Our previous data showed that JWA might be involved in both cellular differentiation and apoptosis induced by several chemicals. In this study, we addressed the possible mechanism of JWA in the regulation of cell differentiation and apoptosis in NB4, a human acute promyelocytic leukemia cell line. CD11b/CD33 expression and cell cycle were analyzed for detecting of cell differentiation and apoptosis. | 9 | ApoB/apoA1 is an effective predictor of coronary heart disease risk in overweight and obesity显示文摘We investigated the relationship of apoB/apoA1 ratio and coronary heart disease (CHD) in persons who were overweight or obese.The subjects were divided by the body mass indexes (BMI) into the normal weight group (n=397,BMI<24 kg/m 2) and the overweight group (n=400,BMI>24 kg/m 2).Our results showed that the overweight group had higher blood pressure [(130.15±19.01) mmHg vs (123.66±18.70) mmHg] and higher levels of blood sugar [(7.09±2.89) mmol/L vs (6.21±2.59) mmol/L],triglyceride [(1.93±1.19) mmol/L vs (1.44±0.85) mmol/L],total cholesterol [(4.26±1.06) mmol/L vs (4.09±0.99) mmol/L],low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) [(2.56±0.75) mmol/L vs (2.39±0.72) mmol/L],and apoB [(0.83±0.27) mg/L vs (0.78±0.23) mg/L],and a higher apoB/apoA1 ratio (0.83±0.27 vs 0.75±0.25) and lower levels high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [(1.10±0.26) mmol/L vs (1.21±0.31) mmol/L] and apoA1 [(1.04±0.20) mg/L vs (1.08±0.22) mg/L] than those of the normal weight group (all P < 0.05).The prevalence of CHD in the over-weight group in the lowest LDL quartile was almost twice greater than that of the highest apoB/apoA1 quartile,compared with the subjects in the lowest apoB/apoA1 quartile.The higher apoB/apoA1 quartile was in agreement with the higher prevalence of CHD.In the overweight and obesity group,the area under ROC curve (AUC) was the highest for apoB/apoA1 (0.655).The cut-off point of apoB/apoA1 for optimal sensitivity and specificity was at 0.80,with a sensitivity of 57.19% and a specificity of 71.72%.In conclusion,apoB and apoA1 were simple clinical indicators,and the apoB/apoA1 ratio was closely related with CHD in overweight and obese patients.The apoB/apoA1 ratio may provide some useful information in the differential diagnosis. | Min Lu Qun Lu Yong Zhang Gang Tian | 2011 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2011,25,4: | 8 |

During its prolonged clonal propagation, numerous deleterious mutations have accumulated in the potato genome,leading to severe inbreeding depression; however,the shaping of this mutation burden during polyploidization and improvement is largely unknown.Here, we sequenced 20 diploid landraces of the Stenotomum group, eight tetraploid landraces, and 20 tetraploid modern cultivars, to analyze variations in their deleterious mutations. We show that deleterious mutations accumulated rapidly during the polyploidization of tetraploid potatoes. | 11 | Mussel-inspired nanozyme catalyzed conductive and self-setting hydrogel for adhesive and antibacterial bioelectronics显示文摘Adhesive hydrogels have broad applications ranging from tissue engineering to bioelectronics;however,fabricating adhesive hydrogels with multiple functions remains a challenge.In this study,a mussel-inspired tannic acid chelated-Ag(TA-Ag)nanozyme with peroxidase(POD)-like activity was designed by the in situ reduction of ultrasmall Ag nanoparticles(NPs)with TA.The ultrasmall TA-Ag nanozyme exhibited high catalytic activity to induce hydrogel self-setting without external aid.The nanozyme retained abundant phenolic hydroxyl groups and maintained the dynamic redox balance of phenol-quinone,providing the hydrogels with long-term and repeatable adhesiveness,similar to the adhesion of mussels.The phenolic hydroxyl groups also afforded uniform distribution of the nanozyme in the hydrogel network,thereby improving its mechanical properties and conductivity.Furthermore,the nanozyme endowed the hydrogel with antibacterial activity through synergistic effects of the reactive oxygen species generated via POD-like catalytic reactions and the intrinsic bactericidal activity of Ag.Owing to these advantages,the ultrasmall TA-Ag nanozyme-catalyzed hydrogel could be effectively used as an adhesive,antibacterial,and implantable bioelectrode to detect bio-signals,and as a wound dressing to accelerate tissue regeneration while preventing infection.Therefore,this study provides a promising approach for the fabrication of adhesive hydrogel bioelectronics with multiple functions via mussel-inspired nanozyme catalysis. | Zhanrong Jia Xuanhan Lv Yue Hou Kefeng Wang Fuzeng Ren Dingguo Xu Qun Wang Kelong Fan Chaoming Xie Xiong Lu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,9: | 7 |
| 12 | Humanin attenuates Alzheimer-like cognitive deficits and pathological changes induced by amyloid β-peptide in rats显示文摘Amyloid β-peptide(Aβ) has been implicated as a key molecule in the neurodegenerative cascades of Alzheimer 's disease(AD). Humanin(HN) is a secretory peptide that inhibits the neurotoxicity of Aβ. However, the mechanism(s) by which HN exerts its neuroprotection against Aβ-induced ADlike pathological changes and memory deficits are yet to be completely defined. In the present study,we provided evidence that treatment of rats with HN increases the number of dendritic branches and the density of dendritic spines, and upregulates pre- and post-synaptic protein levels; these effects lead to enhanced long-term potentiation and amelioration of the memory deficits induced by Aβ1-42. HN also attenuated Aβ1-42-induced tau hyperphosphorylation,apparently by inhibiting the phosphorylation of Tyr307 on the inhibitory protein phosphatase-2A(PP2A)catalytic subunit and thereby activating PP2 A. HN also inhibited apoptosis and reduced the oxidativestress induced by Aβ1-42. | 13 | Comparative analysis of different cyclosporine A doses on protection after myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury in rat显示文摘Objective:To investigate the protective effect of different cyclosporin A(CsA)doses on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury in rat models.Methods:A rat model of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury was established in vivo and the rats were randomly divided into four groups:placebo(PBS;T1),low-dose(CsA dose:1.0 mg/kg:T2),medium-dose(CsA dose:2.5 mg/kg:T3),and high-dose(CsA dose:5.0 mg/kg;T4)groups.Heart function indexes were monitored at different time points,the extent of myocardial infarction was assessed by Evans Blue-TTC staining,and creatine kinase MB mass and cardiac troponin 1 values were measured by biochemical assays.Results:Compared with the T1 and T2 groups,both the creatine kinase MB mass and cardiac troponin 1 were significantly lower in the T3 and T4 groups(P<0.05).The mean arterial pressure(MAP)and left ventricular systolic pressure(LVSP)decreased sequentially in each group,with the extending reperfusion time.Significant decreases in LVSP and MAP were observed in the T3 and T4 groups as compared to the T1 and T2 group(P<0.05)and the T2 group showed a significantly lower LVSP and MAP decline than the T1 group(P<0.05).Compared with the Tl group,the rats from the T2.T3,and T4 groups suffered from a significantly lower extent of myocardial infarction(P<0.05).Also,the a animals in the T3 and T4 groups had a significantly smaller extent of myocardial infarction than those in the T2 group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Various CsA doses exert different degrees of protection against ischemia/reperfusion injury,and this protective effect peaks at approximately 2.5 mg/kg in rat models. | Kang Huang Shi-Juan Lu Jiang-Hua Zhong Qun Xiang Liu Wang Miao Wu | 2014 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2014,7,2: | 6 |

| 16 | Parallel selection of distinct Tof5 alleles drove the adaptation of cultivated and wild soybean to high latitudes显示文摘Photoperiod responsiveness is a key factor limiting the geographic distribution of cultivated soybean and its wild ancestor.In particular,the genetic basis of the adaptation in wild soybean remains poorly understood.In this study,by combining whole-genome resequencing and genome-wide association studies we identified a novel locus,Time of Flowering 5(Tof5),which promotes flowering and enhances adaptation to high latitudes in both wild and cultivated soybean.By genomic,genetic and transgenic analyses we showed that Tof5 en-codes a homolog of Arabidopsis thaliana FRUITFULL(FUL).Importantly,further analyses suggested that different alleles of Tof5 have undergone parallel selection.The Tof5H1 allele was strongly selected by humans after the early domestication of cultivated soybean,while Tof5H2 allele was naturally selected in wild soybean,and in each case facilitating adaptation to high latitudes.Moreover,we found that the key flowering repressor E1 suppresses the transcription of Tof5 by binding to its promoter.In turn,Tof5 physically associates with the promoters of two important FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT),FT2a and FT5a,to upregulate their transcription and promote flowering under long photoperiods.Collectively,ourfindings provide insights into how wild soybean adapted to high latitudes through natural selection and indicate that cultivated soybean underwent changes in the same gene but evolved a distinct allele that was artificially selected after domestication. | Lidong Dong Qun Cheng Chao Fang Lingping Kong Hui Yang Zhihong Hou Yongli Li Haiyang Nan Yuhang Zhang Qingshan Chen Chunbao Zhang Kun Kou Tong Su Lingshuang Wang Shichen Li Haiyang Li Xiaoya Lin Yang Tang Xiaohui Zhao Sijia Lu Baohui Liu Fanjiang Kong | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,2: | 5 |

| 18 | Pregnancy outcomes after fertility preservation in women with endometrial carcinoma and atypical endometrial hyperplasia:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:The objective of the study was to compare the effects of assisted reproductive technology(ART)and spontaneous pregnancy on pregnancy outcomes in women with endometrial carcinoma(EC)and atypical endometrial hyperplasia(AEH)following fertility-sparing treatments.Methods:Relevant studies published through July 2020 were identified from PubMed and Web of Science literature searches.The pregnancy outcomes of ART and spontaneous pregnancy were summarized and compared for women with complete remission of EC/AEH after fertility-sparing treatments.A subgroup analysis was performed based on whether patients had received in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)treatment.The complete remission and recurrence rates of EC/AEH following fertility-sparing treatments were estimated.The effect of pregnancy on recurrence rates of EC/AEH was also calculated.Results:Sixteen observational studies reporting pregnancy outcomes or recurrence with ART or spontaneous pregnancy for women with EC/AEH after fertility-sparing treatments were included.The complete remission rate of EC/AEH was 81.5%(95%CI,78%–85%).Compared with spontaneous pregnancy,the pregnancy rate of ART was significantly higher(66.8%vs.43.7%,OR=2.64,95%CI 1.71–4.05,P<0.00001,I^(2)=14%).Subgroup analysis showed that the pregnancy rate of IVF-ET was significantly higher than that of spontaneous pregnancy(62.7%vs.35.1%,OR=2.85,95%CI 1.44-5.63,P=0.003,I^(2)=29%).The live birth rate of ART was significantly higher than that of spontaneous pregnancy(75.3%vs.47.8%,OR=3.96,95%CI1.76-8.77,P=0.0009,I^(2)=45%).The recurrence rate of EC/AEH was 31%(95%CI 24%–39%).Clinical pregnancy could reduce the recurrence rate of EC/AEH,but there was no significant evidence of an association.Conclusions:ART,especially IVF-ET,could significantly improve pregnancy outcomes in women with EC/AEH receiving fertility-sparing treatments.Following complete remission,ART treatment might be a better option for women with EC/AEH than spontaneous pregnancy. | Zerui Xiao Ziyi Song Jianliu Wang Huixin Liu Qun Lu | 2021 | Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2021,1,4: | 4 |
