2Geological and surfacial processes and major disaster effects in the Yellow River Basin显示文摘The Yellow River Basin(YRB) is characterized by active geological and tectonic processes, rapid geomorphological evolution, and distinct climatic diversity. Correspondingly, major disasters in the YRB are characterized by varied types,extensive distributions, and sudden occurrences. In addition, major disasters in the YRB usually evolve into disaster chains that cause severe consequences. Therefore, major disasters in the YRB destroy ecologies and environments and influence geological and ecological safety in the basin. This paper systematically reviews research on geological and surface processes, major disaster effects, and risk mitigation in the YRB, discusses the trends and challenges of relevant research, analyzes the key scientific problems that need to be solved, and suggests prospects for future research based on the earth system science concept. Themes of research that should be focused on include geological, surface and climatic processes in the YRB and their interlinking disaster gestation mechanisms;formation mechanisms and disaster chain evolutions of giant landslides in the upper reach of the YRB;mechanisms and disaster chain effects of loess water-soil disasters in the middle reach of the YRB;occurrence patterns and amplifying effects of giant flood chains in the lower reach of the YRB;and risk mitigations of major disasters in the YRB. Key scientific problems that need to be solved are as follows: how to reveal the geological, surface and climatic processes that are coupled and interlinked with gestation mechanisms of major disasters;how to clarify the mutual feedback effects between major disasters and ecology;and how to develop a human-environmental harmony-based integrated risk mitigation system for major disasters. Prospects for future studies that follow the earth system science concept include the following: highlighting interdisciplinary research to reveal the interlinked disaster gestation mechanisms of the geology, surface and climate in the YRB in the past, present, and future;forming theories to clarify the regional patterns, dynamic mechanisms, and mutual-feedback effects between disaster chains and ecology in the YRB on land and in rivers in the region;solving technological bottlenecks to develop assessment models and mitigation theories for integrated risks in the YRB by following the human-environment harmony concept;and finally, establishing a demonstratable application pattern characterized by 'whole-basin coverage' and 'zonal controls', thereby guaranteeing ecological and geological safety in the basin and providing scientific support for ecological conservation and high-quality development of the YRB.Hengxing LAN Jianbing PENG Yanbo ZHU Langping LI Baotian PAN Qiangbing HUANG Junhua LI Qiang ZHANG 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,2:4

5The Volume Calculation Method of Rock Collapses and Loess Landslides Triggered by the 1556 AD Huaxian M81/2 Earthquake in Shaanxi Province, China显示文摘Accurate volume calculation of each individual landslide triggered by strong historical earthquakes can help understand the characteristics of the typical earthquake-induced landslides,thus providing significant information for the modification of the focal parameters of historical earthquakes.In this study,we select one rock fall and three loess landslides triggered by the 1556 AD Huaxian M8⅟��earthquake,compute their volumes using the low-altitude high-precision Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)photogrammetry and landslide profile restoration methods.The results show that:①the whole influencing area of the Huangjiagou Rock Fall is approximately 3.03×105 m2 and the area of the collapsed rock accumulated at the slope foot is 3.33×104 m2,accounting for approximately 10%of the entire influencing range.However,the estimated volume of the collapsed rock is only 0.699×106 m3,indicating a rock fall with large influencing range but limited collapsed rock;②the geological form of thethree loess landslides are preserved intactly,with volumes of 0.283×108 m3,0.074×108 m3,and 0.377×108 m3.These important geological hazard relics reflect the strong vibrations and severe casualties in the meizoseismal area;③loess landslides are the key reason of the serious death toll in the hilly-gully loess area.Our new method can be used to estimate the influencing area and the actual volume of each individual landslide,and rationally evaluate the role of earthquake landslides in the disaster.In addition,quantitative research on secondary disasters triggered by strong historical earthquakes is beneficial for understanding the surface process and focal parameters of the earthquakes.ZHANG Yanbo XU Yueren DU Peng LI Wenqiao CHEN Lize TIAN Qinjian 2020Earthquake Research in China2020,34,4:1
6Structure, characterization, and dynamic performance of a wet air oxidation catalyst Cu–Fe–La/γ-Al_2O_3显示文摘A Cu–Fe–La/γ-Al_2O_3(CFLA) catalyst was prepared by the excessive impregnation method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results indicate that the catalyst contained mostly Cu^(2+), Fe^(3+), and La^(3+)and a small amount of Cu^+, Fe^(2+), and La. The active components were uniformly distributed in the catalyst, and the particle size of the components was approximately 7.5 nm. The CFLA catalyst was used for the treatment of methyl orange(MO) solution by catalytic wet air oxidation(CWAO), and it exhibited a high catalytic activity. The catalytic reaction involved variable valence states of metals and free-radical reaction mechanism. 7Deep learning assisted variational Hilbert quantitative phase imaging显示文摘We propose a high-accuracy artifacts-free single-frame digital holographic phase demodulation scheme for relatively lowcarrier frequency holograms-deep learning assisted variational Hilbert quantitative phase imaging(DL-VHQPI).The method,incorporating a conventional deep neural network into a complete physical model utilizing the idea of residual compensation,reliably and robustly recovers the quantitative phase information of the test objects.It can significantly alleviate spectrum-overlapping-caused phase artifacts under the slightly off-axis digital holographic system.Compared to the conventional end-to-end networks(without a physical model),the proposed method can reduce the dataset size dramatically while maintaining the imaging quality and model generalization.The DL-VHQPI is quantitatively studied by numerical simulation.The live-cell experiment is designed to demonstrate the method's practicality in biological research.The proposed idea of the deep learning-assisted physical model might be extended to diverse computational imaging techniques.Zhuoshi Li Jiasong Sun Yao Fan Yanbo Jin Qian Shen Maciej Trusiak Maria Cywińska Peng Gao Qian Chen Chao Zuo 2023Opto-Electronic Science2023,2,4:1

10Distributionally robust optimization of home energy management system based on receding horizon optimization显示文摘This paper investigates the scheduling strategy of schedulable load in home energy management system(HEMS)under uncertain environment by proposing a distributionally robust optimization(DRO)method based on receding horizon optimization(RHO-DRO).First,the optimization model of HEMS,which contains uncertain variable outdoor temperature and hot water demand,is established and the scheduling problem is developed into a mixed integer linear programming(MILP)by using the DRO method based on the ambiguity sets of the probability distribution of uncertain variables.Combined with RHO,the MILP is solved in a rolling fashion using the latest update data related to uncertain variables.The simulation results demonstrate that the scheduling results are robust under uncertain environment while satisfying all operating constraints with little violation of user thermal comfort.Furthermore,compared with the robust optimization(RO)method,the RHO-DRO method proposed in this paper has a lower conservation and can save more electricity for users.Jidong WANG Boyu CHEN Peng LI Yanbo CHE 2020Frontiers in Energy2020,14,2:1

13MPC-based interval number optimization for electric water heater scheduling in uncertain environments显示文摘In this paper,interval number optimization and model predictive control are proposed to handle the uncertain-but-bounded parameters in electric water heater load scheduling.First of all,interval numbers are used to describe uncertain parameters including hot water demand,ambient temperature,and real-time price of electricity.Moreover,the traditional thermal dynamic model of electric water heater is transformed into an interval number model,based on which,the day-ahead load scheduling problem with uncertain parameters is formulated,and solved by interval number optimization.Different tolerance degrees for constraint violation and temperature preferences are also discussed for giving consumers more choices.Furthermore,the model predictive control which incorporates both forecasts and newly updated information is utilized to make and execute electric water heater load schedules on a rolling basis throughout the day.Simulation results demonstrate that interval number optimization either in day-ahead optimization or model predictive control format is robust to the uncertain hot water demand,ambient temperature,and real-time price of electricity,enabling customers to flexibly adjust electric water heater control strategy.Jidong WANG Chenghao LI Peng LI Yanbo CHE Yue ZHOU Yinqi LI 2021Frontiers in Energy2021,15,1:0
14A case-based reasoning method of recognizing liquefaction pits induced by 2021 M_(W) 7.3 Madoi earthquake显示文摘Earthquake-triggered liquefaction deformation could lead to severe infrastructure damage and associated casualties and property damage.At present,there are few studies on the rapid extraction of liquefaction pits based on high-resolution satellite images.Therefore,we provide a framework for extracting liquefaction pits based on a case-based reasoning method.Furthermore,five covariates selection methods were used to filter the 11 covariates that were generated from high-resolution satellite images and digital elevation models(DEM).The proposed method was trained with 450 typical samples which were collected based on visual interpretation,then used the trained case-based reasoning method to identify the liquefaction pits in the whole study area.The performance of the proposed methods was evaluated from three aspects,the prediction accuracies of liquefaction pits based on the validation samples by kappa index,the comparison between the pre-and post-earthquake images,the rationality of spatial distribution of liquefaction pits.The final result shows the importance of covariates ranked by different methods could be different.However,the most important of covariates is consistent.When selecting five most important covariates,the value of kappa index could be about 96%.There also exist clear differences between the pre-and post-earthquake areas that were identified as liquefaction pits.The predicted spatial distribution of liquefaction is also consistent with the formation principle of liquefaction.Peng Liang Yueren Xu Wenqiao Li Yanbo Zhang Qinjian Tian 2023Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,1:0
15Variation and stability analysis of growth traits of poplar clones in the seedling stage in northeast China显示文摘Plant phenotypes are infl uenced by genetic and environmental factors.In this study,the growth traits of 43 one-year-old poplar clones grown at diff erent sites in northeast China(Dongling State-owned Forest Protection Center,DL;Baicheng State-owned forest farm,BC;and Cuohai Forest farm,CH)were evaluated and analyzed across clones and sites.Results show signifi cant diff erences in height and base diameter among sites and clones.Phenotypic and genetic variation coeffi cients ranged from 49.59%(BC)to 58.39%(DL)and from 49.33%(BC)to 58.06%(DL),respectively.Additive main eff ects and multiplicative interaction(AMMI)analysis showed that the eff ects of genotype,environment,and genotype×environment interaction were signifi cantly diff erent.Genetic variation was the main source of variation,accounting for 48.6%.AMMI biplot showed that clone 30 had high and stable yields at the three sites.From an evaluation of multiple traits and GGE biplot that clone 2,clone 30 and clone 25 had higher yield than the other clones at DL,CH and BC,respectively.These clones will provide material for forest regeneration in northeast China.Xiaoting Liu Qiushuang Zhao Peng Yin Hanxi Li Xuesong Li Liguo Wu Yueji Li Yanbo Hu Xiyang Zhao 2023Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,4:0
16A deformation measurement method based on surface texture information of rocks and its application显示文摘Users of the digital image correlation method are faced with the problem of poor operability,low repeatability,and lack of standardized specifications for spraying speckles.To solve the problem,the research proposed a rock deformation measurement method that obviates the need to spray speckles.A local binary model was established by using the local binary pattern(LBP)operator based on deep texture features on rock surfaces.The resulting LBP digital speckle pattern can substitute artificial speckle patterns and demonstrates high quality and strong applicability.Based on the LBP digital speckle pattern,the target tracking algorithm was employed to achieve non-contact measurement of the dynamic displacements of rocks.The feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm in practical application were verified by conducting shear tests on granite and siltstone.Test results show that the deformation characteristics in the displacement nephograms are in line with the measured data pertaining to rock fracturing and conform to the basic characteristics of the shear failure of rocks.The deformation measurement method based on surface texture information can realize non-contact displacement measurement of rocks under conditions without speckles:this obviates the influence of the quality of sprayed speckles on the accuracy of the measurement of deformation.Yanbo Zhang Xin Han Peng Liang Xulong Yao Qun Li Guangyuan Yu Qi Wang 2023International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,9:0
17Adaptive Multi-modal Fusion Instance Segmentation for CAEVs in Complex Conditions:Dataset,Framework and Verifications显示文摘Current works of environmental perception for connected autonomous electrified vehicles(CAEVs)mainly focus on the object detection task in good weather and illumination conditions,they often perform poorly in adverse scenarios and have a vague scene parsing ability.This paper aims to develop an end-to-end sharpening mixture of experts(SMoE)fusion framework to improve the robustness and accuracy of the perception systems for CAEVs in complex illumination and weather conditions.Three original contributions make our work distinctive from the existing relevant literature.The Complex KITTI dataset is introduced which consists of 7481 pairs of modified KITTI RGB images and the generated LiDAR dense depth maps,and this dataset is fine annotated in instance-level with the proposed semi-automatic annotation method.The SMoE fusion approach is devised to adaptively learn the robust kernels from complementary modalities.Comprehensive comparative experiments are implemented,and the results show that the proposed SMoE framework yield significant improvements over the other fusion techniques in adverse environmental conditions.This research proposes a SMoE fusion framework to improve the scene parsing ability of the perception systems for CAEVs in adverse conditions.Pai Peng Keke Geng Guodong Yin Yanbo Lu Weichao Zhuang Shuaipeng Liu 2021Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,5:0
18Chemical inhibition of Arabidopsis PIN-FORMED auxin transporters by the anti-inflammatory drug naproxen显示文摘The phytohormone auxin plays central roles in many growth and developmental processes in plants.Development of chemical tools targeting the auxin pathway is useful for both plant biology and agriculture.Here we reveal that naproxen,a synthetic compound with anti-inflammatory activity in humans,acts as an auxin transport inhibitor targeting PIN-FORMED(PIN)transporters in plants.Physiological experiments indicate that exogenous naproxen treatment affects pleiotropic auxin-regulated developmental processes.Additional cellular and biochemical evidence indicates that naproxen suppresses auxin transport,specifically PIN-mediated auxin efflux.Moreover,biochemical and structural analyses confirm that naproxen binds directly to PIN1 protein via the same binding cavity as the indole-3-acetic acid substrate.Thus,by combining cellular,biochemical,and structural approaches,this study clearly establishes that naproxen is a PIN inhibitor and elucidates the underlying mechanisms.Further use of this compound may advance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of PIN-mediated auxin transport and expand our toolkit in auxin biology and agriculture.Jing Xia Mengjuan Kong Zhisen Yang Lianghanxiao Sun Yakun Peng Yanbo Mao Hong Wei Wei Ying Yongxiang Gao Jiri Friml Jianping Weng Xin Liu Linfeng Sun Shutang Tan 2023Plant Communications2023,4,6:0
