1What is the quantitative risk of gastric cancer in the first-degree relatives of patients? A meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To quantify the risk of gastric cancer in first-degree relatives of patients with the cancer. METHODS A comprehensive literature search was performed. Case-control trials comparing the frequency of a positive family history of gastric cancer in patients with gastric cancer, vs non-gastric cancer controls were retrieved. Studies with missed or non-extractable data, studies in children, abstracts, and duplicate publications were excluded. A meta-analysis of pooled odd ratios was performed using Review Manager 5.0.25. We performed subgroup analysis on Asian studies and a sensitivity analysis based on the quality of the studies, type of the outcome, sample size, and whether studies considered only first-degree relatives. RESULTS Thirty-two relevant studies out of 612 potential abstracts(n = 80690 individuals) were included. 19.0% of the patients and 10.9% of the controls had at least one relative with gastric cancer(P < 0.00001). The pooled relative risk for the development of gastric cancer in association with a positive family history was 2.35(95%CI: 1.96-2.81). The Cochran Q test for heterogeneity was positive(P < 0.00001, I 2 = 92%). After excluding the three outlier studies with the highest relative risks, heterogeneity remained significant(P < 0.00001, I 2 = 90%). The result was not different among Asian studies as compared to others and remained robust in several sensitivity analyses. In the 26 studies which exclusively analysed the history of gastric cancer in first-degree relatives, the relative risk was 2.71(95%CI: 2.08-3.53; P < 0.00001). CONCLUSION Individuals with a first-degree relative affected with gastric cancer have a risk of about 2.5-fold for the development of gastric cancer. This could be due to genetic or environmental factors. 3磺酸基修饰的纳米Fe_3O_4包覆二氧化硅颗粒作为可磁分离催化剂高效催化芳香醛与1,3-环二酮的Knoevenagel缩合反应和Michael加成反应(英文)显示文摘Sulfonic acid-functionalized silica-coated nano-Fe3O4 particles(Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H) have been prepared as a novel heterogeneous acid using a facile process.The material was subsequently identified as an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of a variety of tetraketone derivatives via the Knoevenagel condensation and Michael addition reactions of aromatic aldehydes to dimedone,1,3-indanedione,and 1,3-dimethyl barbituric acid.The catalyst could be readily recovered using a simple external magnet and reused several times without any significant loss in activity.The current catalytic process is both sustainable and economical because it operates under aqueous conditions,the catalyst can be recovered and reused,and the reactions themselves require only a short time and provide the products in high yield.Firouzeh NEMATI Majid M.HERAVI Raheleh SAEEDI RAD 2012催化学报2012,33,11:4
4Pathophysiology of autism spectrum disorders:Revisiting gastrointestinal involvement and immune imbalance显示文摘Autism spectrum disorders(ASD)comprise a group of neurodevelopmental abnormalities that begin in early childhood and are characterized by impairment of social communication and behavioral problems including restricted interests and repetitive behaviors.Several genes have been implicated in the pathogenesis of ASD,most of them are involved in neuronal synaptogenesis.A number of environmental factors and associated conditions such as gastrointestinal(GI)abnormalities and immune imbalance have been linked to the pathophysiology of ASD.According to the March 2012 report released by United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,the prevalence of ASD has sharply increased during the recent years and one out of 88 children suffers now from ASD symptoms.Although there is a strong genetic base for the disease,several associated factors could have a direct link to the pathogenesis of ASD or act as modifiers of the genes thus aggravating the initial problem.Many children suffering from ASD have GI problems such as abdominal pain,chronic diarrhea,constipation,vomiting,gastroesophageal reflux,and intestinal infections.A number of studies focusing on the intestinal mucosa,its permeability,abnormal gut development,leaky gut,and other GI problem raised many questions but studies were somehow inconclusive and an expert panel of American Academy of Pediatrics has strongly recommended further investigation in these areas.GI tract has a direct connection with the immune system and an imbalanced immune response is usually seen in ASD children.Maternal infection or autoimmune diseases have been suspected.Activation of the immune system during early development may have deleterious effect on various organs including the nervous system.In this review we revisited briefly the GI and immune system abnormalities and neuropeptide imbalance and their role in the pathophysiology of ASD and discussed some future research directions.Mohtashem Samsam Raheleh Ahangari Saleh A Naser 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,29:3

6Influence of MBBR carrier geometrical properties and biofilm thickness restraint on biofilm properties,effluent particle size distribution,settling velocity distribution,and settling behaviour显示文摘The relatively poor settling characteristics of particles produced in moving bed biofilm reactor(MBBR)outline the importance of developing a fundamental understanding of the characterization and settleability of MBBR-produced solids.The influence of carrier geometric properties and different levels of biofilm thickness on biofilm characteristics,solids production,particle size distribution(PSD),and particle settling velocity distribution(PSVD)is evaluated in this study.The analytical Vi CAs method is applied to the MBBR effluent to assess the distribution of particle settling velocities.This method is combined with microscopy imaging to relate particle size distribution to settling velocity.Three conventionally loaded MBBR systems are studied at a similar loading rate of 6.0 g/(m^(2)·day)and with different carrier types.The AnoxK^(TM)K5 carrier,a commonly used carrier,is compared to so-called thickness-restraint carriers,AnoxK^(TM)Z-carriers that are newly designed carriers to limit the biofilm thickness.Moreover,two levels of biofilm thickness,200μm and 400μm,are studied using AnoxK^(TM)Z-200 and Z-400 carriers.Statistical analysis confirms that K5 carriers demonstrated a significantly different biofilm mass,thickness,and density,in addition to distinct trends in PSD and PSVD in comparison with Z-carriers.However,in comparison of thickness-restraint carriers,Z-200 carrier results did not vary significantly compared to the Z-400 carrier.The K5 carriers showed the lowest production of suspended solids(0.7±0.3 gTSS/day),thickest biofilm(281.1±8.7μm)and lowest biofilm density(65.0±1.5 kg/m^(3)).The K5 effluent solids also showed enhanced settling behaviour,consisting of larger particles with faster settling velocities.Raheleh Arabgol Peter A.Vanrolleghem Robert Delatolla 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12:2

In this method SnCl2/nano SiO2was used as green and reusable catalyst. 9High entropy fluorides as conversion cathodes with tailorable electrochemical performance显示文摘With the recent development of high entropy materials, an alternative approach to develop advanced functional materials with distinctive properties that show improved values compared to conventional materials has been provided. The high entropy concept was later successfully transferred to metal fluorides and high entropy fluorides(HEFs) were successfully synthesized. Owing to their high theoretical specific capacities in energy storage applications, HEFs were utilized as cathode materials for lithiumion batteries(LIBs) and their underlying storage mechanisms were investigated. Instead of a step-bystep reduction of each individual metal cation, the HEFs seem to exhibit a single-step reduction process,indicating a solid solution compound instead of merely a mixture of different metal fluorides. It was also observed that the electrochemical behavior of the HEFs depends on each individual incorporated element. Therefore, by altering the elemental composition, new materials that exhibit improved electrochemical properties can be designed. 10Texosome-based drug delivery system for cancer therapy: from past to present显示文摘Rising worldwide cancer incidence and resistance to current anti-cancer drugs necessitate the need for new pharmaceutical compounds and drug delivery system. Malfunction of the immune system, particularly in the tumor microenvironment, causes tumor growth and enhances tumor progression. Thus, cancer immunotherapy can be an appropriate approach to provoke the systemic immune system to combat tumor expansion. Texosomes, which are endogenous nanovesicles released by all tumor cells, contribute to cell-cell communication and modify the phenotypic features of recipient cells due to the texosomes' ability to transport biological components. For this reason, texosome-based delivery system can be a valuable strategy for therapeutic purposes. To improve the pharmaceutical behavior of this system and to facilitate its use in medical applications, biotechnology approaches and mimetic techniques have been utilized.
