2Architectural proteins for the formation and maintenance of the 3D genome显示文摘Eukaryotic genomes are densely packaged into hierarchical three-dimensional(3D) structures that contain information about gene regulation and many other biological processes. With the development of imaging and sequencing-based technologies, 3D genome studies have revealed that the high-order chromatin structure is composed of hierarchical levels, including chromosome territories, A/B compartments, topologically associated domains, and chromatin loops. However, how this chromatin architecture is formed and maintained is not completely clear. 3X-ray pulsar-based navigation using pulse phase and Doppler frequency measurements显示文摘In order to eliminate the impact of the Doppler effects caused by the motion of the spacecraft on the X-ray pulsar-based navigation, an innovative navigation method using the pulse phase and Doppler frequency measurements of the X-ray pulsars is proposed. Given the initial estimate of the spacecraft's state,the real-time photon arrival model is established at the spacecraft with respect to the spacecraft's position and velocity predicted by the orbit dynamic model and their estimation errors. On this basis, a maximum likelihood estimation algorithm directly using the observed photon event timestamps is developed to extract a single pair of pulse phase and Doppler frequency measurements caused by the spacecraft's state estimation error. Since the phase estimation error increases as the observation time increases, we propose a new measurement updating scheme of referring the measurements to the middle time of an observation interval. By using the ground-based simulation system of X-ray pulsar signals, a series of photon-level simulations are performed. 4Ultracompact dual-mode waveguide crossing based on subwavelength multimode-interference couplers显示文摘We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel ultracompact dual-mode waveguide crossing based on subwavelength multimode-interference couplers for a densely integrated on-chip mode-division multiplexing system.By engineering the lateral-cladding material index and manipulating phase profiles of light at the nanoscale using an improved inverse design method, a subwavelength structure could theoretically realize the identical beat length for both TE_0 and TE1, which can reduce the scale of the device greatly. The fabricated device occupied a footprint of only 4.8 μm× 4.8 μm. The measured insertion losses and crosstalks were less than 0.6 d B and-24 d B from 1530 nm to 1590 nm for both TE0 and TE1 modes, respectively. 5Denoising of X-ray pulsar observed profile using biorthogonal lifting wavelet transform显示文摘In X-ray pulsar-based navigation, strong X-ray background noise leads to a low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of the observed profile, which consequently makes it very difficult to obtain an accurate pulse phase that directly determines the navigation precision. This signifies the necessity of denoising of the observed profile. Considering that the ultimate goal of denoising is to enhance the pulse phase estimation, a profile denoising algorithm is proposed by fusing the biorthogonal lifting wavelet transform of the linear phase characteristic with the thresholding technique. The statistical properties of X-ray background noise after epoch folding are studied. Then a wavelet-scale dependent threshold is introduced to overcome correlations between wavelet coefficients. Moreover, a modified hyperbola shrinking function is presented to remove the impulsive oscillations of the observed profile. The results of numerical simulations and real data experiments indicate that the proposed method can effectively improve SNR of the observed profile and pulse phase estimation accuracy, especially in short observation durations. 7Identification of sources,characteristics and photochemical transformations of dissolved organic matter with EEM-PARAFAC in the Wei River of China显示文摘Dissolved organic matter(DOM)in rivers is a critical regulator of the cycling and toxicity of pollutants and the behavior of DOM is a key indicator for the health of the environment.We investigated the sources and characteristics of DOM in surface water and sediment samples of the Wei River,China.Dissolved organic carbon(DOC)concentration and ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm(UV254)increased in the surface water and were decreased in the sediment downstream,indicating that the source of DOM in the water differed from the sediment.Parallel factor(PARAFAC)analysis of the excitation-emission matrices(EEM)revealed the presence of terrestrial humus-like,microbial humus-like and tryptophan-like proteins in the surface water,whereas the sediment contained UVA humic-like,UVC humic-like and fulvic-like in the sediment.The DOM in the surface water and sediment were mainly derived from microbial metabolic activity and the surrounding soil.Surface water DOM displayed greater photodegradation potential than sediment DOM.PARAFAC analysis indicated that the terrestrial humic-like substance in the water and the fulvic-like component in the sediment decomposed more rapidly.These data describe the characteristics of DOM in the Wei River and are crucial to understanding the fluctuations in environmental patterns.Yuanyuan Luo Yangyang Zhang Mengfan Lang Xuetao Guo Tianjiao Xia Tiecheng Wang Hanzhong Jia Lingyan Zhu 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,5:2

9High-speed optical secure communication with an external noise source and an internal time-delayed feedback loop显示文摘We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel physical layer encryption scheme for high-speed optical communication. A 10 Gb/s on-off keying signal is secretly transmitted over 100 km standard single-mode fiber.The intensity-modulated message is secured by the encryption mechanism, which is composed of an external noise source and an internal time-delayed feedback loop. The external noise serves as an entropy source with sufficient randomness. The feedback loop structure in the transmitter introduces a time-domain encryption key space, and a corresponding open-loop configuration at the receiver side is used for synchronization and decryption.Experiment results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. For a legitimate terminal, bit error rate below10-8 can be obtained. Decryption degradations with the mismatch of different hardware parameters are researched. The time delay in the feedback loop provides a sensitive encryption key. For other hardware parameters,the system is robust enough for synchronization. Meanwhile, the time-delay signature of the loop is able to be well concealed by the external noise. Moreover, the proposed scheme can support density wavelength division multiplexing transmission with a relatively simple structure. 14A combined algorithm of K-means and MTRL for multi-class classification显示文摘The basic idea of multi-class classification is a disassembly method,which is to decompose a multi-class classification task into several binary classification tasks.In order to improve the accuracy of multi-class classification in the case of insufficient samples,this paper proposes a multi-class classification method combining K-means and multi-task relationship learning(MTRL).The method first uses the split method of One vs.Rest to disassemble the multi-class classification task into binary classification tasks.K-means is used to down sample the dataset of each task,which can prevent over-fitting of the model while reducing training costs.Finally,the sampled dataset is applied to the MTRL,and multiple binary classifiers are trained together.With the help of MTRL,this method can utilize the inter-task association to train the model,and achieve the purpose of improving the classification accuracy of each binary classifier.The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by experimental results on the Iris dataset,Wine dataset,Multiple Features dataset,Wireless Indoor Localization dataset and Avila dataset.XUE Mengfan HAN Lei PENG Dongliang 2019Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2019,30,5:1

16Fine-mapping and validation of the genomic region underpinning pear red skin colour显示文摘Red skin colour is an important target trait in various pear breeding programmes.In this study,the genetic control of red skin colour was investigated in an interspecific population derived using the descendants of the red sport European pear cultivar‘Max Red Bartlett’(MRB)and the red-blushed Chinese pear cultivar‘Huobali’.Approximately 550 seedlings from nine families were phenotyped for red skin over-colour coverage(Ocolcov)and the intensity of red over-colour(Ocolint)on a 0–9 scale,and genotyped using genotyping-by-sequencing.Genome-wide association analyses were conducted using 7500 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs).Genomic regions on linkage groups(LG)4 and 5 were found to be associated,and the best SNP(S578_25116)on LG4 accounted for~15%of phenotypic variation in Ocolcov and Ocolint.The association of S578_25116 with Ocolcov and Ocolint was successfully validated in a sample of~200 European and Asian pear accessions.The association with red skin at locus S578_25116 was not present in Asian pear accessions,suggesting its close proximity to the MRB’s Cardinal gene.Several putative candidate genes,including MYB transcription factors(PCP027962 and PCP027967),were identified in the quantitative trait locus region on LG4 and await functional validation.Satish Kumar Chris Kirk Cecilia Hong Deng Claudia Wiedow Mengfan Qin Richard Espley Jun Wu Lester Brewer 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:1

19Metabolic regulation mechanism of Aconiti Radix Cocta extract in rats based on ^(1)H-NMR metabonomics显示文摘Objective:To establish a metabonomics research technique based on the combination of^(1)H-NMR and multivariate statistical analysis,so as to explore the metabolic regulation mechanism of Aconiti Radix Cocta extract(ARCE)in rat tissues and serum.Methods:SD rats were randomly divided into blank group,female group and male group.The^(1)H-NMR technique was used to collect the information of rat tissues and serum samples in each group.The principal component analysis(PCA),partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA)and other methods were used for data pattern recognition,so as to screen out potential differential metabolites and metabolic pathways,and then network analysis and KEGG database were used to analyze the relationship between metabolites,metabolic pathways and diseases.Results:The external features and^(1)H-NMR analysis showed that the sex of rats had no obvious effect on the drug action.A total of 15 potential differential metabolites and six metabolic pathways were screened out through data pattern recognition.Through network analysis and KEGG pathway analysis,three target diseases closely related to differential metabolites were found,and the metabolic pathway related to lung cancer was the central carbon metabolism of cancer.Conclusion:This study shows that Aconiti Radix Cocta(ARC)may regulate the energy metabolism of the body by influencing arginine synthesis,so as to play the roles of anti-inflammation,analgesia,anti-tumor and immune regulation.Wenfang Jin Jianli Bi Sheng Xu Mengfan Rao Qi Wang Yan Yuan Baolei Fan 2022Chinese Herbal Medicines2022,14,4:1
20Stretchable polymer composites with ultrahigh piezoelectric performance显示文摘Flexible piezoelectric materials capable of withstanding large deformation play key roles in flexible electronics.Ferroelectric ceramics with a high piezoelectric coefficient are inherently brittle,whereas polar polymers exhibit a low piezoelectric coefficient.Here we report a highly stretchable/compressible piezoelectric composite composed of ferroelectric ceramic skeleton,elastomer matrix and relaxor ferroelectric-based hybrid at the ceramic/matrix interface as dielectric transition layers,exhibiting a giant piezoelectric coefficient of 250 picometers per volt,high electromechanical coupling factor keff of 65%,ultralow acoustic impedance of 3MRyl and high cyclic stability under 50%compression strain.The superior flexibility and piezoelectric properties are attributed to the electric polarization and mechanical load transfer paths formed by the ceramic skeleton,and dielectric mismatch mitigation between ceramic fillers and elastomer matrix by the dielectric transition layer.The synergistic fusion of ultrahigh piezoelectric properties and superior flexibility in these polymer composites is expected to drive emerging applications in flexible smart electronics.Tongxiang Tang Zhonghui Shen Jian Wang Shiqi Xu Jiaxi Jiang Jiahui Chang Mengfan Guo Youjun Fan Yao Xiao Zhihao Dong Houbing Huang Xiaoyan Li Yihui Zhang Danyang Wang Long-Qing Chen Ke Wang Shujun Zhang Ce-Wen Nan Yang Shen 2023National Science Review2023,10,8:1
