1Assessment of the Ecological Security in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area by Using the Ecological Footprint Method显示文摘The ecological footprint concept and its calculation models are useful for the measurement of the sustainable level of social and economic development.The ecological security situation of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area(TGRA) was evaluated using this concept in this study.The construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir has led to the change in the ecology and immigration status of TGRA.The ecological footprint method is an important means to study the regional ecological security.Our results suggested that,by excluding the areas for biodiversity conservation(12% of the total land),the ecological footprint per capita was 0.57895 ha,which exceeded the ecological carrying capacity in TGRA.The total ecological deficit was found to be 11,522,193.34 ha,accounting for 95.02% of the ecological carrying capacity.These findings suggested that the ecological security of TGRA was not good.In order to compensate for the ecological deficit,it was essential to introduce natural resources from other regions.WANG Haiming WANG Hai'e SUN Hongyang WANG Xiaolan LIAO Xiaoyong CHEN Zhijian LI Xianwei 2012Journal of Mountain Science2012,9,6:9
2Soil phosphorus bioavailability assessed by XANES and Hedley sequential fractionation technique in a glacier foreland chronosequence in Gongga Mountain, Southwestern China显示文摘The primary productivity of terrestrial ecosystems is influenced by soil phosphorus bioavailability, which depends largely on chemical fractions of phosphorus. The sequential fractionation technique developed by Hedley et al. or its subsequent modification is a well-known method to determine soil phosphorus forms. Hedley sequential fractionation technique separates the phosphorus into fractions based on their different chemical solubilities in extractants with certain chemical properties. Recently, synchrotron-based X-ray absorption near edge structure(XANES) spectroscopy has been employed to measure soil phosphorus species directly and non-invasively. The XANES method provides information concerning local structure and chemical information of target elements at a molecular level. Thus, it can distinguish phosphorus fractions bound by metal oxides or hydroxides(such as Fe, Al, and Ca). In this present work, the phosphorus speciation of topsoil along a glacial foreland chronosequence in Gongga Mountain is determined using these two methods. The changes in soil phosphorus bioavailability along the 120-year-old chronosequence are assessed based on comparisons of the results obtained by these two methods. The results indicate that Hedley sequential fractionation technique shows a greater ability to determine soil bioavailable phosphorus(Resin-P and NaCHO3-P), while XANES is effective in distinguishing phosphorus bound by metal compounds. In the chronosequence, Ca- and Al-bound phosphorus were derived mainly from primary minerals, whose phosphorus contents decreased within 120 years of moraine weathering and soil development. The content of soil bioavailable phosphorus increased rapidly after 30 years since deglaciation. 4Classification and 3-D distribution of upper layer water masses in the northern South China Sea显示文摘Using the fuzzy cluster analysis and the temperature-salinity(T-S) similarity number analysis of cruise conductivity-temperature-depth(CTD) data in the upper layer(0–300 m) of the northern South China Sea(NSCS), we classify the upper layer water of the NSCS into six water masses: diluted water(D), surface water(SS),the SCS subsurface water mass(U_S), the Pacific Ocean subsurface water mass(U_P), surface-subsurface mixed water(SU) and subsurface-intermediate mixed water(UI). A new stacked stereogram is used to illustrate the water mass distribution, and to examine the source and the distribution of U_P, combining with the sea surface height data and geostrophic current field. The results show that water mass U_P exists in all four seasons with the maximum range in spring and the minimum range in summer. In spring and winter, the U_P intrudes into the Luzon Strait and the southwest of Taiwan Island via the northern Luzon Strait in the form of nonlinear Rossby eddies, and forms a high temperature and high salinity zone east of the Dongsha Islands. In summer, the U_P is sporadically distributed in the study area. 5α-Synuclein aggregation and transmission in Parkinson’s disease: a link to mitochondria and lysosome显示文摘The presence of intraneuronal Lewy bodies(LBs) and Lewy neurites(LNs) in the substantia nigra(SN) composed of aggregatedα-synuclein(α-syn) has been recognized as a hallmark of pathological changes in Parkinson’s disease(PD). Numerous studies have shown that aggregated α-syn is necessary for neurotoxicity. Meanwhile, the mitochondrial and lysosomal dysfunctions are associated with α-syn pathogenicity. The hypothesis that α-syn transmission in the human brain contributes to the instigation and progression of PD has provided insights into PD pathology. 6Development of Cryogenic Disinfectants Using in-18℃and-40℃Environments—Worldwide,2021显示文摘Introduction:Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in Beijing Xinfadi Wholesale Market,a series of COVID-19 outbreaks has indicated the threat of transmission due to outer surfaces of objects under low temperatures.Therefore,2 kinds of chlorine-containing disinfectants for−18℃and−40℃were developed in order to solve the problem of low temperature disinfection.Methods:The properties of two cryogenic disinfectants were evaluated by low-temperature test.Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were used as two indicator microorganisms to evaluate the effects of the two cryogenic disinfectants in the laboratory and field tests according to Technical Specifications for Disinfection(2002 version)and Test method for bactericidal effect of disinfectants in laboratory(GB/T 38502-2020).Results:Two disinfectants could remain in the liquid state at−18℃or−40℃in 72 hours without crystallization and precipitation,and the average log values of microbial reduction before and after disinfection(the average killing log value)both on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were>3 in the laboratory and field tests.Discussion:The results showed that these two disinfectants remained functional at low temperature to disinfect the packaging of imported cold chain food and surrounding packaging to prevent transmission of COVID-19 from material to people.Huihui Sun Hongyang Duan Wei Zhang Chen Liang Luyao Li Yuan Lyu Yanyan Chen Jin Shen Liubo Zhang 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,13:4
7Poly-PR in C9ORF72-Related Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis/Frontotemporal Dementia Causes Neurotoxicity by Clathrin-Dependent Endocytosis显示文摘GGGGCC repeat expansions in the C9 ORF72 gene are the most common cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia(c9 ALS/FTD). It has been reported that hexanucleotide repeat expansions in C9 ORF72 produce five dipeptide repeat(DPR) proteins by an unconventional repeat-associated non-ATG(RAN)translation. Within the five DPR proteins, poly-PR and poly-GR that contain arginine are more toxic than the other DPRs(poly-GA, poly-GP, and poly-PA). Here, we demonstrated that poly-PR peptides transferred into cells by endocytosis in a clathrin-dependent manner, leading to endoplasmic reticulum stress and cell death. In SH-SY5 Y cells and primary cortical neurons, poly-PR activated JUN amino-terminal kinase(JNK) and increased the levels of p53 and Bax. The uptake of poly-PR peptides by cells was significantly inhibited by knockdown of clathrin or by chlorpromazine, an inhibitor that blocks clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Inhibition of clathrin-dependent endocytosis by chlorpromazine significantly blocked the transfer of poly-PR peptides into cells, and attenuated poly-PRinduced JNK activation and cell death. 8m6A RNA methylation-mediated HNF3γreduction renders hepatocellular carcinoma dedifferentiation and sorafenib resistance显示文摘Hepatocyte nuclear factor 3γ(HNF3γ)is a hepatocyte nuclear factor,but its role and clinical significance in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remain unclear.Herein,we report that HNF3γexpression is downregulated in patient HCC and inversely correlated with HCC malignancy and patient survival.Moreover,our data suggested that the HNF3γreduction in HCC could be mediated by METTL14-dependent m6A methylation of HNF3γmRNA.HNF3γexpression was increased during hepatic differentiation and decreased in dedifferentiated HCC cells.Interestingly,HNF3γdelivery promoted differentiation of not only HCC cells but also liver CSCs,which led to suppression of HCC growth.Mechanistic analysis suggested an HNF3γ-centered regulatory network that includes essential liver differentiation-associated transcription factors and functional molecules,which could synergistically facilitate HCC cell differentiation.More importantly,enforced HNF3γexpression sensitized HCC cells to sorafenib-induced growth inhibition and cell apoptosis through transactivation of OATP1B1 and OATP1B3 expression,which are major membrane transporters for sorafenib uptake.Clinical investigation showed that patient-derived HCC xenografts with high HNF3γexpression exhibited a sorafenib response and patients with high HCC HNF3γlevels benefited from sorafenib therapy.Together,these results suggest that HNF3γplays an essential role in HCC differentiation and may serve as a therapeutic target and predictor of sorafenib benefit in patients.Tengfei Zhou Shichao Li Daimin Xiang Junyu Liu Wen Sun Xiuliang Cui Beifang Ning Xiao Li Zhuo Cheng Weiqi Jiang Cheng Zhang Xijun Liang Liang Li Xin Cheng Liu Hui Hongyang Wang Jin Ding 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:4
9Concave Cu-Pd bimetallic nanocrystals: Ligand-based Co-reduction and mechanistic study显示文摘The synthesis of highly uniform alloy nanocrystals with a concave feature is desirable for applications in catalysis but is an arduous task. This article proposes an initiative protocol for the fabrication of novel Cu-Pd alloy nanocrystals, wherein the volume of decylamine (DA) in the reaction system was found to greatly influence the formation of different morphologies, including the tetrahedron (TH), concave tetrahedron (CTH), rhombohedral-tetrapod (RTP), and tetrapod (TP). The alloy structure of the products arises from the coordination interaction between the DA and metal ions, which affects the reduction potential of Cu and Pd species, and thus yields co-reduction. Other reaction parameters, such as the type of ligand, amount of reductant, and temperature, were also altered to study the growth mechanism, yielding consistent conclusions in the diffusion-controlled regime. 10Conversion of hepatoma cells to hepatocyte-like cells by defined hepatocyte nuclear factors显示文摘Normal cells become cancer cells after a malignant transformation,but whether cancer cells can be reversed to normal status remains elusive.Here,we report that the combination of hepatocyte nuclear factor IA (HNFIA),HNF4A and forkhead box protein A3 (FOXA3)synergistically reprograms hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)cells to hepatocyte-like cells (reprogrammed hepatocytes, rHeps).Our results show that rHeps lose the malignant phenotypes of cancer cells and retrieve hepatocyte-specific characteristics including hepatocyte-like morphology;global expression pattern of genes and specific biomarkers of hepatocytes;and the unique hepatic functions of albumin (ALB)secretion,glycogen synthesis,low-density lipoprotein (LDL)uptake,urea production, cytochrome P450 enzymes induction and drug metabolism.Intratumoral injection of these three factors efficiently shrank patientderived tumor xenografts and reprogrammed HCC cells in vivo.Most importantly,transplantation of rHeps in the liver of fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase-deficient (Fah^-/-)mice led to the reconstruction of hepatic lobules and the restoration of hepatic function.Mechanistically,exogenous expression of HNF1A,HNF4A and FOXA3 in HCC cells initiated the endogenous expression of numerous hepatocyte nuclear factors,which promoted the conversion of HCC cells to hepatocyte-like cells.Collectively,our results indicate the successful conversion of hepatoma cells to hepatocyte-like cells,not only extending our current knowledge of cell reprogramming but also providing a route towards a novel therapeutic strategy for cancer.Zhuo Cheng Zhiying He Yongchao Cai Cheng Zhang Gongbo Fu Hengyu Li Wen Sun Changcheng Liu Xiuliang Cui Beifang Ning Daimin Xiang Tengfei Zhou Xiaofeng Li Weifen Xie Hongyang Wang Jin Ding 2019Cell Research2019,29,2:3

12Comprehensive analysis of miRNA-gene regulatory network with clinical significance in human cancers显示文摘microRNAs(miRNAs),particularly the exosomal miRNAs have been widely used as biomarkers and promising therapeutic targets in cancer.However,a comprehensive analysis of miRNA-gene regulatory network with clinical significance remains scarce.The emergence of high-throughput multi-omics data over large,well-characterized patient cohorts provides an unprecedented opportunity to address this problem.Herein,we performed a clinic-centered analysis to identify cancer-associated miRNAs,miRNA-target axis.We first calculated the correlation among miRNA,mRNA and 75 unique clinico-pathological characteristics(CPCs)in 26 cancer types,and established an online resource(4CR).Interestingly,we found that the high expression of several DNA methylation-related enzymes was associated with adverse outcomes of cancer patients,and these genes were regulated by a cluster of miRNAs.Furthermore,by integrating exosomal miRNA and m RNA databases,we identified exosomal miRNA biomarkers for non-invasive cancer surveillance and therapy monitoring.Finally,we explored the role of CPC-related miRNAs for therapeutic effect prediction of drugs based on their shared targets.Our analysis pipeline illustrated the significance of clinic-centered analysis in miRNA-gene pair identification and provided helpful clues for future cancer studies.Xiuliang Cui Yang Liu Wen Sun Jin Ding Xiaochen Bo Hongyang Wang 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,8:2

14Strongly coupled Te-SnS_(2)/MXene superstructure with self-autoadjustable function for fast and stable potassium ion storage显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(PIBs)are a promising candidate for next-generation electric energy storage applications because of the abundance and low cost of potassium.However,the development of PIBs is limited by sluggish kinetics and huge volume expansion of anodes,leading to poor rate capability and cycling stability.Herein,an advanced superstructure anode,including Te-doped SnS_(2) nanosheets uniformly anchored on MXene surface(Te-SnS_(2)/MXene),is rationally designed for the first time to boost K^(+)storage performance.Featuring with strong interface interaction and self-autoadjustable interlayer spacings,the Te-SnS_(2)/MXene can efficiently accelerate electron/ion transfer,accommodate volume expansion,inhibit crack formation,and improve pseudocapacitive contribution during cycling.Thus,the novel Te-SnS_(2)/MXene anode delivers a high reversible capacity(343.2 mAh g^(-1) after 50 cycles at0.2 A g^(-1)),outstanding rate capability(186.4 mAh g^(-1) at 20 A g^(-1)),long cycle stability(165.8 mAh g^(-1)after 5000 cycles at 10 A g^(-1) with a low electrode swelling rate of only 15.4%),and reliable operation in flexible full battery.The present Te-SnS_(2)/MXene becomes among the best transition metal-based anode materials for PIBs reported to date.Hongyang Sun Yelong Zhang Xiaodan Xu Jianwen Zhou Fan Yang Hao Li Hao Chen Yucheng Chen Zheng Liu Zhenping Qiu Da Wang Lipo Ma Jiawei Wang Qingguang Zeng Zhangquan Peng 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,10:2

16Recovery of yttrium from deep-sea mud显示文摘Deep-sea mud rich in rare earth yttrium has received lots of attention from the international community as a new resource for Y. A novel process, which mainly includes acid leaching, solvent extraction, and oxalic acid precipitation-roasting, is proposed for recovery of Y from deep-sea mud. A series of experiments were conducted to inspect the impacts of various factors during the process and the optimum conditions were determined. The results show that the Y of deep-sea mud totally exists in apatite minerals which can be decomposed by hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid solution. The highest leaching efficiency of Y is 94.53% using hydrochloric acid and 84.38% using sulfuric acid under the conditions of H^+concentration 2.0 mol/L, leaching time 60 min, liquid-solid ratio 4:1 and room temperature 25 ℃(only in case of sulfuric acid, when using hydrochloric acid, the leaching temperature should be 60 ℃). Because of the much lower leaching temperature, sulfuric acid leaching is preferred. The counter current extraction and stripping tests were simulated by a cascade centrifugal extraction tank device. Using 10 vol% P204,15 vol% TBP and 75 vol% sulfonated kerosene as extractant, 98.79% Y^(3+) and 42.60% Fe^(3+) are extracted from sulfuric acid leaching liquor(adjusted to pH = 2.0) after seven-stage counter current extraction with O/A ratio of 1:1 at room temperature, while other metals ions such as Al^(3+), Ca^(2+), Mg^(2+)and Mn^(2+) are almost not extracted. The Y^(3+) in loaded organic can be selectively stripped using 50 g/L sulfuric acid solution and the stripping efficiency reaches 99.86% after seven-stage counter current stripping with O/A ratio of 10:1 at room temperature, while only 2.26% co-extracted Fe^(3+) is stripped. The Y^(3+) of loaded strip liquor can be precipitated by oxalic acid to further separate Y^(3+) and Fe^(3+). The precipitation efficiency of Y^(3+) in loaded strip liquor can be 98.56% while Fe^(3+) is not precipitated under the conditions of oxalic acid solution concentration 200 g/L, quality ratio of oxalic acid to Y of 2, and precipitation time 0.5 h. 18Air-drying changes the distribution of Hedley phosphorus pools in forest soils显示文摘Hedley labile phosphorus(P)pools in soil tend to be several times larger than annual forest requirements,even in highly weathered soils characterized by P limitation.The discrepancy between plant and soil P status could be partly attributable to the frequently adopted air-drying pretreatment that tends to increase soil P solubility.In this study,the effects of air-drying on the distribution of Hedley P fractions were examined using soils collected under 4 forest types at Gongga Mountain,southwestern China.The results showed that the microbial biomass P(Pmic)in the organic horizon decreased markedly after air-drying.The concentrations of Hedley labile P in the air-dried samples were 31%–73%more than those in the field-moist samples.Consequently,the air-drying-induced increments of Hedley labile P pools in the surface soil horizons were 0.8–3.8 times the annual plant P requirements.The organic horizon was more susceptible to the air-drying-induced increases in Hedley labile P than the mineral horizon,probably because of the stronger release of Pmicand disruption of soil organic matter.The quality of P,indexed by the ratio of Hedley labile P to slowly cycling P,shifted in favor of the Hedley labile fractions after air-drying,further revealing that air-drying changed the distribution of Hedley P pools in forest soils.These indicated that the effects of air-drying could not be ignored when interpreting the discrepancy between the P status of plants and the Hedley labile P pools in forest soils.To more efficiently evaluate the P status in forest soils via the Hedley fractionation procedure,the use of field-moist soils is recommended.Jipeng WANG Yanhong WU Jun ZHOU Haijian BING Hongyang SUN Ji LUO Shengyan PU 2020Pedosphere2020,30,2:1

20Pre-research on Enhanced Heat Transfer Method for Special Vehicles at High Altitude Based on Machine Learning显示文摘The performance of an integrated thermal management system signi?cantly in?uences the stability of special-purpose vehicles;thus,enhancing the heat transfer of the radiator is of great signi?cance.Common research methods for radiators include?uid mechanics numerical simulations and experimental measurements,both of which are time-consuming and expensive.Applying the surrogate model to the analysis of the?ow and heat transfer in louvered?ns can effectively reduce the computational cost and obtain more data.A simpli?ed louvered-?n heat transfer unit was established,and computational?uid dynamics(CFD)simulations were conducted to obtain the?ow and heat transfer characteristics of the geometric structure.A three-factor and six-level orthogonal design was established with three structural parameters:angleθ,length a,and pitch L_p of the louvered?ns.The results of the orthogonal design were subjected to a range analysis,and the effects of the three parametersθ,a,and L_p on the j,f,and JF factors were obtained.Accordingly,a proxy model of the heat transfer performance for louvered?ns was established based onthe arti?cial neural network algorithm,and the model was trained with the data obtained by the orthogonal design.Finally,the?n structure with the largest JF factor was realized.Compared with the original model,the optimizedmodel improved the heat transfer factor j by 2.87%,decreased the friction factor f by 30.4%,and increased the comprehensive factor JF by 15.7%.Chunming Li Xiaoxia Sun Hongyang Gao Yu Zhang 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2023,36,2:1
