| 5 | A viral protein orchestrates rice ethylene signaling to coordinate viral infection and insect vector-mediated transmission显示文摘Arthropod-borne viruses cause serious threats to human health and global agriculture by rapidly spreading via insect vectors. Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) is the most damaging rice-infecting virus that is frequently transmitted by planthoppers. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying its propagation in the host plants and epidemics in the field are largely unknown. Here, we showed that the SRBSDV-encoded P6 protein is a key effector that regulates rice ethylene signaling to coordinate viral infection and transmission. In early SRBSDV infection, P6 interacts with OsRTH2 in the cytoplasm to activate ethylene signaling and enhance SRBSDV proliferation;this also repels the insect vector to reduce infestation. In late infection, P6 enters the nucleus, where it interacts with OsEIL2, a key transcription factor of ethylene signaling. The P6-OsEIL2 interaction suppresses ethylene signaling by preventing the dimerization of OsEIL2, thereby facilitating viral transmission by attracting the insect vector. | 6 | Fabrication of sharp silicon hollow microneedles by deep-reactive ion etching towards minimally invasive diagnostics显示文摘Microneedle technologies have the potential for expanding the capabilities of wearable health monitoring from physiology to biochemistry.This paper presents the fabrication of silicon hollow microneedles by a deep-reactive ion etching(DRIE)process,with the aim of exploring the feasibility of microneedle-based in-vivo monitoring of biomarkers in skin fluid.Such devices shall have the ability to allow the sensing elements to be integrated either within the needle borehole or on the backside of the device,relying on capillary filling of the borehole with dermal interstitial fluid(ISF)for transporting clinically relevant biomarkers to the sensor sites.The modified DRIE process was utilized for the anisotropic etching of circular holes with diameters as small as 30μm to a depth of>300μm by enhancing ion bombardment to efficiently remove the fluorocarbon passivation polymer.Afterward,isotropic wet and/or dry etching was utilized to sharpen the needle due to faster etching at the pillar top,achieving tip radii as small as 5μm.Such sharp microneedles have been demonstrated to be sufficiently robust to penetrate porcine skin without needing any aids such as an impact-insertion applicator,with the needles remaining mechanically intact after repetitive penetrations.The capillary filling of DRIE-etched through-wafer holes with water has also been demonstrated,showing the feasibility of use to transport the analyte to the target sites. | Yan Li Hang Zhang Ruifeng Yang Yohan Laffitte Ulises Schmill Wenhan Hu Moufeed Kaddoura Eric J.M.Blondeel Bo Cui | 2019 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2019,5,1: | 4 |
| 7 | Mn–Co–Ni–O thin films prepared by sputtering with alloy target显示文摘The thin film of heat-sensitive materials has been widely concerned with the current trend of miniaturization and integration of sensors.In this work,Mn1.56 Co0.96 Ni0.48 O4(MCNO)thin films were prepared on Si O2/Si substrates by sputtering with Mn–Co–Ni alloy target and then annealing in air at different temperatures(650–900℃).The X-ray diffraction(XRD)and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)analysis indicated that the main crystalline phase of MCNO thin films was spinel crystal structure;the surface of the thin films was very dense and uniform.The electrical properties of the thin films were studied in the temperature range of–5–50℃.The MCNO thin film with a low room temperature resistance R25 of 71.1 kΩand a high thermosensitive constant B value of 3305 K was obtained at 750℃.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis showed that the concentration of Mn3+and Mn4+cations in MCNO thin films is the highest when annealing temperature is 750℃.The complex impedance analysis revealed internal conduction mechanism of the MCNO thin film and the resistance of the thin film was dominated by grain boundary resistance. | Ruifeng LI Qiuyun FU Xiaohua ZOU Zhiping ZHENG Wei LUO Liang YAN | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,1: | 3 |

| 9 | Determination of Fe,Ni,Cu,Zn,Cd and Pb in seawater by isotope dilution automatic solid-phase extraction—ICP-MS显示文摘A thorough understanding of the biogeochemical cycling of trace metals in the ocean is crucial because of the important role these elements play in regulating metabolism in marine biotas and thus,the climate.However,a precise and accurate analysis of trace metals in seawater is difficult because they are present at extremely low concentrations in a high salt matrix.In this study,we report an analytical method for the preconcentration and separation of six trace metals,Fe,Ni,Cu,Zn,Cd and Pb,in seawater using a sea FAST automatic solid-phase extraction device,analysis by a triple quadrupole collision/reaction technique with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS),and quantification by the isotope dilution technique.A small volume(10 m L)of seawater sample was mixed with a multi-element isotope spike and subjected to sea FAST procedures.The preconcentrate solution was then analyzed using the optimized collision/reaction cell mode of ICP-MS,with NH_(3)gas for Fe and Cd with a flow rate of 0.22 m L/min and He for Ni,Cu,Zn and Pb with a flow rate of 4.0 m L/min.The procedure blanks were 130 pmol/L,3.0 pmol/L,6.8 pmol/L,37 pmol/L,0.29 pmol/L and 0.42 pmol/L,for Fe,Ni,Cu,Zn,Cd and Pb,respectively.The method was validated using five reference materials(SLRs-6,SLEW-3,CASS-6,NASS-7 and GEOTRACE-GSC),and our results were consistent with the consensus values.The method was further validated by measuring full-water-column seawater samples from the subtropical Northwest Pacific Ocean,and our results demonstrated good oceanic consistency. | Yuncong Ge Ruifeng Zhang Ziyuan Jiang Zhan Shen Maojun Yan | 2022 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,8: | 3 |
| 10 | One-step synthesis of dimethyl ether from syngas on ordered mesoporous copper incorporated alumina显示文摘Ordered mesoporous copper incorporated Al_2O_3(Cu/Al_2O_3) with high Cu dispersion were prepared by a facile solution combustion synthesis method using aluminum nitrate and copper nitrate as oxidants and urea as fuel. It is a facile and green route to synthesize catalysts for dimethyl ether directly from syngas. Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts were characterized by XRD, N_2 adsorption–desorption, SEM-EDS, and H_2-TPR.The results indicate that the catalysts obtain an ordered mesoporous structure and copper is homogenously dispersed. The mesoporous Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts were utilized as bifunctional catalysts in syngas to dimethyl ether reaction(STD). The copper content affects the catalytic performance in STD reaction. The CO conversion and DME selectivity of Cu/Al_2O_3 with 15% copper molar ratio achieve 52.9% and 66.1%,respectively.
