| 2 | Clinical feature and waveform in infantile nystagmus syndrome in children with FRMD7 gene mutations显示文摘Infant nystagmus sydrome presents as involuntary eye movement disorder and can affect seriously ocular function. We performed a retrospective study of clinical data and FRMD7 genetic test results in 12 cases of infantile nystagmus syndrome to correlate waveform, stereopsis, and visual acuity. The patients(age 6.40±2.67 years) had FRMD7 mutations as follows: missense in eight cases, shear in two cases, frameshift in one case, and non-frameshift in one case. Horizontal jerk waveform was observed in six cases, versus horizontal pendulum in five cases and dual jerk in one case. The uncorrected visual acuity(24 eyes) was 0.21±0.12,compared with a corrected visual acuity(24 eyes) of 0.32±0.14. All patients had simultaneous perception, versus fusion function in 10 cases(83.33%) and stereoscopic vision in seven cases(58.33%) using the synoptophore. Eleven cases(91.67%) detected the stereo fly, compared with five cases(41.67%) for stereoscopic circles and seven cases(58.33%) for stereoscopic animals by Titmus test. Stereoscopic vision using the synoptophore did not correlate with the frequency, amplitude, or intensity of nystagmus or with corrected binocular visual acuity. The infantile nystagmus syndrome with FRMD7 mutations in our cases was caused primarily de novo and missense mutations. Visual acuity and binocular visual function were significant impaired, and the waveform was generally horizontal jerk. | 3 | Computed tomography for guidance in the diagnosis and surgical correction of recurrent pediatric acute dacryocystitis显示文摘Importance:This is the first retrospective study of the effect of computed tomography(CT)in diagnosis and surgical correction of recurrent pediatric acute dacryocystitis(PAD).Objective:To explore the pathogenesis of recurrent PAD and the impact of CT in guidance of surgical planning.Methods:Medical histories,clinical manifestations,and CT results of 10 patients with recurrent PAD were reviewed.Etiologies and treatment effectiveness were recorded for all patients.results:CT revealed that three patients had congenital dacryocystocele with lacrimal sac cyst,enlargement of the nasolacrimal canal,and intranasal cyst of affected sides.After regression of local inflammation,marsupialization was performed.CT showed that four patients had PAD secondary to congenital nasolacrimal canal dysplasia;these patients exhibited normal upper portions of the nasolacrimal canals,but had stenotic or atretic middle and terminal segments.After improvement of local inflammation,endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy was performed.Three patients had PAD secondary to congenital lacrimal sac diverticulum;after contrast injection,CT showed that the cysts at the lacrimal sac area were filled with contrast,and were connected to the normal lacrimal sac.After the topical infection was controlled,transcutaneous dacryocystorhinostomy was performed in combination with excision of the lacrimal sac diverticulum.No recurrence of PAD was detected at 6-month follow-up.Interpretation:Causes of PAD include congenital dacryocystocele,congenital lacrimal sac diverticulum,or congenital nasolacrimal canal dysplasia.Marsupialization with endoscope,endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy,and transcutaneous dacryocystorhinostomy constitute distinct surgeries for PAD treatment.CT provides an important diagnostic function and facilitates selection of specific surgical approaches for recurrent PAD. | Chengyue Zhang Yanhui Cui Qian Wu Li Li | 2019 | Pediatric Investigation2019,3,1: | 3 |
| 4 | Polymer matrix mediated solvation of LiNO3 in carbonate electrolytes for quasi-solid high-voltage lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is one of the most promising anodes for next-generation energy storage systems.However,the Li dendrite formation and unstable solid-electrolyte interface(SEI)have hindered its further application.Lithium nitrate(LiNO3)is extensively used as an effective electrolyte additive in ether-based electrolytes to improve the stability of lithium metal.Nevertheless,it is rarely utilized in carbonate electrolytes due to its low solubility.Here,a novel gel polymer electrolyte(GPE)consisting of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF),poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA),poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)with LiN03 additive is proposed to solve this issue.In this GPE,polyether-based PEO serves as a matrix for dissolving LiNO3 which can be decomposed into a fast Li-ion conductor(Li3N)in conventional carbonate electrolytes to enhance the stability and Li^+conductivity of the SEI film.As a result,dendrite formation is effectively suppressed,and a significantly improved average Coulombic efficiency(CE)of 97.2%in Li-Cu cell is achieved.By using this novel GPE coupled with Li anode and LiNi0.5Mn0.3Co0.2O2(NMC532),excellent capacity retention of 94.1%and high average CE of over 99.2%are obtained after 200 cycles at 0.5 C.This work presents fresh insight into practical modification strategies on high-voltage Li metal batteries. | Zijian Wang Kai Yang Yongli Song Hai Lin Ke Li Yanhui Cui Luyi Yang Feng Pan | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,9: | 3 |
| 5 | The calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II inhibitor KN-93 protects rat cerebral cortical neurons from N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced injury显示文摘In this study, primary cultured cerebral cortical neurons of Sprague-Dawley neonatal rats were treated with 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 μM calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II inhibitor KN-93 after 50 μM N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced injury. Results showed that, compared with N-methyl-D-aspartic acid-induced injury neurons, the activity of cells markedly increased, apoptosis was significantly reduced, leakage of lactate dehydrogenase decreased, and intracellular Ca(2+) concentrations in neurons reduced after KN-93 treatment. The expression of caspase-3, phosphorylated calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II and total calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II protein decreased after KN-93 treatment. And the effect was apparent at a dose of 1.0 μM KN-93. | 7 | Different structural origins for different sized surface pits observed on a-plane GaN film显示文摘A correlation study between the observed surface morphology using high-resolution scanning electron microscopy(HRSEM) and the observed structural imperfections using transmission electron microscopy(TEM) has been conducted for a-plane Ga N. There are three different sized asymmetric surface pits: large pit of 500 nm–2 ?m in side length, medium pit of 50 nm in side length, and small pit with side lengths of less than 5 nm, which originate from incomplete island coalescence, screw dislocation, and partial dislocation(PD), respectively. Both screw dislocation and PD can produce pits on the free surface because they have a perpendicular line tension to the surface, which must remain in balance with the surface tension. The two types of dislocation lead to distinctive pit sizes because the PD has a smaller Burgers vector component along the dislocation line than the pure screw dislocation. A pit that is produced in the island-coalescing process is much larger than those caused by dislocations because island coalescence is a kinetic process that involves large-scale mass transportation, whereas the dislocation mediates the surface in the local area. These three types of surface pits sometimes interact with one another in space. The diffusion zone is composed of two intermediate phases, namely β and γ phase. Thickness of each intermediate phase is examined. The results show that the alternative magnetic field increases the thicknesses of β and γ phase zone and the layer growth of β and γ phase obeys the parabolic rate law. The growth rate of the β and γ phase are increased with the application of the alternative magnetic field. This change is manifested through a change in the frequency factor k0 and not through a change in the activation energy Q.
