| 4 | Evaluating the accuracy of Chinese pasture data in global historical land use datasets显示文摘Global historical land use datasets are widely used in global environmental change studies; however, uncertainties in the included pasture data have not been evaluated. In this study, using trend, relative difference ratio(RDR), and spatial comparisons, we evaluated the accuracy of China pasture data in the HYDE(versions 3.1 and 3.2), SAGE, and PJ datasets using historical document-based reconstructions, including the land use datasets for China covering 1935–1997(hereafter Ge-dataset)and Northeast China covering the 1700 s–2000(hereafter Ye-dataset), and the satellite-based China's Land-Use/cover Datasets(CLUDs) for 1980–2015. Four important results were obtained.(1) China pasture area in the HYDE, SAGE, and PJ datasets and grassland area in the Ge-dataset, Ye-dataset, and CLUDs show both disparate trends and large differences in absolute values.(2)Spatially, 50.9%, 52.8%, and 63.0% pasture/grassland grids in 2000 had RDRs greater than 60% between HYDE3.1, HYDE3.2,and SAGE datasets, and CLUDs, respectively. | 9 | Overexpression of PITPNM3 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma cell metastasis显示文摘A previous study indicated that C–C chemokine(C–C motif)ligand 18(CCL18)is capable of inducing tumor cell invasion and metastasis by interacting with receptor membrane-associated phosphatidylinositol transfer protein 3(PITPNM3)in breast cancer cells.The present study aims to investigate the correlation between the PITPNM3 expression and metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were performed to detect the expression pattern of PITPNM3 in patient samples and HCC cell lines.Wound-healing and transwell chamber assays were performed to assess the migration and invasiveness of HCC cells,and the activation of the signaling protein downstream of PITPNM3 was also detected by Western blot and immunofluorescence.The results revealed that PITPNM3 was upregulated in HCC tissue compared to matched normal liver tissue.Silencing the expression of PITPNM3 by specific siRNAs markedly attenuated the invasive and metastatic abilities of HCC cells,whereas the upregulation of PITPNM3 significantly increased HCC cell mobility.Furthermore,inhibiting the expression of PITPNM3 suppressed the activation of Pyk2,FAK,and Src,while overexpression of PITPNM3enhanced the phosphorylation of FAK and Src in HCC cells.Besides,suppression of Pyk2 can also impair the clustering of integrin.These results imply that PITPNM3 is a vital determinant of HCC migration and invasion. | Chonghua He Shicheng Su Fei Chen Di Huang Fang Zheng Wei Huang Jianing Chen Xiuying Cui Qiang Liu Erwei Song Herui Yao Yujie Liu | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,12: | 3 |

| 12 | Essential role of Msx1 in regulating anterior-posterior patterning of the secondary palate in mice显示文摘Development of the secondary palate displays molecular heterogeneity along the anterior-posterior axis;however, the underlying molecular mechanism remains largely unknown. MSX1 is an anteriorly expressed transcription repressor required for palate development. Here, we investigate the role of Msx1 in regional patterning of the secondary palate. The Wnt1-Cre-mediated expression of Msx1(Rosa Msx1^(Wnt1-Cre))throughout the palatal mesenchyme leads to cleft palate in mice, associated with aberrant cell proliferation and cell death. Osteogenic patterning of the hard palate in Rosa Msx1^(Wnt1-Cre)mice is severely impaired, as revealed by a marked reduction in palatine bone formation and decreased expression of the osteogenic regulator Sp7. Overexpression and knockout of Msx1 in mice show that the transcription repressor promotes the expression of the anterior palate-specific Alx1 but represses the expression of the medialposterior palate genes Barx1, Meox2, and Tbx22. Furthermore, Tbx22 constitutes a direct Msx1 target gene in the secondary palate, suggesting that Msx1 can directly repress the expression of medial-posterior specific genes. Finally, we determine that Sp7 is downstream of Tbx22 in palatal mesenchymal cells,suggesting that a Msx1/Tbx22/Sp7 axis participates in the regulation of palate development. | 18 | Evaluating the reliability of global historical land use scenarios for forest data in China显示文摘Global historical land use scenarios are widely used to simulate the climatic and ecological effects of changes in land cover;however,reliability evaluation of these scenarios for data on China’s forests is missing.By using a historical document-derived Chinese forest dataset(CHFD)for the years 1700–2000,we evaluated the reliability of data on forests in China over three global scenarios-SAGE(Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment),PJ(Pongratz Julia),and KK10(Kaplan and Krumhardt 2010)-through trend-related,quantitative,and spatial comparisons.The results show the following:(1)Although the area occupied by forests in China in the SAGE,PJ,KK10,and CHFD datasets decreased over the past 300 years,there were large differences between global scenarios and CHFD.The area occupied by forests in China in the SAGE scenario for 1700–1990 was 20%–40%more than that according to CHFD,and that occupied by forests in the KK10 from 1700 to 1850 was 32%–46%greater than that in CHFD.The difference between the PJ and CHFD was lower than 20%for most years.(2)Large differences were detected at the provincial and grid cell scales,where the PJ scenario was closer to CHFD in terms of total forested area.Provinces with large differences in terms of trend and quantity were 84%and 92%of all provinces,respectively.Grid cells with relative differences greater than 70%accounted for 60%–80%of all grids.(3)These global historical land use scenarios do not accurately reveal the spatiotemporal pattern of Chinese forests due to differences in the data sources,methods of reconstruction,and spatial scales. | YANG Fan HE Fanneng LI Meijiao LI Shicheng | 2020 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2020,30,7: | 1 |
