1Electroactive polymeric nanofibrous composite to drive in situ construction of lithiophilic SEI for stable lithium metal anodes显示文摘Uncontrolled lithium dendrite growth hinders the practical application of lithium metal batteries(LMBs).Herein,we report a novel Li^(+) flux distributor achieved by placing an electroactive polyvinylidene fluoride/polymethyl methacrylate(PVDF/PMMA)composite nanofiber interlayer on a current collector,inducing uniform lithium deposition to mitigate the dendrite problem.Specifically,the released PMMA reacts with Liþto form abundant C–O–Li bonds and generate in situ a stable lithiophilic PMMA-Li solid electrolyte interphase layer.Theoretical calculations reveal that polar C–F groups in the PVDF framework and lithiophilic PMMA-Li provide homo-dispersed Li^(+) migration pathways with low energy barriers.Consequently,uniform Li nucleation is achieved at the molecular level,resulting in ultrahigh cycling stability with dendrite-free Li deposition at 5 mA cm^(-2) and 5 mAh cm^(-2)for over 500 h.The PVDF/PMMA||Li||LiFePO_(4)(LFP)full cell presents an increased rate capacity of 110 mAh g^(-1) at 10 C.In addition,a soft-package battery demonstrates a high energy density of 289 Wh kg^(-1).This work provides a facile design for stable lithium metal anodes to promote the practical use of LMBs and other alkali metal batteries.Ai-Long Chen Nan Shang Yue Ouyang Lulu Mo Chunyang Zhou Weng Weei Tjiu Feili Lai Yue-E Miao Tianxi Liu 2022eScience2022,2,2:3
2D609 protects retinal pigmented epithelium as a potential therapy for age-related macular degeneration显示文摘Accumulated oxidative damage may lead to irreversible retinal pigmented epithelium(RPE)cell death,which is considered to be the primary cause of dry age-related macular degeneration(AMD),leading to blindness in the elderly.However,an effective therapy for this disease is lacking.Here,we described a robust high-content screening procedure with a library of 814 protective compounds and found that D609 strongly protected RPE cells from sodium iodate(SI)-induced oxidative cell death and prolonged their healthy survival.D609 effectively attenuated excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and prevented severe mitochondrial loss due to oxidative stress in the RPE cells.Surprisingly,the potent antioxidative effects of D609 were not achieved through its own reducibility but were primarily dependent on its ability to increase the expression of metallothionein.The injection of this small water-soluble molecule also showed an explicit protective effect of the RPE layer in an SI-induced AMD mouse model.These findings suggested that D609 could serve as a novel antioxidative protector of RPE cells both in vitro and in vivo and unveiled a novel antioxidative mechanism of D609,which may ultimately have clinical applications for the treatment of AMD.Bowen Wang Li Wang Sijie Gu Yankun Yu Huaxing Huang Kunlun Mo He Xu Fanzhu Zeng Yichen Xiao Lulu Peng Chunqiao Liu Nan Cao Yizhi Liu Jin Yuan Hong Ouyang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:2
3Cardioprotective effect of Yiqi Huoxue granule through regulation of mitophagy after myocardial infarction in rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate the cardioprotective effect of Yiqi Huoxue granule(YQHXG)in the regulation of autophagy in rats induced with myocardial infarction(MI).Methods:An acute MI animal model was established by ligation of the left anterior descending branch of the coronary artery in Sprague-Dawley rats.Besides,20 rats received sham operation were classified into a control group.The remaining 59 rats were randomly divided into MI model group(n=19),YQHXG group(n=20),and perindopril group(n=20).Relevant indicators on days 7 and 28 were observed in each group.Left ventricular function was determined by echocardiography.The structure and morphology of mitochondria,and the number of autophagic vesicles,were observed by transmission electron microscopy.The mRNA and protein expression levels of LC3,FUNDC1,Beclin-1,and BNIP3 were examined in the tissue of the MI marginal area.Results:Compared with the MI model group,YQHXG showed obvious improvements in cardiac functions.Observing the microscopic morphology of the heart tissue,myocardial tissue damage attenuated,autophagic signs of autophagosomes and autolysosomes reduced,vacuolization in mitochondria mitigated,and mitochondria arranged in order.YQHXG could reduce the degree of tissue lesion after MI and regulate the expression of autophagy-related molecules at different stages.On Day 7,YQHXG significantly downregulated the expression of Fundc1,Becn1,Bnip3 mRNA and reduced the levels of FUNDC1,Beclin-1,BNIP3,and LC3 B proteins expression(all P<.001).On Day 28,YQHXG could upregulate the expression of Becn1,Fundc1 and Bnip3 mRNA and increased the levels of the corresponding proteins expression(all P<.001).Besides,it also increased LC3 B protein expression level(P=.0344).Conclusion:YQHXG regulated the expression of mitochondrial autophagy-related factors in myocardial tissue and mitochondrial autophagic activity at different stages to protect the heart following MI.Xi Chen Jiangong Wu Shuwen Guo Hanrong Mo Tianwei Zhan Fanghe Li Hui Wang Pengfei Feng Lulu Wei 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,2:1
4In-situ constructed polymer/alloy composite with high ionic conductivity as an artificial solid electrolyte interphase to stabilize lithium metal anode显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is regarded as the best anode material for lithium metal batteries(LMBs)due to its high theoretical specific capacity and low redox potential.However,the notorious dendrites growth and extreme instability of the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers have severely retarded the commercialization process of LMBs.Herein,a double-layered polymer/alloy composite artificial SEI composed of a robust poly(1,3-dioxolane)(PDOL)protective layer,Sn and LiCl nanoparticles,denoted as PDOL@Sn-LiCl,is fabricated by the combination of in-situ substitution and polymerization processes on the surface of Li metal anode.The lithiophilic Sn-LiCl multiphase can supply plenty of Li-ion transport channels,contributing to the homogeneous nucleation and dense accumulation of Li metal.The mechanically tough PDOL layer can maintain the stability and compact structure of the inorganic layer in the long-term cycling,and suppress the volume fluctuation and dendrites formation of the Li metal anode.As a result,the symmetrical cell under the double-layered artificial SEI protection shows excellent cycling stability of 300 h at 5.0 mA·cm^(−2)for 1 mAh·cm^(−2).Notably,the Li||LiFePO_(4)full cell also exhibits enhanced capacity retention of 150.1 mAh·g^(−1)after 600 cycles at 1.0 C.Additionally,the protected Li foil can effectively resist the air and water corrosion,signifying the safe operation of Li metal in practical applications.This present finding proposed a different tactic to achieve safe and dendrite-free Li metal anodes with excellent cycling stability.Ai-Long Chen Yushan Qian Shujun Zheng Yuyang Chen Yue Ouyang Lulu Mo Zheng-Long Xu Yue-E Miao Tianxi Liu 2023Nano Research2023,16,3:0
5Causal Relationship Between Complement C3,C4,and Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease:Bidirectional Mendelian Randomization Analysis显示文摘The complement system is activated during the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).We aimed to evaluate the causal relationship between serum C3 and C4 levels and NAFLD.After exclusion criteria,a total of 1600 Chinese Han men from the Fangchenggang Area Male Health and Examination Survey cohort were enrolled in cross-sectional analysis,while 572 participants were included in the longitudinal analysis(average follow-up of 4 years).We performed a bidirectional Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis using two C3-related,eight C4-related and three NAFLD-related gene loci as instrumental variables to evaluate the causal associations between C3,C4,and NAFLD risk in cross-sectional analysis.Per SD increase in C3 levels was significantly associated with higher risk of NAFLD(OR=1.65,95%CI 1.40,1.94)in cross-sectional analysis while C4 was not(OR=1.04,95%CI 0.89,1.21).Longitudinal analysis produced similar results(HR_(C3)=1.20,95%CI 1.02,1.42;HR_(C4)=1.10,95%CI 0.94,1.28).In MR analysis,there were no causal relation-ships for genetically determined C3 levels and NAFLD risk using unweighted or weighted GRS_C3(β_(E_unweighted)=−0.019,95%CI−0.019,−0.019,p=0.202;β_(E_weighted)=−0.019,95%CI−0.019,−0.019,p=0.322).Conversely,serum C3 lev-els were significantly effected by the genetically determined NAFLD(β_(E_unweighted)=0.020,95%CI 0.020,0.020,p=0.004;β_(E_weighted)=0.021,95%CI 0.020,0.021,p=0.004).Neither the direction from C4 to NAFLD nor the one from NAFLD to C4 showed significant association.Our results support that the change in serum C3 levels but not C4 levels might be caused by NAFLD in Chinese Han men.Longman Li Lulu Huang Aimin Yang Xiuming Feng Zengnan Mo Haiying Zhang Xiaobo Yang 2021Phenomics2021,1,5:0
6Causal Effect of Genetically Determined Blood Copper Concentrations on Multiple Diseases: A Mendelian Randomization and Phenome-Wide Association Study显示文摘Exposures to copper have become a health concern.We aim to explore the broad clinical effects of blood copper concentrations.A total of 376,346 Caucasian subjects were enrolled.We performed a Mendelian randomization and phenome-wide association study(MR-PheWAS)to evaluate the causal association between copper and a wide range of outcomes in UK Biobank,and we constructed a protein-protein interaction network.We found association between blood copper concentrations and five diseases in the overall population and nine diseases in male.MR analysis implicated a causal role of blood copper in five diseases(overall population),including prostate cancer(OR=0.87,95%CI 0.77-0.98),malignant and unknown neoplasms of the brain and nervous system(OR=0.58,95%CI 0.38-0.89),and hypertension(OR=0.94,95%CI 0.90-0.98),essential hypertension(OR=0.94,95%CI 0.90-0.98)and cancer of brain and nervous system(OR=0.63,95%CI 0.41-0.98).For male,except for dysphagia being newly associated with blood copper(OR=1.39,95%CI 1.18-1.63),other MR results were consistent with the overall population.In addition,the PPI network showed possible relationship between blood copper and four outcomes,namely brain cancer,prostate cancer,hypertension,and dysphagia.Blood copper may have causal association with prostate cancer,malignant and unknown neoplasms of the brain and nervous system,hypertension,and dysphagia.Considering that copper is modifiable,exploring whether regulation of copper levels can be used to optimize health outcomes might have public health importance.Xiuming Feng Wenjun Yang Lulu Huang Hong Cheng Xiaoting Ge Gaohui Zan Yanli Tan Lili Xiao Chaoqun Liu Xing Chen Zengnan Mo Longman Li Xiaobo Yang 2022Phenomics2022,2,4:0
