| 1 | Satellite lithium-ion battery remaining useful life estimation with an iterative updated RVM fused with the KF algorithm显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries have become the third-generation space batteries and are widely utilized in a series of spacecraft.Remaining Useful Life(RUL) estimation is essential to a spacecraft as the battery is a critical part and determines the lifetime and reliability.The Relevance Vector Machine(RVM) is a data-driven algorithm used to estimate a battery's RUL due to its sparse feature and uncertainty management capability.Especially, some of the regressive cases indicate that the RVM can obtain a better short-term prediction performance rather than long-term prediction.As a nonlinear kernel learning algorithm, the coefficient matrix and relevance vectors are fixed once the RVM training is conducted.Moreover, the RVM can be simply influenced by the noise with the training data.Thus, this work proposes an iterative updated approach to improve the long-term prediction performance for a battery's RUL prediction.Firstly, when a new estimator is output by the RVM, the Kalman filter is applied to optimize this estimator with a physical degradation model.Then, this optimized estimator is added into the training set as an on-line sample, the RVM model is re-trained, and the coefficient matrix and relevance vectors can be dynamically adjusted to make next iterative prediction.Experimental results with a commercial battery test data set and a satellite battery data set both indicate that the proposed method can achieve a better performance for RUL estimation. | Yuchen SONG Datong LIU Yandong HOU Jinxiang YU Yu PENG | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2018,31,1: | 29 |
| 2 | Tracing the first hematopoietic stem cell generation in human embryo by single-cell RNA sequencing显示文摘Tracing the emergence of the first hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs)in human embryos,particularly the scarce and transient precursors thereof,is so far challenging,largely due to the technical limitations and the material rarity.Here,using single-cell RNA sequencing,we constructed the first genome-scale gene expression landscape covering the entire course of endothelial-to-HSC transition during human embryogenesis.The transcriptomically defined HSC-primed hemogenic endothelial cells(HECs)were captured at Carnegie stage(CS)12-14 in an unbiased way,showing an unambiguous feature of arterial endothelial cells(ECs)with the up-regulation of RUNX1,MYB and ANGPTL Importantly,subcategorizing CD34+CD45-ECs into a CD44+population strikingly enriched HECs by over 10-fold.We further mapped the developmental path from arterial ECs via HSC-primed HECs to hematopoietic stem progenitor cells,and revealed a distinct expression pattern of genes that were transiently over-represented upon the hemogenic fate choice of arterial ECs#including EMCN,PROCR and RUNX1T1.We also uncovered another temporally and molecularly distinct intra-embryonic HEC population,which was detected mainly at earlier CS 10 and lacked the arterial feature.Finally,we revealed the cellular components of the putative aortic niche and potential cellular interactions acting on the HSCprimed HECs.The cellular and molecular programs that underlie the generation of the first HSCs from HECs in human embryos,together with the ability to distinguish the HSC-primed HECs from others,will shed light on the strategies for the production of clinically useful HSCs from pluripotent stem cells. | Yang Zeng Jian He Zhijie Bai Zongcheng Li Yandong Gong Chen Liu Yanli Ni Junjie Du Chunyu Ma Lihong Bian Yu Lan Bing Liu | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,11: | 14 |
| 3 | Comparison of Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography and Ultrasound Biomicroscopy for Iris Parameter Measurements in Patients with Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma显示文摘Purpose: To compare the repeatability and consistency of anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) and ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) in measuring iris parameters in patients with primary angle closure glaucoma. Methods: Twenty-two patients (38 eyes) with primary angle closure glaucoma,including 5 eyes with acute angle closure glaucoma,10 fellow eyes of acute angle closure glaucoma, and 23 eyes with chronic angle closure glaucoma, were recruited consecutively in our hospital. All subjects underwent anterior scanning by AS-OCT and UBM. Peripheral iris thickness (PIT) and iris curvature (IC) in the anterior segment image obtained by AS-OCT and UBM were measured twice. The reproducibility of these two scans was evaluated by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). A paired t-test was used to compare the difference between the two scans and the 95% limits of agreement (LoA) were calculated. Results:The ICCs of PIT and IC measured by UBM were 0.892 and 0.936 respectively, while for AS-OCT these values were 0.629 and 0.859, respectively. UBM had a higher reproducibility in both PIT and IC measurements as compared with AS-OCT.Differences in PIT measurement between AS-OCT and UBM(P=0.331).were not statistically significant, the 95% LoA (-0.178~0.156) mm was 36.1~41.2% of the mean. The IC was 0.053 mm smaller when measured by UBM than by AS-OCT (P=0.017), with the 95% LoA (-0.100~0.206) mm, or 36.2~74.6% of the mean.Conclusion:UBM had a higher reproducibility in measuring iris parameters than AS-OCT. The consistency between AS- OCT and UBM in measuring iris parameters was low in primary angle closure glaucoma patients. | 8 | Soil pore identification with the adaptive fuzzy C-means method based on computed tomography images显示文摘The complex geometry and topology of soil is widely recognised as the key driver in many ecological processes. X-ray computed tomography (CT) provides insight into the internal structure of soil pores automatically and accurately. Until recently, there have not been methods to identify soil pore structures. This has restricted the development of soil science, particularly regarding pore geometry and spatial distribution. Through the adoption of the fuzzy clustering theory and the establishment of pore identification rules, a novel pore identification method is described to extract pore structures from CT soil images. The robustness of the adaptive fuzzy C-means method (AFCM), the adaptive threshold method, and Image-Pro Plus tools were compared on soil specimens under different conditions, such as frozen, saturated, and dry situations. The results demonstrate that the AFCM method is suitable for identifying pore clusters, especially tiny pores, under various soil conditions. | 9 | First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L. | 10 | Adult-repopulating lymphoid potential of yolk sac blood vessels is not confined to arterial endothelial cells显示文摘During embryogenesis,hematopoietic stem progenitor cells(HSPCs)are believed to be derived from hemogenic endothelial cells(HECs).Moreover,arterial feature is proposed to be a prerequisite for HECs to generate HSPCs with lymphoid potential.Although the molecular basis of hematopoietic stem cell-competent HECs has been delicately elucidated within the embryo proper,the functional and molecular characteristics of HECs in the extraembryonic yolk sac(YS)remain largely unresolved.In this study,we initially identified six molecularly different endothelial populations in the midgestational YS through integrated analysis of several single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)datasets and validated the arterial vasculature distribution of Gja5+ECs using a Gja5-EGFP reporter mouse model.Further,we explored the hemogenic potential of different EC populations based on their Gja5-EGFP and CD44 expression levels.The hemogenic potential was ubiquitously detected in spatiotemporally different vascular beds on embryonic days(E)8.5–E9.5 and gradually concentrated in CD44-positive ECs from E10.0.Unexpectedly,B-lymphoid potential was detected in the YS ECs as early as E8.5 regardless of their arterial features.Furthermore,the capacity for generating hematopoietic progenitors with in vivo lymphoid potential was found in nonarterial as well as arterial YS ECs on E10.0–E10.5.Importantly,the distinct identities of E10.0–E10.5 HECs between YS and intraembryonic caudal region were revealed by further scRNA-seq analysis.Cumulatively,these findings extend our knowledge regarding the hemogenic potential of ECs from anatomically and molecularly different vascular beds,providing a theoretical basis for better understanding the sources of HSPCs during mammalian development. | Chaojie Wang Yandong Gong Anbang Wei Tao Huang Siyuan Hou Junjie Du Zongcheng Li Junliang Wang Bing Liu Yu Lan | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,12: | 3 |

| 15 | Formation and Movement of Groundwater in the Thick Loess-Palaeosol Sequences of the Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘Permeability and water-bearing space are important hydrological characteristics of the loess strata. In this study a systematic experiment was conducted to measure the magnetic susceptibility, grain size, porosity, and infiltration rate of the loess and palaeosol layers on a loess tableland of the central Chinese Loess Plateau, in order to investigate the differences in hydrological conditions between the loess and palaeosol layers. The magnetic susceptibility of the loess layer was lower than that of the palaeosol layer, but the average quasi-steady infiltration rate was about 0.31 mm min^(-1) higher, the coarse silt and very fine sand contents were about7.1% greater, and the porosity was about 5.7% higher. These differences were mainly due to pedogenesis, which was affected by the Quaternary climate. The pedogenesis differences between the loess and palaeosol layers resulted in hydrological property differences in terms of permeability and water-bearing space. The loess layer had a higher permeability and more water-bearing space than the palaeosol layer, which meant that the loess layer is more likely to form aquifers and the palaeosol layer is more prone to form aquitards.The groundwater in the loess strata had a multilayered characteristic, which depended on the relative impermeability of palaeosol layer and the alternate deposition of loess-palaeosol layers. The hydrological characteristics of the loess strata demonstrated that the Quaternary climate had an important control function on the formation and movement of groundwater. | 19 | Strong phonon localization in PbTe with dislocations and large deviation to Matthiessen’s rule显示文摘Dislocations can greatly enhance the figure of merit of thermoelectric materials by prominently reducing thermal conductivity.However,the evolution of phonon modes with different energies when they propagate through a single dislocation is unknown.Here we perform non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation to study phonon transport in PbTe crystal with dislocations by excluding boundary scattering and strain coupling effect.The frequency-dependent heat flux,phonon mode analysis,and frequency-dependent phonon mean free paths(MFPs)are presented.The thermal conductivity of PbTe with dislocation density on the order of 10^(15)m^(−2) is decreased by 62%.We provide solid evidence of strong localization of phonon modes in dislocation sample.Moreover,by comparing the frequency-dependent phonon MFPs between atomistic modeling and traditional theory,it is found that the conventional theories are inadequate to describe the phonon behavior throughout the full phonon spectrum,and large deviation to the well-known semi-classical Matthiessen’s rule is observed.These results provide insightful guidance for the development of PbTe based thermoelectrics and shed light on new routes for enhancing the performance of existing thermoelectrics by incorporating dislocations. | Yandong Sun Yanguang Zhou Jian Han Wei Liu Cewen Nan Yuanhua Lin Ming Hu Ben Xu | 2019 | npj Computational Materials2019,,1: | 1 |
