Modeling study of regional severe hazes over mid-eastern China in January 2013 and its implications on pollution prevention and control显示文摘The Nested Air Quality Prediction Model System(NAQPMS)was used to investigate the temporal and spatial variations of PM2.5over tropospheric central eastern China in January 2013.The impact of regional transport and its implications on pollution prevention and control were also examined.Comparison between simulated and observed PM2.5showed NAQPMS was able to reproduce the evolution of PM2.5during heavy haze episodes. The results indicated that regional transport of PM2.5played an important role in regional haze episodes in the city cluster including Hebei,Beijing and Tianjin(HBT).The cross-city clusters transport outside HBT and transport among cities inside HBT contributed 20%–35%and 26%–35%of PM2.5as compared with local emission,in HBT respectively. To meet the Air Quality Standards for Grade II,90%,90%and65%of emissions would have to be cut down in Hebei,Tianjin and Beijing,if non-control strategy was taken in the surrounding city clusters of HBT.This implicated that control of emissions in one city cluster is not sufficient to reduce regional haze events, and joint efforts among city clusters are essential.Besides regional transports,two-way feedback between boundary-layer evolution and PM2.5also significantly contributed to the formation of heavy hazes, which contributed 30%of monthly average PM2.5concentration in HBT. | WANG ZiFa LI Jie WANG Zhe YANG WenYi TANG Xiao GE BaoZhu YAN PinZhong ZHU LiLi CHEN XueShun CHEN HuanSheng WAND Wei LI JianJun LIU Bing WANG XiaoYan WAND Wei ZHAO YiLin LU Ning SU DeBin | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,1: | 106
Prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder in China:A Nationwide Multi-center Population-based Study Among Children Aged 6 to 12 Years显示文摘This study aimed to obtain the first national estimate of the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in Chinese children. We targeted the population of 6 to 12-year-old children for this prevalence study by multistage convenient cluster sampling. The Modified Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scale was used for the screening process.Of the target population of 142,086 children,88.5%(n=125,806) participated in the study.A total of 363 children were confirmed as having ASD.The observed ASD prevalence rate was 0.29%(95% CI:0.26%-0.32%) for the overall population. After adjustment for response rates, the estimated number of ASD cases was867 in the target population sample, thereby achieving an estimated prevalence of 0.70%(95% CI:0.64%-0.74%).The prevalence was significantly higher in boys than in girls(0.95%;95% CI:0.87%-1.02% versus 0.30%;95%CI:0.26%-0.34%;P <0.001).Of the 363 confirmed ASD cases,43.3% were newly diagnosed, and most of those(90.4%) were attending regular schools, and 68.8% of the children with ASD had at least one neuropsychiatric comorbidity. Our findings provide reliable data on the estimated ASD prevalence and comorbidities in Chinese children. | Hao Zhou Xiu Xu Weili Yan Xiaobing Zou Lijie Wu Xuerong Luo Tingyu Li Yi Huang Hongyan Guan Xiang Chen Meng Mao Kun Xia Lan Zhang Erzhen Li Xiaoling Ge Lili Zhang Chunpei Li Xudong Zhang Yuanfeng Zhou Ding Ding Andy Shih Eric Fombonne Yi Zheng Jisheng Han Zhongsheng Sun Yong-hui Jiang Yi Wang LATENT-NHC Study Team | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9: | 158
Cold-chain food contamination as the possible origin of COVID-19 resurgence in Beijing显示文摘COVID-19,caused by SARS-CoV-2[1,2],has been contained in China through stringent non-pharmaceutical interventions.Border control and quarantine have effectively prevented the virus from being spread by infected travellers, but the risk of resurgence caused by other routes of introduction and transmission remains unclear, and current strategies to prevent resurgence could be flawed.Since July,SARS-CoV-2 RNA contaminations in frozen food imported from countries with ongoing epidemics have been reported in nine provinces in China[3,4].However,there is no robust evidence of COVID-19 outbreaks initiated by environmentto-human transmission. Here we add to evidence of such transmission by investigating the recent COVID-19 resurgence in Beijing. | Xinghuo Pang Lili Ren Shuangsheng Wu Wentai Ma Jian Yang Lin Di Jie Li Yan Xiao Lu Kang Shichang Du Jing Du Jing Wang Gang Li Shuguang Zhai Lijuan Chen Wenxiong Zhou Shengjie Lai Lei Gao Yang Pan Quanyi Wang Mingkun Li Jianbin Wang Yanyi Huang Jianwei Wang COVID-19 Field Response Group COVID-19 Laboratory Testing Group | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,12: | 51
Erianin,a novel dibenzyl compound in Dendrobium extract, inhibits lung cancer cell growth and migration via calcium/calmodulin-dependent ferroptosis显示文摘Ferroptosis,a novel form of programmed cell death,is characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and has been shown to be involved in multiple diseases, including cancer.Stimulating ferroptosis in cancer cells may be a potential strategy for cancer therapy.Therefore,ferroptosis-inducing drugs are attracting more attention for cancer treatment. Here,we showed that erianin,a natural product isolated from Dendrobium chrysotoxum Lindl, exerted its anticancer activity by inducing cell death and inhibiting cell migration in lung cancer cells.Subsequently,we demonstrated for the first time that erianin induced ferroptotic cell death in lung cancer cells, which was accompanied by ROS accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and GSH depletion. The ferroptosis inhibitors Fer-1 and Lip-1 but not Z-VAD-FMK,CQ,or necrostatin-1 rescued erianin-induced cell death, indicating that ferroptosis contributed to erianin-induced cell death.Furthermore,we demonstrated that Ca^(2+)/CaM signaling was a critical mediator of erianin-induced ferroptosis and that blockade of this signaling significantly rescued cell death induced by erianin treatment by suppressing ferroptosis.Taken together, our data suggest that the natural product erianin exerts its anticancer effects by inducing Ca^(2+)/CaMdependent ferroptosis and inhibiting cell migration, and erianin will hopefully serve as a prospective compound for lung cancer treatment. | Peng Chen Qibiao Wu Jiao Feng Lili Yan Yitian Sun Shuiping Liu Yu Xiang Mingming Zhang Ting Pan Xiaying Chen Ting Duan Lijuan Zhai Bingtao Zhai Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Xuemeng Han Yicong Li Liuxi Chen Ying Liu Xingxing Huang Ting Jin Wenzheng Zhang Hong Luo Xiaohui Chen Yongqiang Li Qiujie Li Guohua Li Qin Zhang Lvjia Zhuo Zuyi Yang Huifen Tang Tian Xie Xiaoping Ouyang Xinbing Sui | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 42
Baicalin induces ferroptosis in bladder cancer cells by downregulating FTH1显示文摘Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic regulated cell death caused by iron accumulation and subsequent lipid peroxidation.Currently, the therapeutic role of ferroptosis on cancer is gaining increasing interest.Baicalin an active component in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi with anticancer potential various cancer types;however, the effects of baicalein on bladder cancer and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. In the study,we investigated the effect of baicalin on bladder cancer cells5637 and KU-19-19.As a result,we show baicalin exerted its anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis and cell death in bladder cancer cells.Subsequently,we for the first time demonstrate baicalin-induced ferroptotic cell death in vitro and in vivo, accompanied by reactive oxygen species(ROS) accumulation and intracellular chelate iron enrichment. The ferroptosis inhibitor deferoxamine but not necrostatin-1,chloroquine(CQ),N-acetyl-L-cysteine,L-glutathione reduced,or carbobenzoxy-valyl-alanyl-aspartyl-[O-methyl]-fluoromethylketone(Z-VAD-FMK) rescued baicalin-induced cell death, indicating ferroptosis contributed to baicalin-induced cell death.Mechanistically,we show that ferritin heavy chain1(FTH1) was a key determinant for baicalin-induced ferroptosis.Overexpression of FTH1 abrogated the anticancer effects of baicalin in both 5637 and KU19-19 cells.Taken together, our data for the first time suggest that the natural product baicalin exerts its anticancer activity by inducing FTH1-dependent ferroptosis, which will hopefully provide a prospective compound for bladder cancer treatment. | Na Kong Xiaying Chen Jiao Feng Ting Duan Shuiping Liu Xueni Sun Peng Chen Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Yu Xiang Quan Gao Chengyong Wen Weirui Ma Wencheng Liu Mingming Zhang Zuyi Yang Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Tian Xie Xinbing Sui Wei Tao | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12: | 23
A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking, one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents. In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches, including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps. The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size, and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families, respectively, accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry. Moreover, the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine, forage, papermaking, and barkcloth making. We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively, these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition. Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making, and as forage. These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide. | Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,5: | 18
Quantum secure direct communication and authentication protocol with single photons显示文摘A quantum secure direct communication and authentication protocol is proposed by using single photons. An information transmission is completed by sending photons once in quantum channel, which improves the efficiency without losing the security. The protocol encodes identity-string of the receiver as single photons sequence, which acts as detection sequence and implements authentication. Before secret message is encoded as single photons sequence,it is encrypted with identity-string of the sender by using XOR operation, which defends quantum teleportation attack efficiently. The base identity-strings of the sender and the receiver are reused unconditionally secure even in noisy channel.Compared with the protocol proposed by Wang et al.(Phys Lett A,2006,358:256–258),the protocol in this study sends photons once in one transmission and defends most attacks including‘man-in-the-middle’attack and quantum teleportation attack efficiently. | CHANG Yan XU ChunXiang ZHANG ShiBin YAN LiLi | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,36: | 16
Effect of electric acupoint stimulation on gastrointestinal hormones and motility among geriatric postoperative patients with gastrointestinal tumors显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of electric acupoint stimulation on gastrointestinal hormones and motility among geriatric postoperative patients with gastrointestinal tumors, and to explore an efficient and noninvasive method for postoperative recovery of bowel functions.METHODS:Forty patients were randomly and evenly assigned into a regular nursing care group(RNC) and an acupoint electric stimulation group(AES).Patients in the RNC group received regular nursing care and patients in the AES group received regular nursing care plus electric stimulation of acupoints. The serum levels of gastrin(GAS),motilin(MOT),and cholecystokinin(CCK),and an electrogastrogram(EGG) of all the patients were evaluated on the first, third, and fifth day after surgery. The time to first flatus after surgery and the number of patients with side effects such as abdominal pain, abdominal distention, and diarrhea were recorded.RESULTS:There were significant differences between the two groups in GAS,MOT,EGG,time to first flatus, abdominal pain, abdominal distention, and diarrhea(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:Electric stimulation on acupoints could increase levels of GAS and MOT,promote the recovery of gastrointestinal functions, and decrease complications among postoperative senile patients with gastrointestinal tumors. | Hou Lili Xu Lei Shi Yan Gu Fen | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4: | 15
Novel and potent inhibitors targeting DHODH are broad-spectrum antivirals against RNA viruses including newly-emerged coronavirus SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Emerging and re-emerging RNA viruses occasionally cause epidemics and pandemics worldwide, such as the on-going outbreak of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.Herein,we identified two potent inhibitors of human DHODH,S312 and S416,with favorable drug-likeness and pharmacokinetic profiles, which all showed broad-spectrum antiviral effects against various RNA viruses, including influenza A virus,Zika virus,Ebola virus, and particularly against SARS-CoV-2.Notably,S416 is reported to be the most potent inhibitor so far with an EC5o of 17 nmol/L and an SI value of 10,505.88 in infec-ted cells. Our results are the first to validate that DHODH is an attractive host target through high antiviral efficacy in vivo and low virus replication in DHODH knock-out cells. This work demonstrates that both S312/S416 and old drugs(Leflunomide/Teriflunomide)with dual actions of antiviral and immuno-regulation may have clinical potentials to cure SARS-CoV-2 or other RNA viruses circulating worldwide,no matter such viruses are mutated or not. | Rui Xiong Leike Zhang Shiliang Li Yuan Sun Minyi Ding Yong Wang Yongliang Zhao Yan Wu Weijuan Shang Xiaming Jiang Jiwei Shan Zihao Shen Yi Tong Liuxin Xu Yu Chen Yingle Liu Gang Zou Dimitri Lavillete Zhenjiang Zhao Rui Wang Lili Zhu Gengfu Xiao Ke Lan Honglin Li Ke Xu | 2020 | Protein & Cell2020,11,10: | 14
COVID-19: Challenges to GIS with Big Data显示文摘The outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has caused more than 100,000 people infected and thousands of deaths.Currently, the number of infections and deaths is still increasing rapidly.COVID-19 seriously threatens human health, production, life, social functioning and international relations. In the fight against COVID-19,Geographic Information Systems(GIS)and big data technologies have played an important role in many aspects, including the rapid aggregation of multi-source big data, rapid visualization of epidemic information, spatial tracking of confirmed cases, prediction of regional transmission, spatial segmentation of the epidemic risk and prevention level, balancing and management of the supply and demand of material resources, and socialemotional guidance and panic elimination, which provided solid spatial information support for decision-making,measures formulation, and effectiveness assessment of COVID-19 prevention and control.GIS has developed and matured relatively quickly and has a complete technological route for data preparation, platform construction, model construction, and map production. However, for the struggle against the widespread epidemic, the main challenge is finding strategies to adjust traditional technical methods and improve speed and accuracy of information provision for social management. At the data level,in the era of big data, data no longer come mainly from the government but are gathered from more diverse enterprises. As a result, the use of GIS faces difficulties in data acquisition and the integration of heterogeneous data, which requires governments, businesses, and academic institutions to jointly promote the formulation of relevant policies. At the technical level, spatial analysis methods for big data are in the ascendancy.Currently and for a long time in the future, the development of GIS should be strengthened to form a data-driven system for rapid knowledge acquisition, which signifies ts that GIS should be used to reinforce the social operation parameterization of models and methods, especially when providing support for social management. | Chenghu Zhou Fenzhen Su Tao Pei An Zhang Yunyan Du Bin Luo Zhidong Cao Juanle Wang Wen Yuan Yunqiang Zhu Ci Song Jie Chen Jun Xu Fujia Li Ting Ma Lili Jiang Fengqin Yan Jiawei Yi Yunfeng Hu Yilan Liao Han Xiao | 2020 | Geography and Sustainability2020,1,1: | 13

Controlled quantum secure direct communication and authentication protocol based on five-particle cluster state and quantum one-time pad显示文摘A controlled quantum secure direct communication and authentication protocol is proposed with a quantum one-time pad based on five-particle cluster state.Photon 4 in each five-particle cluster state is sent to the controller as permission.Unitary operation I(U)on photon4 according to identity-string of the receiver is used to forbid the controller to deduce secret message. The classical XOR operation serving as a one-time-pad is used to forbid external eavesdroppers to eavesdrop.Eavesdropping detection and identity authentication are implemented by previously shared reusable base identity-strings.In one transmission, one qubit of each five-particle cluster state is used as controller’s permission, and two qubits are used to transmit two classical bit information. | Yan Chang Chunxiang Xu Shibin Zhang Lili Yan | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,21: | 13
Fluoride Conversion Coating on Biodegradable AZ31B Magnesium Alloy显示文摘A fluoride conversion coating was successfully prepared on AZ31 B magnesium alloy by chemical reaction in hydrofluoric acid.Morphologies, composition, bonding strength, corrosion properties,in vitro cytotoxicity and antibacterial properties of the coating were investigated, respectively. The scanning electron microscopy observations revealed a dense coating with some irregular pores. The thin-film X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the coating was mainly composed of MgO and MgF2.The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results showed that the fluoride conversion coating significantly improved the corrosion resistance of AZ31 B.The hydroxyapatite formed on the surface of the fluoride coated AZ31 B after being immersed in the simulated blood plasma indicated the good bioactivity of the material. The in vitro cytotoxicity test showed that the fluoride coated AZ31 B alloy was not toxic to BMMSCs(human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells). It was also found that the fluoride coated AZ31 B alloy had antibacterial capability. | Tingting Yan Lili Tan Bingchun Zhang Ke Yang | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,7: | 11
Superabsorbent Fibers for Comfortable Disposable Medical Protective Clothing显示文摘Disposable medical protective clothing for 2019-nCoV mainly consists of stacked layers with nanopore films, polymer coated nonwoven fabrics and melt-blown nonwoven fabrics against anti-microbial and anti-liquid penetration. However, such structures lack moisture permeability and breathability leading to an uncomfortable, stuffy wearing experience. Here,we propose a novel medical protective clothing material with a superabsorbent layer to enhance moisture absorption.Poly(acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/polyvinyl alcohol superabsorbent fibers(PAAAM/PVA fibers)were prepared via wet spinning. And the superabsorbent composite layer was stacked from PAAAM/PVA fibers, bamboo pulp fibers(BPF)and ethylene-propyl-ene side by side fibers(ESF).The novel disposable medical protective composite fabric was obtained through gluing the superabsorbent layer to the inner surface of strong antistatic polypropylene nonwoven fabric. The resultant composite fabric possesses excellent absorption and retention capacity for sweat,up to 12.3 g/g and 63.8%,and a maximum hygroscopic rate of 1.04 g/h,higher than that of the conventional material(only 0.53 g/h).The moisture permeability of the novel material reached 12,638.5 g/(m^(2) d),which was 307.6%of the conventional material. The novel material can effectively reduce the humidity inside the protective clothing and significantly improve the comfort of medical staff. | Lin Yang Hong Liu Shuai Ding Jiawei Wu Yan Zhang Zhongzhen Wang Lili Wei Mingwei Tian Guangming Tao | 2020 | Advanced Fiber Materials2020,2,3: | 11
Regulation network and expression profiles of Epstein-Barr virus-encoded microRNAs and their potential target host genes in nasopharyngeal carcinomas显示文摘Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)is associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)tumorigenesis. However, the mechanism(s)connecting EBV infection and NPC remain unclear.Recently,a new class of EBV microRNAs(miRNAs)has been described. To determine how EBV miRNAs control the expression of host genes, and to understand their potential role in NPC tumorigenesis,we profiled the expression of 44 mature EBV miRNAs and potential host genes in NPC and non-tumor nasopharyngeal epithelial tissues. We found that 40 EBV miRNAs from the BART transcript were highly expressed in NPC.Analysis of potential BART miRNA target genes revealed that 3140 genes and several important pathways might be involved in the carcinogenesis of NPC.A total of 105 genes with potential EBV miRNA binding sites were significantly downregulated, suggesting that EBV miRNAs may regulate these genes and contribute to NPC carcinogenesis. An EBV miRNA and host gene regulation network was generated to provide useful clues for validating of EBV miRNA functions in NPC tumorigenesis. | ZENG ZhaoYang HUANG HongBin HUANG LiLi SUN MengXi YAN QiJia SONG YaLi WEI Fang BO Hao GONG ZhaoJian ZENG Yong LI Qiao ZHANG WenLing LI XiaYu XIANG Bo LI XiaoLing LI Yong XIONG Wei LI GuiYuan | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,3: | 10
Periodontitis may induce gut microbiota dysbiosis via salivary microbiota显示文摘The aim of this study was to identify whether periodontitis induces gut microbiota dysbiosis via invasion by salivary microbes.First, faecal and salivary samples were collected from periodontally healthy participants(PH group,n=16)and patients with severe periodontitis(SP group,n=21)and analysed by 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing.Significant differences were observed in both the faecal and salivary microbiota between the PH and SP groups.Notably, more saliva-sourced microbes were observed in the faecal samples of the SP group. Then, the remaining salivary microbes were transplanted into C57BL6/J mice(the C-PH group and the C-SP group),and it was found that the composition of the gut microbiota of the C-SP group was significantly different from that of the C-PH group, with Porphyromonadaceae and Fusobacterium being significantly enriched in the C-SP group. In the colon, the C-SP group showed significantly reduced crypt depth and zonula occludens-1 expression. The m RNA expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines and tight junction proteins were significantly higher in the C-SP group. To further investigate whether salivary bacteria could persist in the intestine, the salivary microbiota was stained with carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester and transplanted into mice.We found that salivary microbes from both the PH group and the SP group could persist in the gut for at least 24 h.Thus, our data demonstrate that periodontitis may induce gut microbiota dysbiosis through the influx of salivary microbes. | Jun Bao Lili Li Yangheng Zhang Min Wang Faming Chen Shaohua Ge Bin Chen Fuhua Yan | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3: | 9
WIP1 Phosphatase Plays a Critical Neuroprotective Role in Brain Injury Induced by High-Altitude Hypoxic Inflammation显示文摘The hypobaric hypoxic environment in highaltitude areas often aggravates the severity of inflammation and induces brain injury as a consequence. However, the critical genes regulating this process remain largely unknown. The phosphatase wild-type p53-induced phosphatase 1(WIP1) plays important roles in various physiological and pathological processes, including the regulation of inflammation in normoxia, but its functions in hypoxic inflammation-induced brain injury remain unclear. Here, we established a mouse model of this type of injury and found that WIP1 deficiency augmented the release of inflammatory cytokines in the peripheral circulation and brain tissue, increased the numbers of activated microglia/macrophages in the brain, aggravated cerebral histological lesions, and exacerbated the impairment of motor and cognitive abilities. Collectively, these results provide the first in vivo evidence that WIP1 is a critical neuroprotector against hypoxic inflammation-induced brain injury. | Dahu Li Lijun Zhang Xin Huang Lili Liu Yunling He Lun Xu Yiyao Zhang Tong Zhao Liying Wu Yongqi Zhao Kuiwu Wu Yan Wu Ming Fan Lingling Zhu | 2017 | Neuroscience Bulletin2017,33,3: | 9
Breeding strategy of Acrossocheilus fasciatus in the Puxi Stream of the Huangshan Mountain显示文摘Breeding strategies of Acrossocheilus fasciatus were studied from 592 specimens collected monthly during May 2007 and April 2008 in the Puxi Stream of the Huangshan Mountain.Sex ratio of the studied population was 0.90∶1(♀∶♂),not significantly different from 1∶1.Both sexes reached their first sexual maturity at age 2(the second calendar year of their birth).Fifty percent of females and males reached maturity at a total length of 69.75 mm and 69.36 mm respectively, and the minimum total length was 61.54 mm and 58.96 mm,respectively.Based on the monthly changes in gonado-somatic index and egg-development process, the breeding season of the population was from May to August, with one obvious interval(in June)occurring in the breeding activity for the females. The nonsynchronous development of oocytes observed in mature ovaries indicated that A.fasciatus is a batch spawner.Absolute fecundity of A.fasciatus ranged from 308 to 2002 eggs with a mean of 857 eggs, increased significantly with total length, and was significantly different among three age groups.Relative fecundity ranged from 38.63 to 71.70 egg/g with a mean of 53.29 egg/g,and was not significantly different among the three age groups. It was suggested that these reproductive characteristics were adaptive strategies for A.fasciatus to acclimatize to lotic water where environmental factors were unstable but predictable. | Yunzhi YAN Lili GUO Xiuying XIANG Yilong XI Yifeng CHEN | 2009 | Current Zoology2009,55,5: | 9
