| 5 | Nanoparticle Shape Effect on a Sodium–Alginate Based Cu–Nanofluid under a Transverse Magnetic Field显示文摘Sodium-alginate(SA)based nanofluids represent a new generation of fluids with improved performances in terms of heat transfer.This work examines the influence of the nanoparticle shape on a non–Newtonian viscoplastic Cu–nanofluid pertaining to this category.In particular,a stretching/shrinking sheet subjected to a transverse magnetic field is considered.The proposed Cu–nanofluid consists of four different nanoparticles having different shapes,namely bricks,cylinders,platelets,and blades dispersed in a mixture of sodium alginate with Prandtl number Pr=6.45.Suitable similarity transformations are employed to reduce non–linear PDEs into a system of ODEs and these equations and related boundary conditions are solved numerically by means of a Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg(RKF)method.Moreover,analytical solutions are obtained through the application of a MAPLE built–in differential equation solver(Dsolve).The behavior of prominent parameters against velocity and temperature is analyzed.It is found that the temperature increases for all shapes of nanoparticles with the viscoplastic parameter and the Eckert number. | Samia Rani H.A.M.Al–Sharifi Mohammad S.Zannon Abid Hussanan Zafar Ullah | 2023 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,7: | 1 |

| 8 | ROLE OF ACULASER THERAPY IN CEREBRAL PALSY CHILDERN (INITIAL DATA & RESULTS)显示文摘A single, open and non-comparative study was conducted at Anwar Shah’s First C.P. & Paralysis Clinic and Research Center to evaluate the effects of Aculaser (acupoint-laser) Therapy for children suffering from cerebral palsy (CP) of various types. These children were further classified according to their major complaints. Analysis of the data indicated that 11 children with severe spasticity and stiffness all showed marked improvement (100% success rate); of the 8 children with epileptic fits, 6 patients had a significant reduction in the intensity, frequency and duration of epileptic fits, while the rest 2 cases showed no any improvement or aggravation (75% success rate); out of 5 children with cortical blindness, 2 cases showed complete recovery of vision and 3 had marked improvement (40% cure rate); out of 4 children with hearing difficulties, 2 showed marked improvement (50% success rate); out of 14 children with aphasis, 8 showed improvement (57% improvement rate). | 12 | Development and characterization of SSR markers in Himalayan species Betula utilis显示文摘Betula utilis D.Don.is an important species of alpine Himalaya and forms the major treeline component of western Himalaya.The different populations of B.utilis are declining and are under high risk.In the present study,novel expressed sequence tag-simple sequence repeat(EST-SSR)primers were developed from expressed sequence tag(EST)data of different Betula species.Of the10,796 designed primers,the percentages of di-,tri-,tetra-,penta-,and hexa-repeats were 36%,35%,15%,5.5%and7.7%,respectively.For validation,50 primers were synthesized randomly and were characterized in 20 different B.utilis accessions from north-western Himalaya.Of these,45 primers amplified fragments in a range of 1-6.The 24 polymorphic primers produced 111 fragments in aggregate with 4.6 fragments on average.Polymorphism information content(PIC)ranged from 0.288 in marker BUMS-24 to 0.497 in BUMS-3 and BUMS-7,with an average of 0.447 among polymorphic markers.Dendrogram based on Jaccard’s similarity coefficient and UPGMA method showed that newly developed SSR markers distinguished twenty accessions of B.utilis into two groups.As no SSR markers were available in this species,the newly developed markers will foster molecular genetics research and conservation efforts for this species. | Mohammad Saleem Wani Vikas Sharma Raghbir Chand Gupta Abid Hussain Munshi | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,4: | 0 |

| 14 | Defending Adversarial Examples by a Clipped Residual U-Net Model显示文摘Deep learning-based systems have succeeded in many computer vision tasks.However,it is found that the latest study indicates that these systems are in danger in the presence of adversarial attacks.These attacks can quickly spoil deep learning models,e.g.,different convolutional neural networks(CNNs),used in various computer vision tasks from image classification to object detection.The adversarial examples are carefully designed by injecting a slight perturbation into the clean images.The proposed CRU-Net defense model is inspired by state-of-the-art defense mechanisms such as MagNet defense,Generative Adversarial Net-work Defense,Deep Regret Analytic Generative Adversarial Networks Defense,Deep Denoising Sparse Autoencoder Defense,and Condtional Generattive Adversarial Network Defense.We have experimentally proved that our approach is better than previous defensive techniques.Our proposed CRU-Net model maps the adversarial image examples into clean images by eliminating the adversarial perturbation.The proposed defensive approach is based on residual and U-Net learning.Many experiments are done on the datasets MNIST and CIFAR10 to prove that our proposed CRU-Net defense model prevents adversarial example attacks in WhiteBox and BlackBox settings and improves the robustness of the deep learning algorithms especially in the computer visionfield.We have also reported similarity(SSIM and PSNR)between the original and restored clean image examples by the proposed CRU-Net defense model. | Kazim Ali Adnan N.Qureshi Muhammad Shahid Bhatti Abid Sohail Mohammad Hijji | 2023 | Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,2: | 0 |
