| 2 | Characterization and evaluation of rice blast resistance of Chinese indica hybrid rice parental lines显示文摘The development of resistant varieties and hybrid combinations has been the most effective and economical strategy to control blast disease caused by Magnaporthe oryzae.However, the distribution of major R genes and blast resistance characterization in hybrid rice parents has not been well investigated, resulting in their limited use in hybrid rice blast-resistance breeding. In the present study, 88 elite indica hybrid rice parental lines were evaluated with 30 isolates of M. oryzae collected from the main planting area of indica hybrid rice in China and were characterized for the presence of 11 major resistance genes using molecular markers. The pathogenicity assays showed that four types of hybrid rice parent line showed some resistance to M. oryzae. However, the proportions of highly resistant lines and the mean resistance frequency(RF) varied among the four types, with resistance in decreasing order shown by three-line restorer lines, three-line maintainer lines, two-line sterile lines, and two-line restorer lines. All 88 hybrid rice parental lines carried more than one R gene, but none carried the R genes Pi1 and Pi2. Although Pid3 and Pi9 were present only in three-line restorer lines and Pigm only in three-line maintainer lines, the remaining six R genes(Pib, Pid2, Pi5, Pia, Pi54, and Pita) were present in the four types of hybrid rice parent with significantly different distribution frequencies. The correlation between R genes and resistance reactions was investigated. | 6 | Huge thick conglomerate movement induced by full thick longwall mining huge thick coal seam显示文摘A discrete elemental method was used to study the thickness of conglomerate layer in a full thick seam mining activities under the influence of the law, pointing out the thickness of the conglomerate at different seam mining, and during the destruction and instability of existing state of laws. At 21141 thick seam mining, the face toward the direction of separation between the thick layer of conglomerate rock and the next bit after reaching its maximum capacity due to pull from the bottom of the plastic zone, formed a stratified and hierarchical down collapse. The shape of caving area is a ''triangular block'', the length of the plastic zone and face advancement from the linear fit between the height of the plastic zone and the advancing face is a quadratic function of distance, while the top layer of thick gravel layer is the overall bending subsidence trend. Tilting the direction of the face, a thick gob of collapsed conglomerate layer is formed in the coal gob entity on both sides of the thick conglomerate at the top of the overall fracture morphology performance, thus forming a mutual extrusion of articulated block structure. The instability, separation and balance of the thick conglomerate layer in the hinged block stope stress leads to abnormal occurrence of rock burst induced by face as the major factor in the accident. | 7 | Modelling of a Human Driver’s Interaction with Vehicle Automated Steering Using Cooperative Game Theory显示文摘The introduction of automated driving systems raised questions about how the human driver interacts with the automated system. Non-cooperative game theory is increasingly used for modelling and understanding such interaction, while its counterpart, cooperative game theory is rarely discussed for similar applications despite it may be potentially more suitable. This paper describes the modelling of a human driver’s steering interaction with an automated steering system using cooperative game theory. The distributed Model Predictive Control approach is adopted to derive the driver’s and the automated steering system’s strategies in a Pareto equilibrium sense, namely their cooperative Pareto steering strategies. Two separate numerical studies are carried out to study the influence of strategy parameters, and the influence of strategy types on the driver’s and the automated system’s steering performance. It is found that when a driver interacts with an automated steering system using a cooperative Pareto steering strategy, the driver can improve his/her performance in following a target path through increasing his/her effort in pursuing his/her own interest under the driver-automation cooperative control goal. It is also found that a driver’s adoption of cooperative Pareto steering strategy leads to a reinforcement in the driver’s steering angle control, compared to the driver’s adoption of non-cooperative Nash strategy. | 9 | Identification of QTLs and Validation of qCd-2 Associated with Grain Cadmium Concentrations in Rice显示文摘Cadmium(Cd) is one of heavy metals harmful to human health. As rice is the main staple food in Asia and Cd is easily contaminated in rice, the molecular regulation of Cd accumulation should be explored. In this study, a recombinant inbred population derived from Xiang 743/Katy was grown in Cd-polluted fields and used to map the quantitative trait loci(QTLs) for Cd accumulation in rice grains. We identified seven QTLs distributed on chromosomes 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 10. These QTLs displayed phenotypic variances of 58.50% and 40.59% in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Two QTLs, qCd-2 and qCd-7, were identified in both the two years. qCd-2 was detected on the interval of RM250–RM207 on chromosome 2, with an LOD of 2.51 and a phenotypic contribution of 13.75% in 2014, and an LOD of 3.35 and a phenotypic contribution of 14.16% in 2015. qCd-7 co-localized with the cloned qCdT7 on chromosome 7 and may represent the correct candidate. The other five QTLs were detected only in one year. To further confirm the effects of qCd-2, a residual heterozygous line designated as RHL945, with a heterozygous interval of RM263–RM207 on chromosome 2, was selected from the recombinant inbred population and used to develop an F2 population consisting of 155 individual plants. By incorporating further simple sequence repeat markers into the segmental linkage map of the target region, qCd-2 was delimited in the interval of RM5404–RM3774, with an LOD value of 4.38 and a phenotypic contribution of 15.52%. | 10 | Characterization of Pyrolytic Lignin Extracted from Bio-oil显示文摘Bio-oil is a new liquid fuel produced by fast pyrolysis,which is a promising technology to convert bio-mass into liquid. Pyrolytic lignin extracted from bio-oil,a fine powder,contributes to the instability of bio-oil. The paper presents the structural features of three kinds of pyrolytic lignin extracted from bio-oil with different methods(WIF,HMM,and LMM) . The pyrolytic lignin samples are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) . FTIR data indicate that the three pyrolytic lignin samples have similar functional groups,while the absorption intensity is different,and show characteristic vibra-tions of typical lignocellulosic material groups O H(3340-3380 cm-1) ,C H(2912-2929 cm-1) and C O(1652-1725 cm-1) . Comparison in the region(3340-3380 cm-1) indicates that WIF has more O H stretch groups than HMM and LMM. The carbon spectra are fitted to four peaks:C1,C C or C H,BE 283.5 eV;C2,C OR or C OH,BE 284.5-285.8 eV;C3,C O or HO C OR,BE 286.10-287.10 eV;C4,O C O,BE 287.5-287.7 eV. The absence of C1,C C or C H indicates the dominant polymerization structure of aro-matic carbon in pyrolytic lignin samples. For HMM and WIF,C2a and C2b can not be separated,so there is no free hydroxyl group in the samples. The oxygen peaks are also fitted to four peaks:O1,OH,BE = 530.3 eV;O2,RC O,BE 531.45-531.72 eV;O3,O C O,BE = 532.73-533.74 eV;O4,H2O,BE 535 eV. It was proved that structures with certain features tend to have closely clustered modes and the corresponding mode shapes highly correlated. With this understanding, the closed-form expressions for controllability and observability Grammians were adopted to analyze the impacts of actuator/sensor placement on the controllability/observability of highly correlated close modes. On this basis, the problem of actuator/sensor placement, when the optimization criterion is based on modal controllability/observability, was simplified. Moreover, the dimension of the control/measurement vector in independent modal space control for highly correlated close modes was proved to have the potential to be reduced, therefore fewer actuators and sensors were required in this dimension-reduced control strategy. | 12 | Prognostic significance of preoperative Naples prognostic score on short-and long-term outcomes after pancreatoduodenectomy for ampullary carcinoma显示文摘Background:The Naples prognostic score(NPS)is an effective and objective tool to assess the immune-nutritional status of patients with malignant tumors.The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical significance of preoperative NPS on short-and long-term outcomes after pancreatoduodenectomy(PD)for ampullary carcinoma.Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 404 consecutive patients with ampullary carcinoma who underwent PD between January 2012 and June 2018.Preoperative NPS was calculated from serum albumin and total cholesterol concentrations,and the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and lymphocyte-monocyte ratio(LMR).Patients were then divided into three groups according to their NPS.Clinicopathological variables,postoperative outcomes,and survival data were compared between the three groups.Univariate and multivariate Cox analysis of overall survival(OS)and recurrence-free survival(RFS)were also conducted,and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were created to evaluate the discriminatory ability of the prognostic scoring systems.Results:Patients with higher NPS had worse prognosis,and significant OS difference(group 0 vs.1,P=0.02;group 1 vs.2,P<0.001;group 0 vs.2,P<0.001)and RFS difference(group 0 vs.1,P=0.088;group 1 vs.2,P<0.001;group 0 vs.2,P<0.001).Multivariate analysis revealed that NPS was an independent significant predictor of OS(grade 2 vs.grade 1 or 0,hazard ratio:3.067;P<0.001)and RFS(grade 2 vs.grade 1 or 0,hazard ratio:2.732;P<0.001).The time-dependent receiver operating curve analysis showed that NPS had better prognostic performance for OS and RFS than other prognostic models.Additionally,significant differences in the incidence of postoperative morbidity were observed between the three groups,and the NPS was an independent risk factor of overall postoperative complications(grade 2 vs.grade 1 or 0,odds ratio:1.692;P=0.02).Conclusions:The NPS was an independent predictor of overall-and RFS in patients undergoing PD for ampullary carcinoma,and was independently associated with the incidence of postoperative complications. | Jikuan Jin Hebin Wang Feng Peng Xiaoxiang Wang Min Wang Feng Zhu Guangbing Xiong Renyi Qin | 2021 | Hepatobiliary Surgery and Nutrition2021,10,6: | 5 |

| 14 | Microwave ablation of primary breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression in model mice via activation of natural killer cells显示文摘Surgery is essential for controlling the symptoms and complications of stage IV breast cancer.However,locoregional treatment of primary tumors often results in distant progression,including lung metastasis,the most common type of visceral metastasis.As a minimally invasive thermal therapy,microwave ablation(MWA)has been attempted in the treatment of breast cancer,but the innate immune response after MWA has not yet been reported.Using two murine models of stage IV breast cancer,we found that MWA of primary breast cancer inhibited the progression of lung metastasis and improved survival.NK cells were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and exhibited enhanced cytotoxic functions,and the cytotoxic pathways of NK cells were activated.Depletion experiments showed that NK cells but not CD4+or CD8+T cells played a pivotal role in prolonging survival.Then,we found that compared with surgery or control treatment,MWA of the primary tumor induced completely different NK-cell-related cytokine profiles.Macrophages were activated after MWA of the primary tumor and produced IL-15 that activated NK cells to inhibit the progression of metastasis.In addition,MWA of human breast cancer stimulated an autologous NK-cell response.These results demonstrate that MWA of the primary tumor in metastatic breast cancer inhibits metastatic progression via the macrophage/IL-15/NK-cell axis.MWA of the primary tumor may be a promising treatment strategy for de novo stage IV breast cancer,although further substantiation is essential for clinical testing. | Muxin Yu Hong Pan Nan Che Li Li Cong Wang Yue Wang Ge Ma Mengjia Qian Jiawei Liu Mingjie Zheng Hui Xie Lijun Ling Yi Zhao Xiaoxiang Guan Qiang Ding Wenbin Zhou Shui Wang | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9: | 5 |

| 17 | Development of an invasive brain machine interface with a monkey model显示文摘Brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) translate neural activities of the brain into specific instructions that can be carried out by external devices. BMIs have the potential to restore or augment motor functions of paralyzed patients suffering from spinal cord damage. The neural activities have been used to predict the 2D or 3D movement trajectory of monkey's arm or hand in many studies. However, there are few studies on decoding the wrist movement from neural activities in center-out paradigm. The present study developed an invasive BMI system with a monkey model using a 10×10-microelectrode array in the primary motor cortex. The monkey was trained to perform a two-dimensional forelimb wrist movement paradigm where neural activities and movement signals were simultaneous recorded. Results showed that neuronal firing rates highly correlated with forelimb wrist movement; > 70% (105/149) neurons exhibited specific firing changes during movement and > 36% (54/149) neurons were used to discriminate directional pairs. The neuronal firing rates were also used to predict the wrist moving directions and continuous trajectories of the forelimb wrist. The four directions could be classified with 96% accuracy using a support vector machine, and the correlation coefficients of trajectory prediction using a general regression neural network were above 0.8 for both horizontal and vertical directions. | 18 | Decadal characteristics of the floating Ulva and Sargassum in the Subei Shoal,Yellow Sea显示文摘The data of field surveys during 2009 to 2018 was analyzed to understand the seasonality and inter-annual variability of the floating Ulva and Sargassum in the Subei Shoal,the southwestern Yellow Sea of China on decadal scale.The floating Ulva biomass was consistently originated from the central region of the Subei Shoal in middle to late April,increased rapidly,drifted and extended into the offshore water in May and June.The average floating Ulva biomass in the shoal generally increased over the years with evident inter-annual fluctuations.In contrast,pelagic Sargassum was accumulated in the Subei Shoal and formed the spring bloom only in 2013,2017 and 2018,and the biomass was higher than the co-occurring Ulva during the survey in these three years.Compared to the raft-origin floating Ulva,genesis and development of the pelagic Sargassum was distinct.Based on the current research,the Sargassum biomass was exotic and often initiated in the offshore water in March,and intruded into the shoal in April and May.The analysis on the environmental parameters was inconclusive since multiple anthropogenic and non-indigenous factors could influence the green tides in this region.Further research covering both the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea is needed to trace the origin of the floating Sargassum and to understand the interactions between these two co-occurring seaweeds. | Jie Xiao Shiliang Fan Zongling Wang Mingzhu Fu Hongjun Song Xiao Wang Chao Yuan Min Pang Xiaoxiang Miao Xuelei Zhang | 2020 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,10: | 4 |
