1Rice Expression Database(RED):An integrated RNA-Seq-derived gene expression database for rice显示文摘Rice is one of the most important stable food as well as a monocotyledonous model organism for the plant research community.Here,we present RED(Rice Expression Database;http://gffzzd1bc3ab4bbbc4005h5ow0nnkfn5bo6uuw.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn),an integrated database of rice gene expression profiles derived entirely from RNA-Seq data.RED features a comprehensive collection of 284 high-quality RNA-Seq experiments,integrates a large number of gene expression profiles and covers a wide range of rice growth stages as well as various treatments.Based on massive expression profiles,RED provides a list of housekeeping and tissue-specific genes and dynamically constructs co-expression networks for gene(s) of interest.Besides,it provides user-friendly web interfaces for querying,browsing and visualizing expression profiles of concerned genes.Together,as a core resource in BIG Data Center,RED bears great utility for characterizing the function of rice genes and better understanding important biological processes and mechanisms underlying complex agronomic traits in rice.Lin Xia Dong Zou Jian Sang Xingjian Xu Hongyan Yin Mengwei Li Shuangyang Wu Songnian Hu Lili Hao Zhang Zhang 2017Journal of Genetics and Genomics2017,44,5:12
2Hydrodynamic studies on two wiggling hydrofoils in an oblique arrangement显示文摘The propulsive performance of an oblique school of fish is numerically studied using an immersed boundary technique. The effect of the spacing and wiggling phase on the hydrodynamics of the system is investigated. The hydrodynamics of the system is deeply affected by the spacing between each fish in the school. When the horizontal separation is smaller than the length of the fish body,the downstream fish exhibits a larger thrust coefficient and greater propulsive efficiency than the isolated fish. However,the corresponding values for the upstream fish are smaller.The opposite behavior occurs when the horizontal separation increases beyond the length of fish body. 4Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor-transfected bone marrow stromal cells for the treatment of ischemic stroke显示文摘Adult,male,Sprague-Dawley rats were injected with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor-transfected bone marrow stromal cells(GM-CSF-BMSCs) into the ischemic boundary zone at 24 hours after onset of middle cerebral artery occlusion.Results showed reduced infarct volume,decreased number of apoptotic cells,improved neurological functions,increased angiogenic factor expression,and increased vascular density in the ischemic boundary zone in rats that underwent GM-CSF-BMSCs transplantation compared with the BMSCs group.Experimental findings suggested that GM-CSF-BMSCs could serve as a potential therapeutic strategy for ischemic stroke and are superior to BMSCs alone.Xingjian Lin Yingdong Zhang Weiguo Liu Jingde Dong Jie Lu Qing Di Jingping Shi 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,16:1

6Chaperone-mediated Autophagy Regulates Cell Growth by Targeting SMAD3 in Glioma显示文摘Previous studies suggest that the reduction of SMAD3(mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 3)has a great impact on tumor development,but its exact pathological function remains unclear.In this study,we found that the protein level of SMAD3 was greatly reduced in human-grade IV glioblastoma tissues,in which LAMP2A(lysosome-associated membrane protein type 2A)was significantly up-regulated.LAMP2A is a key ratelimiting protein of chaperone-mediated autophagy(CMA),a lysosome pathway of protein degradation that is activated in glioma.We carefully analyzed the amino-acid sequence of SMAD3 and found that it contained a pentapeptide motif biochemically related to KFERQ,which has been proposed to be a targeting sequence for CMA.In vitro,we confirmed that SMAD3 was degraded in either serum-free or KFERQ motif deleted condition,which was regulated by LAMP2A and interacted with HSC70(heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein).Using isolated lysosomes,amino-acid residues 75 and 128 of SMAD3 were found to be of importance for this process,which affected the CMA pathway in which SMAD3 was involved.Similarly,down-regulating SMAD3 or up-regulating LAMP2A in cultured glioma cells enhanced their proliferation and invasion.Taken together,these results suggest that excessive activation of CMA regulates glioma cell growth by promoting the degradation of SMAD3.Therefore,targeting the SMAD3-LAMP2Amediated CMA-lysosome pathway may be a promising approach in anti-cancer therapy.Hanqun Liu Yuxuan Yong Xingjian Li Panghai Ye Kai Tao Guoyou Peng Mingshu Mo Wenyuan Guo Xiang Chen Yangfu Luo Yuwan Lin Jiewen Qiu Ziling Zhang Liuyan Ding Miaomiao Zhou Xinling Yang Lin Lu Qian Yang Pingyi Xu 2022Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,6:0
7Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Normal Hovering Foil with Synthetic Jet Actuation显示文摘The aerodynamic characteristics of a normal hovering foil with Synthetic Jet(SJ)actuation are numerically studied in this work.An elliptic foil with ratio of 4 undergoes the imposed translation and rotation synchronously.A pair of SJs with the same frequency and strength is placed on the upper and lower surfaces of the foil.Thus,the local flow field around the foil would be influenced.At the Reynolds number of 100 and the rotating axis position of half chord,the effects of the inclined angle between the jet direction and the chord line,the phase angle between the SJs and the translation as well as the SJ location on the aerodynamic characteristics are systematically examined.Compared with the oscillating foil without SJ actuation,it is illustrated that the enhancement of mean lift force and hovering efficiency can be obtained by using the SJs with suitable working parameters.Based on the numerical analysis,it is found that the jet flow on the foil surfaces,which changes the local pressure distribution,can benefit the aerodynamic performance of the hovering foil.Jie Wu Lan Jiang Xingjian Lin 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,5:0
8Sorption and desorption of sex hormones in soil-and sediment-water systems:A review显示文摘Sex hormones are a group of potent endocrine disruptors that can be released into agricultural soils and sediment via wastewater discharge and manure fertilization.Sorption represents a critical determinant for the transport potential and risks of sex hormones in the environment.Therefore,this study reviewed the sorption and desorption mechanisms of sex hormones in soil-and sedimentwater systems,and summarized the effects of various factors on sorption and desorption processes.A total of 359 set of sorption data were collected from the literature.Sex hormones were mostly described by the linear model.The sorption magnitudes(logKoc)of estrogens,androgens,and progestins were in the range of 2.77–3.90,2.55–4.18,and 2.61–4.39,respectively.The average logKoc values of the sex hormones were significantly correlated with their logKow values(R^(2)=0.13,p<0.05),while the R^(2) values were much lower than those when fewer sex hormones were included for analysis.In addition,the Kd values of most sex hormones were significantly correlated with the OC%of soils and sediment(R^(2)=0.16–0.99,p<0.05),but were insignificantly correlated with the particle size distribution and surface area.These results indicated that hydrophobic partitioning interaction and other specific interactions are responsible for sex hormone uptake in soil-and sediment-water systems.The sorption of sex hormones in soil-and sediment-water systems can also be affected by other environmental variables,including pH,temperature,and ionic strength.Future studies should focus on the coupled leaching-sorption processes in manure-water-soil systems under field-scale conditions.Xiong Dai Xingjian Yang Bihai Xie Jiajia Jiao Xiuping Jiang Chengyu Chen Zhen Zhang Zhili He Hang Lin Weisong Chen Yongtao Li 2022Soil Ecology Letters2022,4,1:0
