| 1 | Focal depths for moderate-sized aftershocks of the Wenchuan M_S8.0 earthquake and their implications显示文摘Sliding-window cross-correlation method is firstly adopted to identify sPn phase, and to constrain focal depth from regional seismograms, by measuring the time separation between sPn and Pn phases. We present the focal depths of the 17 moderate-sized aftershocks (MS≥5.0) of the Wenchuan MS8.0 earth-quake, using the data recorded by the regional seismic broadband networks of Shaanxi, Qinghai, Gansu, Yunnan and Sichuan. Our results show focal depths of aftershocks range from 8 to 20 km, and tend to cluster at two average depths, separate at 32.5°N, i.e., 11 km to the south and 17 km to the north, indicating that these aftershocks are origin of upper-to-middle crust. | 2 | Differential patterns of SH and P wave velocity structures in the transition zone beneath northwestern Tibet显示文摘Triplicate waveform modeling is used to resolve SH (Vs) and P (Vp ) wave velocity structures in the upper mantle transition zone (TZ) beneath northwestern (NW) Tibet. Focal depth move out stacking is proposed to enhance the identification of triplicate phases, and can be used to test consistency of our data. Our results show that the Vs and Vp structures are decorrelated, and that a large Vs jump occurred across the 660-km discontinuity, with a small Vs gradient above it. Conversely, the Vp model is characterized by a relatively small contrast across the discontinuity, accompanied by a high Vp gradient in the TZ. There seem no significant depth anomalies of the 660-km discontinuity in both models. The seismic structure in TZ beneath NW Tibet are similar to recent studies beneath the central Qiangtang and western Lhasa terrains. Taking the lower TZ structures under India as references, Vs is normal but Vp appears slightly high, and thus a high ratio of Vp/Vs was indicated beneath NW Tibet. Combined results with experiment information from mineral studies, we suggest that the differential anomalies of Vp and Vs can be attributed to a chemical heterogeneity, such as increased Al content in the lower TZ. | 9 | Regulation of RNA methylation and immune infiltration patterns by m5C regulators in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘5-Methylcytosine(m5C)methylation contributes to the development and progression of various malignant tumors.This study aimed to explore the potential role of m5C methylation regulators(m5CMRs)in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).Methods:The transcription data of HNSCC samples were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)databases.Subsequently,the m5C patterns in HNSCC were evaluated based on 14 m5CMRs.Then,the m5Cscore was developed to quantify m5C patterns by using principal component analysis(PCA)algorithms.Two single-cell RNA sequencing datasets and various methods were employed to assess the prognostic value and sensitivity to immunotherapy.Finally,key prognostic m5CMRs were identified using univariate COX regression analysis,and their clinical significance was validated based on the Human Protein Atlas(HPA)database and by using immunohistochemistry.Results:Two distinct m5C clusters were identified.m5C cluster A is characterized by an immune-activated microenvironment and is associated with a favorable prognosis.Notable differences were observed in prognosis,immune infiltration,and immunotherapy response between the high-and low-m5Cscore groups.Patients in the high-m5Cscore group exhibited high TMB,which is correlated with poor prognosis.The m5Cscore of epithelial cells in HNSCC was higher than that in other cells.Key prognostic m5CMRs,including NSUN2,DNMT3B,ALKBH1,and Y-Box Binding Protein 1(YBX1),were associated with poor prognosis.Conclusion:Our research indicates that in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma,the m5C modification profoundly affects the TME’s diversity and complexity,influencing prognosis and the success of immunotherapy.Targeting m5C regulatory elements may be a new method for enhancing the efficacy of immunotherapy in HNSCC. | SHIDA HOU TIANJUN LAN YAOCHENG YANG PEISHENG LIANG XIN LIU JUNJIE WANG ZHIFENG CHEN RONGSHENG ZENG ZIJING HUANG | 2023 | BIOCELL2023,47,12: | 0 |
| 10 | Clinical outcomes of ATP-tumor chemosensitivity assay directed chemotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘This study aims to investigate the clinical response of ATP tumor chemosensitivity assay(ATP-TCA)directed chemotherapy regimens delivered via hepatic artery infusion in 104 cases of primary liver carcinoma(PLC).Tumor tissue was obtained via laparotomy and cultivated in vitro.This tissue was put through the assay to determine chemosensitivity.A single drug regimen of either 5-FU,MMC and ADM and a combination drug regimen were used.The treatment assigned was dependent on the result of the ATP-TCA.In the control group,30 cases of diagnosed PLC were given the conventional three-combination drug.The two groups were evaluated after three courses of chemotherapy.The results are as follows.The overall response rate of sensitivity test ranged from 36%to 44%in the single drug therapy groups and 81%in the combination drug group.The clinical overall response rate was 75%in the treatment group and 56%in control group.The treatment group had better results than the control group as survival period over six months was 80% and over one year 44%.In the control group,survival period over six months was 60% and 30% over one year.In short,ATP-TCA directed chemotherapy shows better results for terminal stages of PLC in that you can decrease the dose of drugs thereby reducing the side-effects with possible improvements in therapeutic effects. | RAO Rongsheng CHEN Wenxue ZHOU Xinwen ZHOU Zheng LI Xiaojun ZENG Zhiping | 2007 | Frontiers of Medicine2007,1,2: | 0 |
