| 1 | Types of Enclaves and Their Features and Origins in Intermediate-Acid Intrusive Rocks from the Tongling District, Anhui Province, China显示文摘Enclaves in intermediate-acid plutons from Tongling can be divided into three types: xenoliths, relics and magmatogenic enclaves. The magmatogenic enclaves consist of cumulates, micrograined dioritite mixtite and dioritic chilled border enclaves. Petrologically, relics with eyed and meta-poikilitic texture are characterized by high content of biotite (>80%) and low content of cordierite and grossular. The cumulates with accumulate texture consist of a great amount of pyroxene, hornblende and minor spinel and phlogopite. The micrograined dioritic mixtite is composed of more hornblendes and feldspar and less needle apatites and an ellipsoid basic core included in plagio-clase. The chilled border enclaves have the same mineral association, but more dark minerals than the host rocks consisting of plagioclase, quartz, alkaline feldspar, hornblende and biotite. | 2 | Interleukin-1β is a potential therapeutic target for periodontitis: a narrative review显示文摘Interleukin(IL)-1β, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, was elevated and participates in periodontitis. Not only the link between IL-1β and periodontitis was proved by clinical evidence, but also the increased IL-1β triggers a series of inflammatory reactions and promotes bone resorption. Currently, IL-1β blockage has been therapeutic strategies for autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, cryopyrin-associated periodic syndromes, gout and type II diabetes mellitus. It is speculated that IL-1β be a potential therapeutic target for periodontitis. | 6 | Comparison of the short-term and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic hysterectomies and of abdominal hysterectomies: a case study of 4,895 patients in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China显示文摘Background: To evaluate the short-term and long-term outcomes after laparoscopic hysterectomy(LH) compared with abdominal hysterectomy(AH) in case of benign gynecological disease. Methods: A multi-center cohort retrospective comparative study of population among 4,895 hysterectomies(3,539 LH vs.1,356 AH) between 2007 and 2013 was involved. Operative time(OT), estimated blood loss(EBL), intra-operative and post-operative complications, passing flatus; days with indwelling catheter, questionnaires covering pelvic floor functions and sexual functions were assessed.Results: The EBL(174.1±157.4 vs. 263.1±183.2 cc, LH and AH groups, respectively), passing flatus(38.7±14.1 vs. 48.1±13.2 hours), days with indwelling catheter(1.5±0.6 vs. 2.2±0.8 days), use of analgesics(6.5% vs. 73.1%), intra-operative complication rate(2.4% vs. 4.1%), post-operative complication rate(2.3% vs. 5.7%), post-operative constipation(12.1% vs. 24.6%), mild and serious stress urinary incontinence(SUI) post-operative(P<0.001; P=0.014), and proportion of Female Sexual Functioning Index(FSFI) total score <26.55 post-operative(P<0.001) of the LH group were significantly less than those of AH group. There wereno significant differences in OT(106.5±34.5 vs. 106.2±40.3 min) between the two groups.Conclusions: LH is a safe and efficient operation for improving patients' long-term quality of life(Qo L), and LH is a cost-effectiveness procedure for treating benign gynecological disease. | 7 | Fine-scale genetic structure of Eremosparton songoricum and implication for conservation显示文摘Eremosparton songoricum (Litv.) Vass. is a clonal shrub that reproduces both asexually by under-ground rhizomes and sexually by seeds. It is now a rare species with a narrow distribution in fragmented habitat patches in the Gurbantunggut Desert of Xinjiang, China. The objective of this study was to determine the spatial pattern or structure of genetic variation within population. The within-populations genetic structure of E. songoricum in a plot (10 m×10 m) was analyzed using inter simple sequence repeats (ISSR) markers. Correlograms of Moran's I showed significant positive value was about 7 m, but changed into a negative correlation with the increase of distance, indicating strong genetic structure. The natural character of clonal reproduction, restricted seed and pollen dispersal were the main factors of influencing the spatial pattern. The knowledge of clonal structures within populations was crucial for understanding evolutionary processes and ecological adaptation. | 8 | Synthesis of graphene materials by electrochemical exfoliation: Recent progress and future potential显示文摘Synthesis of structurally controlled graphene materials is critical for realizing their practical applications.The electrochemical exfoliation of graphite has emerged as a simple method to produce graphene materials.This review examines research progress in the last 5 years,from 2015 to 2019.Graphene material synthesis methods generally have a trade‐off between increasing production yield and achieving better material property control.The synthesis conditions for synthesizing pristine graphene,graphene oxide(GO),and graphene composites are significantly different.Thus,in this review,we first discuss synthesis methods for graphene materials with high C/O ratios from four aspects:graphite electrodes,equipment engineering,electrolytes,and additional reduction methods.Next,we survey synthesis methods for GO and examine how the pretreatment of the graphite electrodes,electrolytes,and operation parameters,such as applied voltages,electrolyte temperatures,and mechanical forces,affect the quality of GO.Further,we summarize electrochemical exfoliation methods used to dope graphene materials,introduce covalent functional groups,incorporate various nanoparticles,and assembly of graphene architectures.For all synthesis methods,we compare the properties of resulting graphene materials such as C/O ratios,lateral size,layer numbers,and quality characterized by Raman spectroscopy.Lastly,we propose our perspectives on further research.We hope this review stimulates more studies to realize the on‐demand production of graphene materials with desired properties using electrochemical exfoliation methods. | Fei Liu Chaojun Wang Xiao Sui Muhammad Adil Riaz Meiying Xu Li Wei Yuan Chen | 2019 | Carbon Energy2019,1,2: | 6 |

| 11 | An ecological risk assessment for heavy metals of the lead-zinc ore tailings显示文摘The structure of Pb, Zn, Cu and Cd in lead zinc ore tailing soils in Yongzhou, Hunan is analyzed by the optimized BCR sequential extraction procedure. The content and proportion of heavy metals of the mine are measured. Meanwhile, the ecological risks are evaluated with the Lars Hakanson’s potential ecological risk exponential method. The analysis shows that the content of heavy metals is very high, reaching the level of serious pollution. The order of metal pollution degrees are Cd>Pb>Cu>Zn. On the other hand, it is very possible that the heavy metals may combine together as compounds or cling to the crystal form of clay. Since the form of soluble acid and free metals are very little, it is not an easy job for metal eluting or restoration of plants. Yet it is possible to take out those heavy metals adopting the chemical extraction technology. DTPA and EDTA, indicated by a research, both have iterative value and strong conformity effect. So they are effective elutriants to restore the polluted soil. | 12 | Extractant(2,3-dimethylbutyl)(2,4,40-trimethylpentyl) phosphinic acid(INET-3) impregnated onto XAD-16 and its extraction and separation performance for heavy rare earths from chloride media显示文摘(2,3-Dimethylbutyl)(2,4,40-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid(INET-3) was impregnated onto dry macroporous resins XAD-16 and pretreated XAD-16 with ethyl alcohol and HCl(Pre-XAD-16) to prepare the solvent impregnated resins SIRs-INET-3/XAD-16 and SIRs-INET-3/Pre-XAD-16. The molecular weight distribution of the low molecular weight(LMW) polymers washed off by ethyl alcohol during XAD-16 pretreatment was determined by gel permeation chromatography(GPC). The macroporous resins(XAD-16 & Pre-XAD-16), the corresponding solvent impregnated resins(SIRs-INET-3/XAD-16 &SIRs-INET-3/Pre-XAD-16) and the PVA coated SIRs-INET-3/Pre-XAD-16 with boric acid as cross-linking agent were characterized by FT-IR, SEM-EDS and TGA. The effects of XAD-16 pretreatment and PVA coating technology on RE(III) adsorption equilibrium time, INET-3 losses during extraction and adsorption capacity were investigated. The adsorption kinetics, selectivity and stripping behaviors of SIRs-INET-3/XAD-16 were further studied. The washed off LMW polymers had the Mn of 36,656, Mw of 40,310 and polydispersity coefficient of 1.10. The SIRs-INET-3/XAD-16 had shorter equilibrium time,less INET-3 loss and more Tm(III) adsorption capacity than the SIRs-INET-3/Pre-XAD-16. The PVA coated SIRs-INET-3/Pre-XAD-16 had less INET-3 loss and more Tm(III) adsorption capacity but longer equilibrium time than the uncoated SIRs-INET-3/Pre-XAD-16. The adsorption of RE(III) on the SIRsINET-3/XAD-16 followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The Tm(III) accumulative adsorption amounts onto SIRs-INET-3/XAD-16 after eight extraction stages was 23.6 mg/g. The separation factors of adjacent heavy RE(III) β_(Er/Ho), β_(Tm/Er), β_(Yb/Tm) and β_(Lu/Yb) values were 1.76, 2.59, 2.56 and 1.19,respectively. | 13 | The association between early-onset cardiac events caused by neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer patients and some novel autophagy-related polymorphisms in their genomic DNA: a real-world study显示文摘Background:An increasing number of cancer patients die of cardiovascular diseases.The cardiotoxicity of chemo-therapy is particularly important in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)with limited therapeutic options.Cardiac autophagy is an important mechanism of cardiotoxicity.This research was aimed to investigate the cardiotoxicity of chemotherapy in TNBC,screen the susceptible population,and determine the relationship between cardiotoxicity and autophagy-related polymorphisms.Methods:From a total of 2450 stage I-III TNBC patients,147 met the inclusion criteria and finally recruited.Electro-cardiography(ECG)was performed before most chemotherapy cycles,and echocardiography(UCG)was performed according to clinical needs.All ECG and UCG records were re-interpreted by cardiologists at the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease,Fuwai Hospital.According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information and the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer database,we selected 25 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)related to autophagy and genotyped the 147 TNBC patients.Paired-sample T tests,Chi squared tests,and logistic regression models were employed for the analysis.Results:Only 46(31.3%)patients had normal ECG records after every chemotherapy cycle.Among the 16 patients who underwent UCG,2(12.5%)had a reversible decrease of left ventricular ejection fraction.The use of anthracyclines and excessive alcohol consumption were risk factors of ECG abnormalities.With the continuation of chemotherapy,heart rate gradually increased.Anthracyclines were associated with QRS duration abnormalities(P=0.043).After genotyping for 25 autophagy-related SNPs,we found that the G allele of autophagy-related 13(ATG13)rs10838611 was significantly associated with ECG abnormalities(odds ratio=2.258,95%confidence interval=1.318-3.869;P=0.003).Conclusion:ECG abnormalities caused by chemotherapy are common in the real world.Autophagy-related SNPs are associated with chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity,thereby providing new evidence for autophagy as a cause of chemotherapy-induced cardiac damage. | Binliang Liu Tao An Meiying Li Zongbi Yi Chunxiao Li Xiaoying Sun Xiuwen Guan Lixi Li Yanfeng Wang Yuhui Zhang Binghe Xu Fei Ma Yixin Zeng | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 5 |

| 15 | Numerical Study of Boundary Layer Structure and Rainfall after Landfall of Typhoon Fitow(2013): Sensitivity to Planetary Boundary Layer Parameterization显示文摘The boundary layer structure and related heavy rainfall of Typhoon Fitow(2013), which made landfall in Zhejiang Province, China, are studied using the Advanced Research version of the Weather Research and Forecasting model, with a focus on the sensitivity of the simulation to the planetary boundary layer parameterization. Two groups of experiments—one with the same surface layer scheme and including the Yonsei University(YSU), Mellor–Yamada–Nakanishi–Niino Level 2.5,and Bougeault and Lacarrere schemes; and the other with different surface layer schemes and including the Mellor–Yamada–Janjic′ and Quasi-Normal Scale Elimination schemes—are investigated. For the convenience of comparative analysis, the simulation with the YSU scheme is chosen as the control run because this scheme successfully reproduces the track, intensity and rainfall as a whole. The maximum deviations in the peak tangential and peak radial winds may account for 11% and 33%of those produced in the control run, respectively. Further diagnosis indicates that the vertical diffusivity is much larger in the first group, resulting in weaker vertical shear of the tangential and radial winds in the boundary layer and a deeper inflow layer therein. The precipitation discrepancies are related to the simulated track deflection and the differences in the simulated low-level convergent flow among all tests. | 16 | Role of connexin 43 in odontoblastic differentiation and structural maintenance in pulp damage repair显示文摘Dental pulp can initiate its damage repair after an injury of the pulp–dentin complex by rearrangement of odontoblasts and formation of newly differentiated odontoblast-like cells.Connexin 43(Cx43)is one of the gap junction proteins that participates in multiple tissue repair processes.However,the role of Cx43 in the repair of the dental pulp remains unclear.This study aimed to determine the function of Cx43 in the odontoblast arrangement patterns and odontoblastic differentiation.Human teeth for in vitro experiments were acquired,and a pulp injury model in Sprague-Dawley rats was used for in vivo analysis.The odontoblast arrangement pattern and the expression of Cx43 and dentin sialophosphoprotein(DSPP)were assessed.To investigate the function of Cx43 in odontoblastic differentiation,we overexpressed or inhibited Cx43.The results indicated that polarized odontoblasts were arranged along the pulp–dentin interface and had high levels of Cx43 expression in the healthy teeth;however,the odontoblast arrangement pattern was slightly changed concomitant to an increase in the Cx43 expression in the carious teeth.Regularly arranged odontoblast-like cells had high levels of the Cx43 expression during the formation of mature dentin,but the odontoblastlike cells were not regularly arranged beneath immature osteodentin in the pulp injury models.Subsequent in vitro experiments demonstrated that Cx43 is upregulated during odontoblastic differentiation of the dental pulp cells,and inhibition or overexpression of Cx43 influence the odontoblastic differentiation.Thus,Cx43 may be involved in the maintenance of odontoblast arrangement patterns,and influence the pulp repair outcomes by the regulation of odontoblastic differentiation. | Jiaxin Yin Jue Xu Ran Cheng Meiying Shao Yuandong Qin Hui Yang Tao Hu | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,1: | 3 |

| 19 | The effects of altered BMP4 signaling in first branchialarch- derived murine embryonic orofacial tissues显示文摘The first branchial arch(BA1),which is derived from cranial neural crest(CNC)cells,gives rise to various orofacial tissues.Cre mice are widely used for the determination of CNC and exploration of gene functions in orofacial development.However,there is a lack of Cre mice specifically marked BA1’s cells.Pax2-Cre allele was previously generated and has been widely used in the field of inner ear development.Here,by compounding Pax2-Cre and R26R-mTmG mice,we found a specific expression pattern of Pax2^(+)cells that marked BA1’s mesenchymal cells and the BA1-derivatives.Compared to Pax2-Cre;R26R-mTmG allele,GFP^(+)cells were abundantly found both in BA1 and second branchial arch in Wnt1-Cre;R26R-mTmG mice.As BMP4 signaling is required for orofacial development,we over-activated Bmp4 by using Pax2-Cre;pMes-BMP4 strain.Interestingly,our results showed bilateral hyperplasia between the upper and lower teeth.We also compare the phenotypes of Wnt1-Cre;pMes-BMP4 and Pax2-Cre;pMes-BMP4 strains and found severe deformation of molar buds,palate,and maxilla-mandibular bony structures in Wnt1-Cre;pMes-BMP4 mice;however,the morphology of these orofacial organs were comparable between controls and Pax2-Cre;pMes-BMP4 mice except for bilateral hyperplastic tissues.We further explore the properties of the hyperplastic tissue and found it is not derived from Runx2^(+)cells but expresses Msx1,and probably caused by abnormal cell proliferation and altered expression pattern of p-Smad1/5/8.In sum,our findings suggest altering BMP4 signaling in BA1-specific cell lineage may lead to unique phenotypes in orofacial regions,further hinting that Pax2-Cre mice could be a new model for genetic manipulation of BA1-derived organogenesis in the orofacial region. | Jue Xu Meiling Chen Yanan Yan Qiaoxue Zhao Meiying Shao Zhen Huang | 2021 | International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,4: | 3 |
| 20 | Selective immunoglobulin A deficiency(SIgAD)primarily leads to recurrent infections and autoimmune diseases:A retrospective study of Chinese patients in the past 40 years显示文摘Selective immunoglobulin A deficiency(SIgAD)is considered to be the most common human primary immune-deficiency disease in the world.However,the incidence in China is obviously lower than Caucasian races.The definition of SIgAD has changed over time with the progress of people’s understanding.The scientific community did not reach a consensus on the definition until 1999.As a result,many previously reported cases need to be excluded under the current definition.SIgAD can lead to several spectra of diseases including infections and autoimmune diseases.We retrospectively summarized the SIgAD patients in Peking Union Medical College Hospital(PUMCH),and summarized the Chinese SIgAD reported in China and abroad in past 40 years.Fourty three SIgAD patients were confirmed in the study,in which 9 were healthy without clinical symptoms.Of the 34 patients with clinical symptoms,recurrent infections were found in 29(85.3%)patients;13(38.2%)patients were with autoimmune diseases;6(17.6%)cases had allergic symptoms;3 patients(8.8%)were with tumors,only one case(2.9%)had a family history.Compared with other countries,sIgAD patients in China showed similar symptoms,but the rate of recurrent infections and autoimmune diseases were higher than some other countries;most of the allergic symptoms are drug allergy,different with the allergic sequelae reported in other countries,such as asthma,rhinitis,food allergy and atopic dermatitis;and it is rare to have family history in Chinese patients.We also figured out that more female SIgAD patients tend to have more autoimmune diseases than men(P=0.039). | Wei Wang Tianhao Yao Tianyi Zhang Meiying Quan Changyan Wang Chen Wang Lejia Zhang Xiaoyan Tang Shan Jian Hongmei Song | 2020 | Genes & Diseases2020,7,1: | 3 |
