| 1 | Global correlation for strontium isotope curve in the Late Cretaceous of Tibet and dating marine sediments显示文摘87Sr/86Sr ratios of marine carbonate samples collected from a sedimentary section of the Late Cretaceous in the south of Tibet were measured. Based on the absence of cathodoluminescence and a very low Mn/Sr ratio (average 0.06) of the samples, it is thought that they contain information on the original seawater strontium isotope composition. The strontium isotope evolution curve of the Late Cretaceous in Tibet we established here, is consistent with other coeval curves from Europe, North America and Antarctica, supports the notion that the strontium isotope composition of seawater is governed by global events, which provides a new approach for the inter-continental and inter-basinal correlations of Late Cretaceous in the area and is a complementarity for biostratigraphy. In addition, we attempt to determine the age of the boundaries for Campanian/Santonian and Maastrichtian/Campanian by 87Sr/86Sr ratios for Gamba section in southern Tibet. | 2 | Combination Mechanism and Enhanced Visible-Light Photocatalytic Activity and Stability of CdS/g-C3N4 Heterojunctions显示文摘In this study,CdS/g-C_3N_4(CSCN) heterojunctions were in situ fabricated with a large amount of Cd S nanoparticles anchored on g-C_3N_4 nanosheets.A wet chemical method was developed for the first time to determine the actual content of Cd S in CSCN composites.X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectra(FTIR),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS) were employed to characterize the composition,structure and optical property of CSCN composites.Based on the isoelectric point(IEP) analysis of g-C_3N_4,a conclusion was obtained on the combination mechanism between Cd S nanoparticles and g-C_3N_4 nanosheets.The photocatalytic activity of CSCN composites was much better than those of individual Cd S and g-C_3N_4 for the degradation of azo dye Methyl Orange(MO) by 40 min adsorption in the dark followed by 15 min photocatalysis under visible light irradiation.After 5 cycles,CSCN composites still maintained high reactive activity with the MO degradation efficiency of 93.8%,exhibiting good photocatalytic stability.The Cd2+concentration dissolved in the supernatant detected by atomic absorption spectroscopy(AAS) of CSCN composites was lower than that of pure Cd S,implying that the photocorrosion of Cd S could be suppressed via the combination with g-C_3N_4.Photoluminescence emission spectra(PL) results clearly revealed that the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs in CSCN composites was effectively inhibited due to the formation of heterojunctions.Based on the band alignments of g-C_3N_4 and Cd S,the possible photocatalytic mechnism was discussed. | Huanyan Xu Licheng Wu Liguo Jin Kejia Wu | 2017 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2017,33,1: | 10 |
| 3 | Surface Partial Discharge Characteristics of Oil-paper Insulation Under Combined AC-DC Voltage显示文摘The valve side windings of converter transformers bear AC, DC, impulse, and reversal-polarity voltages during operation, which could result in serious insulation problems of the equipment. By performing experiments with surface discharge model of oil-paper insula- tion at 80 ℃ under combined AC-DC voltage for 200 h, we studied the spectrums and statistical parameters of partial discharges at different discharge stages. Furthermore, some fingerprint parameters were calculated in order to estimate the development situation of par- tial discharge, while the characteristic gases dissolved in the transformer oil were measured by gas chromatography. The surface discharges in the experiments were observed using a high speed camera, and a full discharge process could be marked off into four stages as follows. ①The elementary stage. When a partial discharge occurs near electrodes, electrical charges are injected into the region near electrodes and causing bubble generation. ②Due to their high resistivity and low dielectric constant, the bubbles would bare the major part of the voltage applied to samples. The studied structure is composed of two homogeneous layers and a functionally graded interlayer with a crack perpendicular to the boundaries. The impact load is applied on the face of the crack. Fourier transform and Laplace transform methods are used to formulate the present problem in terms of a singular integral equation in Laplace transform domain. | 6 | Influences of air CO2 on hydrochemistry of drip water and implications for paleoclimate study in a stream-developed cave, SW China显示文摘Cave air CO_2 is a vital part of the cave environment. Most studies about cave air CO_2 variations are performed in caves with no streams; there are few studies to date regarding the relationship of cave air CO_2 variations and drip water hydrochemistry in underground stream–developed caves. To study the relationship of underground stream, drip water, and cave air CO_2, monthly and daily monitoring of air CO_2 and of underground stream and drip water was performed in Xueyu Cave from 2012 to 2013.The results revealed that there was marked seasonal variation of air CO_2 and stream hydrochemistry in the cave. Daily variations of cave air CO_2, and of stream and drip water hydrochemistry, were notable during continuous monitoring.A dilution effect was observed by analyzing hydrochemical variations in underground stream and drip water after rainfall. High cave air CO_2 along with low p H and low δ^(13)C DIC in stream and drip water indicated that air CO_2 was one of the dominant factors controlling stream and drip water hydrochemistry on a daily scale. On a seasonal scale, stream flows may promote increased cave air CO_2 in summer; in turn, the higher cave air CO_2 could inhibit degassing of drip water and make calcite δ^(13)C more negative. Variation of calcite δ^(13)C(precipitated from drip water) was in reverse of monthly temperature, soil CO_2, and cave air CO_2. Therefore,calcite δ^(13)C in Xueyu Cave could be used to determine monthly changes outside the cave. | 9 | A chromosome-level genome assembly reveals that a bipartite gene cluster formed via an inverted duplication controls monoterpenoid biosynthesis in Schizonepeta tenuifolia显示文摘Biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)are regions of a genome where genes involved in a biosynthetic pathway are in proximity.The origin and evolution of plant BGCs as well as their role in specialized metabolism remain largely unclear.In this study,we have assembled a chromosome-scale genome of Japanese catnip(Schizonepeta tenuifolia)and discovered a BGC that contains multiple copies of genes involved in four adjacent steps in the biosynthesis of p-menthane monoterpenoids.This BGC has an unprecedented bipartite structure,with mirrored biosynthetic regions separated by 260 kilobases.This bipartite BGC includes identical copies of a gene encoding an old yellow enzyme,a type of flavin-dependent reductase.In vitro assays and virus-induced gene silencing revealed that this gene encodes the missing isopiperitenone reductase.This enzyme evolved from a completely different enzyme family to isopiperitenone reductase from closely related Mentha spp.,indicating convergent evolution of this pathway step.Phylogenomic analysis revealed that this bipartite BGC has emerged uniquely in the S.tenuifolia lineage and through insertion of pathway genes into a region rich in monoterpene synthases.The cluster gained its bipartite structure via an inverted duplication.The discovered bipartite BGC for p-menthane biosynthesis in S.tenuifolia has similarities to the recently described duplicated p-menthane biosynthesis gene pairs in the Mentha longifolia genome,providing an example of the convergent evolution of gene order.This work expands our understanding of plant BGCs with respect to both form and evolution,and highlights the power of BGCs for gene discovery in plant biosynthetic pathways. | Chanchan Liu Samuel J.Smit Jingjie Dang Peina Zhou Grant T.Godden Zheng Jiang Wukun Liu Licheng Liui Wei Lin Jinao Duan Qinan Wu Benjamin R.Lichman | 2023 | Molecular Plant2023,16,3: | 2 |
