| 2 | Remote sensing based monitoring of interannual variations in vegetation activity in China from 1982 to 2009显示文摘Terrestrial vegetation is one of the most important components of the Earth's land surface. Variations in terrestrial vegetation directly impact the Earth system's balance of material and energy. This paper describes detected variations in vegetation activity at a national scale for China based on nearly 30 years of remote sensing data derived from NOAA/AVHRR(1982–2006) and MODIS(2001–2009). Vegetation activity is analyzed for four regions covering agriculture, forests, grasslands, and China's Northwest region with sparse vegetation cover(including regions without vegetation). Relationships between variations in vegetation activity and climate change as well as agricultural production are also explored. The results show that vegetation activity has generally increased across large areas, especially during the most recent decade. The variations in vegetation activity have been driven primarily by human factors, especially in the southern forest region and the Northwest region with sparse vegetation cover. | 3 | A New Carbon and Oxygen Balance Model Based on Ecological Service of Urban Vegetation显示文摘The application of human induced oxygen consumption and carbon emission theory in urban region was summed up and on this base a new model of urban carbon and oxygen balance (UCOB) was constructed by calculating the carbon and oxygen fluxes. The purpose was to highlight the role of vegetation in urban ecosystems and evaluate the effects of various human activities on urban annual oxygen consumption and carbon emission. Hopefully,the model would be helpful in theory to keep the regional balance of carbon and oxygen,and provide guidance and support for urban vegetation planning in the future. To test the UCOB model,the Jimei District of Xiamen City,Fujian Province,China,a very typical urban region,was selected as a case study. The results turn out that Jimei′s vegetation service in oxygen emission and carbon sequestration could not meet the demand of the urban population,and more than 31.49 times of vegetation area should be added to meet the whole oxygen consumption in Jimei while 9.60 times of vegetation area are needed to meet the carbon sequestration targets. | 6 | Light-triggered nitric oxide release and structure transformation of peptide for enhanced intratumoral retention and sensitized photodynamic therapy显示文摘Tumor-targeted delivery of nanomedicine is of great importance to improve therapeutic efficacy of cancer and minimize systemic side effects.Unfortunately,nowadays the targeting efficiency of nanomedicine toward tumor is still quite limited and far from clinical requirements.In this work,we develop an innovative peptide-based nanoparticle to realize light-triggered nitric oxide(NO)release and structural transformation for enhanced intratumoral retention and simultaneously sensitizing photodynamic therapy(PDT).The designed nanoparticle is self-assembled from a chimeric peptide monomer,TPP-RRRKLVFFK-Ce6,which contains a photosensitive moiety(chlorin e6,Ce6),aβ-sheet-forming peptide domain(Lys-Leu-Val-Phe-Phe,KLVFF),an oligoarginine domain(RRR)as NO donor and a triphenylphosphonium(TPP)moiety for targeting mitochondria.When irradiated by light,the constructed nanoparticles undergo rapid structural transformation from nanosphere to nanorod,enabling to achieve a significantly higher intratumoral accumulation by 3.26 times compared to that without light irradiation.More importantly,the conversion of generated NO and reactive oxygen species(ROS)in a light-responsive way to peroxynitrite anions(ONOO)with higher cytotoxicity enables NO to sensitize PDT in cancer treatment.Both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that NO sensitized PDT based on the well-designed transformable nanoparticles enables to eradicate tumors efficiently.The light-triggered transformable nanoplatform developed in this work provides a new strategy for enhanced intratumoral retention and improved therapeutic outcome. | Lingdong Jiang Danyang Chen Zhaokui Jin Chao Xia Qingqing Xu Mingjian Fan Yunlu Dai Jia Liu Yuanpei Li Qianjun He | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,6: | 3 |

| 14 | Comparative investigation on the heat transfer performance of an energy storage system with a spiral tube and straight tube:An experimental approach显示文摘Latent heat thermal energy storage systems can effectively fill the gap between energy storage and application, and phase-change materials(PCMs) are crucial media for storing thermal energy. Therefore, how to maximize the utilization efficiency of PCMs has attracted widespread attention. In this study, the thermal behavior of two thermal storage units employing a spiral tube and straight tube as heat transfer tubes was experimentally researched and comprehensively compared. Stefan numbers were used to investigate the impact of the heat transfer fluid temperature on the PCM melting process. The temperature distribution of PCMs,temporal evolution of the melting front, and temperature variations of measurement points in both tanks were compared. The average temperature and energy storage of PCMs were calculated to evaluate the thermal performance of different configurations. The results indicate that compared to cylinder B(with a straight tube), the energy storage in cylinder A(with a spiral tube)increased by 78.8%, 38.5%, and 19.6% at Stefan numbers of 1.08, 1.28, and 1.48, respectively. Moreover, the increase in the Stefan number simultaneously ascended the average temperature and energy storage of PCMs in containers A and B, causing the shortening of the melting time. When the Stefan number was increased from 1.28 to 1.48, the storage capacity was raised from3233.18 to 3463.8 k J, and the total melting time was decreased by 34.2% from 547.5 to 360 min after the PCM was loaded in cylinder A. | 17 | Heat Storage Performance of PCM in a Novel Vertical Pointer-Shaped Finned Latent Heat Tank显示文摘The heat storage performance of latent heat storage systems is not good due to the poor thermal conductivity of phase change materials.In this paper,a new type of pointer-shaped fins combining rectangular and triangular fins has been employed to numerically simulate the melting process in the heat storage tank,and the fin geometry parameter effects on heat storage performance have been studied.The results indicate that compared with the bare tube and the rectangular finned tank,the melting time of the phase change material in the pointer-shaped finned tank is reduced by 64.2%and 15.1%,respectively.The closer the tip of the triangular fin is to the hot wall,the better the heat transfer efficiency.The optimal height of the triangular fin is about 8 mm.Increasing the number of fins from 4 to 6 and from 6 to 8 reduces the melting time by 16.0%and 16.7%respectively.However,increasing the number of fins from 8 to 10 only reduces the melting time by 8.4%.When the fin dimensionless length is increased from 0.3 to 0.5 and from 0.5 to 0.7,the melting time is shortened by 17.5%and 13.0%.But the melting time is only reduced by 2.9%when the dimensionless fin length is increased from 0.7 to 0.9.For optimising the design of the thermal storage system,the results can provide a reference value. | MAO Qianjun ZHU Yuanyuan LI Tao | 2024 | Journal of Thermal Science2024,33,2: | 0 |
| 18 | Numerical and Experimental Investigation on Heat Transfer Performance of a Solar Single Storage Tank显示文摘The single-tank latent heat thermal energy storage(LHTES)of solar energy mainly consists of two modules:the first one is the phase change material(PCM)module heated by solar energy;the second is a module of heat transfer between melted PCM and the user’s low-temperature water.This paper mainly focuses on the former one.To investigate the heat transfer performance of the paraffin-based solar single storage tank and find a more suitable experimental configuration,as basic research work,we established a single-tank thermal storage platform and then conducted a numerical simulation on the heat transfer process with Fluent.The result of numerical simulation shows that the test situation was basically reflected and the data agreed well with the experiment results.The numerical simulation analysis is accurate and the method is reliable.To obtain the heat transfer performance of paraffin in a single tank and strengthen heat transfer,the aspect ratio,the melting temperature of paraffin,and the heating power of the electric heater were analyzed based on simulation.The results show that the heat transfer gets more uniform when the aspect ratio is lower.This results in an increase in the liquid fraction of 61.83%to 76.47%one hour after heating when the aspect ratio of the tank reduced from 2.8 to 1.1.The higher the melting temperature of paraffin,the longer it takes for PCM to reach a stable state.And the curvature of liquid heating is greater than that of solid heating at the bottom layer.Under the constant total work,the heating power has little effect on the heat transfer performance of the paraffin.This study will provide some reference value for the optimization design of single-tank LHTES systems in the future. | MAO Qianjun LI Ying ZHANG Yamei ZHANG Chunzhi | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,5: | 0 |

| 20 | Hydrothermal synthesis of polyimide-linked covalent organic frameworks towards ultrafast and stable cathodic sodium storage显示文摘Redox-active organic materials are capturing growing attention as cathode materials for sustainable alkaline metal ion batteries.However,the storage of Na+in most organic materials-based cathodes is plagued by low capacity and unsatisfying rate performance due to their low active site densities and limited exposed active sites.Herein,two polyimide-linked covalent organic frameworks(COFs),namely HATN-PD-COF and HATN-TAB-COF,were fabricated from hydrothermal synthesis with redoxactive triphenylene-2,3,6,7,10,11-hexacarboxylic acid and aromatic amines as starting materials.Powder X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy analysis indicate the high crystalline nature of these COFs with AA stacking configuration and orderly mesoporous tunnel.N_(2) sorption measurement discloses the permanent porosity of these two COFs with a Brunauer-EmmettTeller surface area of 1,065-1,200 m^(2)g^(-1)and a large pore size of 2.0-3.1 nm.Galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and density functional theory calculations reveal the facile Na+ion diffusion along the mesoporous tunnel of these COFs with a small energy barrier of 0.13-0.40 e V.In particular,the as-prepared COFs based-cathodes show ultrafast and stable Na+storage associated with their conjugated electronic structure,highly ordered mesoporous tunnel,robust structure,and redox-active C=N/C=O-rich framework as exemplified by the high reversible capacity of 210 m A h g^(-1)at 200 m A g^(-1),record-high rate performance(195 m A h g^(-1)at a high current density of 10,000 m A g^(-1))among organic electrodes and the capacity retention of nearly 91%at 10,000 m A g^(-1)after 7,000 cycles for HATN-PD-COF. | Xiya Yang Lei Gong Zhixin Liu Qianjun Zhi Baoqiu Yu Xin Chen Kang Wang Xiaofeng Li Dongdong Qi Jianzhuang Jiang | 2024 | Science China Chemistry2024,67,4: | 0 |
