1Disassembly of the fruit cell wall by the ripening-associated polygalacturonase and expansin influences tomato cracking显示文摘Fruit cracking is an important problem in horticultural crop production.Polygalacturonase(SlPG)and expansin(SlEXP1)proteins cooperatively disassemble the polysaccharide network of tomato fruit cell walls during ripening and thereby,enable softening.A Golden 2-like(GLK2)transcription factor,SlGLK2 regulates unripe fruit chloroplast development and results in elevated soluble solids and carotenoids in ripe fruit.To determine whether SlPG,SlEXP1,or SlGLK2 influence the rate of tomato fruit cracking,the incidence of fruit epidermal cracking was compared between wild-type,Ailsa Craig(WT)and fruit with suppressed SlPG and SlEXP1 expression(pg/exp)or expressing a truncated nonfunctional Slglk2(glk2).Treating plants with exogenous ABA increases xylemic flow into fruit.Our results showed that ABA treatment of tomato plants greatly increased cracking of fruit from WT and glk2 mutant,but not from pg/exp genotypes.The pg/exp fruit were firmer,had higher total soluble solids,denser cell walls and thicker cuticles than fruit of the other genotypes.Fruit from the ABA treated pg/exp fruit had cell walls with less water-soluble and more ionically and covalently-bound pectins than fruit from the other lines,demonstrating that ripening-related disassembly of the fruit cell wall,but not elimination of SlGLK2,influences cracking.Cracking incidence was significantly correlated with cell wall and wax thickness,and the content of cell wall protopectin and cellulose,but not with Ca^(2+)content.Fangling Jiang Alfonso Lopez Shinjae Jeon Sergio Tonetto de Freitas Qinghui Yu Zhen Wu John M.Labavitch Shengke Tian Ann L.T.Powell Elizabeth Mitcham 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:13

3A comparative analysis of dielectric properties of oil-paper insulation and polymer materials before and after thermal aging显示文摘The shortcomings of oil-immersed transformer solid insulation like low high-temperature resistance of the insulation paper and the uneven distribution of electric field caused by the large difference of dielectric constants between insulation paper and transformer oil,restricted the development of transformer with smaller size and larger capacity.In view of this situation and the transformer’s demand for the dielectric physicochemical and mechanical property of insulation material,polycarbonate,polyester film and polyphenylene sulfide with high high-temperature resistance were chosen for the comparison analysis in this paper We did the 300-day thermal aging experiment on four samples in transformer oil under different aging temperatures of90°C,110°C and 130°C,then analyzed the changes of their dielectric properties.The experiment results are as follows;the permittivity and dielectric dissipation factor of the three polymer materials are apparently smaller than those of the paper both before and after 300-day aging;the volume resistivity and partial discharge inception voltage of the three materials are higher than those of the paper both before and after aging;and the breakdown field strength of polycarbonate is higher than that of the paper both before and after aging,while that of polyester film and polyphenylene sulfide are slightly lower than that of the paper.WANG Wei YUE CaiPeng HE DongXin YANG Kai CHEN ShengKe 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4:2
4pH-Responsive supramolecular DOX-dimer based on cucurbit[8]uril for selective drug release显示文摘A supramolecular dimer of doxorubicin(DOX)was constructed via ternary host-guest interactions between cucurbit[8]uril(CB[8])and tryptophan modified DOX(DOX-Trp,connected with an acid-labile bond)and we demonstrate for the first time that a supramolecular dimer of DOX can be formed upon homo-dimerization by CB[8],which may act as a stimuli pH-responsive,supramolecular DOX dimer prodrug system.This supramolecular DOX dimer transported DOX efficiently and selectively to cancer cells,thereby exhibiting significantly minimized cytotoxicity against noncancerous cells while maintaining effective cytotoxicity against cancer cells.Under this strategy,many other anticancer drugs could be chemically modified and loaded as a dimeric'ammunition'into CB[8]as supramolecular dimer prodrug systems(or a'jet fighter')for improved cancer therapy.Qian Cheng Shengke Li Yanlong Ma Hang Yin Ruibing Wang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,5:2
5Experimental investigation on ice-breaking performance of a novel plasma striker显示文摘Aircraft icing has long been a plague to aviation for its serious threat to flight safety.Recently,researches about a newly proposed deicing method based on Plasma Synthetic Jet Actuator(PSJA)have just started.To meet the requirements of in-flight deicing,structure of PSJA needs to be adjusted.This paper completed the detailed design and experimental validation of a novel plasma striker,which was a modified version of PSJA.Influences of mass of the moving part and rod shapes on the ice-breaking performances were also studied.Besides,a“conical-nosed rod configuration”was proposed.Its purpose was to ensure a good ice-breaking performance of the plasma striker on long ice,by generating a splitting failure.Results show that,though mass of the moving part was just several grams,ice-breaking performance was better when the mass was lighter.The rectangular rod could generate an elliptical circumferential crack,whose major axis was parallel to the direction of the long side of the rectangular rod.And the“conical-nosed rod”concept was verified to be able to generate a splitting crack which can spread completely to the far end of long ice,and the crack direction was parallel to edge line of the cone.In general,the plasma striker has the advantages of simple structure,low energy consumption,little harm to the flow field and the aircraft skin.Simulations will be carried out in future works to study in detail the working process of the plasma striker.Tianxiang GAO Zhenbing LUO Yan ZHOU Shengke YANG Wenqiang PENG Xiong DENG Pan CHENG 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,1:2

9Adsorption behaviors of acetaminophen onto sediment in the Weihe River,Shaanxi,China显示文摘Adsorption behaviors of acetaminophen onto sediment in the Weihe River were described.The impact factors in the processes of adsorption,such as contact time,solution pH,temperature,and ionic strength,were determined by experiments.The experimental results were analyzed by kinetic and isotherm models.The adsorption kinetics was found to follow a pseudo-first-order model.The equilibrium adsorption data fitted well with the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models.However,the Langmuir isotherm was more suitable to describe the adsorption.Thermodynamics parameters such as Gibbs-free energy change(△C^0),enthalpy change(△H^0) and entropy change(△S^0) were calculated.Results showed that the adsorption was feasible,spontaneous,entropy increasing,and endothermic in nature,which reached equilibrium in about 24 hours.The adsorption capacity did not cause obvious change at solution pH 3.0-9.0,and decreased in solution pH 9.0-11.0.The presence of electrolytes such as NaCl in aqueous solution had a significant negative effect on the adsorption.The mechanisms controlling the adsorption were supposed to be chemisorption.Yue Zhao Shengke Yang Huihui Li Di Wang 2015International Journal of Sediment Research2015,30,3:1
10Reviving chloroquine for anti-SARS-CoV-2 treatment with cucurbit[7]uril-based supramolecular formulation显示文摘The wide-spreading SARS-CoV-2 virus has put the world into boiling water for more than a year,however pharmacological therapies to act effectively against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)remain elusive.Chloroquine(CQ),an antimalarial drug,was found to exhibit promising antiviral activity in vitro and in vivo at a high dosage,thus CQ was approved by the FDA for the emergency use authorization(EUA)in the fight against COVID-19 in the US,but later was revoked the EUA status due to the severe clinical toxicity.Herein,we show that supramolecular formulation of CQ by a macrocyclic host,curcurbit[7]uril(CB[7]),reduced its non-specific toxicity and improved its antiviral activity against coronavirus,working in synergy with CB[7].CB[7]was found to form 1:1 host-guest complexes with CQ,with a binding constant of$104 L/mol.The CQ-CB[7]formulation decreased the cytotoxicity of CQ against Vero E6 and L-02 cell lines.In particular,the cytotoxicity of CQ(60 mmol/L)against both Vero E6 cell line and L-02 cell lines was completely inhibited in the presence of 300 mmol/L and 600 mmol/L CB[7],respectively.Furthermore,the CB[7]alone showed astonishing antiviral activity in SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero E6 cells and mouse hepatitis virus strain A59(MHV-A59)infected N2 A cells,and synergistically improved the antiviral activity of CQ-CB[7],suggesting that CB[7]-based CQ formulation has a great potential as a safe and effective antiviral agent against SARS-CoV-2 and other coronavirus.Cheryl H.T.Kwong Jingfang Mu Shengke Li Yaohui Fang Qianyun Liu Xiangjun Zhang Hiotong Kam Simon M.Y.Lee Yu Chen Fei Deng Xi Zhou Ruibing Wang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10:1
11Deep belief network-based drug identification using near infrared spectroscopy显示文摘Near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)analysis technology,combined with chemometrics,can be effectively used in quick and nondestructive analysis of quality and category.In this paper,an effective drug identification method by using deep belief network(DBN)with dropout mecha-nism(dropout-DBN)to model NIRS is introduced,in which dropout is employed to overcome the overfitting problem coming from the small sample.This paper tests proposed method under datasets of different sizes with the example of near infrared diffuse refectance spectroscopy of erythromycin ethylsuccinate drugs and other drugs,aluminum and nonaluminum packaged.Meanwhile,it gives experiments to compare the proposed method's performance with back propagation(BP)neural network,support vector machines(SVMs)and sparse denoising auto-encoder(SDAE).The results show that for both binary classification and multi-classification,dropout mechanism can improve the classification accuracy,and dropout-DBN can achieve best classification accuracy in almost all cases.SDAE is similar to dropout-DBN in the aspects of classification accuracy and algorithm stability,which are higher than that of BP neural network and SVM methods.In terms of training time,dropout-DBN model is superior to SDAE model,but inferior to BP neural network and SVM methods.Therefore,dropout-DBN can be used as a modeling tool with effective binary and multi-class classification performance on a spectrum sample set of small size.Huihua Yang Baichao Hu Xipeng Pan Shengke Yan Yanchun Feng Xuebo Zhang Lihui Yin Changqin Hu 2017Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2017,,2:1

15Cucurbit[7]uril as a Broad-Spectrum Antiviral Agent against Diverse RNA Viruses显示文摘The emergence and re-emergence of RNA virus outbreaks highlight the urgent need for the development of broadspectrum antivirals.Polyamines are positively-charged small molecules required for the infectivity of a wide range of RNA viruses,therefore may become good antiviral targets.Cucurbit[7]uril(CB[7]),a synthetic macrocyclic molecule,which can bind with amine-based organic compounds with high affinity,has been shown to regulate bioactive molecules through competitive binding.In this study,we tested the antiviral activity of CB[7]against diverse RNA viruses,including a panel of enteroviruses(i.e.human enterovirus A71,coxsackievirus A16,coxsackievirus B3,and echovirus 11),some flaviviruses(i.e.dengue virus and Zika virus),and an alphavirus representative Semliki forest virus.CB[7]can inhibit virus replications in a variety of cell lines,and its mechanism of action is through the competitive binding with polyamines.Our findings not only for the first time provide evidence that CB[7]can be a promising broad-spectrum antiviral agent,but more importantly,offer a novel therapeutic strategy to fight against RNA viruses by supramolecular sequestration of polyamines.Jia Quan Xiangjun Zhang Yuanfu Ding Shengke Li Yang Qiu Ruibing Wang Xi Zhou 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:0
16The Inhibitory Effect of At BES1D on Tomato Seed Germination is Correlated with ABA显示文摘Brassinosteroids( BRs),a group of polyhydroxylated plant steroid hormones,have fundamental functions in many aspects of plant growth and development. The BRI1-EMS SUPPRESSOR1( BES1) transcription factor is a positive regulator involved in BRs signaling pathways. We studied the role of At BES1D( obtained from bes1-D Arabidopsis) in tomato( Solanum lycopersicum) seed germination. Overexpression of At BES1D in tomato inhibited seed germination compared with wild type Zhongshusihao( ZS4). The expression of abscisic acid( ABA) related genes was enhanced in At BES1D transgenic tomato seeds during germination.Furthermore,At BES1D transgenic tomato seeds were hypersensitive to ABA. 18Penetration of foliar-applied Zn and its impact on apple plant nutrition status:in vivo evaluation by synchrotron-based X-ray fluorescence microscopy显示文摘The absorption of foliar fertilizer is a complex process and is poorly understood.The ability to visualize and quantify the pathway that elements take following their application to leaf surfaces is critical for understanding the science and for practical applications of foliar fertilizers.By the use of synchrotron-based X-ray fluorescence to analyze the in vivo localization of elements,our study aimed to investigate the penetration of foliar-applied Zn absorbed by apple(Malus domestica Borkh.)leaves with different physiological surface properties,as well as the possible interactions between foliar Zn level and the mineral nutrient status of treated leaves.The results indicate that the absorption of foliar-applied Zn was largely dependent on plant leaf surface characteristics.High-resolution elemental maps revealed that the high binding capacity of the cell wall for Zn contributed to the observed limitation of Zn penetration across epidermal cells.Trichome density and stomatal aperture had opposite effects on Zn fertilizer penetration:a relatively high density of trichomes increased the hydrophobicity of leaves,whereas the presence of stomata facilitated foliar Zn penetration.Low levels of Zn promoted the accumulation of other mineral elements in treated leaves,and the complexation of Zn with phytic acid potentially occurred owing to exposure to high-Zn conditions.The present study provides direct visual evidence for the Zn penetration process across the leaf surface,which is important for the development of strategies for Zn biofortification in crop species.Ruohan Xie Jianqi Zhao Lingli Lu Patrick Brown Jiansheng Guo Shengke Tian 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:0
