1Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32

9C.elegans-based screen identifies lysosome-damaging alkaloids that induce STAT3-dependent lysosomal cell death显示文摘Lysosomes are degradation and signaling centers within the cell,and their dysfunction impairs a wide variety of cellular processes.To understand the cellular effect of lysosome damage,we screened natural smallmolecule compounds that induce iysosomal abnormality using Caenorhabditis elegans (C.elegans)as a model system.A group of vobasinyl-ibogan type bisindole alkaloids (ervachinines A-D)were identified that caused lysosome enlargement in C.elegans macrophage-like cells.Intriguingly,these compounds triggered cell death in the germ line independently of the canonical apoptosis pathway.In mammalian cells, ervachinines A-D induced lysosomal enlargement and damage,leading to leakage of cathepsin proteases, inhibition of autophagosome degradation and necrotic cell death.Further analysis revealed that this ervachinine-induced lysosome damage and lysosomal cell death depended on STAT3 signaling,but not RIP1 or RIP3 signaling.These findings suggest that lysosomedamaging compounds are promising reagents for dissecting signaling mechanisms underlying lysosome homeostasis and lysosome-related human disorders.Yang Li Yu Zhang Qiwen Gan Meng Xu Xiao Ding Guihua Tang Jingjing Liang Kai Liu Xuezhao Liu Xin Wang Lingli Guo Zhiyang Gao Xiaojiang Hao Chonglin Yang 2018Protein & Cell2018,9,12:2
10Strongly coupled N-doped carbon/Fe3O4/N-doped carbon hierarchical micro/nanostructures for enhanced lithium storage performance显示文摘A strong interface coupling is of vital importance to develop metal oxide/carbon nanocomposite anodes for next-generation lithium ion batteries.Herein,a rational N-doped carb on riveting strategy is designed to boost the lithium storage performance of Fe3O4/N-doped carbon tubular structures.Poly pyrrole(PPy)has been used as the precursor for N-doped carbon.N-doped carbon-riveted Fe3O4/N-doped carbon(N-C@Fe3O4@N-C)nanocomposites were obtained by pyrolysis of PPy-coated FeOOH@PPy nanotubes in Ar atmosphere.When tested as an anode for LIBs,the N-C@Fe3O4@N-C displays a high reversible discharge capacity of 675.8 mA h g-1 after 100 cycles at a current density of 100 mA g-1 and very good rate capability(470 mA h g_1 at 2 A g-1),which significantly surpasses the performance of Fe3O4@N-C.TEM analysis reveals that after battery cycling the FeOx particles detached from the carbon fibers for Fe3O4@N-C,while for N-C@Fe3O4@N-C the FeOx particles were still trapped in the carbon matrix,thus preserving good electrical contact.Consequently,the superior performance of N-C@Fe3C)4@N-C is attributed to the synergistic effect between Fe3O4 and N-doped carbon combined with the unique structure properties of the nanocomposites.The strategy reported in this work is expected to be applicable for designing other electrode materials for LIBs.Tian tian Ma Xianghong Liu Li Sun Yongshan Xu Lingli Zheng Jun Zhang 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,7:2

16TGF-β/Akt/Smad signaling regulates ionizing radiation-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition in acquired radioresistant lung cancer cells显示文摘Objective:To define the properties of lung cancer cells that resisted conventionally fractionated radiation exposure.Methods:Acquired radioresistant lung cancer cell line A549 was constructed by X-ray irradiation with a clinical conventional fraction dose of 2 Gy daily during 30 fractions.Cell morphology,molecular markers,migration capacity and invasion potential were evaluated by the microscope,Western blot,immunofluorescence,wound healing test and transwell chamber assay,respectively.Results:Radioresistant A549 cells shifted from an epithelial to a mesenchymal morphology,termed as epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),and was accompanied by decreased expressions of epithelial markers(F=4.568,P<0.05)and increased expression of mesenchymal markers(F=4.270,P<0.05),greater migratory and invasive capabilities(t=6.386,5.644,P<0.05).The expression of TGF-β,and phosphorylated levels of Akt and Smad3 were also enhanced(F=6.496,4.685,3.370,P<0.05).Furthermore,the EMT phenotype induced by radiation could be reversed through inhibition of TGF-β,Akt or Smad3,indicating a functional relationship be-tween them.Conclusions:EMT mediates acquired radioresistance of lung cancer cells induced by IR with clinical parameters,and the crosstalk mode of TGF-β/Akt/Smad signaling plays a critical regulatory role in this process.Yongchun Zhou Lingli Liao Nan Su Hua Huang Yaoguo Yang Yan Yang Gengming Wang Hongbo Xu Hao Jiang 2022Radiation Medicine and Protection2022,3,3:1
17Study on the Recent Tectonic Stress Field in the “Huoshan Seismic Window” Region显示文摘The focal mechanisms of 62 moderate-small earthquakes since 1980 in the'Huoshan seismic window'region are calculated with the method developed recently by Snoke,combining the use of the first motion of P,SV and SH waves with their amplitude ratios.Based on these abundant focal mechanisms,the mean tectonic stress field in the'Huoshan seismic window'region is inverted with the average stress tensor method,and the result shows that the'Huoshan seismic window'region is horizontally compressed in the near EW direction and horizontally dilated in the near NS direction,which is in accord with statistical results of focal mechanism parameters.We estimate the difference(also referred to as consistency parameterθ)between the force axis direction of the focal mechanism solution and the mean stress tensor,then further analyze the variation characteristics ofθversus time,and the relationship with moderately strong earthquakes in the east China region.The result indicates thatθin the'Huoshan seismic window'region is in good correspondence with moderately strong earthquakes in the East China region.Whenθis lower than the mean value,corresponding moderately strong earthquakes may occur in the East China region.Ni Hongyu Liu Zemin Hong Dequan Li Lingli Zheng Xianjin Xu Xin 2013Earthquake Research in China2013,27,4:1
