2Quantitative nanoscale mapping of three-phase thermal conductivities in filled skutterudites via scanning thermal microscopy显示文摘In the last two decades, a nano structuring paradigm has been successfully applied in a wide range of thermoelectric materials, resulting in significant reduction in thermal conductivity and superior thermoelectric performance. These advances, however, have been accomplished without directly investigating the local thermoelectric properties, even though local electric current can be mapped with high spatial resolution. In fact, there still lacks an effective method that links the macroscopic thermoelectric performance to the local micro structures and properties. Here, we show that local thermal conductivity can be mapped quantitatively with good accuracy, nanometer resolution and one-to-one correspondence to the micro structure using a three-phase skutterudite as a model system. Scanning thermal microscopy combined with finite element simulations demonstrate close correlation between sample conductivity and probe resistance,enabling us to distinguish thermal conductivities spanning orders of magnitude, yet resolving thermal variation across a phase interface with small contrast. 4Comparison of Two Molecular Assays For Detecting Smear Negative Pulmonary Tuberculosis显示文摘Objective To compare the performance of MTBDRplus V2 and Xpert MTB/RIF for detecting smear negative pulmonary tuberculosis(PTB). Methods Clinical PTB suspects were enrolled consecutively in Anhui Chest Hospital and Xi'an Chest Hospital from January to December in 2014. The sputum samples of smear negative PTB suspects were collected and decontaminated. The sediment was used to conduct MTBDRplus V2, Xpert MTB/RIF and drug susceptibility test(DST). All the samples with discrepant drug susceptibility result between molecular methods and phenotypic method were confirmed by DNA sequencing. Results A total of 1973 cases were enrolled in this study. The detection rates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex(MTBC) by MTBDRplus V2 and Xpert MTB/RIF were 27.67% and 27.98%, respectively. When setting MGIT culture result as a gold standard, the sensitivity and specificity of MTBDRplus V2 were 86.74% and 93.84%, and the sensitivity and specificity of Xpert MTB/RIF were 86.55% and 93.43%, respectively. For the detection of the resistance to rifampin, the sensitivity and specificity of MTBDRplus V2 were 94.34% and 96.62%, and the sensitivity and specificity of Xpert MTB/RIF were 88.68% and 95.96%, respectively. For the detection of the resistance to isoniazid, the sensitivity and specificity of MTBDRplus V2 were 77.38% and 98.02%, respectively. 6Mapping the elastic properties of two-dimensional MoS_(2) via bimodal atomic force microscopy and finite element simulation显示文摘Elasticity is a fundamental mechanical property of two-dimensional(2D)materials,and is critical for their application as well as for strain engineering.However,accurate measurement of the elastic modulus of 2D materials remains a challenge,and the conventional suspension method suffers from a number of drawbacks.In this work,we demonstrate a method to map the in-plane Young’s modulus of mono-and bi-layer MoS_(2) on a substrate with high spatial resolution.Bimodal atomic force microscopy is used to accurately map the effective spring constant between the microscope tip and sample,and a finite element method is developed to quantitatively account for the effect of substrate stiffness on deformation.Using these methods,the in-plane Young’s modulus of monolayer MoS_(2) can be decoupled from the substrate and determined as 265±13 GPa,broadly consistent with previous reports though with substantially smaller uncertainty.It is also found that the elasticity of mono-and bi-layer MoS_(2) cannot be differentiated,which is confirmed by the first principles calculations.This method provides a convenient,robust and accurate means to map the in-plane Young’s modulus of 2D materials on a substrate.Yuhao Li Chuanbin Yu Yingye Gan Peng Jiang Junxi Yu Yun Ou Dai-Feng Zou Cheng Huang Jiahong Wang Tingting Jia Qian Luo Xue-Feng Yu Huijuan Zhao Cun-Fa Gao Jiangyu Li 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:3

10HPV16E7-HSP70 Hybrid DNA Vaccine Induces E7-Specific Cytotoxic T Cells and Antitumor Immunity显示文摘Using human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) E7 as an antigen and Heat Shock Protein 70 as adjuvant, we constructed a DNA vaccine by linking HSP70 gene to E7~ C91G gene. Mice, after being immunized with E7~ C91G -HSP70, E7~ C91G /HSP70, E7~ C91G , and wild E7 DNA vaccines respectively, produced E7 specific CD8^+ T-cell precursor frequencies of 280.33±2.52, 144.34±4.04, 164.34±5.13 and 82.33±3.51 respectively within every 1×10~5 mouse splenocytes. This proves that E7~ C91G -HSP70 fusion vaccine can significantly enhance the E7 specific cellular immunity within the mice body(p<0.01). After being immunized with E7~ C91G -HSP70 fusion vaccine, tumor-bearing mice of the group being treated have significantly longer latency and survival periods, comparing with other three categories of E7 vaccines. Experiment shows that this vaccine has a significant effect on enhancing E7 positive tumor-treatment within mice body. After being immunized with E7~ C91G -HSP70 vaccine, there were no pathological changes found in livers, kidneys and spleens of the mice, which proves that the vaccine is quite safe. 11Evaluation of the New Automatic Mycob.T Stainer andScanner for Detecting Acid-fast Bacilli in China显示文摘Objective To validate the performance of Mycob. T Stainer and Scanner(MTSS) for detecting acid-fast bacilli(AFB). Methods A total of 3,816 sputum samples from 1,515 tuberculosis(TB) suspects were tested at the Anhui Provincial Chest Hospital and the Linyi People's Hospital from April-August, 2016. Each specimen was placed on two smear slides. One slide was stained by the ziehl-neelsen(ZN) method to be read by conventional microscopy(CM). The other slide was stained and scanned by MTSS. All specimens were decontaminated with 4% NaO H, and then inoculated into solid culture. The performance of MTSS was assessed. Results MTSS produced higher average positivity rate(27.96%) as compared with the CM(26.83%). The overall sensitivity and specificity of MTSS were 78.9% and 93.9%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of CM was 77.4% and 95.0%, respectively. Conclusion MTSS exhibited a favorable performance in the detection of AFB. 12Synthesis of graphene oxide nanoribbons/chitosan composite membranes for the removal of uranium from aqueous solutions显示文摘In this study,a graphene oxide nanoribbons/chitosan(GONRs/CTS)composite membrane was successfully prepared by encapsulating CTS into GONRs,which were unzipped from multi-walled carbon nanotubes.The GONRs/CTS composite membrane so prepared was characterized using scanning electron microscopy,X-Ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.The effects of the experimental conditions such as the pH(2-7),adsorbent dosage(10-50mg),experimental time(5min-32h),uranium concentration(25-300mg·L^-1),experimental temperature(298K-328K)on the adsorption properties of the composite membrane for the removaal of U(VI)were investigated.The results showed that the U(VI)adsorption process of the GONRs/CTS composite membrane was pH-dependent,rapid,spontaneous and endothermic.The adsorption process followed the pseudosecondary kinetics and Langmuir models.The maximum U(VI)adsorption capacity of the GONRs/CTS composite membrane was calculated to be 320mg·g^-1.Hence,the GONRs/CTS composite membrane prepared in this study was found to be suitable for separating and recovering uranium from wastewater.Xuewen Hu Yun Wang Jinbo Ou Yang Yang Li Peng Wu Hengju Zhang Dingzhong Yuan Yan Liu Zhenyu Wu Zhirong Liu 2020Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2020,14,6:1

16Boosting High-Voltage and Ultralong-Cycling Performance of Single-Crystal LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2) Cathode Materials via Three-in-One Modification显示文摘LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2) is extensively researched as one of the most widely used commercially materials for Li-ion batteries at present.However,the poor high-voltage performance(≥4.3 V)with low reversible capacity limits its replacement for LiCoO_(2) in high-end digital field.Herein,three-in-one modification,Na-doping and Al_(2)O_(3)@Li_(3)BO_(3) dual-coating simultaneously,is explored for single-crystalline LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(N-NCM@AB),which exhibits excellent high-voltage performance.N-NCM@AB displays a discharge-specific capacity of 201.8 mAh g^(−1) at 0.2 C with a high upper voltage of 4.6 V and maintains 158.9 mAh g^(−1) discharge capacity at 1 C over 200 cycles with the corresponding capacity retention of 87.8%.Remarkably,the N-NCM@AB||graphite pouch-type full cell retains 81.2% of its initial capacity with high working voltage of 4.4 V over 1600 cycles.More importantly,the fundamental understandings of three-in-one modification on surface morphology,crystal structure,and phase transformation of N-NCM@AB are clearly revealed.The Na+doped into the Li–O slab can enhance the bond energy,stabilize the crystal structure,and facilitate Li+transport.Additionally,the interior surface layer of Li^(+)-ions conductor Li_(3)BO_(3) relieves the charge transfer resistance with surface coating,whereas the outer surface Al_(2)O_(3) coating layer is beneficial for reducing the active materials loss and alleviating the electrode/electrolyte parasite reaction.This three-in-one strategy provides a reference for the further research on the performance attenuation mechanism of NCM,paving a new avenue to boost the high-voltage performance of NCM cathode in Li-ion batteries.Bao Zhang Jixue Shen Qi Wang Changqing Hu Bi Luo Yun Liu Zhiming Xiao Xing Ou 2023Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,1:1
