2GIS-based Effect Assessment of Soil Erosion Before and After Gully Land Consolidation: A Case Study of Wangjiagou Project Region, Loess Plateau显示文摘The Loess Plateau is one typical area of serious soil erosion in the world. China has implemented ′Grain for Green′(GFG) project to restore the eco-environment of the Loess Plateau since 1999. With the GFG project subsidy approaching the end, it is concerned that farmers of fewer subsidies may reclaim land again. Thus, ′Gully Land Consolidation Project′(GLCP) was initiated in 2010. The core of the GLCP was to create more land suitable for farming in gullies so as to reduce land reclamation on the slopes which are ecological vulnerable areas. This paper aims to assess the effect of the GLCP on soil erosion problems by studying Wangjiagou project region located in the central part of Anzi valley in the middle of the Loess Plateau, mainly using the revised universal soil loss equation(RUSLE) based on GIS. The findings show that the GLCP can help to reduce soil shipment by 9.87% and it creates more terraces and river-nearby land suitable for farming which account for 27.41% of the whole study area. Thus, it is feasible to implement the GLCP in places below gradient 15°, though the GLCP also intensifies soil erosion in certain places such as field ridge, village land, floodplain, natural grassland, and shrub land. In short, the GLCP develops new generation dam land and balances the short-term and long-term interests to ease the conflicts between economic development and environmental protection. Furthermore, the GLCP and the GFG could also be combined preferably. 4Neuroprotective Autophagic Flux Induced by Hyperbaric Oxygen Preconditioning is Mediated by Cystatin C显示文摘We have previously reported that Cystatin C(CysC) is a pivotal mediator in the neuroprotection induced by hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) preconditioning; however,the underlying mechanism and how CysC changes after stroke are not clear. In the present study, we demonstrated that CysC expression was elevated as early as 3 h after reperfusion, and this was further enhanced by HBO preconditioning. Concurrently, LC3-II and Beclin-1, two positive-markers for autophagy induction, exhibited increases similar to CysC, while knockdown of CysC blocked these elevations. As a marker of autophagy inhibition, p62 was downregulated by HBO preconditioning and this was blocked by CysC knockdown. Besides, the beneficial effects of preserving lysosomal membrane integrity and enhancing autolysosome formation induced by HBO preconditioning were abolished in CysC-/-rats.Furthermore, we demonstrated that exogenous CysC reduced the neurological deficits and infarct volume after brain ischemic injury, while 3-methyladenine partially reversed this neuroprotection. 5Metaverse:Perspectives from graphics,interactions and visualization显示文摘The metaverse is a visual world that blends the physical world and digital world.At present,the development of the metaverse is still in the early stage,and there lacks a framework for the visual construction and exploration of the metaverse.In this paper,we propose a framework that summarizes how graphics,interaction,and visualization techniques support the visual construction of the metaverse and user-centric exploration.We introduce three kinds of visual elements that compose the metaverse and the two graphical construction methods in a pipeline.We propose a taxonomy of interaction technologies based on interaction tasks,user actions,feedback and various sensory channels,and a taxonomy of visualization techniques that assist user awareness.Current potential applications and future opportunities are discussed in the context of visual construction and exploration of the metaverse.We hope this paper can provide a stepping stone for further research in the area of graphics,interaction and visualization in the metaverse.Yuheng Zhao Jinjing Jiang Yi Chen Richen Liu Yalong Yang Xiangyang Xue Siming Chen 2022Visual Informatics2022,6,1:10
6Lentinan administration alleviates diarrhea of rotavirus-infected weaned pigs via regulating intestinal immunity显示文摘Background:Lentinan(LNT)may regulate many important physiological functions of human and animals.This study aimed to verify whether LNT administration could relieve diarrhea via improving gut immunity in rotavirus(RV)-challenged weaned pigs.Methods:Twenty-eight weaned pigs were randomly fed 2 diets containing 0 or 84 mg/kg LNT product for 19 d(n=14).RV infection was executed on d 15.After extracting polysaccharides from LNT product,its major monosaccharides were analyzed.Then,LNT polysaccharide was used to administrate RV-infected IPEC-J2 cells.Results:Dietary LNT supplementation supported normal function of piglets even when infected with RV,as reflected by reduced growth performance loss and diarrhea prevalence,and maintained gut immunity(P<0.05).The polysaccharide was isolated from LNT product,which molecular weight was 5303 Da,and major monosaccharides included glucose,arabinose and galactose.In RV-infected IPEC-J2 cells,this polysaccharide significantly increased cell viability(P<0.05),and significantly increased anti-virus immunity via regulating pattern recognition receptors and host defense peptides(P<0.05).Conclusion:Those results suggest that LNT administration increases the piglets’resistance to RV-induced stress,likely by supporting intestinal immunity.Xiangqi Fan Haiyan Hu Daiwen Chen Bing Yu Jun He Jie Yu Junqiu Luo Erik Eckhardt Yuheng Luo Jianping Wang Hui Yan Xiangbing Mao 2021Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,3:8
7Is graphite lithiophobic or lithiophilic?显示文摘Graphite and lithium metal are two classic anode materials and their composite has shown promising performance for rechargeable batteries.However,it is generally accepted that Li metal wets graphite poorly,causing its spreading and infiltration difficult.Here we show that graphite can either appear superlithiophilic or lithiophobic,depending on the local redox potential.By comparing the wetting performance of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite,porous carbon paper(PCP),lithiated PCP and graphite powder,we demonstrate that the surface contaminants that pin the contact-line motion and cause contact-angle hysteresis have their own electrochemical-stability windows.The surface contaminants can be either removed or reinforced in a time-dependent manner,depending on whether the reducing agents(C6→Li C6)or the oxidizing agents(air,moisture)dominate in the ambient environment,leading to bifurcating dynamics of either superfast or superslow wetting.Our findings enable new fabrication technology for Li–graphite composite with a controllable Li-metal/graphite ratio and present great promise for the mass production of Li-based anodes for use in high-energy-density batteries.Jian Duan Yuheng Zheng Wei Luo Wangyan Wu Tengrui Wang Yong Xie Sa Li Ju Li Yunhui Huang 2020National Science Review2020,7,7:8
8Dietary lycopene supplementation improves meat quality,antioxidant capacity and skeletal muscle fiber type transformation in finishing pigs显示文摘This study aimed to investigate effects of dietary lycopene supplementation on meat quality,antioxidant ability and muscle fiber type transformation in finishing pigs.In a 70-day experiment,18 DurocLandraceYorkshire barrows were randomly allocated to 3 dietary treatments including a basal diet supplemented with 0,100 and 200 mg/kg lycopene,respectively.Each dietary treatment had 6 replicates with one pig each.Results showed that dietary 200 mg/kg lycopene supplementation increased muscle redness a^(*)value,intramuscular fat and crude protein contents,and decreased muscle lightness L^(*)and yellowness b^(*)values(P<0.05),suggesting that addition of 200 mg/kg lycopene to the diet of finishing pigs improved color,nutritional value and juiciness of pork after slaughter.Results also showed that dietary lycopene supplementation enhanced antioxidant capacity of finishing pigs(P<0.05).Moreover,dietary supplementation of 200 mg/kg lycopene significantly increased slow myosin heavy chain(MyHC)protein level and slow-twitch fiber percentage,and decreased fast MyHC protein level and fast-twitch fiber percentage(P<0.05),suggesting that the addition of 200 mg/kg lycopene to the diet of finishing pigs promoted muscle fiber type conversion from fast-twitch to slow-twitch.Together,we provide the first evidence that dietary 200 mg/kg lycopene supplementation improves meat quality,enhances antioxidant capacity and promotes muscle fiber type transformation from fast-twitch to slow-twitch in finishing pigs.Wanxue Wen Xiaoling Chen Zhiqing Huang Daiwen Chen Bing Yu Jun He Yuheng Luo Hui Yan Hong Chen Ping Zheng Jie Yu 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,1:8

11FABP4 secreted by M1-polarized macrophages promotes synovitis and angiogenesis to exacerbate rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Increasing evidence shows that adipokines play a vital role in the development of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Fatty acid-binding protein 4(FABP4),a novel adipokine that regulates inflammation and angiogenesis,has been extensively studied in a variety of organs and diseases.However,the effect of FABP4 on RA remains unclear.Here,we found that FABP4 expression was upregulated in synovial M1-polarized macrophages in RA.The increase in FABP4 promoted synovitis,angiogenesis,and cartilage degradation to exacerbate RA progression in vivo and in vitro,whereas BMS309403(a FABP4 inhibitor)and anagliptin(dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor)inhibited FABP4 expression in serum and synovial M1-polarized macrophages in mice to alleviate RA progression.Further studies showed that constitutive activation of mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1(mTORC1)by TSC1 deletion specifically in the myeloid lineage regulated FABP4 expression in macrophages to exacerbate RA progression in mice.In contrast,inhibition of mTORC1 by ras homolog enriched in brain(Rheb1)disruption specifically in the myeloid lineage reduced FABP4 expression in macrophages to attenuate RA development in mice.Our findings established an essential role of FABP4 that is secreted by M1-polarized macrophages in synovitis,angiogenesis,and cartilage degradation in RA.BMS309403 and anagliptin inhibited FABP4 expression in synovial M1-polarized macrophages to alleviate RA development.Hence,FABP4 may represent a potential target for RA therapy.Dong Guo Chuangxin Lin Yuheng Lu Hong Guan Weizhong Qi Hongbo Zhang Yan Shao Chun Zeng Rongkai Zhang Haiyan Zhang Xiaochun Bai Daozhang Cai 2022Bone Research2022,10,4:5

13Deer Body Adaptive Threshold Segmentation Algorithm Based on Color Space显示文摘In large-scale deer farming image analysis,K-means or maximum between-class variance(Otsu)algorithms can be used to distinguish the deer from the background.However,in an actual breeding environment,the barbed wire or chain-link fencing has a certain isolating effect on the deer which greatly interferes with the identification of the individual deer.Also,when the target and background grey values are similar,the multiple background targets cannot be completely separated.To better identify the posture and behaviour of deer in a deer shed,we used digital image processing to separate the deer from the background.To address the problems mentioned above,this paper proposes an adaptive threshold segmentation algorithm based on color space.First,the original image is pre-processed and optimized.On this basis,the data are enhanced and contrasted.Next,color space is used to extract the several backgrounds through various color channels,then the adaptive space segmentation of the extracted part of the color space is performed.Based on the segmentation effect of the traditional Otsu algorithm,we designed a comparative experiment that divided the four postures of turning,getting up,lying,and standing,and successfully separated multiple target deer from the background.Experimental results show that compared with K-means,Otsu and hue saturation value(HSV)+K-means,this method is better in performance and accuracy for adaptive segmentation of deer in artificial breeding scenes and can be used to separate artificially cultivated deer from their backgrounds.Both the subjective and objective aspects achieved good segmentation results.This article lays a foundation for the effective identification of abnormal behaviour in sika deer.Yuheng Sun Ye Mu Qin Feng Tianli Hu He Gong Shijun Li Jing Zhou 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,8:5
14Tannic acid extracted from gallnut prevents post-weaning diarrhea and improves intestinal health of weaned piglets显示文摘This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of different levels of tannic acid(TA)on growth performance,diarrhea rate,nutrient digestibility and intestinal health in weaned piglets.A total of 180 weaned piglets(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire,24 d of age,initial average BW=7.77±0.17 kg)were allotted to 5 groups(6 pigs/pen and 6 replicates/group)in a randomized complete block design according to their gender and body weight.Piglets were fed a basal diet,or the basal diet supplemented with 0.05%,0.1%,0.2%or 0.4%TA for 28 d.The supplementary levels of TA in the diets were obtained by adding tannalbin containing 51%TA and 40.17%protein.The results showed that,compared with the CON group,dietary TA did not affect ADFI,ADG or F:G,and linearly reduced(P<0.01)the diarrhea rate and diarrhea index of piglets.There were no significant effects on apparent total tract digestibility(ATTD)in the 0.05%,0.1%and 0.2%TA groups,while negative effects(P<0.05)on apparent digestibility of crude protein and gross energy were observed in the 0.4%TA group.In addition,the nutrient digestibility of dry matter,crude protein and gross energy linearly decreased(P<0.01)with the increase of TA dosage.Supplementation of TA increased(P<0.05)the villus height of the duodenum and jejunum,as well as increased(P<0.05)catalase(CAT)activity in serum.Dietary TA improved(P<0.05)the Bacillus counts in cecal digesta.Further,TA significantly improved(P<0.05)Bacillus counts and reduced(P<0.05)the Escherichia coli counts in colonic digesta.The concentration of acetic acid,pro pionic acid,butyric acid and isovaleric acid in cecal digesta were significantly increased(P<0.05).The mRNA expression level of zonula occludens-1(Z0-1),zonula occludens-2(ZI-2),and claudin-2(CLDN-2)in the jejunum were greater(P<0.05)in TA supplemented groups.The study showed that,compared to the control,TA prevented post-weaning diarrhea and improved intestinal health of weaned piglets,and the appropriate level of TA supplementation would be from 0.1%to 0.2%.Yanyan Song Yong Luo Bing Yu Jun He Ping Zheng Xiangbing Mao Zhiqing Huang Junqiu Luo Yuheng Luo Hui Yan Quyuan Wang Huifen Wang Daiwen Chen Jie Yu 2021Animal Nutrition2021,,4:5

16Differential expression, molecular cloning,and characterization of porcine beta defensin 114显示文摘Background:β-defensins have attracted considerable research interest because of their roles in protecting hosts from various pathogens.This study was conducted to investigate the expression profiles of the porcineβ-defensin114(PBD114)in different breeds and in response to infections.Moreover,the function of PBD114 protein was partially investigated.Methods:Six Tibetan pigs(TP)and six DLY(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire)pigs were slaughtered to explore the expression profiles of PBD114 in different breeds and tissues.For infection models,sixteen DLY pigs were divided into two groups and challenged either with sterile saline or E.coli K88.The recombinant protein PBD114(r PBD114)was obtained by using a heterologous expression system in E.coli.Results:PBD114 gene was highly expressed in tissues such as the intestine,liver,spleen,and thymus.Interestingly,the expression level of PBD114 gene was higher in the TP pigs than in the DLY pigs(P<0.05),and was significantly elevated upon E.coli K88 challenge(P<0.05).The nucleotide sequences of PBD114 from Tibetan and DLY pigs was identical,and both showed a 210-bp open reading frame encoding a 69-amino acid mature peptide.To explaore the function of PBD114 protein,PBD114 gene was successfully expressed in E.coli Origami B(DE3)and the molecular weight of the r PBD114 was estimated by SDS-PAGE to be 25 k Da.The r PBD114 was purified and mass spectrometry verified the protein as PBD114.Importantly,r PBD114 showed antimicrobial activities against E.coli DH5αand E.coli K88,and the minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs)were 64 and 128μg/m L,respectively.Hemolytic and cytotoxicity assays showed that r PBD114 did not affect cell viability under physiological concentrations.Conclusions:PBD114 is an infection response gene that is differentially-expressed between different porcine breeds and tissues.The antimicrobial activity of PBD114 protein,against pathogens such as the E.coli K88,suggested that it may serve as a candidate for the substitution of conventionally used antibiotics.Guoqi Su Kunhong Xie Daiwen Chen Bing Yu Zhiqing Huang Yuheng Luo Xiangbing Mao Ping Zheng Jie Yu Junqiu Luo Jun He 2019Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019,10,4:4

19Supplementing daidzein in diets improves the reproductive performance, endocrine hormones and antioxidant capacity of multiparous sows显示文摘Certain hormones play important roles in modulating mammalian reproductive behaviour.Daidzein is a well-known isoflavonic phytoestrogen that possesses oestrogenic activity.This study was conducted to probe the effects of daidzein supplementation in gestation diets on the reproductive performance in sows.A total of 120 multiparous sows(Landrace x Yorkshire)were randomly assigned to 2 groups(n=60)and fed either a base diet(control)or one containing 200 mg/kg daidzein during gestation.We discovered that daidzein supplementation significantly increased the total number of piglets born per litter and number of piglets born alive per litter(P<0.05),decreased the farrowing time(P<0.05)and increased the serum oestrogen and progesterone concentrations(P<0.05)at 35 d of gestation.Moreover,serum immunoglobulin G(IgG)concentration and superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activities were higher in the daidzein-treated group than in the control group at35 d of gestation(P<0.05).Daidzein increased the serum SOD activity and total anti-oxidative capacity(T-AOC)at 85 d of gestation(P<0.05).Interestingly,daidzein elevated the expression levels of the sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporter 1(SLC38 A1)and insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)genes in the placenta(P<0.05).These results suggest that daidzein ingestion could improve sow reproductive performance by changing serum hormones,elevating anti-oxidative capacity and upregulating critical functional genes in the placenta.Yan Li Guoru He Daiwen Chen Bing Yu Jie Yu Ping Zheng Zhiqing Huang Yuheng Luo Junqiu Luo Xiangbing Mao Hui Yan Jun He 2021Animal Nutrition2021,,4:4
20Rice metabolic regulatory network spanning the entire life cycle显示文摘As one of the most important crops in the world,rice(Oryza sativa)is a model plant for metabolome research.Although many studies have focused on the analysis of specific tissues,the changes in metab-olite abundance across the entire life cycle have not yet been determined.In this study,combining both tar-geted and nontargeted metabolite profiling methods,a total of 825 annotated metabolites were quantified in rice samples from different tissues covering the entire life cycle.The contents of metabolites in different tissues of rice were significantly different,with various metabolites accumulating in the plumule and radicle during seed germination.Combining these data with transcriptome data obtained from the same time period,we constructed the Rice Metabolic Regulation Network.The metabolites and co-expressed genes were further divided into 12 clusters according to their accumulation patterns,with members within each cluster displaying a uniform and clear pattern of abundance across development.Using this dataset,we established a comprehensive metabolic profile of the rice life cycle and used two independent strategies to identify novel transcription factors-namely the use of known regulatory genes as bait to screen for new networks underlying lignin metabolism and the unbiased identification of new glycerophospholipid metabolism regulators on the basis of tissue specificity.This study thus demonstrates how guilt-by-association analysis of metabolome and transcriptome data spanning the entire life cycle in cereal crops provides novel resources and tools to aid in understanding the mechanisms underlying important agro-nomic traits.Chenkun Yang Shuangqian Shen Shen Zhou Yufei Li Yuyuan Mao Junjie Zhou Yuheng Shi Longxu An Qianqian Zhou Wenju Peng Yuanyuan Lyu Xuemei Liu Wei Chen Shouchuang Wang Lianghuan Qu Xianqing Liu Alisdair R.Fernie Jie Luo 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,2:3
