| 2 | Evaluation of a granulated formula for the nerve root type and vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis:a multicenter,single-blind,randomized,controlled,phase Ⅲ clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cervical spondylosis formula granules in reducing the symptoms of patients with the nerve root type and the vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.METHODS:This was a multicenter, single-blind,randomized, controlled trial.From April 2002 to November 2003, 499 patients were randomly assigned to either the treatment or the control group.The treatment group was orally administered granules prepared with a formula for cervical spondylosis, while the control group was given Jingfukang granules.The treatment course was 1 month for both groups.RESULTS:In patients with the nerve root type of cervical spondylosis, the total effect rate in the treatment group(87.21%) was significantly higher than that in the control group(80.70%, P < 0.01).After the treatment period in both groups, the treatment group had a significantly greater rate of resolution of pain, numbness of the upper limbs, muscle strength of the upper limbs, and fatigue than the control group(all P < 0.05).In patients with the vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis, the total effect rate in the treatment group(82.07%) was similar to that in the control group(71.21%, P >0.05).After the treatment period in both groups,the treatment group had a significantly greater rate of resolution of weakness of the waist and knees than the control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:The cervical spondylosis formula granules significantly improve numbness, muscle strength, and fatigue, and reduce pain in patients with the nerve root type of cervical spondylosis,and improve the weakness of the waist and knees in patients with the vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis. | Luo Xiaodong Wang Peng Li Zhe Liang De Huang Feng Liu Jinwen Chen Xinyu Hu Guoheng Fang Suting Zhang Huajian | 2017 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2: | 28 |

| 4 | Numerical investigation on flow and convective heat transfer of aviation kerosene at supercritical conditions显示文摘In this paper,characteristics of flow and convective heat transfer of China RP-3 kerosene in straight circular pipe were numerically studied.Navier-Stokes equations were solved using RNG k-turbulence model with low Reynolds number correction.The thermophysical and transport properties of the China RP-3 kerosene were calculated with a 10-species surrogate and the extended corresponding state method(ECS) combined with Benedict-Webb-Rubin equation.The independence of grids was first studied and the numerical results were then compared with experimental data for validation.Under flow conditions given in the paper,the results show that deterioration of convective heat transfer occurs when the wall temperature is slightly higher than the pseudo-critical temperature of kerosene for cases with wall heat flux of 1.2 and 0.8 MW/m 2.The degree of the heat transfer deterioration is weakened as the heat flux decreases.The deterioration,however,does not happen when the heat flux on the pipe wall is reduced to 0.5 MW/m 2.Based on the analysis of the near-wall turbulent properties,it is found that the heat transfer deterioration and then the enhancement are attributed partly to the change in the turbulent kinetic energy in the vicinity of pipe wall.The conventional heat transfer relations such as Sieder-Tate and Gnielinski formulas can be used for the estimation of kerosene heat convection under subcritical conditions,but they are not capable of predicting the phenomenon of heat transfer deterioration.The modified Bae-Kim formula can describe the heat transfer deterioration.In addition,the frictional drag would increase dramatically when the fuel transforms to the supercritical state. | DANG GuoXin ZHONG FengQuan CHEN LiHong CHANG XinYu | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,2: | 12 |

| 6 | Rationalizing phonon dispersion for lattice thermal conductivity of solids显示文摘Lattice thermal conductivity(κL) is one of the most fundamental properties of solids. The acoustic–elastic-wave assumption, proposed by Debye(Debye P. Ann Phys 1912; 344: 789–839), has led to linear phonon dispersion being the most common approximation for understanding phonon transport over the past century. Such an assumption does not take into account the effect of a periodic boundary condition on the phonon dispersion, originating from the nature of periodicity on atomic arrangements. Driven by modern demands on the thermal functionality of materials, with κLranging from ultra-low to ultra-high,any deviation from the Debye approximation in real materials becomes more and more significant. This work takes into account the periodic boundary condition, and therefore rationalizes the phonon dispersion to be more realistic. This significantly improves the precision for quickly predicting κLwithout any fitting parameters, as demonstrated in hundreds of materials, and offers a theoretical basis rationalizing κLto be lower than the minimum currently accepted based on the Debye dispersion. The development of axial length is an important factor that affects the prognosis of these children.However,when compared with the eyes of normal children,the mechanism of growth of the axial length is so complicated that the reported findings differ significantly in terms of the measuring apparatus,assessment methods,and statistical outcome,making the rule of axial length development still unclear. In this paper, we first review the process of axial length development in normal healthy children and compare different hypotheses about certain factors that could affect the development of axial length. The results of some current research about the characteristics of axial length development in congenital cataract children are then reviewed. | 9 | A heavy mineral viewpoint on sediment provenance and environment in the Qiongdongnan Basin显示文摘Based on heavy mineral data in core samples from eleven drillings, supplemented by paleontological, element geochemical and seismic data, the evolution of sediment provenance and environment in the Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB) was analysed. The results show that the basement in the QDNB was predominantly composed of terrigenous sediments. Since the Oligocene the QDNB has gradually undergone transgressions and evolution processes in sedimentary environment from terrestrial-marine transitional to littoral-neritic, neritic, and bathyal roughly. The water depth showed a gradually increasing trend and was generally greater in the southern region than that in the northern region in the same time. With changes in sedimentary environment, provenances of the strata(from the Yacheng Formation to the Yinggehai Formation) showed principal characteristics of multisources, evolving from autochthonous source, short source to distant source step by step. During the Early Oligocene, the sediments were mainly proximal basaltic pyroclastic source and adjacent terrigenous clastic source, afterwards were becoming distant terrigenous clastic sources, including Hainan Island on the north,Yongle Uplift on the south, Shenhu Uplift on the northeast, the Red River System on the northwest and Indochina Peninsula on the southwest, or even a wider region. The Hainan Island provenance began to develop during the Early Oligocene and has become a main provenance in the QDNB since the Middle Miocene. The provenances from Yongle Uplift and Shenhu Uplift most developed from the Late Oligocene to the Early Miocene and gradually subsided during the Middle Miocene. During the Late Miocene, as a main source of sediments filled in the central canyon, the Red River System provenance added to the QDNB massively, whose impact terminated at the end of the Pliocene. The western Yinggehai Basin(YGHB) provenance derived from Indochina Peninsula had developed from the Pliocene on to the Pleistocene. | 10 | Optimization and test for structural parameters of UAV spraying rotary cup atomizer显示文摘Small unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)pesticide application technology is developing rapidly in China.However,the spray efficiency of UAV sprayer is not stable,one important reason is that the lack of specialized aviation nozzle.Rotary cup atomizer is not easily to be blocked and has broad application foreground in UAV spray.In order to obtain good spraying quality and narrow droplet spectrum aviation spraying centrifugal nozzle,the impacts of rotary cup atomizer structural parameters on atomization property were studied.In this research,a centrifugal atomization test device was designed,on which a frequency converter was used to adjust the rotary speed,and a return valve was used to stabilize the flow rate and pressure of spray liquid.The droplet volume medium diameter(VMD)and droplet spectrum relative width(SRW)were tested by using laser particle analyzer and particle analysis system.The analysis results of variance and quadratic regression orthogonal test were used to optimize the structural parameters of rotary cup atomizer.The influences of rotary cup atomizer structural parameters on atomization property,such as groove shape,diameter,teeth number,cone angle and height were evaluated and analyzed by conducting single-factor test.The results showed that:the best optimized rotary groove shape was square,diameter and teeth number had significant effects on droplet VMD and SRW,while cone angle had no effect on the droplet VMD and SRW,height affected droplet VMDbut did not affect droplet SRW.Therefore,diameter and teeth number were selected as the variables of quadratic regression orthogonal test,droplet VMD and SRW regression model was established by using response surface analysis method.The optimized structural parameters respectively were:groove shape square,cone angle 60°,height 20 mm,diameter 61.5 mm and teeth number 149.Droplet VMD and SRW simulation value respectively were 200μm and 0.562.The differences between simulation value and test value were 0.68%and 9.90%respectively,indicating that the regression model is accurate.The research result can provide a reference for further optimizing the structure parameters of rotary cup atomizer to meet the requirement of UAV spraying. | Zhou Qingqing Xue Xinyu Qin Weicai Cai Chen Zhou Liangfu | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,3: | 10 |
| 11 | Microbial aerosol chemistry characteristics in highly polluted air显示文摘Aerosol chemistry is often studied without considering microbial involvements. Here, we investigated time-and size-resolved bacterial aerosol dynamics in air. Under high particulate matter(PM) polluted episodes, bacterial aerosols exhibited a viability of up to 50%–70% in the 0.56–1 μm size range, at which elevated levels of SO42-, NO3- and NH4+ were concurrently observed.Engineered or acclimated for both industrial use, bacteria such as Psychrobacter spp., Massilia spp., Acinetobacter lwoffii,Exiguobacteriumaurantiacum and Bacillusmegaterium were shown to have experienced massive abundance shifts in polluted air on early mornings and late afternoons, on which rapid new particle formation events were widely reported. Here, Psychrobacter spp. were shown to account for >96% abundance at a corresponding PM2.5 level of 208 μg/m3. These observed bacterial aerosol changes corresponded to the PM2.5 mass peak shift from 3.2–5.6 μm to the high viability size range of 0.56–1 μm. Additionally,elevated levels of soluble Na, Ca, Mg, K, Al, Fe and P elements, required for bacterial growth, were observed to co-occur with those significant bacterial aerosol structure shifts in the air. For particular time-resolved PM2.5 pollution episodes, Acinetobacter,Psychrobacter and Massilia were shown to alternate in dominating the time-resolved aerosol community structures. The results from a HYSPLIT trajectory model simulation suggested that air mass transport played a minor role in affecting the observed bacterial aerosol structure dynamics. | 12 | Petrogenesis and Ore Genesis of the Late Yanshanian Granites and Associated Porphyry-Skarn W-Mo Deposits from the Yunkai Area of South China: Evidence from the Zircon U-Pb Ages, Hf Isotopes and Sulfide S-Fe Isotopes显示文摘There are a wide range of magmatism and mineralization in the Yunkai area of South China during the Late Yanshanian Period, including the newly discovered Michang, Youmapo, Sanchachong and Songwang porphyry-skarn W-Mo deposits. In this study, we obtained zircon U-Pb ages of the ore-bearing biotite granites and their mafic enclaves from 88± 1 to 110± 1 Ma. Zircons from the granites show Hf isotopic compositions with negative ?Hf(t) values of-5.9 to-0.6 and calculated Hf model ages(TDM2) of 1.5–1.2 Ga; indicating that the Middle Proterozoic crustal materials may have provided an important source for the magmatic rocks in this district during the Late Yanshanian Period, whereas zircons from the mafic enclaves show positive ?Hf(t) values of 1.3 to 10.1 with younger Hf model ages(TDM2) of 0.5–1.1 Ga, suggesting a mantle component may have involved in the granitic magma generation. Sulfur isotope study of the sulfide minerals from the W-Mo deposits show a narrow δ34 S distribution with most data ranging from-4.2‰ to 5.2‰. In addition, this study reports the first Fe isotopic compositions of pyrite in the W-Mo deposits, which show a uniform distribution range with the values near zero(δ56 Fe=0.16‰–0.58‰, average 0.35‰; δ57 Fe=0.02‰–0.54‰, average 0.48‰). These data indicate that the ore-forming materials may come from the deep-sourced granitic magma, and the mineralizations show a close relationship with the granitic magmatism during the Late Yanshanian Period. | 13 | Expanded endoscopic therapy criteria should be cautiously used in intramucosal gastric cancer显示文摘Objective: Accurate estimation of lymph node metastasis(LNM) in intramucosal gastric cancer is essential to select less invasive treatment options and even avoid surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate combined clinicopathological features to predict the presence of LNM.Methods: A retrospective review of data from 386 intramucosal gastric cancer patients who underwent gastrectomy with extended lymphadenectomy from 2003 to 2010 was conducted. The mutual relation between clinicopathological characteristics and LNM was analyzed.Results: LNM was detected in 40(10.4%) of the 386 patients. Histological type and vascular or lymphatic invasion presence showed a positive correlation with LNM occurrence by univariate analysis. Multivariate analysis revealed that histological type was the only factor associated with LNM. Combined clinicopathologic characteristics would be more predictable for LNM. We found no LNM when we used combined clinicopathological characteristics conforming to Japanese absolute indications for endoscopic therapy. The LNM rate was as high as 8.7% when Japanese expanded criteria were used. Univariate analysis in cancer conformity to expand endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) indication also revealed that the undifferential type was the only significant factor for LNM.Conclusions: It was possible to predict intramucosal gastric cancer cases without LNM using combined clinicopathological characteristic analysis. There are two categories of technologies accounting for data processing: batching big data and streaming processing, which have not been integrated well. Thus,we propose an innovative incremental processing technology named after Stream Cube to process both big data and stream data. Also, we implement a real-time intelligent data processing system, which is based on real-time acquisition, real-time processing, real-time analysis, and real-time decision-making. The real-time intelligent data processing technology system is equipped with a batching big data platform, data analysis tools, and machine learning models. | 16 | Medical expenditures for colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment: A 10-year high-level-hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey in China, 2002-2011显示文摘Objective: Colorectal cancer(CRC) causes a substantial burden of disease in China and the evidence of economic burden triggered is fundamental for priority setting. The aim of this survey was to quantify medical expenditures and the time trends for CRC diagnosis and treatment in China.Methods: From 2012 to 2014, a hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey was conducted in 13 provinces across China. For each eligible CRC patient diagnosed from 2002 to 2011, clinical information and expenditure data were extracted using a uniform questionnaire. All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2011 values.Results: Of the 14,536 CRC patients included, the average age at diagnosis was 58.2 years and 15.8% were stageI cases. The average medical expenditure per patient was estimated at 37,902 CNY [95 % confidence interval(95%CI): 37,282-38,522], and the annual average increase rate was 9.2% from 2002 to 2011(P for trend <0.001), with a cumulative increase of 2.4 times(from 23,275 CNY to 56,010 CNY). The expenditure per patient in stages Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 31,698 CNY, 37,067 CNY, 38,918 CNY and 42,614 CNY, respectively(P<0.001). Expenditure significantly differed within various subgroups. Expenses for drugs contributed the largest proportion(52.6%).Conclusions: These conservative estimates illustrated that medical expenditures for CRC diagnosis and treatment in tertiary hospitals in China were substantial and increased rapidly over the 10 years, with drugs continually being the main expense by 2011. Relatively, medical expenditures are lower for CRC in the earlier stages. | 17 | Geochemical characteristics and their significances of rare-earth elements in deep-water well core at the Lingnan Low Uplift Area of the Qiongdongnan Basin显示文摘A geochemical analysis of rare-earth elements(REEs) in 97 samples collected from the core of deep-water Well LS-A located at the Lingnan Low Uplift Area of the Qiongdongnan Basin is conducted, with the purpose of revealing the changes of sedimentary source and environment in the study region since Oligocene and evaluating the response of geochemical characteristics of REEs to the tectonic evolution. In the core samples, both ∑REE and ∑LREE(LREE is short for light-group REEs) fluctuate in a relatively wide range, while ∑HREE(HREE is short for heavy-group REEs) maintains a relatively stable level. With the stratigraphic chronology becoming newer, both ∑REE and ∑LREE show a gradually rising trend overall. The ∑REE of the core is relatively high from the bottom of Yacheng Formation(at a well depth of 4 207 m) to the top of Ledong Formation, and the REEs show partitioning characteristics of the enrichment of LREE, the stable content of HREE, and the negative anomaly of Eu to varying degrees. Overall the geochemical characteristics of REEs are relatively approximate to those of China's neritic sediments and loess, with significant 'continental orientation'. The ∑REE of the core is relatively low in the lower part of Yacheng Formation(at a well depth of 4 207–4 330 m), as shown by the REEs partitioning characteristics of the depletion of LREE, the relative enrichment of HREE, and the positive anomaly of Eu; the geochemical characteristics of REEs are approximate to those of oceanic crust and basalt overall, indicating that the provenance is primarily composed of volcanic eruption matters. As shown by the analyses based on sequence stratigraphy and mineralogy, the provenance in study region in the early Oligocene mainly resulted from the volcanic materials of the peripheral uplift areas; the continental margin materials from the north contributed only insignificantly; the provenance developed to a certain extent in the late Oligocene. Since the Miocene, the provenance has ceaselessly expanded from proximal to distal realm, embodying a characteristic of multi-source sedimentation. In the core strata with 31.5, 28.4, 25.5, 23, and 16 Ma from today, the geochemical parameters of REEs and Th/Sc ratio have significant saltation, embodying the tectonic movement events in the evolution of the Qiongdongnan Basin. | 20 | Multiple action sites of ultrasound on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus显示文摘Ultrasound,is thought to a potential non-thermal sterilization technology in food industry.However,the exact mechanisms underlying microbial inactivation by ultrasound still remain obscure.In this study,the action modes of ultrasound on both Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms were estimated.From colony results,ultrasound acted as an irreversible effect on both Eshcerichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus without sublethal injury.The result in this study also showed that a proportion of bacteria subpopulation suffered from serious damage of intracellular components(e.g.DNA and enzymes)but with intact cell envelopes.We speculated that the inactivated effects of ultrasound on microbes might more than simply completed disruption of cell exteriors.Those microbial cells who had not enter the valid area of ultrasonic cavitation might be injected with free radicals produced by ultrasound and experienced interior injury with intact exterior structure,and others who were in close proximity to the ultrasonic wave field would be immediately and completely disrupted into debris by high power mechanic forces.These findings here try to provide extension for the inactivation mechanisms of ultrasound on microorganisms. | Xinyu Liao Jiao Li Yuanjie Suo Shiguo Chen Xingqian Ye Donghong Liu Tian Ding | 2018 | Food Science and Human Wellness2018,7,1: | 6 |
