| 5 | Precise nanomedicine for intelligent therapy of cancer显示文摘Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. | 7 | Oxidative stress induces gastric submucosal arteriolar dysfunction in the elderly显示文摘AIM:To evaluate human gastric submucosal vascular dysfunction and its mechanism during the aging process.METHODS:Twenty male patients undergoing subtotal gastrectomy were enrolled in this study.Young and elderly patient groups aged 25-40 years and 60-85 years,respectively,were included.Inclusion criteria were:no clinical evidence of cardiovascular,renal or diabetic diseases.Conventional clinical examinations were carried out.After surgery,gastric submucosal arteries were immediately dissected free of fat and connective tissue.Vascular responses to acetylcholine(ACh)and sodium nitroprusside(SNP)were measured by isolated vascular perfusion.Morphological changes in the gastric mucosal vessels were observed by hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining and Verhoeff van Gieson(EVG)staining.The expression of xanthine oxidase(XO)and manganese-superoxide dismutase(Mn-SOD)was assessed by Western blotting analysis.The malondialdehyde(MDA)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)content and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)were determined according to commercial kits.RESULTS:The overall structure of vessel walls was shown by HE and EVG staining,respectively.Disruption of the internal elastic lamina or neointimal layers was not observed in vessels from young or elderly patients;however,cell layer number in the vessel wall increased significantly in the elderly group.Compared with submucosal arteries in young patients,the amount of vascular collagen fibers,lumen diameter and media cross-sectional area were significantly increased in elderly patients.Ach-and SNP-induced vasodilatation in elderly arterioles was significantly decreased compared with that of gastric submucosal arterioles from young patients.Compared with the young group,the expression of XO and the contents of MDA and H2O2in gastric submucosal arterioles were increased in the elderly group.In addition,the expression of Mn-SOD and the activities of SOD and GSH-Px in the elderly group decreased significantly compared with those in the young group.CONCLUSION:Gastric vascular dysfunction and senescence may be associated with increased oxidative stress and decreased antioxidative defense in the aging process. | Lei Liu Yan Liu Jie Cui Hong Liu Yan-Bing Liu Wei-Li Qiao Hong Sun Chang-Dong Yan | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,48: | 14 |
| 8 | Essential roles of exosome and circRNA_101093 on ferroptosis desensitization in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Resistance to ferroptosis,a regulated cell death caused by irondependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides,has recently been linked to lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Intracellular antioxidant systems are required for protection against ferroptosis.The purpose of the present studywas to investigate whether and how extracellular system desensitizes LUAD cells to ferroptosis.Methods:Established human lung fibroblasts MRC-5,WI38,and human LUAD H1650,PC9,H1975,H358,A549,and H1299 cell lines,tumor and matched normal adjacent tissues of LUAD,and plasma from healthy individuals and LUAD patients were used in this study.Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting were used to analyze protein expression,and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR was used to analyze mRNA expression.Cell viability,cell death,and the lipid reactive oxygen species generationwere measured to evaluate the responses to ferroptosis.Exosomes were observed using transmission electron microscope.The localization of arachidonic acid(AA)was detected using click chemistry labeling followed by confocal microscopy.Interactions between RNAs and proteins were detected using RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation and photoactivatable ribonucleoside-enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation methods.Proteomic analysis was used to investigate RNA-regulated proteins,and metabolomic analysis was performed to analyze metabolites.Cellderived xenograft,patient-derived xenograft,cell-implanted intrapulmonary LUAD mouse models and plasma/tissue specimens from LUAD patients were used to validate the molecular mechanism.Results:Plasma exosome from LUAD patients specifically reduced lipid peroxidation and desensitized LUAD cells to ferroptosis.A potential explanation is that exosomal circRNA_101093(cir93)maintained an elevation in intracellular cir93 in LUAD to modulate AA,a poly-unsaturated fatty acid critical for ferroptosisassociated increased peroxidation in the plasma membrane.Mechanistically,cir93 interacted with and increased fatty acid-binding protein 3(FABP3),which transported AA and facilitated its reaction with taurine.Thus,global AA was reduced,whereas N-arachidonoyl taurine(NAT,the product of AA and taurine)was induced.Notably,the role of NAT in suppressing AA incorporation into the plasma membrane was also revealed.In pre-clinical in vivo models,reducing exosome improved ferroptosis-based treatment.Conclusion:Exosome and cir93 are essential for desensitizing LUAD cells to ferroptosis,and blocking exosome may be helpful for future LUAD treatment. | Xiao Zhang Yunhua Xu Lifang Ma Keke Yu Yongjie Niu Xin Xu Yi Shi Susu Guo Xiangfei Xue Yikun Wang Shiyu Qiu Jiangtao Cui Hong Wang Xiaoting Tian Yayou Miao Fanyu Meng Yongxia Qiao Yongchun Yu Jiayi Wang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,4: | 10 |

| 10 | Optimized design and test for a pendulum suspension of the crop spray boom in dynamic conditions based on a six DOF motion simulator显示文摘Spray deposit distribution from a field sprayer is mainly affected by the boom movements when the tractor is driven over a rough soil surface,the pendulum suspension that used to reduce and control the movement of spray boom by isolating the boom from vibrations of the tractor will directly enhance uniform deposition of chemicals.However,how to match the parameters of the suspension with the properties of the boom is the key problem.The dynamic rigid-flexible coupling model of the virtual prototype of the spray boom suspension system was established by using ADAMS and ABAQUS software.An optimization of the suspension parameters for a large spay boom was carried out based on the optimal Latin hypercube design,radial basis function neural network,and multi-objective genetic algorithm NSGA-II.After modified parameters of the suspension,the travel of the sprayer on a typical field motion track was simulated based on a six DOF motion simulator,and the dynamic behavior of the boom suspension was measured.The results show that RMS of the measured boom roll angle and the boom center displacement for optimized solution were reduced by 14.76%and 12.43%compared with the original suspension.Finally,the inertial measurement unit(IMU)was used to measure the movements of the sprayer vehicle during the pesticide application on the Hongze Lake Farm,the experiment of field condition reproduced by using the six DOF motion simulator,the standard deviation of the roll angle and vibration displacement for the optimized sprayer boom are only 0.6382°and 62.279 mm respectively.The research provides theoretical basis and experimental method for parameter optimization of large scale boom suspension. | Longfei Cui Hanping Mao Xinyu Xue Suming Ding Baiyu Qiao | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,3: | 9 |

| 16 | Anti-Hypertensive Action of Fenofibrate via UCP2 Upregulation Mediated by PPAR Activation in Baroreflex Afferent Pathway显示文摘Fenofibrate, an agonist for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha(PPAR-a), lowers blood pressure, but whether this action is mediated via baroreflex afferents has not been elucidated. In this study, the distribution of PPAR-a and PPAR-c was assessed in the nodose ganglion(NG) and the nucleus of the solitary tract(NTS). Hypertension induced by drinking high fructose(HFD) was reduced, along with complete restoration of impaired baroreceptor sensitivity, by chronic treatment with fenofibrate. The molecular data also showed that both PPAR-a and PPAR-c were dramatically up-regulated in the NG and NTS of the HFD group. | 17 | Impacts of smoking status on the clinical outcomes of coronary non-target lesions in patients with coronary heart disease:a single-center angiographic study显示文摘Background:Coronary atherosclerotic plaque could go through rapid progression and induce adverse cardiac events.This study aimed to evaluate the impacts of smoking status on clinical outcomes of coronary non-target lesions.Methods:Consecutive patients with coronary heart disease who underwent two serial coronary angiographies were included.All coronary non-target lesions were recorded at first coronary angiography and analyzed using quantitative coronary angiography at both procedures.Patients were grouped into non-smokers,quitters,and smokers according to their smoking status.Clinical outcomes including rapid lesion progression,lesion re-vascularization,and myocardial infarction were recorded at second coronary angiography.Multivariable Cox regression analysis was used to investigate the association between smoking status and clinical outcomes.Results:A total of 1255 patients and 1670 lesions were included.Smokers were younger and more likely to be male compared with nonsmokers.Increase in percent diameter stenosis was significantly lower(2.7[0.6,7.1]%vs.3.5[0.9,8.9]%)and 3.4[1.1,7.7]%,P=0.020)in quitters than those in smokers and non-smokers.Quitters tended to have a decreased incidence of rapid lesions progression(15.8%[76/482]vs.21.6%[74/342]and 20.6%[89/431],P=0.062),lesion re-vascularization(13.1%[63/482]vs.15.5%[53/432]and 15.5%[67/431],P=0.448),lesion-related myocardial infarction(0.8%[4/482]vs.2.6%[9/342]and 1.4%[6/431],P=0.110)and all-cause myocardial infarction(1.9%[9/482]vs.4.1%[14/342]and 2.3%[10/431],P=0.128)compared with smokers and non-smokers.In multivariable analysis,smoking status was not an independent predictor for rapid lesion progression,lesion re-vascularization,and lesion-related myocardial infarction except that a higher risk of all-cause myocardial infarction was observed in smokers than non-smokers(hazards ratio:3.00,95%confidence interval:1.04-8.62,P=0.042).Conclusion:Smoking cessation mitigates the increase in percent diameter stenosis of coronary non-target lesions,meanwhile,smokers are associated with increased risk for all-cause myocardial infarction compared with non-smokers. | Hao-Bo Xu Juan Wang Ji-Lin Chen Chao Guo Jian-Song Yuan Xin Duan Feng-Huan Hu Wei-Xian Yang Xiao-Liang Luo Rong Liu Jin-Gang Cui Sheng-Wen Liu Xiao-Jin Gao Yu-Shi Chun Shu-Bin Qiao | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,19: | 5 |
| 18 | Causes for different spatial distributions of minimum Arctic sea-ice extent in 2007 and 2012显示文摘Satellite records show the minimum Arctic sea ice extents(SIEs) were observed in the Septembers of 2007 and2012, but the spatial distributions of sea ice concentration reduction in these two years were quite different.Atmospheric circulation pattern and the upper-ocean state in summer were investigated to explain the difference.By employing the ice-temperature and ice-specific humidity(SH) positive feedbacks in the Arctic Ocean, this paper shows that in 2007 and 2012 the higher surface air temperature(SAT) and sea level pressure(SLP)accompanied by more surface SH and higher sea surface temperature(SST), as a consequence, the strengthened poleward wind was favorable for melting summer Arctic sea ice in different regions in these two years. SAT was the dominant factor influencing the distribution of Arctic sea ice melting. The correlation coefficient is –0.84 between SAT anomalies in summer and the Arctic SIE anomalies in autumn. The increase SAT in different regions in the summers of 2007 and 2012 corresponded to a quicker melting of sea ice in the Arctic. The SLP and related wind were promoting factors connected with SAT. Strengthening poleward winds brought warm moist air to the Arctic and accelerated the melting of sea ice in different regions in the summers of 2007 and 2012. | 20 | Increased expression of cyclooxygenase-2 in first-degree relatives of gastric cancer patients显示文摘AIM: To study the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)in human gastric cancer tissues and their paired adjacent mucosa, as well as mucosa from gastric antrum and corpus of the first-degree relatives of the recruited cancer patients.METHODS: The expression of COX-2 mRNA in 38 patients with gastric cancer and their 29 first-degree relatives and 18 healthy controls was assessed by the real time RT-PCR.The expression of COX-2 protein was determined by Western blot.RESULTS: A marked increase in COX-2 mRNA expression was found in 20 of 37 (54%) cancerous tissues compared to their respective paired normal mucosa (P<0.001).Interestingly, increased COX-2 mRNA expression was also found in mucosa of the corpus (6/29) and antrum (13/29)of their first-degree relatives. Increased COX-2 mRNA expression was more frequently observed in the antrum biopsies from cancer patients than in the antrum biopsies from healthy controls (P<0.05). In addition, 3 of 23 (13%)patients with atrophic mucosa and 6 of 35 (17%) patients with intestinal metaplasia showed increased COX-2 mRNA expression.
