1Prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder in China:A Nationwide Multi-center Population-based Study Among Children Aged 6 to 12 Years显示文摘This study aimed to obtain the first national estimate of the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in Chinese children.We targeted the population of 6 to 12-year-old children for this prevalence study by multistage convenient cluster sampling.The Modified Chinese Autism Spectrum Rating Scale was used for the screening process.Of the target population of 142,086 children,88.5%(n=125,806) participated in the study.A total of 363 children were confirmed as having ASD.The observed ASD prevalence rate was 0.29%(95% CI:0.26%-0.32%) for the overall population.After adjustment for response rates,the estimated number of ASD cases was867 in the target population sample,thereby achieving an estimated prevalence of 0.70%(95% CI:0.64%-0.74%).The prevalence was significantly higher in boys than in girls(0.95%;95% CI:0.87%-1.02% versus 0.30%;95%CI:0.26%-0.34%;P <0.001).Of the 363 confirmed ASD cases,43.3% were newly diagnosed,and most of those(90.4%) were attending regular schools,and 68.8% of the children with ASD had at least one neuropsychiatric comorbidity.Our findings provide reliable data on the estimated ASD prevalence and comorbidities in Chinese children.Hao Zhou Xiu Xu Weili Yan Xiaobing Zou Lijie Wu Xuerong Luo Tingyu Li Yi Huang Hongyan Guan Xiang Chen Meng Mao Kun Xia Lan Zhang Erzhen Li Xiaoling Ge Lili Zhang Chunpei Li Xudong Zhang Yuanfeng Zhou Ding Ding Andy Shih Eric Fombonne Yi Zheng Jisheng Han Zhongsheng Sun Yong-hui Jiang Yi Wang LATENT-NHC Study Team 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9:158

3MiR-30a Positively Regulates the Inflammatory Response of Microglia in Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis显示文摘Multiple sclerosis(MS) is a classical inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system(CNS). Microglia are the main resident immune cells in the CNS and are closely associated with the pathogenesis of MS.In the present study, we found that mi R-30 a was highly expressed in jellyfish-like microglia in chronic active lesions of MS patients, as well as in the microglia of mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) at the chronic phase. In vitro, the conditioned supernatant of mouse microglia overexpressing miR-30 a promoted the apoptosis of oligodendrocyte precursor cells(OPCs), and inhibited OPC differentiation. In vivo, overexpressing miR-30 a in transplanted microglia exacerbated the progression of EAE.Overexpression and knock-down experiments in primary cultured mouse microglia showed that mi R-30 a increased the expression of IL-1 b and i NOS, which are pro-inflammatory, while inhibiting the expression of Ym-1 and CD206.Mechanistically, mi R-30 a inhibited the expression of Ppargc1 b, which is the co-activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, resulting in pro-inflammatory effects. 4Metamodel-based Global Optimization Using Fuzzy Clustering for Design Space Reduction显示文摘High fidelity analysis are utilized in modern engineering design optimization problems which involve expensive black-box models.For computation-intensive engineering design problems,efficient global optimization methods must be developed to relieve the computational burden.A new metamodel-based global optimization method using fuzzy clustering for design space reduction(MGO-FCR) is presented.The uniformly distributed initial sample points are generated by Latin hypercube design to construct the radial basis function metamodel,whose accuracy is improved with increasing number of sample points gradually.Fuzzy c-mean method and Gath-Geva clustering method are applied to divide the design space into several small interesting cluster spaces for low and high dimensional problems respectively.Modeling efficiency and accuracy are directly related to the design space,so unconcerned spaces are eliminated by the proposed reduction principle and two pseudo reduction algorithms.The reduction principle is developed to determine whether the current design space should be reduced and which space is eliminated.The first pseudo reduction algorithm improves the speed of clustering,while the second pseudo reduction algorithm ensures the design space to be reduced.Through several numerical benchmark functions,comparative studies with adaptive response surface method,approximated unimodal region elimination method and mode-pursuing sampling are carried out.The optimization results reveal that this method captures the real global optimum for all the numerical benchmark functions.And the number of function evaluations show that the efficiency of this method is favorable especially for high dimensional problems.Based on this global design optimization method,a design optimization of a lifting surface in high speed flow is carried out and this method saves about 10 h compared with genetic algorithms.This method possesses favorable performance on efficiency,robustness and capability of global convergence and gives a new optimization strategy for engineering design optimization problems involving expensive black box models.LI Yulin LIU Li LONG Teng DONG Weili 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5:13
5CRISPR/Cas9-mediated PINK1 deletion leads to neurodegeneration in rhesus monkeys显示文摘Dear Editor,PINK1 mutations cause autosomal recessive and early-onset Parkinson’s disease(PD)with selective neurodegeneration.Unfortunately,current PINK1 knockout(KO)mouse1,2 and pig models3,4 are unable to recapitulate the selective and overt neurodegeneration seen in PD patients.Furthermore,endogenous Pink1 in the mouse brain is expressed at very low levels and can only be detected via immunoprecipitation,5 meaning that PINK1’s function in the mammalian brain needs to be assessed using larger animals that are closer to humans.We previously used CRISPR/Cas9 to target the monkey gene in one-cell stage embryos.6 Using the same approach,we designed two gRNAs to target exon 2(T1)and exon 4(T2),which encode a kinase domain in the PINK1 gene of rhesus monkeys(Fig.1a).CRISPR/Cas9 and PINK1 gRNAs were injected into one-cell stage rhesus monkey embryos.A T7E1 assay and sequencing of PCR products from the injected embryos showed high efficiency(61.5%)in targeting PINK1(Fig.1b and Supplementary information,Fig.S1).Transfer of 87 embryos to 28 surrogate rhesus monkeys resulted in 11 pregnancies(39.2%)(Fig.1b).Eleven fetuses developed to term and were born naturally.Of these live monkeys,eight carried PINK1 mutations(M),and three were wild type(WT).However,three mutant monkeys(M1,M3 and M4)were newborn triplets that struggled to survive and died 3-4 days after birth.One WT newborn monkey also died after a difficult labor.Another mutant monkey(M2)died 7 days after birth without noticeable warning signs or symptoms.The other three mutant monkeys(M6,M7 and M8)have lived for three years;M5,however,reduced its food intake and showed weakness at the age of 1.5 years,and died 30 days after anesthesia for MRI examination.Weili Yang Yunbo Liu Zhuchi Tu Chong Xiao Sen Yan Xishan Ma Xiangyu Guo Xiusheng Chen Peng Yin Zhengyi Yang Su Yang Tianzi Jiang Shihua Li Chuan Qin Xiao-Jiang Li 2019Cell Research2019,29,4:12
6Outcomes in refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma:results fromamulticenter real-world study in China显示文摘Background:Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL)patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis.However,the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries.To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China,we conducted a multicenter,retrospective cohort study.Methods:The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL(REAL-TREND)study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China.DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset.Overall survival(OS)was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test.Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers,the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models.Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.Results:A total of 2778 DLBCL patients diagnosed between January,2010 and December,2015 were enrolled to this study.After validating previous definitions,the SCHOLAR-1 study was most suitable to define refractory DLBCL.The estimated 5-year cumulative incidence of refractory patients was 20%(95% confidence Interval[CI]=18%-22%).After the determination of refractory disease,overall response rate and complete remission rate were 30%(95%CI=22%-38%)and 9%(95%CI=4%-15%),respectively.Patients with either no response to immunochemotherapy or relapse within 12 months after stem-cell transplantation had inferior survival with a median OS of 5.9 months(95%CI=5.5-7.1 months)and 2-year OS rate of 16%(95%CI=12%-20%).International prognostic index score 4-5(hazard ratio[HR]=2.22;95%CI=1.47-3.35),central nervous systemrelapse(HR=1.43;95%CI=1.04-1.97),and best response status(HR=2.68;95%CI=1.42-5.03 for partial remission.HR=5.97,95%CI=3.21-11.11 for stable disease/progressive disease)were independent unfavorable prognostic factors.Conclusions:This is the first large-scale Asian cohort study focusing on outcomes of refractory DLBCL.The definition of the SCHOLAR-1 study identifies patients with homogenously inferior survival,thus is appropriate to select refractory DLBCL.Due to poor clinical outcomes in the rituximab era,patients with refractory DLBCL may be potential candidates for novel treatment modalities.Shuo Wang Li Wang Jianda Hu Wenbin Qian Xi Zhang Yu Hu Qi Zhu Bobin Chen Depei Wu Chung-Chou H.Chang Pengpeng Xu Xiaoyun Zheng Juying Wei Yao Liu Guohui Cui Yong Tang Yan Ma Haiwen Huang Hongmei Yi Weili Zhao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,3:10
7Terahertz spoof surface-plasmon-polariton subwavelength waveguide显示文摘Surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) with the features of subwavelength confinement and strong enhancements have sparked enormous interest. However, in the terahertz regime, due to the perfect conductivities of most metals, it is hard to realize the strong confinement of SPPs, even though the propagation loss could be sufficiently low. One main approach to circumvent this problem is to exploit spoof SPPs, which are expected to exhibit useful subwavelength confinement and relative low propagation loss at terahertz frequencies. Here we report the design,fabrication, and characterization of terahertz spoof SPP waveguides based on corrugated metal surfaces. The various waveguide components, including a straight waveguide, an S-bend waveguide, a Y-splitter, and a directional coupler, were experimentally demonstrated using scanning near-field terahertz microscopy. 10Influence of Temperature and Salinity on Germination of Eelgrass (Zostera marina L.) Seeds显示文摘Seagrass restoration as part of ocean ecosystem protection has been launched for many years all over the world, but intensive research on this subject in China has just begun in recent years. Seed broadcasting has been widely accepted as the most potentially useful method for seagrass restoration over large areas. We examined the influence of key environmental factors on seed germination to help promote eelgrass bed restoration. Under anoxic conditions, the influence of temperature and salinity on the germination rate of eelgrass (Zostera marina L.) seeds was examined at different combinations of four temperatures (4, 9, 14, and 24℃) and nine salinities (5 to 45, increment of 5). The effect of significant interaction of temperature and salinity on germination rate was observed (ANOVA) (P<0.001). The highest germination rate (83.3 ± 3.5)% was reached in 8 weeks at 14℃ and salinity 5. Higher temperature significantly increased the germination rate at salinity 5 (P<0.001) during the whole observation period except for 24℃, while lower salinity significantly increased the germination rate at 14℃ (P<0.001). Although significant interaction was found between temperature and salinity (P<0.001), the influence of salinity was stronger than that of temperature for the germination of eelgrass seeds. 11Emission inventory evaluation using observations of regional atmospheric background stations of China显示文摘Any accurate simulation of regional air quality by numerical models entails accurate and up-to-date emissions data for that region.The INTEX-B2006 (I06),one of the newest emission inventories recently popularly used in China and East Asia,has been assessed using the Community Multiscale Air Quality model and observations from regional atmospheric background stations of China.Comparisons of the model results with the observations for the species SO2,NO 2,O 3 and CO from the three regional atmospheric background stations of Shangdianzi,Longfengshan and Linan show that the model can basically capture the temporal characteristics of observations such as the monthly,seasonal and diurnal variance trends.Compared to the other three species,the simulated CO values were grossly underestimated by about two-third or one-half of the observed values,related to the uncertainty in CO emissions.Compared to the other two stations,Shangdianzi had poorer simulations,especially for SO2 and CO,which partly resulted from the site location close to local emission sources from the Beijing area;and the regional inventory used was not capable of capturing the influencing factors of strong regional sources on stations.Generally,the fact that summer gave poor simulation,especially for SO2 and O 3,might partly relate to poor simulations of meteorological fields such as temperature and wind.Xingqin An Zhaobin Sun Weili Lin Min Jin Nan Li 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3:7
12Dynamic analysis of granite rockburst based on the PIV technique显示文摘This paper describes the deep rockburst simulation system to reproduce the granite instantaneous rockburst process.Based on the PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry)technique,quantitative analysis of a rockburst,the images of tracer particle,displacement and strain fields can be obtained,and the debris trajectory described.According to the observation of on-site tests,the dynamic rockburst is actually a gas–solid high speed flow process,which is caused by the interaction of rock fragments and surrounding air.With the help of analysis on high speed video and PIV images,the granite rockburst failure process is composed of six stages of platey fragment spalling and debris ejection.Meanwhile,the elastic energy for these six stages has been calculated to study the energy variation.The results indicate that the rockburst process can be summarized as:an initiating stage,intensive developing stage and gradual decay stage.This research will be helpful for our further understanding of the rockburst mechanism.Wang Hongjian Liu Da'an Gong Weili Li Liyun 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2:6
13Sedimentation Rate Rhythms:Evidence from Filling of the Tarim Basin,Northwest China显示文摘Variations of sedimentation rate within a basin over geologic time are a time series that can be filtered into several cyclic wave curves. Based on back-stripping and the empirical mode decomposition method, the cores from 14 wells in the Tarim Basin were selected to do filtering analysis. Four cycles or quasi-cycles(33 Ma, 64.4 Ma, 103.6 Ma, and 224 Ma) were obtained. Among these, the 33 Ma period, which was related to the internal earth activity, an external force, or a combination of the two, was the most obvious. The 64.4 Ma period corresponded to the solar system crossing the galaxy plane or the periodic melting of inner-earth material. The 103.6 Ma period was related with plate collisional tectonism around the Tarim Plate. 14Effects of plant roots on soil preferential pathways and soil matrix in forest ecosystems显示文摘To characterize effects of plant roots on preferential flow(PF),we measured root length density(RLD)and root biomass(RB) in Jiufeng National Forest Park,Beijing,China.Comparisons were made for RLD and RB between soil preferential pathways and soil matrices.RLD and RB declined with the increasing soil depth(0–10,10–20,20–30,30–40,40–50,50–60 cm) in all experimental plots.RLD was greater in soil preferential pathways than in the surrounding soil matrix and was 69.5,75.0 and72.2 % for plant roots of diameter(d) \1,1 \ d \ 3 and3 \ d \ 5 mm,respectively.Fine root systems had the most pivotal influence on soil preferential flow in this forest ecosystem.In all experimental plots,RB content was the sum of RB from soil preferential pathways and the soil matrix in each soil depth.With respect to 6 soil depth gradient(0–10,10–20,20–30,30–40,40–50,50–60 cm) in each plot,the number of soil depth gradient that RB content was greater in soil preferential pathways than in the soil matrix was characterized,and the proportion was68.2 % in all plots.Yinghu Zhang Jianzhi Niu Weili Zhu Xiaoqing Du Jiao Li 2015Journal of Forestry Research2015,26,2:6
15Performance of the Autism Spectrum Rating Scale and Social Responsiveness Scale in Identifying Autism Spectrum Disorder Among Cases of Intellectual Disability显示文摘The Autism Spectrum Rating Scale(ASRS) and the Social Responsiveness Scale(SRS) have been widely used for screening autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in the general population during epidemiological studies, but studies of individuals with intellectual disability(ID) are quite limited. Therefore, we recruited the parents/caregivers of 204 ASD cases, 71 ID cases aged 6–18 years from special education schools, and 402 typically developing(TD) children in the same age span from a communitybased population to complete the ASRS and SRS. The results showed that the ID group scored significantly lower on total and subscale scores than the ASD group on both scales(P \ 0.05) but higher than TD children(P \ 0.05).Receiver operating characteristic analyses demonstrated a similar fair performance in discriminating ASD from ID with the ASRS(area under the curve(AUC) = 0.709,sensitivity = 77.0%, specificity = 52.1%, positive predictive value(PPV) = 82.2%) and the SRS(AUC = 0.742,sensitivity = 59.8%, specificity = 77.5%, PPV = 88.4%).The results showed that individuals with ID had clear autistic traits and discriminating ASD from ID cases was quite challenging, while assessment tools such as ASRS and SRS, help to some degree.Chunpei Li Hao Zhou Tianqi Wang Shasha Long Xiaonan Du Xiu Xu Weili Yan Yi Wang 2018Neuroscience Bulletin2018,34,6:5
16Optimizing zeolite stabilized Pt-Zn catalysts for propane dehydrogenation显示文摘Propane dehydrogenation(PDH)provides an alternative route to non-petroleum based propylene and eligible catalysts with good overall performance are still being explored.Herein,we report the construction of zeolite stabilized Pt-Zn catalysts Pt-Zn/Si-Beta for PDH.Characterization results from transmission electron microscopy(TEM),ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy reveal that highly-dispersed Zn species are stabilized by the silanols from zeolite framework dealumination,which then act as the anchoring sites for Pt species.The close contact between Pt-Zn species and the electronic interaction thereof make Pt-Zn/Si-Beta robust PDH catalysts.Under optimized conditions,a high propylene production rate of 4.11 molmol_(Pt)^(-1)s^(-1),high propylene selectivity of 98% and a sustainable deactivation rate of~0.02 h^(-1)can be simultaneously achieved at 823 K.Coke deposition is not the key reason for the catalytic deactivation,while the loss of Zn species and the resulting aggregation of Pt species under high temperatures are responsible for the irreversible deactivation of Pt-Zn/Si-Beta catalyst in PDH reaction.Linjun Xie Yuchao Chai Lanlan Sun Weili Dai Guangjun Wu Naijia Guan Landong Li 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6:5

19Synthesis, Microstructure and Optical Absorption of Coatings with Doping of Nano-TiO_2 for Protection Against UltravioletIrradiation显示文摘The synthesis of dispersions of MMA (methylmethacrylate) with different concentrations of oleic acid coated nano-TiO2 particles was performed by hydrolysis of TiCI4 in the mixture solutions of MMA, oleic acid and H2O with various concentrations. When MMA: oleic acid: H2O : TiCi4 =1.00: 0.064 : 0.01: 0.032 (by mol fraction), the dispersion of MMA with oleic acid coated nano-TiO2 particles was very stable. Optical absorption result showed that the absorption band was located in the ultraviolet range from 200 to 400 nm. This dispersion was added to a kind of automobile surface lustering agent (type II), and then this lustering agent with nano-TiO2 was coated on the surface of automobile surface paint. When the doping amount of the dispersion in the lustering agent=10 vol. pct, the state of paint (color and glossiness) did not present any change after irradiation of an ultraviolet lamp with the power of 1000 watt for two days. The sample with surface paint and lustering agent doped by 10 percent dispersion after suffering from irradiation of the sunlight for half a year (from May to November) kept the original state. However, for the samples with automobile paint and lustering agent without doping of nano- TiO2, the color and glossiness lost easily after irradiation of an ultraviolet lamp. 20Breast cancer-specific serum peptide profiles显示文摘Early detection of breast cancer is paramount to successful clinical therapy. Yet, early-stage breast cancer lacks specific symptoms or biomarkers. With the emerging of the mass spectrometric (MS) -based signatures as biomarkers, we investigated breast cancer-related serum profile pattern through class prediction and independent validation, and used Fourier transfer MS to identify breast cancer signature. We now show a distinctive serum peptide pattern that discriminates breast cancer from healthy controls with 93.2% sensitivity and 95.4% specificity. m/z 5901.70 and 4465.74 of ion fragment of FPA and alpha1-antichymotrypsin are found in the signatures that predominantly discriminate breast cancer from healthy individuals.
