1Atmospheric Pb variations in Central Asia since 1955 from Muztagata ice core record, eastern Pamirs显示文摘A Muztagata ice core recovered at 7010 m altitude in East Pamirs provides a Pb concentration record from 1955 to 2000. The result reveals in- creasing Pb concentrations from 1955 to 1993, with two Pb concentration peaks in 1980 and 1993. After 1993, Pb concentrations in ice core show an obvi- ously declining trend. 2Plant coexistence can enhance phytoextraction of cadmium by tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) in contaminated soil显示文摘A mesocosm experiment was conducted to investigate whether plant coexistence affects cadmium (Cd) uptake by plant in contaminated soil.Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.var.K326) and Japanese clover (Kummerowia striata (Thunb.) Schindl.) were used.Cadmium was applied as 3CdSO 4 ·8H 2 O in solution at three levels (0,1,and 3 mg/kg soil) to simulate an unpolluted soil and soils that were slightly and moderately polluted with Cd.Tobacco (crop),Japanese clover (non-crop),and their combination were grown under each Cd treatment.Compared to monoculture and under all Cd treatments,co-planting with Japanese clover did not affect tobacco biomass but significantly increased Cd concentration in all tobacco tissues and enhanced Cd accumulation in tobacco shoots and roots.Compared to monoculture,co-planting reduced soil pH and increased Cd bioavailability.For tobacco,co-planting with Japanese clover increased the Cd bioconcentration factor (BCF) in Cd contaminated soil.Japanese clover also accumulated substantial quantities of Cd in shoots and roots.Thus,total Cd uptake by the plants was much greater with co-planting than with monoculture.The results suggested that phytoextraction can be effectively increased through tobacco co-planting with Japanese clover in mildly Cd-contaminated soil.Ling Liu Yuefang Li Jianjun Tang Liangliang Hu Xin Chen 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,3:9

4A submillimeter observation and study of star-forming regions显示文摘Using the 3-m radio telescope of KOSMA, we mapped 12CO (J = 3-2) lines for three molecular clouds, B35, S146 and TMC-2A. High-velocity molecular outflows are found in all these regions. The physical and dynamical pa-rameters of the outflows are derived, and their shapes and driving sources are analyzed. Contour maps of center veloci-ties show that the large scale systematic gradients exist in the three clouds. These observed motions are best explained by rotation after excluding the cause of outflows. Furthermore, in the core region of TMC-2A there is a velocity gradient in opposite direction from that of the large scale. It may be caused by magnetic braking. Finally, angular velocities of the clouds are calculated, and the effects of rotation against gravity and lowering the star-formation rate are also ana-lyzed.JIANG Linhua, WU Yuefang & M. 5Accumulation in Dasuopu ice core in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and solar activity显示文摘The time series of accumulation in recent 300 years correlated well with solar activity in Dasuopu ice core. Results of spectrum analysis on the accumulation time series of the Dasuopu ice core shows that there are some periods that coincide with the periods of solar activity. 6Foreign Direct Investment with Chinese Characteristics:A Middle Path Between Ownership-Location-Internalization Model and Linkage-Leverage-Learning Model显示文摘The majority of multinational enterprises(MNEs) traditionally originate from developed countries.In the last ten years,however,there has been dramatic growth in foreign direct investment(FDI) from China.It is a comparatively new phenomenon that challenges the classic FDI theories.In this paper,we review the pros and cons of two important theories,known as the Ownership-Location-Internalization(OLI) model and Linkage-Leverage-Learning(LLL) model,and use the statistical data and company case studies from China to test the plausibility of these two models.We believe that neither of them suits totally: the OLI model is quite useful for understanding FDI from China to developing economies,while the LLL model is more powerful for explaining the FDI to developed economies.We argue that the companies from China attain a very advantageous position as intermediates in the global economy.They may catch up with the first movers if they integrate OLI-led and LLL-led FDI within one firm.This combination can bring together the most advanced knowledge acquired in developed economies with the knowledge about adaptation needs and the needs for cost reduction in production as expressed in developing economies.It may also accelerate the knowledge transfer globally.We thus fill a gap in research into the geographical pattern of Chinese FDI and offer a deeper understanding of the internationalization of Chinese MNEs and revolving knowledge transfer.SI Yuefang Ingo LIEFNER WANG Tao 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,5:7
7Development of community health service-oriented computer-assisted information system for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases显示文摘Objective:Community health services are an emerging trend.We have found in practice that diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases in the community are distinct.The respiratory department’s daily work involves a number of outpatient registration items and a vast workload.The routine manual operation is inefficient and it is not convenient to make effective statistical analysis of the outpatient data to identify the risk factors closely related to diseases.Therefore,it is imperative to process the outpatient information of patients with respiratory diseases effectively and efficiently in a unified manner by means of computer technology.Methods:The design and realization of the Community Health Service-oriented computerassisted Information System for Diagnosis and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases(CHS-DTRD)was completed as part of the community intervention study on bronchial asthma that was carried out jointly by the Nanjing First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University and the Hospital of Nanjing University of Science&Technology,and based on 2 years of experience and the needs of an overall analysis.Results:The computer-assisted information system for diagnosis and treatment was developed using Java Server Page(JSP)technology and introducing the advanced Asynchronous JavaScript XML(AJAX)technique and MS-SQL Server was used in the background database.CHS-DTRD was composed of eight functional modules(outpatient data maintenance,outpatient appointment,intelligent analysis for disease risk factors,query and statistics,data dictionary maintenance,database manipulation,access control,and system configuration).CHS-DTRD featured a friendly interface,convenient operation,and stability and reliability.Conclusion:Community health-oriented diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases is simple,programmable,and intuitive,thus the workload of physicians is significantly reduced and the work efficiency is improved.This system facilitates an intelligent analysis of disease risk factors using data mining technology,and provides physicians with suggestions on intelligent analysis for diagnosis of disease and conclusion of disease causes.Yuefang Wu Xin Yao Peili Sun Yong Hu Yuchuan Zhu Yin Hu 2013Family Medicine and Community Health2013,1,4:6
8Water softening by induced crystallization in fluidized bed显示文摘Fluidized bed and induced crystallization technology were combined to design a new type of induced crystallization fluidized bed reactor. The added particulate matter served as crystal nucleus to induce crystallization so that the insoluble material, which was in a saturated state, could precipitate on its surface. In this study, by filling the fluidized bed with quartz sand and by adjusting water p H, precipitation of calcium carbonate was induced on the surface of quartz sand, and the removal of water hardness was achieved.With a reactor influent flow of 60 L/hr, a fixed-bed height of 0.5 m, pH value of 9.5, quartz sand nuclear diameter of 0.2–0.4 mm, and a reflux ratio of 60%, the effluent concentration of calcium hardness was reduced to 60 mg/L and 86.6% removal efficiency was achieved. The resulting effluent reached the quality standard set for circulating cooling water. Majority of the material on the surface of quartz sand was calculated to be calcium carbonate based on energy spectrum analysis and moisture content was around 15.994%. The Pb profile shows a very significant increase in modern times due to anthropogenic input, The use of leaded gasoline in the South Asian countries may be a main source of Pb in this region. 10Main pollution sources of central Arctic revealed by lead and its isotopic ratios recorded in snow显示文摘The spatial distribution and environmental significance of Pb and its stable isotope ratios in central Arctic snow are discussed. The shear zone is a dividing line. The concentration of Pb in the south section is higher than that of the north section, and in the shear zone it is close to that of sea salt. Anthropogenic Pb by calculation is larger than 99%. Its main sources are polluted air masses origi nation from Europe and the midpart of Russia, as well as the western North America and far east Russia. 12Investigation of physicochemical properties and in-vitro in-vivo evaluation of agomelatine polymorphs显示文摘In the present study,Form I,Form II and Form III of agomelatine were prepared to investigate the variability of polymorphs,then the in-vitro in-vivo correlation were established.The presence of three polymorphs of agomelatine was corroborated through studies by XRPD,TGA and DSC.All the forms obtained were then subjected to the powder and intrinsic dissolution tests.The IDR ranked in the order of Form III>Form I>Form II.Form I and Form III both underwent solvent-mediated phase transformation(SMPT)to Form II during dissolution and the transition points were 62 and 45 min,respectively.Pharmacokinetic profiles were acquired after oral administration of tablets,showing that the ka and AUC0e12 h of Form I,Form II,Form III were 0.580.11,0.340.05,0.740.07 h1 and 296.2549.39,186.0545.93,331.1654.74 ng*h/ml,respectively.Good linearities between IDR and ka,IDR and AUC were established,suggesting that the agomelatine polymorphic forms with faster dissolution rates in-vitro would increase the rate and extent of oral absorption in-vivo.These results demonstrated that IDR was predictive in estimating the relative bioavailability of agomelatine polymorphic forms.Wei Du Yuefang Zhou Yafei Gong Chunshun Zhao 2013Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2013,8,3:4

14Concentration of trace elements and their sources in a snow pit from Yuzhu Peak, north-east Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘In order to understand the potential influence of pollution from human activity on the natural cycle of trace elements in the at- mosphere over the eastern Kunlun mountains, north-eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, concentrations of Al, Fe, Ba, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Li, Ni, Zn, Pb, Sb, Sr, U and V in a 75 cm-deep snow pit recovered from 5,800 m a.s.l. of the Yuzhu Peak Glacier on October 25, 2009, were determined by a sector field inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The results indicate that con- centrations of the measured trace elements vary by orders of magnitude from one element to another ranging from the minimum value 1.2 pg/g (U) to the maximum value 293 ng/g (Fe); the value of Max/Min ranges from 7 pg/g (Sd) to 358 pg/g (Li). EFc val- ues of measured trace elements show that there are other important sources except dust for Cd, Sb, Zn, Pb and Cu. Comparison of the concentrations of the measured trace elements with those in other areas in the Tibetan Plateau indicates that trace element con- centrations for Yuzhu Peak are lower than those in east Tianshan and Muztagh Ata (Pamirs). Concentrations of some trace ele- ments are also lower than those in East Rongbuk Glacier. 15Global pollution shown by lead and cadmium contents in precipitation of polar regions and Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The analysis of the major ions, lead and cadmium has been performed for snow-pit samples collected from the Arctic, the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and the Antarctic Ice Sheet. These snow pits were excavated respectively from the snowpack in Canadian Northwest Territory (NWT) and the central Arctic, three glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and surface snow along the route of the International Trans-Antarctic Expedition (ITAE). The source regions for the lead pollution of central Arctic have been identified by analyzing of stable lead isotopic ratios, meteorological and atmospheric chemistry studies. It shows that the central Arctic is still under intensive lead input, despite the fact that lead content in Greenland Ice Sheet displays a rapid decreasing since the 1970s due to US and some European countries’ campaigns to reduce lead-containing gasoline-additives. 16Diurnal hydrological controls and non-filtration effects on minor and trace elements in stream water draining the Qiyi Glacier, Qilian Mountain显示文摘Diurnal minor and trace elements in glacial outflow water draining the Qiyi Glacier and associated hydrological controls as well as the filtration effects on water chemistry were examined. Results show that major ions, Li, Sr, and Ba are exported predominately as mobile monovalent or divalent ions and are controlled by hydrological variations over the diurnal cycle exhibiting an inverse concentration with discharge, suggesting that Li, Sr, and Ba can be used as tracers in subglacial hydrological investigations. Conversely, other elements (e.g. Fe, Al, and Cr) exhibit variations that are not strongly correlated with the discharge reflecting the physicochemical controls. The non-filtered operation appears not to strongly influence Sr and Ba, but has an effect on some elements such as Fe, Al, V, Ti, and Co, indicating that these changed elements are transported in particulate forms and thus their concentrations are highly dependent on particulate numbers in solutions. 17Iron in the NEEM ice core relative to Asian loess records over the last glacial–interglacial cycle显示文摘Mineral dust can indirectly affect the climate by supplying bioavailable iron(Fe)to the ocean.Here,we present the records of dissolved Fe(DFe)and total Fe(TDFe)in North Greenland Eemian Ice Drilling(NEEM)ice core over the past 110 kyr BP.The Fe records are significantly negatively correlated with the carbon-dioxide(CO_(2))concentrations during cold periods.The results suggest that the changes in Fe fluxes over the past 110 kyr BP in the NEEM ice core are consistent with those in Chinese loess records because the mineral-dust distribution is controlled by the East Asian deserts.Furthermore,the variations in the dust input on a global scale are most likely driven by changes in solar radiation during the last glacial–interglacial cycle in response to Earth’s orbital cycles.In the last glacial–interglacial cycle,the DFe/TDFe ratios were higher during the warm periods(following the post-Industrial Revolution and during the Holocene and last interglacial period)than during the main cold period(i.e.the last glacial maximum(LGM)),indicating that the aeolian input of iron and the iron fertilization effect on the oceans have a non-linear relationship during different periods.Although the burning of biomass aerosols has released large amounts of DFe since the Industrial Revolution,no significant responses are observed in the DFe and TDFe variations during this period,indicating that severe anthropogenic contamination has no significant effect on the DFe(TDFe)release in the NEEM ice core.Cunde Xiao Zhiheng Du Mike J Handley Paul A Mayewski Junji Cao Simon Schüpbach Tong Zhang Jean-Robert Petit Chuanjin Li Yeongcheol Han Yuefang Li Jiawen Ren 2021National Science Review2021,8,7:2
18Loss of CREST leads to neuroinflammatory responses and ALS-like motor defects in mice显示文摘Background:Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a late onset neurodegenerative disease with fast progression.ALS has heavy genetic components in which a series of genetic mutations have been identified.In 2013,Mutations of the CREST gene(also known as SS18L1),which functions as a calcium-regulated transcriptional activator,were found in sporadic ALS patients.However,the pathogenic causality and mechanisms of ALS-associated mutations of CREST remain to be determined.Methods:In this study,we constructed CREST knockout and Q394X knock-in mice with CRISPR/Cas9 system.Using biochemical and imaging tools,we illustrated core pathological phenotypes in CREST mutant mice and claimed the possible pathogenic mechanisms.Furthermore,we also observed locomotion defects in CREST mutant mice with behavioural tests.Results:We demonstrate that ALS-related CREST-Q388X mutation exhibits loss-of-function effects.Importantly,the microglial activation was prevalent in CREST haploinsufficiency mice and Q394X mice mimicking the human CREST Q388X mutation.Furthermore,we showed that both CREST haploinsufficiency and Q394X mice displayed deficits in motor coordination.Finally,we identified the critical role of CREST-BRG1 complex in repressing the expression of immune-related cytokines including Ccl2 and Cxcl10 in neurons,via histone deacetylation,providing the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammatory responses within mice lack of CREST.Conclusion:Our findings indicate that elevated inflammatory responses in a subset of ALS may be caused by neuron-derived factors,suggesting potential therapeutic methods through inflammation pathways.Cheng Cheng Kan Yang Xinwei Wu Yuefang Zhang Shifang Shan Aaron Gitler Anirvan Ghosh Zilong Qiu 2019Translational Neurodegeneration2019,8,1:2
19Using SELDI-TOF-MS technology for screening serum markers of hepatic carcinoma in rats显示文摘Objective:To identify potential serum markers of hepatic carcinoma in rats through Surface-Enhanced Laser Desorption Ioniza- tion-Time of Flight-Mass Spectrometry(SELDI-TOF-MS)Technology.Methods:A rat model of hepatic carcinoma was established. 20Principle and numerical demonstration of high power all-fiber coherent beam combination based on self-imaging effect in a square core fiber显示文摘The self-imaging effect in a square core fiber has been investigated, and an integrated all-fiber combiner has been proposed based on a large mode area double clad fiber, which can be employed to construct high power coherent beam combining sources in the all-fiber format. The influence of various parameters on beam quality(M^(2)) and efficiency of the all-fiber coherent beam combiner has been studied numerically, which reveals that the near diffraction-limited laser beam can be achieved.
