1Effect of processing routes on microstructure and mechanical properties of 2014 Al alloy processed by equal channel angular pressing显示文摘Al-Cu alloy was deformed through equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) by routes A,Ba,Bc and C up to 5 passes.ECAP was done using a 90° die for three different conditions,namely 1) as received,2) solutionised at 768 K for 1 h and 3) solutionised at 768 K for 1 h + aged at 468 K for 5 h.The microstructure,microhardness and tensile strength were studied for all the three conditions and four routes.Significant improvement in hardness(HV 184 after five passes) and strength(602 MPa after three passes) was observed in solutionised and aged 2014 Al alloy deformed through route Bc.Microstructure evolution was reasonably equiaxed in route Bc with aspect ratio of 1.6.Solutionised and aged 2014 Al alloy deformed through route Bc was identified to have better microstructure and mechanical property than the other processing routes and conditions.P.VENKATACHALAM S.RAMESH KUMAR B.RAVISANKAR V.THOMAS PAUL M.VIJAYALAKSHMI 2010Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China2010,20,10:6

3Biochars produced from coconut palm biomass residues can aid regenerative agriculture by improving soil properties and plant yield in humid tropics显示文摘Lignin-rich recalcitrant biomass residues of coconut palms viz.(i)mature coconut husk,(ii)tender(immature or green)coconut husk(iii)coconut leaf petiole and(iv)coir-pith were successfully pyrolysed using a simple charring kiln into carbon-rich,black,light weight and porous biochars.High alkalinity and good ash content made them fit for remediating acid soils.High potassium content in these biochars could help reduce the use of inorganic K.Thermogravimetric analysis showed the mass loss phases of husk and coconut leaf petiole biochars to be similar.However,all four biochars gave smooth curves indicating thermal stability of the product.Positive seed germination and earthworm avoidance tests proved their potential as soil amendment.Soil incubation studies with coconut biochars in graded doses,alone or in combination with coconut leaf vermicompost,increased the pH,organic carbon and potassium contents,and promoted plant-beneficial microbiota and enzyme activities.Pot studies with tender coconut husk biochar and coconut leaf vermicompost enhanced the dry weight of cowpea plants accompanied with increased arbuscular mycorrhizal sporulation and root colonization,and root nodule dry weight.A field trial resulted in higher chilli yields with tender coconut husk biochar+coconut leaf vermicompost addition.The results from our studies highlight the potential of pyrolysis as an innovative technology for quick recycling of highly recalcitrant coconut palm biomass residues to biochars as a local source of soil amendment to aid regenerative agriculture in humid tropics.Murali Gopal Alka Gupta K.Shahul Hameed Neenu Sathyaseelan T.H.Khadeejath Rajeela George V.Thomas 2020Biochar2020,2,2:1

5Dynamic partner selection in Cloud Federation for ensuring the quality of service for cloud consumers显示文摘Cloud Computing has become the popular paradigm for accessing the various scalable and on-demand computing services over the internet.Nowadays,individual Cloud Service Providers(CSPs)offering specialized services to the customers collaborate to form the Cloud Federation,in order to reap the real benefits of Cloud Computing.By collaboration,the member CSPs of the federation achieve better resource utilization and Quality of Service(QoS),thereby increasing their business prospects.When a CSP runs out of resources in the Cloud Federation,in order to offload the customer requests for resources to other CSP(s),identifying a suitable partner is a challenging task due to the lack of global coordination among them.In this paper,we propose the design and implementation of an efficient partner selection mechanism in the Cloud Federation,using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)methods,and also considering the trust values of various CSPs in the federation.The AHP method is used to calculate the weights of the QoS parameters used in the TOPSIS method which is used to rank the various CSPs in the Cloud Federation according to the user requirements.Simulation results show the effectiveness of this approach in order to efficiently select the trustworthy partners in large scale federations to ensure the required QoS to the cloud consumers.Manoj V.Thomas K.Chandrasekaran 2017International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing2017,8,3:0
