| 1 | Influence of potato flour on dough rheological properties and quality of steamed bread显示文摘It is a novel idea to make steamed bread by adding potato flour into wheat flour considering the production and nutritional factors of potato. In this study, the influence of potato flour(0–35%) on dough rheology and quality of steamed bread were investigated. Potato flour addition significantly influenced the dough rheological properties and steamed bread quality, such as increased water absorption, the maximum gaseous release height, total volume of CO_2 and hardness, while decreased dough stability and specific volume of steamed bread. Moreover, correlation analysis suggested that dough height at the maximum development time, dough stability, water absorption and the phase tangent can be used for predicting the technological quality of steamed bread. Potato-wheat steamed bread had higher dietary fibre, ash content and antioxidant activity than those of wheat steamed bread. The estimated glycemic index decreased from 73.63(0%) to 60.01(35%). Considering the sensory evaluation, the steamed bread with 20% potato flour is acceptable. | 2 | Full-color quantum dots active matrix display fabricated by ink-jet printing显示文摘Making full-color active matrix display based on quantum dot light emitting diodes(AM-QLEDs) via ink-jet printing is attractive in display industry due to QLEDs' wide color gamut and their potential manufacturing advantages of large screen size and low cost. The challenges for realizing AM-QLED display are how to achieve high quality films through ink-jet printing, multi-color patterning, electroluminescence(EL) color purity, and high efficiency. Herein, a 2-inch diagonal full-color AM-QLEDs display with pixel density of 120 pixels per inch(PPI) fabricated by ink-jet printing technique is presented. Driven by a metal oxide TFT(MOTFT) back-panel, the display exhibits a maximum brightness of 400 cd m.2, and a color gamut of 109%(NTSC 1931). The red, green, and blue(RGB) monochrome QLEDs passive matrix panels fabricated by ink-jet printing technique have a current efficiency(CE) of 2.5, 13.9, and 0.30 cd A.1, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, the efficiencies are the highest among passive matrix QLEDs panels made by ink-jet printing technique. | 4 | Long-term effects of early antibiotic intervention on blood parameters,apparent nutrient digestibility, and fecal microbial fermentation profile in pigs with different dietary protein levels显示文摘Backgroud: This study aimed to determine the effects of early antibiotic intervention(EAI) on subsequent blood parameters, apparent nutrient digestibility, and fecal fermentation profile in pigs with different dietary crude protein(CP) levels. Eighteen litters of piglets(total 212) were randomly allocated to 2 groups and were fed a creep feed diet with or without in-feed antibiotics(olaquindox, oxytetracycline calcium and kitasamycin) from postnatal d 7 to d 42. On d 42, the piglets within the control or antibiotic group were mixed, respectively, and then further randomly assigned to a normal-(20%, 18%, and 14% CP from d 42 to d 77, d 77 to d 120, and d 120 to d 185,respectively) or a low-CP diet(16%, 14%, and 10% CP from d 42 to d 77, d 77 to d 120, and d 120 to d 185,respectively), generating 4 groups. On d 77(short-term) and d 185(long-term), serum and fecal samples were obtained for blood parameters, microbial composition and microbial metabolism analysis.Results: EAI increased(P < 0.05) albumin and glucose concentrations in low-CP diet on d 77, and increased(P < 0.05) urea concentration in normal-CP diet. On d 185, EAI increased(P < 0.05) globulin concentration in normal-CP diets, but decreased glucose concentration. For nutrient digestibility, EAI increased(P < 0.05)digestibility of CP on d 77. For fecal microbiota, the EAI as well as low-CP diet decreased(P < 0.05) E. coli count on d 77. For fecal metabolites, on d 77, EAI decreased(P < 0.05) total amines concentration but increased skatole concentration in low-CP diet. On d 185, the EAI increased(P < 0.05) putrescine and total amines concentrations in low-CP diets but reduced(P < 0.05) in the normal-CP diets. The low-CP diet decreased the concentrations of these compounds.Conclusions: Collectively, these results indicate that EAI has short-term effects on the blood parameters and fecal microbial fermentation profile. | 5 | Expression Patterns of Cytochrome P450 Aromatase Genes During Ovary Development and Their Responses to Temperature Stress in Female Yellow Catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco)显示文摘Cytochrome P450 aromatase(P450arom)plays a pivotal role in ovary development.In this study,we used semi-quanti-tative reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR)to analyze spatiotemporal expressions of two P450arom genes(CYP19A and CYP19B)and their responses to temperature stress in female yellow catfish(Pelteobagrus fulvidraco).Tissue distribution pattern of CYP19 showed that CYP19B was abundantly expressed in fish brain and ovary(brain > ovary),but weakly in intestines,whereas CYP19A was exclusively expressed in ovary.Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analyses showed high transcript abundance of both CYP19A and CYP19B in the ovarian reproductive cycle,corresponding with serum estradiol-17β(E2)levels.Increases in aromatases,serum E2 and testosterone(T)levels in fish exposed to higher temperature indicated stimulation of ovarian maturation and recrudescence by heat stress in stages Ⅱ and Ⅴ during the ovarian cycle,whereas associated decreases in stage Ⅲ suggested vitellogenesis inhibition by heat stress.Gene expression of CYP19 was closely related to levels of serum E2.Results demonstrated CYP19 played a crucial role in the reproductive cycle of female yellow catfish.Different temperature stress affected CYP19 gene expression in the fish ovarian re-productive cycle.Associated P450arom genes could be useful for studying physiological aspects of yellow catfish. | LIU Miao WEN Haishen HE Feng LI Jifang SHI Dan HU Jian ZHANG Yuanqing MA Ruiqin MU Weijie QI Baoxia | 2011 | Journal of Ocean University of China2011,10,4: | 5 |
| 6 | Blockade of Endogenous Angiotensin-(1–7) in Hypothalamic Paraventricular Nucleus Attenuates High Salt-Induced Sympathoexcitation and Hypertension显示文摘Angiotensin(Ang)-(1–7) is an important biologically-active peptide of the renin-angiotensin system. This study was designed to determine whether inhibition of Ang-(1–7) in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus(PVN) attenuates sympathetic activity and elevates blood pressure by modulating pro-inflammatory cytokines(PICs)and oxidative stress in the PVN in salt-induced hypertension. Rats were fed either a high-salt(8% NaCl) or a normal salt diet(0.3% NaCl) for 10 weeks, followed by bilateral microinjections of the Ang-(1–7) antagonist A-779 or vehicle into the PVN. We found that the mean arterial pressure(MAP), renal sympathetic nerve activity(RSNA), and plasma norepinephrine(NE) were significantly increased in salt-induced hypertensive rats. The high-salt diet also resulted in higher levels of the PICs interleukin-6, interleukin-1 beta, tumor necrosis factor alpha, and monocyte chemotactic protein-1, as well as higher gp91 phoxexpression and superoxide production in the PVN. Microinjection of A-779(3 nmol/50 nL) into the bilateral PVN of hypertensive rats not only attenuated MAP, RSNA, and NE, but also decreased the PICs and oxidative stress in the PVN. | 7 | Observation and research of deep underground multi-physical fields—Huainan–848 m deep experiment显示文摘Compared with the surface,the deep environment has the advantages of allowing“super-quiet and ultra-clean”-geophysical field observation with low vibration noise and little electromagnetic interference,which are conducive to the realization of long-term and high-precision observation of multi-physical fields,thus enabling the solution of a series of geoscience problems.In the Panyidong Coal Mine,where there are extensive underground tunnels at the depth of 848 m below sea level,we carried out the first deep-underground geophysical observations,including radioactivity,gravity,magnetic,magnetotelluric,background vibration and six-component seismic observations.We concluded from these measurements that(1)the background of deep subsurface gravity noise in the long-period frequency band less than 2 Hz is nearly two orders of magnitude weaker than that in the surface observation environment;(2)the underground electric field is obviously weaker than the surface electric field,and the relatively high frequency of the underground field,greater than 1 Hz,is more than two orders of magnitude weaker than that of the surface electric field;the east-west magnetic field underground is approximately the same as that at the surface;the relatively high-frequency north-south magnetic field underground,below 10 Hz,is at least one order of magnitude lower than that at the surface,showing that the underground has a clean electromagnetic environment;(3)in addition to the highfrequency and single-frequency noises introduced by underground human activities,the deep underground space has a significantly lower background vibration noise than the surface,which is very beneficial to the detection of weak earthquake and gravity signals;and(4)the underground roadway support system built with ferromagnetic material interferes the geomagnetic field.We also found that for deep observation in the“ultra-quiet and ultra-clean”environment,the existing geophysical equipment and observation technology have problems of poor adaptability and insufficient precision as well as data cleaning problems,such as the effective separation of the signal and noise of deep observation data.It is also urgent to interpret and comprehensively utilize these high-precision multi-physics observation data. | Yun WANG Yaxin YANG Heping SUN Chengliang XIE Qisheng ZHANG Xiaoming CUI Chang CHEN Yongsheng HE Qiangqiang MIAO Chaomin MU Lianghui GUO Jiwen TENG | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,1: | 3 |
| 8 | Late Mesozoic rifting and its deep dynamic mechanisms in the central Sulu orogenic belt: Records from Lingshan Island显示文摘The Lingshan Island scientific drill confirms that two episodes(Laiyang period and Qingshan period) of rifting developed in the central Sulu orogenic belt(SOB) in Late Mesozoic. With a set of methods including fieldwork, drilling, core logging, zircon U-Pb dating and whole rock geochemistry applied, the age, the depositional sequence and the deep dynamic mechanisms of rift evolution were unraveled. The stratigraphic sequence of the Laiyang-Qingshan Groups on Lingshan Island was composed of two different rifting sequences:(1) Laiyang Group(147–125 Ma), which consists of deep-water gravity flow deposits with interlayers of intermediate volcanic rocks;and(2) Lower Qingshan Group(125–119 Ma), which unconformably overlies the former sequence and contains subaerial volcanic deposits and terrestrial deposits. The tectonic environment changed during the evolution of these two episodes of rifting: the rift was in a NNW-SSE extensional environment in the Laiyang period and showed the typical passive rifting character that “lithospheric extension and rifting preceded volcanism”. The passive rifting period was ended by a short WNW-ESE compression at about 125 Ma. After that, the tectonic environment transferred to a strong NW-SE extensional environment and the rifting evolved into a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period. The igneous rocks are shoshonitic to high-K calc-alkaline trachyandesites to trachytes with a few intercalated lamprophyres and a rhyolite.The geochemical characteristics of the igneous rocks indicate that they are mantle-derived melts with a metasomatized mantle source and/or crustal contamination. In addition, an increased thinning of the lithosphere happened during the rifting episodes.The low-angle subduction of the Paleo-Pacific plate in the Jurassic weakened the thickened SOB lithospheric mantle. The rollback of the subducting plate started in late Jurassic to early Cretaceous, and the SOB lithospheric mantle was delaminated synchronously because of the gravity collapse. Thus, this caused passive rifting in the Laiyang period. Thereafter, the rollback and trench retreat of the high-angle subducting Paleo-Pacific plate would have achieved its climax, resulting in the strong regional extension. Passive rifting was ended by the crustal uplift caused by asthenospheric upwelling beneath the rift. The lower crust was heated by the upwelling asthenosphere and partially melted to form felsic melts, which were emplaced upwards and erupted explosively. The rift evolved into a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period and showed some characteristics of active rifting. Above all, a passive rifting in the Laiyang period and a volcanic arc basin in the Qingshan period developed successively in the Lingshan Island area(the central SOB). This records the transfer of the study area from the Paleo-Tethys tectonic domain to the circum-Pacific tectonic domain. The delamination of SOB lithospheric mantle and the upwelling of asthenospheric material were the deep dynamic mechanisms driving the development and evolution of two rift episodes. | 9 | Cloning and Expression Analysis of vasa During the Reproductive Cycle of Korean Rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli显示文摘Vasa, which is a conserved member of the DEAD-box protein family, plays an indispensable role in primordial germ cell proliferation. However, the expression of vasa gene during the reproductive cycle in ovoviviparous fish has not been documented. In this study, the full-length sequence of vasa was obtained from the ovary of Korean rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli) using reverse transcription-PCR and rapid amplification of cDNA ends. The Vasa with a mature protein of 650 amino acids showed greatest homology (84%) with giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) and Pacific bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientalis). The expression of vasa mRNA in Korean rockfish was detected in gonads only, suggesting its specific role in gonadal development. In addition, seasonal changes in the vasa expression levels were examined in gonads by quantitative real-time PCR. The vasa transcript levels in adult testis were found higher during spermatogenesis than during spermiation. The vasa transcript levels remained relatively high at the early ovary stage but declined during ovary maturation in adult female fish. | 11 | Berberine Induces Cell Apoptosis through Cytochrome C/Apoptotic Protease-Activating Factor 1/Caspase-3 and Apoptosis Inducing Factor Pathway in Mouse Insulinoma Cells显示文摘Objective:To investigate apoptotic effects of berberine,a significant alkaloids component existing in Rhizoma coptidis,and its possible acting mechanism in insulinoma cells.Methods:Different concentrations of berberine were used to treat mouse insulinoma(MIN6)cells for various period of time.The viability and apoptosis of the cells were analyzed using methylthiazolyldiphenvl-tetrazolium bromide assay,flow cytometry and enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay.Changes in the relating pro-and anti-apoptosis proteins were detected by western-blotting.Results:The half-maximal inhibitory concentration(IC50)of berberine was 5.7μmol/L on MIN6 cells viability for 16 h.Berberine caused a 20%reduction(P<0.05)in cell number after only 4-h incubation;which reached 50%after 24 h(P<0.01).Berberine treatment for 16 h significantly increased the level of DNA fragmentation.The flow cytometry showed the apoptotic rate increased 2.9-and 4.6-fold after treating with berberine(5μmol/L)for 8 and 16 h,while 3-and 8.7-fold after 10μmol/L treatment for 8 and 16 h(P<0.01).Berberine treatment dramatically elevated the expression ratio of Bax to Bcl-2.Meanwhile,berberine notably increased the apoptosis-inducing factors and cytochrome C transforming from the mitochondria to the cytoplasm.Apoptotic protease-activating factor 1(Apaf-1)was subsequently activated after cytochrome C release.Furthermore,caspase-3 and poly adenosine diphosphate-ribose polymerase were also activated to trigger apoptosis cascade.Conclusion:High concentration(5 and 10μmol/L)of berberine could induce the apoptosis of MIN6 cells through cytochrome C/Apaf-1/caspase-3 and apoptosis inducing factor(AIF)pathway. | FANG Xin MIAO Xiao-liang LIU Jun-li ZHANG Dong-wei WANG Min ZHAO Dan-dan MU Qian-qian YU Na MO Fang-fang YIN Hong-ping GAO Si-hua | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2019,25,11: | 2 |

| 13 | Association between dietary sodium intake and blood pressure variability in Chinese patients with hypertension显示文摘Background:The association between dietary sodium intake and blood pressure variability(BPV)in hypertensive patients remains unclear.The objective of this study was to demonstrate whether dietary sodium intake is a predictor of elevated BPV in Chinese patients with hypertension.Methods:A total of 235 patients with essential hypertension were enrolled in the Department of Cardiology,Chinese People’s Liberation Army(PLA)General Hospital in 2018 to 2019,all of whom underwent 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.BPV was calculated as the standard deviation(SD),coefficient of variation(CV),variation independent of mean(VIM)of blood pressure measurements,respectively,and divided into diurnal systolic BPV(SBPV),diurnal diastolic BPV(DBPV),nocturnal SBPV,and nocturnal DBPV.24-h urine samples were collected to measure 24-h urine sodium excretion,which represents dietary sodium intake.The relationship between dietary sodium intake and BPV was analyzed by using Spearman correlations and multiple linear regression analysis.Results:Nocturnal SBPV-SD,CV,VIM,and nocturnal DBPV-SD in the high urine sodium excretion group were significantly higher than those in the medium and low urine sodium excretion groups,whereas diurnal SBPV-SD,CV,VIM,diurnal DBPV-SD,CV,VIM,and nocturnal DBPV-CV,VIM were not.Using the Spearman correlation analysis,we found a linear correlation between 24-h urine sodium excretion and nocturnal SBPV-SD,CV,VIM(SD,r=0.22,P=0.001;CV,r=0.17,P=0.009;VIM,r=0.16,P=0.020),nocturnal DBPV-SD(r=0.21,P=0.001),respectively.After further adjusting for confounding factors by multiple linear regression,the positive correlations remained between 24-h urine sodium excretion and nocturnal SBPV-SD,CV,VIM(SD,β=0.224,P<0.001;CV,β=0.211,P=0.001;VIM,β=0.213,P=0.001),nocturnal DBPV(SD,β=0.215,P=0.001),respectively.Conclusions:Dietary sodium intake is associated with nocturnal SBPV in Chinese patients with hypertension. | Chi Wang Tong-Bo Liu Lei Mu Miao Wang Yao Li Si-Yu Yao Mao-Xiang Zhao Hao Xue | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,9: | 2 |

| 17 | Genetic Characteristics and Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Arcobacter butzleri Isolates from Raw Chicken Meat and Patients with Diarrhea in China显示文摘Arcobacter is an emerging foodborne pathogen worldwide.In this study,the prevalence,antimicrobial susceptibility and genetic characteristics of Arcobacter from different sources were investigated.Eighteen A.butzleri isolates were obtained from 60 raw chicken meat samples(16/60,27%)and 150 patients with diarrhea(2/150,1.3%).The resistance ratios to nalidixic acid,ciprofloxacin,clindamycin,chloramphenicol,and florfenicol were 83.33%(15/18),38.89%(7/18),38.89%(7/18),33.33%(6/18)and 33.33%(6/18),respectively.We performed whole genome sequencing of the 18 isolates,and we predicted antibiotic resistance genes and virulence factors by using assembled genomes through blastx analysis.Two resistance genes,blaOXA-464 and tet(H),and the C254T mutation in gyrA,were identified in the genomes of some resistant isolates.Furthermore,virulence genes,such as flgG,flhA,flhB,fliI,fliP,motA,cadF,cjl349,ciaB,mviN,pldA and tlyA,were found in all strains,whereas hecA,hecB and iroE were found in only some strains.Phylogenetic tree analysis of A.butzleri isolates on the basis of the core-genome single nucleotide polymorphisms showed that two isolates from patients with diarrhea clustered together,separately from the isolates from raw chicken and the chicken strains.This study is the first comprehensive analysis of Arcobacter isolated in Beijing. | WANG Yuan Yuan ZHOU Gui Lan LI Ying GU Yi Xin HE Mu ZHANG Shuang JI Guo Qiang YANG Jie WANG Miao MA Hong Mei ZHANG Mao Jun | 2021 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,12: | 1 |
