1Slope Debris Flows in the Wenchuan Earthquake Area显示文摘Avalanches and landslides,induced by the Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12,2008,resulted in a lot of disaggregated,solid material on slopes that could be readily mobilized as source material for debris flows.Rainstorms triggered numerous slope debris flows with great damage to highways and rivers over the subsequent two years.Slope debris flows(as opposed to channelized debris flows) are defined as phenomena in which high-concentration mixtures of debris and water flow down slopes for short distances to highways and river banks.Based on field investigations and measurements of 19 slope debris flows,their main characteristics and potential mitigation strategies were studied.High rainfall intensity is the main triggering factor.Critical rainfall intensities for simultaneous occurrence of single,several and numerous slope debris flow events were 20 mm/day,30mm/day,and 90 mm/day,respectively.Field investigations also revealed that slope debris flows consist of high concentrations of cobbles,boulders and gravel.They are two-phase debris flows.The liquid phase plays the role of lubrication instead of transporting medium.Solid particles collide with each other and consume a lot of energy.The velocities of slope debris flows are very low,and their transport distances are only several tens of meters.Slope debris flows may be controlled by construction of drainage systems and by reforestation.LI Yanfu WANG Zhaoyin SHI Wenjing WANG Xuzhao 2010Journal of Mountain Science2010,7,3:13
2Design and experimental study of a practical Osculating Inward Cone Waverider Inlet显示文摘A design method based on tip to tail streamline tracing and osculating inward cone methods is discussed for designing the integrated Osculating Inward Cone Waverider Inlet(OICWI). A practical geometrical constrained experimental model of OICWI is designed based on the validated design method. It has a total contraction ratio of 4.61 and inner contraction ratio is 2.0. Wind-tunnel tests have been conducted for the OICWI model at free stream Mach number(Ma_∞) of 4.0, 3.5 and 3.0 respectively. The experimental results show that the OICWI has high flow capture ratio and compression abilities. It can self-start at Ma_∞= 3.5 and 4.0 and its flow capture ratio is 0.73 at Ma_∞= 4.0, and Angle of Attack(AOA) 0°. The research results show that the OICWI has advantages of inward cone waverider and streamline tracing inlet. 3Sediment storage and morphology of the Yalu Tsangpo valley due to uneven uplift of the Himalaya显示文摘The fluvial process of the Yalu Tsangpo River occurs concurrently with the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Therefore,the river exhibits unique features in morphology and sediment deposition.Field investigations were performed from 2009–2011and the depth of the interface between the sediment deposits and bed rock was detected with an electromagnetic imaging system(EH4)at 29 cross sections.Sediment deposits were sampled along the Yalu Tsangpo valley from Xietongmen to the Yalu Tsangpo Canyon.The results show that a huge amount of sediment has been deposited in four wide valley sections because the uplift rate in these sections was lower than that in the downstream gorge sections over the past million years.About 518 billion m3of gravel and sand have been stored in the high mountain river valleys,which has changed the V-shaped mountain river valley into a U-shaped wide river valley in the four sections.In the sections with high uplift rates the river bed is incised and has formed gorges and the Yalu Tsangpo Canyon.WANG ZhaoYin YU Guo An WANG XuZhao Charles S. 5Radical recombination in a hydrocarbon-fueled scramjet nozzle显示文摘To reveal the radical recombination process in the scramjet nozzle flow and study the effects of various factors of the recombination, weighted essentially non-oscillatory(WENO)schemes are applied to solve the decoupled two-dimensional Euler equations with chemical reactions to simulate the hydrocarbon-fueled scramjet nozzle flow. The accuracy of the numerical method is verified with the measurements obtained by a shock tunnel experiment. The overall model length is nearly 0.5 m, with inlet static temperatures ranging from 2000 K to 3000 K, inlet static pressures ranging from 75 k Pa to 175 k Pa, and inlet Mach numbers of 2.0 ± 0.4 are involved.The fraction Damkohler number is defined as functions of static temperature and pressure to analyze the radical recombination progresses. Preliminary results indicate that the energy releasing process depends on different chemical reaction processes and species group contributions. In hydrocarbon-fueled scramjet nozzle flow, reactions with H have the greatest contribution during the chemical equilibrium shift. The contrast and analysis of the simulation results show that the radical recombination processes influenced by inflow conditions and nozzle scales are consistent with Damkohler numbers and potential dissociation energy release. The increase of inlet static temperature improves both of them, thus making the chemical non-equilibrium effects on the nozzle performance more significant. 6The Principle of Introducing Halogen Ions Into β-FeOOH: Controlling Electronic Structure and Electrochemical Performance显示文摘Coordination tuning electronic structure of host materials is a quite effective strategy for activating and improving the intrinsic properties.Herein,halogen anion(X-)-incorporated β-FeOOH(β-FeOOH(X),X=F-,Cl-,and Br-) was investigated with a spontaneous adsorption process,which realized a great improvement of supercapacitor performances by adjusting the coordination geometry.Experiments coupled with theoretical calculations demonstrated that the change of Fe-O bond length and structural distortion of β-FeOOH,which is rooted in halogen ions embedment,led to the relatively narrow band gap.Because of the strong electronegativity of X-,the Fe element in β-FeOOH(X)s presented the unexpected high valence state(3+δ),which is facilitating to adsorb S032-species.Consequently,the designed β-FeOOH(X)s exhibited the good electric conductivity and enhanced the contact between electrode and electrolyte.When used as a negative electrode,the β-FeOOH(F) showed the excellent specific capacity of 391.9 F g-1 at 1 A g-1 current density,almost tenfold improvement compared with initial β-FeOOH,with the superior rate capacity and cyclic stability.This combinational design principle of electronic structure and electrochemical performances provides a promising way to develop advanced electrode materials for supercapacitor.Dongbin Zhang Xuzhao Han Xianggui Kong Fazhi Zhang Xiaodong Lei 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,9:2

8Highly efficient generation of blastocyst-like structures from spliceosomes-repressed mouse totipotent blastomere-like cells显示文摘Mammalian embryogenesis begins with a totipotent zygote.Blastocyst-like structures can be captured by aggregated cells with extended pluripotent properties in a three-dimensional(3D)culture system.However,the efficiency of generating blastoids is low,and it remains unclear whether other reported totipotent-like stem cells retain a similar capacity.In this study,we demonstrated that spliceosomal repression-induced totipotent blastomere-like cells(TBLCs)form blastocyst-like structures within around 80%of all microwells.In addition,we generated blastoids initiating from a single TBLC.TBLC-blastoids express specific markers of constituent cell lineages of a blastocyst and resemble blastocyst in cell-lineage allocation.Moreover,singlecell RNA sequencing revealed that TBLC-blastoids share a similar transcriptional profile to natural embryos,albeit composed of fewer primitive endoderm-like cells.Furthermore,TBLC-blastoids can develop beyond the implantation stage in vitro and induce decidualization in vivo.In summary,our findings provided an alternative cell type to efficiently generate blastoids for the study of early mouse embryogenesis.Pengfei Zhang Xuzhao Zhai Boyan Huang Shu Sun Wen Jing Wang Man Zhang 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,3:1

12Antifouling Potential of Bacteria Isolated from a Marine Biofilm显示文摘Marine microorganisms are a new source of natural antifouling compounds. In this study, two bacterial strains, Kytococcus sedentarius QDG-B506 and Bacillus cereus QDG-B509, were isolated from a marine biofilm and identified. The bacteria fermentation broth could exert inhibitory effects on the growth of Skeletonema costatum and barnacle larvae. A procedure was employed to extract and identify the antifouling compounds. Firstly, a toxicity test was conducted by graduated pH and liquid-liquid extraction to determine the optimal extraction conditions. The best extraction conditions were found to be pH 2 and 100% petroleum ether. The EC50 value of the crude extract of K. sedentarius against the test microalgae was 236.7 ± 14.08 μg mL-1, and that of B. cereus was 290.6 ± 27.11 μg mL-1. Secondly, HLB SPE columns were used to purify the two crude extracts. After purification, the antifouling activities of the two extracts significantly increased: the EC50 of the K. sedentarius extract against the test microalgae was 86.4 ± 3.71 μg mL-1, and that of B. cereus was 92.6 ± 1.47 μg mL-1. These results suggest that the metabolites produced by the two bacterial strains are with high antifouling activities and they should be fatty acid compounds. Lastly, GC-MS was used for the structural elucidation of the compounds. 13Antialgal and Antilarval Activities of Bioactive Compounds Extracted from the Marine Dinoflagellate Amphidinium carterae显示文摘With the global ban on the application of organotin-based marine coatings by the International Maritime Organization, the development of environmentally friendly, low-toxic and nontoxic antifouling compounds for marine industries has become an urgent need. Marine microorganisms have been considered as a potential source of natural antifoulants. In this study, the antifouling potential of marine dinoflagellate Amphidinium carterae, the toxic and red-tide microalgae, was investigated. We performed a series of operations to extract the bioactive substances from Amphidinium carterae and tested their antialgal and antilarval activities. The crude extract of Amphidinium carterae showed significant antialgal activity and the EC50 value against Skeletonema costatum was 55.4 μg m L^(-1). After purification, the isolated bioactive substances(the organic extract C) exhibited much higher antialgal and antilarval activities with EC50 of 12.9 μg m L^(-1) against Skeletonema costatum and LC50 of 15.1 μg m L^(-1) against Amphibalanus amphitrite larvae. Subsequently, IR, Q-TOFMS, and GC-MS were utilized for the structural elucidation of the bioactive compounds, and a series of unsaturated and saturated 16- to 22-carbon fatty acids were detected. 16Long-range Pt-Ni dual sites boost hydrogen evolution through optimizing the adsorption configuration显示文摘Elaborated design of catalytic systems with a specifically tailored site distance to match the intermediates could substantially improve reaction kinetics and boost catalytic activity under unfavorable reaction conditions.Considering the lower energy barriers of water splitting upon the synergy of dual sites,constructing synergistic Pt-M(M:transition metal)dual sites is an effective way to boost Pt with highly catalytic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)performance.An unconventional“Ni(OH)_(2)-coated high-index Pt facets”was constructed to obtain long-range Pt-Ni dual sites,in which Ni composition as a water dissociation synergistic site can protect Pt from electrolyte corrosion and ensure efficient proton donation to Pt sites.The obtained long-range Pt-Ni dual sites present 3.84 mA·cm^(-1) of current density,which is 7.5 times specific activity higher than that of commercial Pt/C towards alkaline HER.The enhanced HER performance is attributed to synergistic catalysis on Pt-Ni dual sites accompanied by unconventional electron coupling.This work illustrates a new strategy to construct the long-range dual sites by unconventional strategy for fundamental electrocatalytic study of alkaline HER.Cong Liu Pengfang Zhang Bing Liu Qian Meng Xuzhao Yang Yakun Li Jingli Han Yao Wang 2024Nano Research2024,17,5:0
17Crystal structure and thermal decomposition kinetics of1-(pyridinium-1-yl)propane-(1-methylpiperidinium)bi[bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide], [PyC_3Pi][NTf_2]_2显示文摘The structure of a room temperature asymmetrical dicationic ionic liquid(ADIL), 1-(pyridinium-1-yl) propane-(1-methylpiperidinium) bi[bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide]([PyC 3Pi][NTf2]2), was studied by the X-ray diffraction method. Meanwhile, thermal analysis of [Py C3Pi][NTf2]2was also studied using non-isothermal thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). The title crystal belongs to the triclinic with space group Pī and unit-cell parameters a = 0.95217(8) nm, b = 1.05129(11) nm, c = 1.70523(14) nm, α = 89.759(8)°, β = 80.657(7)°, γ = 68.007(9)°, and F(000) = 792. Thermal stability and thermal decomposition kinetics of the title compound were also investigated using TGA under the atmosphere of highly pure nitrogen. Heating curves at different rates were correlated with kinetic equations Friedman and ASTM(also called iso-conversion method). The values of average activation E(k J·mol-1) and pre-exponential constant lg A are 149.58 k J·mol-1and 8.83, respectively, which were obtained by the two methods. 1840 Hz light flickering promotes sleep through cortical adenosine signaling显示文摘Flickering light stimulation has emerged as a promising non-invasive neuromodulation strategy to alleviate neuropsychiatric disorders.However,the lack of a neurochemical underpinning has hampered its therapeutic development.Here,we demonstrate that light flickering triggered an immediate and sustained increase(up to 3 h after flickering)in extracellular adenosine levels in the primary visual cortex(V1)and other brain regions,as a function of light frequency and intensity,with maximal effects observed at 40 Hz frequency and 4000 lux.We uncovered cortical(glutamatergic and GABAergic)neurons,rather than astrocytes,as the cellular source,the intracellular adenosine generation from AMPK-associated energy metabolism pathways(but not SAM-transmethylation or salvage purine pathways),and adenosine efflux mediated by equilibrative nucleoside transporter-2(ENT2)as the molecular pathway responsible for extracellular adenosine generation.Importantly,40 Hz(but not 20 and 80 Hz)light flickering for 30 min enhanced non-rapid eye movement(non-REM)and REM sleep for 2–3 h in mice.This somnogenic effect was abolished by ablation of V1(but not superior colliculus)neurons and by genetic deletion of the gene encoding ENT2(but not ENT1),but recaptured by chemogenetic inhibition of V1 neurons and by focal infusion of adenosine into V1 in a dose-dependent manner.Lastly,40 Hz light flickering for 30 min also promoted sleep in children with insomnia by decreasing sleep onset latency,increasing total sleep time,and reducing waking after sleep onset.Collectively,our findings establish the ENT2-mediated adenosine signaling in V1 as the neurochemical basis for 40 Hz flickering-induced sleep and unravel a novel and non-invasive treatment for insomnia,a condition that affects 20%of the world population.Xuzhao Zhou Yan He Tao Xu Zhaofa Wu Wei Guo Xi Xu Yuntao Liu Yi Zhang Huiping Shang Libin Huang Zhimo Yao Zewen Li Lingya Su Zhihui Li Tao Feng Shaomin Zhang Olivia Monteiro Rodrigo A.Cunha Zhi-Li Huang Kang Zhang Yulong Li Xiahong Cai Jia Qu Jiang-Fan Chen 2024Cell Research2024,34,3:0
19Fe-doped Co3O4@C nanoparticles derived from layered double hydroxide used as efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Compared with noble metal catalyst, Co3O4-based electrocatalysts have attracted considerable interesting as low-cost alternatives for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the poor electrocatalytic activity still remains a huge challenge. Herein, we demonstrate a feasible approach through oxidation of CoFe layered double hydroxide (CoFe-LDH) to synthesize Fe-doped Co3O4@C nanopmrticles with size of about 30-50 nm. As OER catalyst, the as-synthesized Fe-doped Co3O4@C nanoparticles exhibited superior OER performance with a small overpotential of 260 mV at the current density of 20 mA cm^-2, a small Tafel slope of 70 mV dec^-1 and long-term durability (there was no obviously OER current density degradation for 100 h) in alkaline solution. 20Analysis on Therapeutic Potential and Action Mechanism of Folium Pyrrosiae Based on Biolabel Pattern显示文摘[Objectives]The therapeutic potential and action mechanism of Folium Pyrrosiae were analyzed based on the biolabel pattern.[Methods]The chemical components of Folium Pyrrosiae were analyzed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS).Ten databases,including Pubchem,CTD,BindingDB,HERB,TCMIP,ETCM,SwissTargetPrediction,SuperPred webserver,TargetNet and SEA,were used in turn to retrieve the targets of related components,and key components were obtained according to the enrichment degree of targets.The obtained targets were imported into the STRING database to obtain PPI information and screen out core targets.The DAVID database was employed to analyze KEGG pathways of core targets and obtain key pathways.A key component-core target-key pathway network of Folium Pyrrosiae was constructed by Cytoscape3.10.1 software.The obtained KEGG pathways were input into the CTD database to predict corresponding diseases,and discussion and analysis were carried out.[Results]Ten key components,30 potential targets and 10 key pathways were screened out,and they participated in many diseases,of which five diseases were mainly analyzed.[Conclusions]Folium Pyrrosiae had the characteristic of multi-component,multi-target and multi-pathway synergistic effect in the treatment of lung cancer,type 2 diabetes,atherosclerosis,liver cancer,prostate cancer and other diseases,and the therapeutic potential and action mechanism of Folium Pyrrosiae were analyzed through the biolabel pattern.This study provides a research basis for further developing new functions of Folium Pyrrosiae.Zhentao LYU Wenyao ZOU Shuai DOU Mingxing WEI Wenya TANG Xuzhao LI Wude YANG 2023Agricultural Biotechnology2023,12,6:0
