 2018CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2018,4,2:12

14Inflammatory biomarkers and cerebral small vessel disease:a community-based cohort study显示文摘Background and purpose Although inflammation has been proposed to be a candidate risk factor for cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD),previous findings remain largely inconclusive and vary according to disease status and study designs.The present study aimed to investigate possible associations between inflammatory biomarkers and MRI markers of CSVD.Methods A group of 15 serum inflammatory biomarkers representing a variety of those putatively involved in the inflammatory cascade was grouped and assessed in a cross-sectional study involving 960 stroke-free subjects.The biomarker panel was grouped as follows:systemic inflammation(high-sensitivity C reactive protein(hsCRP),interleukin 6 and tumour necrosis factorα),endothelial-related inflammation(E-selectin,P-selectin,intercellular adhesion molecule 1,vascular cell adhesion molecule 1(VCAM-1),CD40 ligand,lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2,chitinase-3-like 1 protein and total homocysteine(tHCY))and media-related inflammation(matrix metalloproteinases 2,3 and 9,and osteopontin).The association(s)between different inflammatory groups and white matter hyperintensity(WMH),lacunes,cerebral microbleeds(CMBs),enlarged perivascular space(PVS)and the number of deep medullary veins(DMVs)were investigated.Results High levels of serum endothelial-related inflammatory biomarkers were associated with both increased WMH volume(R^(2)=0.435,p=0.015)and the presence of lacunes(R^(2)=0.254,p=0.027).Backward stepwise elimination of individual inflammatory biomarkers for endothelial-related biomarkers revealed that VCAM-1 was significant for WMH(β=0.063,p=0.005)and tHCY was significant for lacunes(β=0.069,p<0.001).There was no association between any group of inflammatory biomarkers and CMBs or PVS.Systemic inflammatory biomarkers were associated with fewer DMVs(R^(2)=0.032,p=0.006),and backward stepwise elimination of individual systemic-related inflammatory biomarkers revealed that hsCRP(β=−0.162,p=0.007)was significant.Conclusion WMH and lacunes were associated with endothelial-related inflammatory biomarkers,and fewer DMVs were associated with systemic inflammation,thus suggesting different underlying inflammatory processes and mechanisms.Ding-Ding Zhang Yuan Cao Jing-Yu Mu Yi-Ming Liu Feng Gao Fei Han Fei-Fei Zhai Li-Xin Zhou Jun Ni Ming Yao Ming-Li Li Zheng-Yu Jin Shu-Yang Zhang Li-Ying Cui Yong Shen Yi-Cheng Zhu 2022Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4:11
15Effect of High Suspension and Low Incision Surgery Based on Traditional Ligation of Chinese Medicine in Treatment of Mixed Haemorrhoids:A Multi-centre,Randomized,Single-Blind,Non-inferiority Clinical Trial显示文摘Objective:To observe the clinical effect of high suspension and low incision(HSLI)surgery on mixed haemorrhoids,compared with Milligan-Morgan haemorrhoidectomy.Methods:A multi-centre,randomized,singleblind,non-inferiority clinical trial was performed.Participants with mixed haemorrhoids from Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,Beijing Rectum Hospital,Air Force Medical Center of People's Liberation Army of China,and Puyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were enrolled from September 2016 to March 2018.By using a blocked randomization scheme,participants were assigned to two groups.The experimental group was treated with HSLI,while the control group was treated with Milligan-Morgan haemorrhoidectomy.The primary outcome was the clinical effect evaluated at 12 weeks after operation.The secondary outcomes included the number of haemorrhoids treated during the operation,pain scores,use of analgesics,postoperative oedema,wound healing,incidence of anal stenosis,anorectal manometry after operation,as well as surgical duration,length of stay and total hospitalization expenses.A safety evaluation was also conducted.Results:In total,246 eligible participants were enrolled,with 123 cases in each group.There was no significant difference in the clinical effect between the two groups(100.00% vs.99.19%,P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the number of external haemorrhoids treated during the operation and the pain scores after operation were significantly reduced in the experimental group(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the patient number with wound healing at 2 weeks after operation and the functional length of anal canal at 12 weeks after operation were significantly increased in the experimental group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of anal stenosis,the numbers of patients using analgesics and patients with postoperative oedema between the two groups after operation(P>0.05).The surgical duration and length of stay in the experimental group were significantly longer than those in the control group,and the total hospitalization expense was significantly higher than that in the control group(all P<0.05).No adverse events were reported in either group during the whole trial or follow-up period.Conclusion:HSLI had the advantages of preserving the skin of anal canal completely,alleviating postsurgical pain and promoting rapid recovery after operation.(Registration No.Chi CTR1900022883).JIA Xiao-qiang CAO Wei-wei QUAN Long-fang ZHAO Wei-bing CHENG Fang JIA Shan FENG Liu-quan WEI Xu-feng XIE Zhen-nian WANG Dong XU Chun-yan CUI Chun-hui CAI Xing-juan HE Lan-ye WANG Zhan-jun TIAN Ying SHI Shu-min SUN Si-miao SU Liang ZHAI Meng-fan 2021Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021,27,9:11
16Inactivated Sendai Virus Suppresses Murine Melanoma Growth by Inducing Host Immune Responses and Down-regulating β-catenin Expression显示文摘Objective This paper aims to investigate the anti-tumor mechanism of inactivated Sendai virus (Hemagglutinating virus of Japan envelope, HVJ-E) for murine melanoma (B16F10). Methods The murine dendritic cells (DCs) were treated with HVJ-E, and then the cytokines secreted from DCs and costimulation-related molecules on DCs were measured. Meanwhile, the expression of β-catenin in HVJ-E treated murine melanoma cells was detected. In addition, HVJ-E was intratumorally injected into the melanoma on C57BL/6 mice, and the immune cells, CTL response and tumor volume were analyzed. Results HVJ-E injected into B16F10 melanoma obviously inhibited the growth of the tumor and prolonged the survival time of the tumor-bearing mice. Profiles of cytokines secreted by dendritic cells (DCs) after HVJ-E stimulation showed that the number of cytokines released was significantly higher than that elicited by PBS (P<0.05). The co-stimulation-related molecules on DCs were comparable to those stimulated by LPS. Immunohistochemical examinations demonstrated the repression of β-catenin in B16F10 melanoma cells after HVJ-E treatment. Meanwhile, real-time reverse transcription PCR revealed that HVJ-E induced a remarkable infiltration of CD11c positive cells, chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10) molecules, interleukin-2 (IL-2) molecule, CD4 + and CD8 + T cells into HVJ-E injected tumors. Furthermore, the mRNA expression level of β-catenin in the HVJ-E injected tumors was also down-regulated. In addition, B16F10-specific CTLs were induced significantly after HVJ-E was injected into the tumor-bearing mice. Conclusion This is the first report to show the effective inhibition of melanoma tumors by HVJ-E alone and the mechanism through which it induces antitumor immune responses and regulates important signal pathways for melanoma invasion. 17MoS_(2) wrapped MOF-derived N-doped carbon nanocomposite with wideband electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘Designing electromagnetic wave absorption(EMWA)materials with wide bandwidth,strong absorption,and light weight is still a great challenge for practical applications.Herein,the novel nitrogen doped carbon(NDC)/MoS_(2) composite with rationally designed composition and structure was developed.The NDC particles were introduced into MoS_(2) nanosheets through the calcination of ZIF-8 precursor and consequent hydrothermal process.A series of characterizations were carried out to investigate the physical properties of the as-prepared nanocomposites.The NDC particles exhibited the shape of rhombic dodecahedron with the size of about 500 nm,which were decorated on flower-shaped MoS_(2) with the size of about 3μm.With the increasing NDC content,the absorbing properties of NDC/MoS_(2) composites increased firstly and then decreased.The features of NDC/MoS_(2) composite including interconnected porous structure,nitrogen dopant,and appropriate electrical conductivity gave rise to the polarization,multiple reflection,multiple scattering,and impedance matching,resulting in the outstanding EMWA performance.With a filler loading ratio of 30 wt.%,the optimized EMWA property can be achieved when the mass ratio of NDC to MoS_(2) was adjusted to be 1:1.At a coating thickness of 3.0 mm,the effective EMWA bandwidth(<−10 dB)reached 6.08 GHz(8.56–14.64 GHz).These satisfactory achievements provide a way for the reasonable design of high-performance EMWA and new ideas for future research on wideband EMWA.Juhua Luo Mengna Feng Ziyang Dai Chenye Jiang Wei Yao Naixin Zhai 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:8
18The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST)显示文摘The Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST, also called the Guo Shou Jing Telescope) is a special reflecting Schmidt telescope. LAMOST's special design allows both a large aperture (effective aperture of 3.6 m-4.9 m) and a wide field of view (FOV) (5°). It has an innovative active reflecting Schmidt configuration which continuously changes the mirror's surface that adjusts during the observation process and combines thin deformable mirror active optics with segmented active optics. Its primary mirror (6.67m×6.05 m) and active Schmidt mirror (5.74m×4.40 m) are both segmented, and composed of 37 and 24 hexagonal sub-mirrors respectively. By using a parallel controllable fiber positioning technique, the focal surface of 1.75 m in diameter can accommodate 4000 optical fibers. Also, LAMOST has 16 spectrographs with 32 CCD cameras. LAMOST will be the telescope with the highest rate of spectral acquisition. As a national large scientific project, the LAMOST project was formally proposed in 1996, and approved by the Chinese government in 1997. The construction started in 2001, was completed in 2008 and passed the official acceptance in June 2009. The LAMOST pilot survey was started in October 2011 and the spectroscopic survey will launch in September 2012. Up to now, LAMOST has released more than 480 000 spectra of objects. 19Identification and characterization of Argonaute gene family and meiosis-enriched Argonaute during sporogenesis in maize显示文摘Argonaute(AGO) proteins play a key role in regulation of gene expression through small RNA‐directed RNA cleavage and translational repression, and are essential for multiple developmental processes. In the present study, 17 AGO genes of maize(Zea mays L., ZmAGOs) were identified using a Hidden Markov Model and validated by rapid amplification of cDNA ends assay. Subsequently, quantitative PCR revealed that expressions of these genes were higher in reproductive than in vegetative tissues. AGOs presented five temporal and spatial expression patterns, which were likely modulated by DNA methylation, 50‐untranslated exons and microRNA‐mediated feedback loops. Intriguingly, ZmAGO18 b was highly expressed in tassels during meiosis. Furthermore, in situ hybridization and immunofluorescence showed that ZmAResearchGO18b was enriched in the tapetum and germ cells in meiotic anthers.
