1苝类化合物研究与应用显示文摘苝类化合物具有大的共轭体系,易于进行结构修饰,可引入各种功能性基团,这种奇特结构赋予了苝类化合物优良的理化性质和特殊功能,在材料科学、超分子化学、生物、药学、医学等领域具有宽广的应用潜力,尤其在苝类有机光电材料已得到广泛的研究,取得了许多重要成就。尤其是近来越来越多的研究致力于开发苝类化合物其它可能的应用,已延伸到诸多领域,特别是相关生物医药的应用研究已成为近几年来异常活跃的新兴研究领域,引起广泛关注,进展迅速。本文结合课题组的研究工作,参考国内外近五年文献,首次系统地综述了苝类化合物在有机光电材料、纳米材料、生物医药光敏剂、生物荧光标记和成像、药物载体、人工诊断剂、人工离子受体和荧光分子探针等材料、生物、医药领域应用研究新进展。文中注重强化了化合物结构对苝类化合物性质和应用的影响。对未来苝类化合物研究与应用的发展趋势作了展望。王辉 Ponmani Jeyakkumar Sangaraiah Nagarajan 孟江平 周成合 2015化学进展2015,27,6:12
2Development of Micro Selective Laser Melting:The State of the Art and Future Perspectives显示文摘Additive manufacturing(AM)is gaining traction in the manufacturing industry for the fabrication of components with complex geometries using a variety of materials.Selective laser melting(SLM)is a common AM technique that is based on powder-bed fusion(PBF)to process metals;however,it is currently focused only on the fabrication of macroscale and mesoscale components.This paper reviews the state of the art of the SLM of metallic materials at the microscale level.In comparison with the direct writing techniques that are commonly used for micro AM,micro SLM is attractive due to a number of factors,including a faster cycle time,process simplicity,and material versatility.A comprehensive evaluation of various research works and commercial systems for the fabrication of microscale parts using SLM and selective laser sintering(SLS)is conducted.In addition to identifying existing issues with SLM at the microscale,which include powder recoating,laser optics,and powder particle size,this paper details potential future directions.A detailed review of existing recoating methods in powder-bed techniques is conducted,along with a description of emerging efforts to implement dry powder dispensing methods in the AM domain.A number of secondary finishing techniques for AM components are reviewed,with a focus on implementation for microscale features and integration with micro SLM systems.Balasubramanian Nagarajan Zhiheng Hu Xu Song Wei Zhai Jun Wei 2019Engineering2019,5,4:9
3Design,Modeling,and Control of Biomimetic Fish Robot:A Review显示文摘A comprehensive review on bio-inspired fish robots has been done in this article with an enhanced focus on swimming styles,actuators,hydrodynamics,kinematic-dynamic modeling,and controllers.Swimming styles such as body and/or caudal fin and median and/or paired fin and their variants are discussed in detail.Literature shows that most fish robots adapt carangiform in body and/or caudal fin type swimming as it gives significant thrust with a maximum speed of 3.7 ms 1 in iSplash-II.Applications of smart or soft actuators to enhance real-time dynamics was studied from literature,and it was found that the robot built with polymer fiber composite material could reach a speed of 0.6 m s However,dynamic modeling is relatively complex,and material selection needs to be explored.The numerical and analytical methods in dynamic modeling have been investigated highlighting merits and demerits.Hydrodynamic parameter estimation through the data-driven model is widely used in offline,however online estimation of the same need to be explored.Classical controllers are frequently used tor navigation and stabilization,which often encounters the linearization problem and hence,can be replaced with the state-of-the-art adaptive and intelligent controller.This article also summarizes the potential research gaps and future scopes.Palmani Duraisamy Rakesh Kumar Sidharthan Manigandan Nagarajan Santhanakrishnan 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,6:7
4Genetically modified mouse models for the study of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is associated with obesity,insulin resistance,and type 2 diabetes.NAFLD represents a large spectrum of diseases ranging from(1) fatty liver(hepatic steatosis);(2) steatosis with inflammation and necrosis;to(3) cirrhosis.The animal models to study NAFLD/nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) are extremely useful,as there are still many events to be elucidated in the pathology of NASH.The study of the established animal models has provided many clues in the pathogenesis of steatosis and steatohepatitis,but these remain incompletely understood.The different mouse models can be classified in two large groups.The first one includes genetically modified(transgenic or knockout) mice that spontaneously develop liver disease,and the second one includes mice that acquire the disease after dietary or pharmacological manipulation.Although the molecular mechanism leading to the development of hepatic steatosis in the pathogenesis of NAFLD is complex,genetically modified animal models may be a key for the treatment of NAFLD.Ideal animal models for NASH should closely resemble the pathological characteristics observed in humans.To date,no single animal model has encompassed the full spectrum of human disease progression,but they can imitate particular characteristics of human disease.Therefore,it is important that the researchers choose the appropriate animal model.This review discusses various genetically modified animal models developed and used in research on NAFLD.Perumal Nagarajan M Jerald Mahesh Kuma Ramasamy Venkatesan Subeer S Majundar Ramesh C Juyal M Jerald Mahesh Kuma 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,11:7

6Colonic adenocarcinoma,mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma and tuberculosis in a segment of colon:A case report显示文摘Synchronous occurrence of adenocarcinoma and mucosa associated lymphoid tissue(MALT) lymphoma of colon is rare,and its presence with coexisting tuberculosis is still rarer.To our knowledge,this may be the first case report.In the present report,we describe a 43-year-old female who presented with a history of abdominal pain,fever,loss of weight and loss of appetite.Colonoscopy showed a large ulceroproliferative mass arising from the caecum,biopsy of which showed it to be adenocarcinoma of the colon.A right hemicolectomy was performed and microscopic study of the colon revealed tuberculosis and synchronous adenocarcinoma with lymphoma.Eight of sixteen lymph nodes showed tuberculosis and three of sixteenpericoloniclymphnodes showed metastatic deposits.Immunostains further confirmed the tumour to be adenocarcinoma with MALT lymphoma.We would like to highlight the diagnostic challenges arising from the multi-faceted presentations of these three conditions.Ambedkar Raj Kulandai Velu Banushree C Srinivasamurthy Krishnan Nagarajan Ilavarasi Sinduja 2014World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2014,6,9:3

9Review:Recent advances in nonlinear control technologies for shape memory alloy actuators显示文摘This paper reviews recent developments in nonlinear control technologies for shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators in robotics and their related applications. SMA possesses large hysteresis, low bandwidth, slow response, and non-linear behavior, which make them difficult to control. The fast response of the SMA actuator mostly depends upon, (1) type of controller, (2) rate of addition and removal of heat, and (3) shape or form of the actuator. Though linear controllers are more desirable than nonlinear ones, the review of literature shows that the results obtained using nonlinear controllers were far better than the former one. Therefore, more emphasis is made on the nonlinear control technologies taking into account the intelligent controllers. Various forms of SMA actuator along with different heating and cooling methods are presented in this review, followed by the nonlinear control methods and the control problems encountered by the researchers.SREEKUMAR M. 12End-to-end computational approach to the design of RNA biosensors for detecting miRNA biomarkers of cervical cancer显示文摘Cervical cancer is a global public health subject as it affects women in the reproductive ages,and accounts for the second largest burden among cancer patients worldwide with an unforgiving 50%mortality rate.Relatively scant awareness and limited access to effective diagnosis have led to this enormous disease burden,calling for point-of-care,minimally invasive diagnosis methods.Here,an end-to-end quantitative unified pipeline for diagnosis has been developed,beginning with identification of optimal biomarkers,concurrent design of toehold switch sensors,and finally simulation of the designed diagnostic circuits to assess performance.Using miRNA expression data in the public domain,we identified miR-21-5p and miR-20a-5p as blood-based miRNA biomarkers specific to early-stage cervical cancer employing a multi-tier algorithmic screening.Synthetic riboregulators called toehold switches specific to the biomarker panel were then designed.To predict the dynamic range of toehold switches for use in genetic circuits as biosensors,we used a generic grammar of these switches,and built a neural network model of dynamic range using thermodynamic features derived from mRNA secondary structure and interaction.Second-generation toehold switches were used to overcome the design challenges associated with miRNA biomarkers.The resultant model yielded an adj.R^(2)~0.71,outperforming earlier models of toehold-switch dynamic range.Reaction kinetics modelling was performed to predict the sensitivity of the second-generation toehold switches to the miRNA biomarkers.Simulations showed a linear response between 10 nM and 100 nM before saturation.Our study demonstrates an end-to-end computational workflow for the efficient design of genetic circuits geared towards the effective detection of unique genomic/nucleic-acid signatures.The approach has the potential to replace iterative experimental trial and error,and focus time,money,and efforts.All software including the toehold grammar parser,neural network model and reaction kinetics simulation are available as open-source software(http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460as6xk6of655vwv6695.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/SASTRA-iGEM2019)under GNU GPLv3 licence.Priyannth Ramasami S.Baabu Shivaramakrishna Srinivasan Swetha Nagarajan Sangeetha Muthamilselvan Thamarai Selvi Raghavv R.Suresh Ashok Palaniappan 2022Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2022,7,2:2

The hybrid molecules exhibit significant anti-bacterial activity when screened against three human pathogens viz. Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. 16Mechanical Property and Morphological Analysis of Polyester Composites Reinforced with Cyperuspangorei Fibers显示文摘In the present work,polyester composites reinforced with a newly identified Cyperus pangorei fiber(CPF)were developed by compression moulding technique.The effects of varying fiber content and fiber length on the mechanical properties of the Cyperus pangorei fiber reinforced polyester composites(CPFCs)such as tensile,flexural,and impact properties were studied.Mechanical strength of the CPFCs increased with fiber length up to 40 mm beyond which a reverse trend was observed.Based on the test results,it was concluded that the critical fiber length and the optimum fiber weight percentage were 40 mm and 40 wt%respectively.The maximum increase of 164%and 117%were found for the tensile and flexural strength of the composite with 40 mm fiber length and 40 wt%fiber content,respectively.On the other hand,a 64%increase in impact strength was noticed for the optimum case.The increasing contact surface between the fiber and the polyester matrix in optimum condition can restrict the probability of fiber pullout and in turn can make the composite carry more load.The chemical structure of CPF was also analyzed using Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)spectrum.The morphological analysis of fractured samples was performed using Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM)to understand the interfacial bonding between CPFs and polyester matrix.The optimal composite can be a suitable alternative in the field of structural applications in construction and automobile industries.Mayandi Kalimuthu Rajini Nagarajan Alavudeen Azeez Batcha Suchart Siengchin Varada Rajulu Anumakonda Nadir Ayrilmis 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,1:2
17The Impact of Assimilating Radar-estimated Rain Rates on Simulation of Precipitation in the 17-18 July 1996 Chicago Floods显示文摘Rainfall prediction remains one of the most challenging problems in weather forecasting. In order to improve high-resolution quantitative precipitation forecasts (QPF), a new procedure for assimilating rainfall rate derived from radar composite reflectivity has been proposed and tested in a numerical simulation of the Chicago floods of 17–18 July 1996. The methodology is based on the one-dimensional variation scheme (1DVAR) assimilation approach introduced by Fillion and Errico but applied here using the Kain-Fritsch convective parameterization scheme (KF CPS). The novel feature of this work is the continuous assimilation of radar estimated rain rate over a three hour period, rather than a single assimilation at the initial (analysis) time. Most of the characteristics of this precipitation event, including the propagation, regeneration of mesoscale convective systems, the frontal boundary across the Midwest and the evolution of the low-level jet are better captured in the simulation as the radar-estimated precipitation rate is assimilated. The results indicate that precipitation assimilation during the early stage can improve the simulated mesoscale feature of the convection system and shorten the spin-up time significantly. Comparison of precipitation forecasts between the experiments with and without the 1DVAR indicates that the 1DVAR scheme has a positive impact on the QPF up to 36 hours in terms of the bias and bias equalized threat scores.Xingbao WANG M.
