2Active control of EIT-like response in a symmetry-broken metasurface with orthogonal electric dipolar resonators显示文摘The active control of electromagnetic response in metamaterial and mutual coupling between resonant building blocks is of fundamental importance in realizing high-quality metamaterials. In this work, we propose and experimentally demonstrate the tunabilities of symmetry-broken metasurfaces made of orthogonal electric dipolar resonators. The metasurface with vertical and horizontal wires is integrated with a PIN diode for active control.It is found that the electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)-like spectrum appears due to the destructive or constructive interferences between the two electric dipolar modes when the structural symmetry broken is introduced to the metasurface. Different from previous works on the EIT-like effect, there is only electric dipole response in our metasuface. The microscopic response of the metasurface is numerically calculated to illustrate the mode coupling between the orthogonal electric dipolar resonators. 3Subwavelength optical localization with toroidal excitations in plasmonic and Mie metamaterials显示文摘Since the performance of electronic circuits is becoming rather limited in face of intensively increasing of amount of information and related operations,alloptical processing offers a promising strategy for future information system.It would benefit a great deal if the all-optical processing could be implemented within the developed electronic chips of nanoscale structures.In that it is highly desirable to break the diffraction limit of light for achieving effective light manipulations with deep subwavelength structures compatible with the state-of-the-art nanofabrication processes.It is of fundamental importance to get subwavelength optical localization,that is,squeeze light wave into subwavelength space for achieving freely manipulating of light fields.This review summarizes the development in realizing subwavelength optical localization by exciting toroidal mode in photonic metamaterials.The toroidal excitations in plasmonic metamaterials and Mie resonant metamaterials,in 3D structures and planar metamaterials,with single or few layers in spectral regime from microwave to optical frequencies are surveyed.Based on the discussion on the configurations of toroidal excitations,the recent development on toroidalrelated optical scattering control actively manipulates the toroidal excitations,and promising applications are further investigated and highlighted.Ruisheng Yang Jing Xu Nian-Hai Shen Fuli Zhang Quanhong Fu Junjie Li Hongqiang Li Yuancheng Fan 2021InfoMat2021,3,5:1
4Identification of A-to-I RNA editing profiles and their clinical relevance in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Adenosine-to-inosine(A-to-I)RNA editing is a widespread posttranscriptional modification that has been shown to play an important role in tumorigenesis.Here,we evaluated a total of 19,316 RNA editing sites in the tissues of 80 lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)patients from our Nanjing Lung Cancer Cohort(NJLCC)and 486 LUAD patients from the TCGA database.The global RNA editing level was significantly increased in tumor tissues and was highly heterogeneous across patients.The high RNA editing level in tumors was attributed to both RNA(ADAR1 expression)and DNA alterations(mutation load).Consensus clustering on RNA editing sites revealed a new molecular subtype(EC3)that was associated with the poorest prognosis of LUAD patients.Importantly,the new classification was independent of classic molecular subtypes based on gene expression or DNA methylation.We further proposed a simplified model including eight RNA editing sites to accurately distinguish the EC3 subtype in our patients.The model was further validated in the TCGA dataset and had an area under the curve(AUC)of the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.93(95%CI:0.91-0.95).In addition,we found that LUAD cell lines with the EC3 subtype were sensitive to four chemotherapy drugs.These findings highlighted the importance of RNA editing events in the tumorigenesis of LUAD and provided insight into the application of RNA editing in the molecular subtyping and clinical treatment of cancer.Cheng Wang Mingtao Huang Congcong Chen Yuancheng Li Na Qin Zijian Ma Jingyi Fan Linnan Gong Hui Zeng Liu Yang Xianfeng Xu Jun Zhou Juncheng Dai Guangfu Jin Zhibin Hu Hongxia Ma Fengwei Tan Hongbing Shen 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,1:1
5Experimental Study on the Effect of State of Charge on Failure Propagation Characteristics within Battery Modules显示文摘To investigate the effect of different states of charge(SOC)on the thermal runaway(TR)propagation behaviors within lithium-ion-batteries based energy storage modules,an experimental setup was developed to conduct failure propagation tests on battery modules at an SOC of 97%,85%,and 50%.The result indicates that an increase in the SOC of batteries can decrease the TR trigger temperature,making batteries trigger TR earlier and reducing the average failure propagation time between two adjacent cells.In addition,the failure propagation tests reveal that at higher SOCs,the TR reaction becomes more violent,the maximal reaction temperature is also much higher,and the damage to the battery module is severe.Compared to the battery module with 97%SOC,the TR trigger time of the battery module with 50%SOC was postponed by approximately 57.8%.Meanwhile,the average failure propagation time got prolonged by approximately 36.0%.Thus,this study can provide references for the thermal safety design of energy-storage battery modules.Kuijie Li Yalun Li Xinyu Rui Yuancheng Cao Liyun Fan Xuning Feng 2023Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2023,9,3:0
6Fano-Resonant Hybrid Metamaterial for Enhanced Nonlinear Tunability and Hysteresis Behavior显示文摘Artificial resonant metamaterial with subwavelength localized filed is promising for advanced nonlinear photonic applications.In this article,we demonstrate enhanced nonlinear frequency-agile response and hysteresis tunability in a Fano-resonant hybrid metamaterial.A ceramic cuboid is electromagnetically coupled with metal cut-wire structure to excite the high-Q Fano-resonant mode in the dielectric/metal hybrid metamaterial.It is found that the significant nonlinear response of the ceramic cuboid can be employed for realization of tunable metamaterials by exciting its magnetic mode,and the trapped mode with an asymmetric Fano-like resonance is beneficial to achieve notable nonlinear modulation on the scattering spectrum.The nonlinear tunability of both the ceramic structure and the ceramic/metal hybrid metamaterial is promising to extend the operation band of metamaterials,providing possibility in practical applications with enhanced light-matter interactions.Yuancheng Fan Xuan He Fuli Zhang Weiqi Cai Chang Li Quanhong Fu Nataliia V.Sydorchuk Sergey L.Prosvirnin 2021Research2021,,1:0
