9MAAS出生队列中PM_(10)和NO_(2)长期暴露与肺容量和气道阻力的关联显示文摘[背景]以往有关儿童期空气污染暴露对肺功能影响的研究得到的结果不相一致。一个常见的局限性是所采用的暴露数据的质量,很少有研究对整个生命早期的暴露进行纵向地建模。[目的]研究在支气管扩张治疗前与治疗后,暴露于空气动力学直径≤10μm(PM10)的颗粒物和二氧化氮(NO2)对特异性气道阻力和1秒用力呼气容积(FEV1)的长期影响。受试者来自于曼彻斯特哮喘和过敏症出生队列研究(Manchester Asthma and Allergy Study,MAAS)(n=1185)。[方法]受试者在其3、5、8和11岁时,到诊所就诊期间接受肺功能检测。通过微环境暴露模型估计从出生到11岁的个体水平PM10和NO2暴露;采用广义估计方程和多元线性回归模型估计纵向与横截面的关联。[结果]随着时间的推移,一生中PM10和NO2暴露与FEV1增长减少(预计百分比),在支气管扩张治疗之前(分别为PM10每增加1单位,FEV1增长-1.37%,95%CI:-2.52^-0.23;NO2每增加1单位,FEV1增长-0.83%,95%CI:-1.39^-0.28)与治疗之后(分别为:-3.59%,95%CI:-5.36^-1.83;-1.20%,95%CI:-1.97^-0.43)均呈显著相关。未发现随着时间的推移终生暴露与特异性气道阻力之间存在关联性。对11岁之前夏季和冬季的详细暴露估计值与11岁时的肺功能进行横断面分析,结果提示无显著性关联。[结论]长期PM10和NO2暴露均与学龄期儿童肺容量增长减少相关联,减少的量虽然小,但具有统计学意义。Anna Molter Raymond M. 11Laser ablation(in situ)Lu-Hf dating of magmatic fluorite and hydrothermal fluorite-bearing veins显示文摘Fluorite(CaF_(2))is a common hydrothermal mineral,which precipitates from fluorine-rich fluids with an exceptional capacity to transport metals and Rare Earth Elements(REEs).Hence,the ability to date fluorite has important implications for understanding the timing of metal transport in hydrothermal systems.Here we present,for the first time,fluorite Lu-Hf dates from fluorite-carbonate veins from the Olympic Cu-Au Province in South Australia.The fluorite dates were obtained in situ using the recently developed LA-ICP-MS/MS Lu-Hf dating method.A fluorite-calcite age of 1588±19 Ma was obtained for the Torrens Dam prospect,consistent with the timing of the formation of the nearby Olympic Dam iron-oxide copper gold Breccia Complex.Veins in the overlying Neoproterozoic successions were dated at 502±14 Ma,indicating a temporal link between Cu-sulphide remobilisation and the Delamerian Orogeny.Additionally,we present a multi-session reproducible date for magmatic fluorite from a monzogranite in the Pilbara Craton(Lu-Hf age of 2866±19 Ma).This age is consistent with a garnet Lu-Hf age from the same sample(2850±12 Ma)and holds potential to be developed into a secondary reference material for future fluorite Lu-Hf dating.Stijn Glorie Jacob Mulder Martin Hand Adrian Fabris Alexander Simpson Sarah Gilbert 2023Geoscience Frontiers2023,14,6:0

13In situ Lu–Hf phosphate geochronology:Progress towards a new tool for space exploration显示文摘Geochronology is fundamental to understanding planetary evolution.However,as space exploration continues to expand,traditional dating methods,involving complex laboratory processes,are generally not realistic for unmanned space applications.Campaign-style planetary exploration missions require dating methods that can(1)rapidly resolve age information on small samples,(2)be applied to minerals common in mafic rocks,and(3)be based on technologies that could be installed on future rover systems.We demonstrate the application of rapid in situ microanalytical Lu–Hf phosphate geochronology using samples of pallasite meteorites,which are representative examples of the deep interiors of differentiated planetoids that are generally difficult to date.Individual pallasites were dated by laser ablation tandem mass-spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS/MS),demonstrating a rapid novel method for exploring planetary evolution.Derived formation ages for individual pallasites agree with traditional methods and have<2%uncertainty,opening an avenue of opportunity for remote micro-analytical space exploration.Stijn Glorie Thomas Burke Martin Hand Alexander Simpson Sarah Gilbert Benjamin Wade 2022Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,3:0
14Persistent diarrhea with petechial rash-unusual pattern of light chain amyloidosis deposition on skin and gastrointestinal biopsies:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Amyloidosis is a rare disease characterized by extracellular deposition of misfolded protein aggregated into insoluble fibrils.Gastrointestinal involvement in systemic amyloidosis is common,but is often subclinical or presents as vague and nonspecific symptoms.It is rare for gastrointestinal symptoms to be the main presenting symptom in patients with systemic amyloidosis,causing it to be undiagnosed until late-stage disease.CASE SUMMARY A 53 year-old man with diarrhea,hematochezia,and weight loss presented to a community hospital.Colonoscopy with biopsy at that time was suspicious for Crohn disease.Due to worsening symptoms including nausea,vomiting,and a new petechial rash,an abdominal fat pad biopsy was done.The biopsy showed papillary and adnexal dermal amyloid deposition,in a pattern usually seen with cutaneous amyloidosis.However,Cytokeratin 5/6 was negative,excluding cutaneous amyloidosis.The patterns of nodular amyloidosis,subcutaneous amyloid deposits and perivascular amyloid were not seen.Periodic Acid-Schiff stain was negative for lipoid proteinosis,Congo red was positive for apple green birefringence on polarization and amyloid typing confirmed amyloid light chain amyloidosis.Repeat endoscopic biopsies of the gastrointestinal tract showed amyloid deposition from the esophagus to the rectum,in a pattern usually seen in serum amyloid A in the setting of chronic inflammatory diseases,including severe inflammatory bowel disease.Bone marrow biopsy showed kappa-restricted plasma cell neoplasm.CONCLUSION Described is an unusual presentation of primary systemic amyloidosis,highlighting the risk of misdiagnosis with subsequent significant organ dysfunction and high mortality.Shawna E Bilton Nikhil Shah Diana Dougherty Sarah Simpson Alex Holliday Farhad Sahebjam Douglas J Grider 2022World Journal of Clinical Cases2022,10,28:0
