| 1 | Enhancement of simultaneous nitrogen and phosphorus removal using intermittent aeration mechanism显示文摘Biological nutrient removal grows into complicated scenario due to the microbial consortium shift and kinetic competition between phosphorus(P)-accumulating and nitrogen(N)-removing microorganisms.In this study,three sequential batch reactors with constant operational conditions except aeration patterns at 6 h cycle periods were tested.Intermittent aeration was applied to develop a robust nutrient removal system aimed to achieve high energy saving and removal efficiency.The results showed higher correspondence of Puptake,polymeric substance synthesis and glycogen degradation in intermittent-aeration with longer interval periods compared to continuous-aeration.Increasing the intermittentaeration duration from 25 to 50 min,resulted in higher process performance where the system exhibited approximately 30%higher nutrient removal.This study indicated that nutrient removal strongly depends on reaction phase configuration representing the importance of aeration pattern.The microbial community examined the variation in abundance of bacterial groups in suspended sludge,where the 50 min intermittent aeration,favored the growth of P-accumulating organisms and nitrogen removalmicrobial groups,indicating the complications related to nutrient removal systems.Successful intermittently aerated process with high capability of simple implementation to conventional systems by elemental retrofitting,is applicable for upgrading wastewater treatment plants.With aeration as a major operational cost,this process is a promising approach to potentially remove nutrients in high competence,in distinction to optimizing cost-efficacy of the system. | Parnian Izadi Parin Izadi Ahmed Eldyasti | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,11: | 5 |

| 11 | Molecular Epidemiology and Risk Factors of Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 in Pregnant Women显示文摘Background:Herpes simplex virus type 2(HSV-2)infection is the main cause of genital and neonatal herpes infections.It has considerable public health importance among women as the virus may lead to adverse outcomes in pregnancy and neonatal infection.This study determines the molecular epidemiology and risk factors ofHSV-2 infection among pregnant women.Methods:In this cross-sectional study,all pregnant women admitted to three university hospitals for natural birth and Caesarean sections were enrolled.HSV detection and typing were carried out based on PCR and reverse dot blotting method,respectively.ANOVA and bivariate correlations were used to analyze the data.Results:In this study,the prevalence of genital herpes infection was 5.7%.A significant positive correlation was found between age group<25 years and HSV-2 shedding(P=0.026).Twelve participants(60%)with HSV-2 shedding were younger than 25.A significant correlation was found between the presence of genital lesion and HSV-2(P=0.02).Among participants with HSV-2 infection,the use of condom was low.Neonatal complications were not seen in newborns from mothers with HSV-2 shedding.Conclusion:PCR assay may help in promoting early diagnosis and more effective treatment for patients.Also,it shortens hospital stay and enhances patients?condition.HSV-2 transmission is rapid following the onset of sexual activity and likely to result in the significant prevalence of genital disease. | Saeid Amel Jamehdar Mohammad Hassan Aelami Fahimeh Yarpour Mehrabadi Samira Tabaei Sahar Tahaghoghi Hajghorbani Parnian Malakuti Malihe Hasanzadeh | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Nursing Research2022,6,3: | 0 |
| 12 | Modeling of liquid hydrocarbon products from syngas显示文摘The modeling of hydrocarbon selectivity and CO conversion of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis over Fe-Ni/Al2O3 catalyst by using coupled artificial neural networks (ANN) and design of experiment (DOE) approaches were investigated. The variable parameters for modeling consisted of the pressure range between 2 and 10 bar and the temperature range of 523-573 K. After training of data by ANN and determination of DOE points by central composite design (CCD), the results were compiled together for producing simulated data used in the response surface method (RSM). The RSM was used as an applied mathematics model to dem on strate the CO conversi on and selectivity of hydrocarbons depende nee on the CO hydrogenation conditions. The results indicated that CO conversion and Cg selectivity increased with rising both temperature and pressure. The methane selectivity showed upward trend as the temperature in creased. It also in creased by decreasing pressure. Finally, the optimization of the catalytic process was carried out and conditions with maximum desired product were obtained.
